Clan Celebration Month
So for those who haven't checked the news post today, Jagex has announced that February is Clan Celebration Month. (The newspost on runescape.com can be found here and the link to the discussion topic in General Discussion can be found here) The main faces of Jagex to the clan community, mainly Mod Timbo and his 'cohorts' , put a lot of love and time into it. Painstakingly, they tried to make sure the festivities appealed to all, whether they be combat, warring, pking, skilling, marketing, or minigame-based. The month is filled with Q&A sessions, interviews, events, and everything else that's sure to set the RSOF'ers in a tizzy... But those who go to fansites to satisfy their 'clanning fix' might have something else to say. All things are preliminary, of course. It's not even February yet, and this is the very first time they've done anything like this--save for the clan blog, which just started not too long ago. God willing, they'll be listening for objective feedback, from first impressions to overall reviews afterward. So how about those first impressions, then? What do you think of the concept Clan Celebration month?: How would you gauge Jagex's ability to appeal to their very broad clan community?: Do you think your clan will participate? Why?:

29-Jan-2010 - Clan Blog and Clan Celebration Month
I have to give credit where credit is due: they're reaching out to all types of clans, and that's nice. The only thing that I care about is when and where VR will crash these regular PK trips, and how much rune will they feast on?

Similar id's in runescape. Good or Bad.
I think it's a shameless tactic, but I can't blame them for using every advantage afforded to them. Also well said!

Downfall defeats Dragonwood
The matter of levels isn't an issue when it comes to tanking. A lvl 126 not paying attention in robes can be dropped just as easily as a lvl 100 in full rune. It's easy to fall into the habit of "Okay, they've got their snipers out, they've got their main pile, I'm safe!" and then get completely wrecked. Always gotta be paying attention. But like I said, now you know that, as a clan, you've got another goal to work towards. There's nothing wrong with that. Goals, objectives, rivalries, it's what keeps clans alive. Handle it with grace and it'll be another reason to respect Downfall

Silent Ember vs Aces of War
44-28, nice ending. Looked interesting, but I hate the dragfest around the GDZ hut. I'd rather run like a spastic back and fourth between spiders and east trees. '-' Grats SE better luck next time AoW.

Downfall defeats Dragonwood
Please refrain from personal attacks. Even if you have a valid rebuttal, flaming/harassment will absolutely not be tolerated. Honestly, my personal opinion is that this win was by the grace of numbers though. Impressive to be so active, but it's pretty embarrassing to be ko'd by 20 people. DW is good at transitions though, so I guess it just gives DF something to work on, that's all.

[Update:1/28/2010]Tip.it Clan Tournament 2010
Another update, though this one focuses more around clans also participating in the TWR: http://forum.tip.it/topic/256863-important-freezes-for-clans-in-the-twr-and-the-tournament/ Please respond on that if your clan needs a TWR freeze and is in the tourney as soon as possible!

Small Computer Tips for RS
Laptops with integrated video cards can't support dual monitors, I thought? You positive about that? I don't have a laptop (a netbook at the very least would set me back 300 dollars, let alone a decent laptop) so I guess it doesn't really matter but that bit of info ran contrary to how I thought laptops worked. XD Unfortunately, I go to just a small commuter campus, and we're not big on psychology studies or medical trials.

Fun Moneymakers
I don't know how 'fun' you would class it, but I always enjoyed it as a break from the tedium...I range Zogres to pass the time on occasion, and use the special bones/zogre bones I get to train prayer. Again, it's not what most people consider fun, but I enjoy it occasionally and thought I'd share it. EDIT: I'm sorry, I forgot to mention that if you choose to sell these things rather than use them, that it's roughly 100k per hour if not more, depending on your luck. Again, not the best moneymaker, but it's different. :3 EDIT: Oh, and I actually really enjoy Temple Trekking/Burgh De Rott Ramble as a mini moneymaker. Lots of pure essence, watermelon seeds, silver, toadflax, etc. I don't have exp per hr rates, but it's also enjoyable.

Most Prized Possession!
1. What is your most prized possession that you currently own (or owned at some point)? (Green h'ween mask for me.) A friend whom I had met through RS had our birthdays only a few days apart. We exchanged gifts before free trade was removed. Turns out that we had both gotten eachother the same thing--a green halloween mask. I'll never sell it. 2. What is your most favorite item in the game (because it's useful, cool looking, useless, fun, etc.)? (Rubber chicken; wish I had one though!) The 10th Squad Sigil. I love how it looks. Makes me feel like a war hero! :ugeek: 3. If you could have any item in the game (that you currently do not own or have never owned in your RS career), what would it be? (No silly answers like "1B gp," please. :-P) I very much want either a Christmas Cracker. It's a piece of history. I don't care about their GP value, I just want one. I think it's a remarkable thing to own.

Strange power
Considering the about-face that was made since Mark Gerhard was named CEO, I doubt they would revert back to flawed business models after the torrent of positive feedback they received by reversing Iddison's bad calls.

Small Computer Tips for RS
Your budget for this is easily over 500 dollars, including the purchase of a VG card that can support dual monitors. While I admire your dedication, I just don't have that kind of spare scratch. If I did, I wouldn't be running on a 6 year old machine with 2.2GHz, 60gb HDD, and a 64mb integrated video card...*goes to an isolated corner to lament my puny machine.* You wouldn't happen to have any tips to share for us poor college folk, eh?

Rivarly posible in tip it?
There are dozens of small rivalries on tip.it. Yes, you are right in saying that most are confined to simple CWA battles. There are a few, however, that spill into both PvP and CWA, and it's a headache as much as it is 'thrilling'. Being part of a rivalry though is amazing. But when you're sitting on the outskirts and you're not directly involved...it's a bit like watching your friends play a two-player game and you're the third wheel. Sitting there, just watching, gets extremely dull after a while. And I'd say the same is true for both PvP-based, CWA-based, and CWA/PVP-based rivalries.

Your language of choice
The only language I know is Java. I don't really count SQL as a programming language, because I never got into PL/SQL.

Programming and Web Design subforum
Is the 'no homework help' stipulation truly necessary? Seems like excess verbage. I could just as easily say "This isn't for homework" for something about java stacks and queues, but it's actually a 10pt assignment that I'm completely and utterly stuck on. (Or, for those with less sincere motives, weasel the community into getting the ball rolling on a big project for me)

[TWR]Divine Vindicators defeat Legendz
DV - 193, LGZ - 50 However, because there is sufficient evidence proving that Bones_snipeu (formerly known as Gochance1) was in the battle and added to the memberlist immediately after the fight, 100 points will be deducted from DV's total score. The TWR will be updated momentarily. TWR updated.

clan and teams, whats the difference?
A lot of people share your opinion, and I can understand why. But think of it this way: you have a pk trip and you have some guests along with you. You and say, one or two EoS members lose the fight, and the victor posts "<Clan> + EoS versus <Winning Clan>" Is that accurate? No. Generally you correct them, right? After all, who in their right mind would say that one or two members constitutes a whole clan? It's a misconception that, generally, is corrected during the course of the aftermath topic. So tell me then, if people can correct this misconception on aftermath topics, why can't they do this when it comes to teams? It's something I don't understand; and to me, it just seems a bit ignorant to make a blanket statement like that.

clan and teams, whats the difference?
1) What draws the line between clans and teams The activities they perform, the strictness of their rules regarding what you can/can't be in, activity...but most importantly, how long they'll be open. 2) If your in a team do u PK? I've been in only one or two teams. They were never permanent things for me. 3)Do you think team's should be PKing aswell as doing cwa? PvP oriented teams are not exclusively limited to CWA. Look at teams that we have here: TPR, Silent Ember, Legends Never Die. They've done pk trips once and a while. It depends on what kind of community you have to work with. To say that the wilderness is clan-exclusive territory is the kind of attitude that leads to 'OMG TEH CLAN WURLD IZ DYING!@" mentality. 4)If your answer is yes to #3 then dont you think it is classed as multi clanning? No. Whatever clan an individual belongs to has a responsibility to clearly define what's okay and what's not when it comes to teams. That is not a fansite's job nor a community's job to tell them otherwise. If a person can be loyal to both clan and team, I feel you've got no right to crucify me for it. If I'm in a clan that PKs in the GMT timezone, one that I'm loyal and active in, but I want a little late night action (:twss:) I should be fully within my right to join a team of any type. It does not lessen my loyalties for any side. I don't see why clans complain.

19-Jan-2010 - Barbarian Assault Improvements
I don't care what they do to Barbarian Assault. I cannot achieve any defender points over 50. I have thrown my hands up, hung my head in shame, and let those little Pennance Running jerkfaces run to their heart's content unchecked. I hate the defender role. Everything else sounds cool. Though I can't for the life of me figure out why they keep messing with the Abyssal Whip--it had just gotten to the perfect color pallet (it looked like the Abyssal Demon color scheme) and animations!

TPR's Day out at w141
Most of those accusations of adding members without applications that I remember, TK was exonerated for, with the exception of an isolated incident or two. The remark about flaming, well, I guess then my memory is a bit selective then--but it's a bit hypocritical to criticize one clan for flaming when the other flames themselves.
-
TPR's Day out at w141
TK apologized, and say what you want about them but they usually give clean fights. This obviously wasn't the norm, so no need to jump on their backs about it. Good win, TPR. It's a shame your group is always so heated though. I know you're a group that doesn't take this game seriously, but not taking the game seriously isn't an excuse to abandon common courtesy.

TPR VS SE
I'm locking this as there's no substantial proof that a fight went on, no substantial claim--regardless if they left the portal or not, have some picture proof to back up your claim--to victory, and by the way this topic was posted will only incite flame. If the topic creator would like to repost this following the guidelines stated above, they are more than welcome to do so.

Clans [ Cough Teams ] Not following rules
This topic's discussion has run it's course. I'm licking locking this, but the topic creator is free to PM me if he disagrees. If anyone cares to know, the topic tasted like blueberries.
