What happened to the laughs?
And exactly how many of the threads here are Runescape related? Debate Club forum is for Runescape related debates. Ah. My mistake. ^^ As you can see, I'm not exactly familiar with the Off Topic boards. Pls dun stab me with your verbal pitchforks, I'm just learning :3

Another Anti-Gameplay Update from Jagex
Well that's why they're dedicating this year to game improvements, Madmanpur3. Personally I think they already took a step in the right direction with the most recent updates to Soul Wars, but with any luck they'll further update it as you've described, whether that be adding zeal or what.

A Roll-Back.
Because it's impossible to track which accounts crashed because of this. I am sorry but I have to highly disagree. I used to run a massive online game where several hundreds played at one time. We were able to tell as much as what buttons they pushed at what time, how long they held it, where their camera angle was, etc. There are logs for this. Like I said, they could tell who clicked on a penguin. They can tell who typed µ. They can tell who died. EDIT: Plus, they would know which accounts to look into seeing as the victims could post for their accounts to be looked into. Not all mmorpg's are the same. No one but Jagex knows how much information they record on any given users. Typing something and clicking on a penguin in order to trigger an action are different. If they were stored similarly, then people wouldn't have been wrongfully (albeit temporarily) banned for trying to abuse the glitch, because they would've had the "Game" chat output to go by. [/hide] However, Jagex is a huge company that deals with a huge amount of customers and players. We were fairly big, but no where near what RuneScape is. I wouldn't believe for a second that we had better logs then Jagex. On that same note, a huge customer base also means that if they did keep precise logs about all that junk, they'd be wasting HUGE amounts of space not only on their harddrives, but in backups. But what do I know.

Another Anti-Gameplay Update from Jagex
Oh really? Let's hear those changes. [Like this is the venue for it.] Listen. All they're doing is adjusting BH so that players that RWT can't do it as easily anymore. Why is everyone all of a sudden up in arms against Jagex about this? Because Chicken Little never stops seeing the sky falling on his head. I'm not thrilled that they're changing BH, but I personally never saw why it existed anyway. I know myself and a few others thought they'd completely remove it after the release of pvp worlds. I'm pleasantly shocked that they're at least trying to make it a viable minigame that fits their changing business plan.

Another Anti-Gameplay Update from Jagex
I am aware that there is a significant amount of LESS cc fraud happening. I never said that there wasn't. It's plausible. That's all I said. No, it lends credence to it, but it doesn't disprove my point. I've seen level 80's/level 90's autoing before. Or have you not seen green dragon autoers before? Apparently not. EDIT: This, I'd like to add, is why this particular point is MOOT and shouldn't be discussed. You still haven't referred to my other points. I don't know what you're trying to "win" here. By the way, nice job at keeping this flame free. You've only proved my point that this is a useless, discussion-less topic.

Another Anti-Gameplay Update from Jagex
If someone so desired to train an account up to lvl 100, that's not quite hard to do. A week or two of intensive work at best. And if you're neck-deep in credit card fraud, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a team of people training up that account. You cannot say that they're unrelated. Just like I can't say for sure that they're related. The only one who knows is Jagex. What we DO KNOW, as players, is that Jagex's scope has expanded from credit card fraud, to stopping RWTing to preserve the game's integrity. That is one reason why this change is happening. [/hide] I think you're misunderstanding the Credit Card fraud issue. Using CC fraud for members gives you a 2-10 day window of having members, after which you will be BANNED. The only characters worth using a stolen CC on for 2-10 days of members are LOW LEVEL THROWAWAYS (which allows you to macro and make gold faster than f2p, but still relatively slow, only worthwhile on a large amount of characters). I'm not talking about game companies who are power leveling an account, because that is completely unrelated to this situation. Credit Card fraud went hand in hand with macroing. Gold farmers would set up a bunch of low level bots and have them pick flax or whatever. HOWEVER, low level characters cannot transfer effectively through BH, which is why I am saying this theory is completely false. You're assuming they get members right away. Who's to say they do that? Again, you're making assumptions just as much as I am. And both of us have an equal chance of being wrong, so it's not even worth arguing. So you know, I DO understand RWT'ing, I just figured my explanation would follow with not getting members right away. And I didn't say they were powerlevelling the account to sell it, but powerleveling it to use it in credit card fraud. You say they can't effectively transfer...why? Get level 40 defense, you can wear every piece of a god armor except the rune plate. And if you buy the best food, you can tank quite easily. So you say it's completely false, I say it's completely plausible and that your argument is biased. And as I've previously mentioned, they've shifted away from the "CC Fraud" aspect and moved to doing it to protect the integrity of the game. Read my previous post, because I'm certain I've said it there. You must've missed it while arguing a moot point.

This is a gross over-exaggeration. Can you still skill with people? Can you still talk to people? Can you still BASICALLY INTERACT with other people? Yes. They're just changing an aspect of the game. We also don't know that Bounty Hunter's drop system is changing. As we know it, Bounty Hunter exists to allow people to have a "loot upon killing" experience. I can't see them changing that without changing the whole nature of the minigame and keeping it in the same place. No, I don't think they're going "WAY TOO FAR OMGH!@#!@" or that they're doing this just to inflate their ego, as you've said. It'll be a miracle if actual mature, flame-free discussion comes from this thread.

Copyright issues and such on YouTube
You're not, I do too. However, there's an ongoing fight against the illegal distribution of copyrighted materials going on across the world right now, not just in the USA. (See the Pirate Bay trials) That's why lots of websites are "cracking down" on it now. Once places such as the IRAA and the film industry realize they're fighting a losing battle, you might see some of these nazi-ish re-enforcements of lengthy, loophole-filled laws relaxing.

Copyright issues and such on YouTube
Well that's a lot of legality issues there. Another reason is that they might've had a true, legal argument that LittleKuriboh's videos were not parodies--as he originally intended--but satire. If they could successfully argue that, then DMCA falls into place, the video does not fall under fair use, and it gets taken down. You say they're scared like it's their fault. If anything, the dumb DMCA should be removed. It's a crippling law that lawyers bend to their advantage.

27th February - Temporary Closure of Bounty Hunter Craters
It's a mixed blessing. I know that a lot of the problems with BH are "RWT"ing...but some of the people that transfer there AREN'T selling RS Gold for cash. Some of them are trying to keep alive gift-giving, people helping others after being hacked, etc. Basically, they used the flaws of the current system to cope with the trade limitations placed on the game. Now that it's being removed, I'm a little happy and a little sad at the same time.

What happened to the laughs?
Personally I thought this is why we had a Debates forum and an Off Topic forum. Most of the threads in here are, essentially, debates. I would love to see a more lighter tone here. Alas! My friends have told me I'm as funny as a stick, although I insistently argue that the stick is quite good for a laugh.

Copyright issues and such on YouTube
Youtube is a different creature. It violates most copyright laws because once you put that video up, Youtube is creating ad revenue off the website. The most notable case of this is when they had the "Yugioh Abridged" videos taken down. While it was satire, and therefore completely legal, it was ILLEGAL to host it on Youtube, because youtube generates revenue from advertisements.

Slayer tasks problem
Have you done Smoking Kills? You start getting points after you've done the quest. ;) Alternatively, if you burothrope any task in between those 20 before you achieve "5 consecutive tasks" repeatedly you will not get points.

Blast Furnace...With Adamantite?
Well, I'm aware that Danzasiusdkfsklafskweqlp (sorry, I can't spell your name.) has a fantastic Blast Furnace guide that explains, in detail, how to use the blast furnace with mithril bolts. While I was there, a lot of the smithers talked about how using adamantite, via bolts or plates, was a lot better profit. So I thought, "Fantastic!" I immediately went out and bought 1k addy and a some coal, then went back to the blast furnace...only to find out that I can't unnote addy for a certain amount of money with that NPC. EDIT: Is it possible they weren't talking about addy at the blast furnace, but just regular smithing? I confess, I hadn't crunched the numbers. Can someone please enlighten me: is there a faster method to use adamantite at the blast furnace OTHER THAN running to Keldagrim's bank that I'm not aware of? If possible, please include the details. Thanks so much for your help in advance! ^^

Why are people against Communism? (EDITED)
Its basicly the utopia of society that never works. The fact that people are power mongers prevents any good of coming out of it. The fact that people need a leader, authority, prevents that, let alone how easily corruptible people are. I'm aware of the theory of communism (at a basic level, at least.) I also agree that it's vastly impractical on a large scale. There are communities that live together, share resources and money, and they prosper in simple ways that most people don't cherish as much (Mennonites? I'm not sure.). These communities are small and managable. Expand said community from 20 people to 200,000 people, and it's more chaotic and less practical.

Why are people against Communism? (EDITED)
People hate Communism because history has proven that it usually leads to corruption and abuse.

I just want 'em. -- Answered
Ahh, dk's. Well I guess that something I forgot to tell. I just don't like them.. And back when I was a noob I killed green drags, to boring imo. Explain the dragonhides please? It's basically just tanning regular hides and reselling them as fast as possible. If you found green dragons boring, you'll find this boring. I can still try to elaborate if you want. As for more conventional ways of making money... Since you're limiting yourself out of green dragons and boss hunting, you don't have a WHOLE lot of "fast money" options left. But what you can do is utilize Manage Thy Kingdom to the fullest to get a little extra out of your money over the long-haul.

My friend, click this link to be enlightened. What I've linked above is one of the best guides to use & learn how to solo Dagannoth Rex. You'll not have to struggle to find a world, it's relatively easy to get into the cave without a suicider, and it's fantastic money. If you find bosses aren't your flavor of the day, I suggest killing green dragons (250k+ per hr), or crafting black dragonhides and selling them back to the GE (this is 500k per hr if you do it right).

Unicorns
To be honest, it seems as if you answered your own question, OP. One of the few practical uses out there for a Unicorn is GWD/Boss hunting. If you won't be doing that until a while from now, there's no need to get it. Stick with prayer, max your combat, then get the Unicorn. Bunyip is suitable for 90% of the slayer tasks you'll be challenged with anyway, whereas a Unicorn is overkill.
