The followers of Zaros...Those poor souls. They have been fooled to believe in a fake God. They're certainly meaning well. But they're tumbling around in the darkness. There is hope for them though. All they need to do is to open their eyes and join us, the Saradomians, and everything will be forgiven. He, the Almighty Saradomin, will forgive them for their sins and bring them back into the light. So, fellow Zarosians, join us! All your sins will be forgiven and we offer you the chance to bath in the holy bath tubs and wash basins like all fellow Saradomians. Utter lies. Zaros is the only true Lord here. It's clear that the bath tub was his creation. As soon as he returns, he will trounce those who believe in Saradomin, confining them to washing with pails of water, whilst the true followers, those of Zaros, are freely allowed to bathe as they so choose, throughout the land. Zaros might have conceived the empty vessel, but it was Saradomin who filled it with its purifying waters. Heathen.

Yeah I misread and fixed my post accordingly :P

What I'm requesting is that you actually take a picture with a digital camera/cellphone with a camera/or a film camera and scan it. Once you have the file, use an image uploading site like www.imgur.com to upload your pictures. Then take the URL provided once uploaded and post it. Use the following tags to get your image to display: [img=your url here] As mentioned previously, without those I will lock this topic and I strongly discourage attempting to arrange a sale/purchase before these pictures have been provided. :)

To be honest, we've never had a case like this before. So this will be a...new experience, to say the least. :P I've spoken with an administrator and a few other moderators and the decision was made to allow this topic to stay open if you can at least verify ownership of those items. If you could take pictures of them, instead of just the ones you've found on Google, that would be great. Unfortunately, without those I'll have to lock the topic. Just as a note to our members: buying online can have some inherent risks and if you do this, make sure you arrange it on a verified site like eBay with a purchase/selling agreement to ensure you get the items you were promised (and the seller gets the money they were promised!)

Moved to the DGSweeper help board. Did you click the button that says "Download now!" on the DGsweeper page?

I wrote a review for Verizon Wireless without a Verizon email. I just had to send in a blacked out check-stub which just showed my name and their logo. It wouldn't be too hard to obtain a Jagex check stub and just photoshop information in. I'll post what I saw on Reddit, taken from the glassdoor website: "Since we're unable to fully verify the identity of an anonymous user, we require each user to certify their employee relationship to the company when they post any content. We also require all users to validate their email address before their posts are made available to the community. This verification process allows us to put measures in place to identify suspicious users and/or posts. And all of these, combined with active community moderation and our commitment to review every post, allow us to have confidence in our information." So it's a verified email and proof of relationship to that company they're reviewing, then that information is checked by their reviewing/moderation staff, then made visible. Mod Mike posted this, which I kind of thought was funny in a "Really?" sort of way: I will say that just because employees might leave disgruntled, or they were from low leveled positions, doesn't mean they're "useless" or didn't have their ear to the ground to learn company politicking. In this case it's the common denominators in all the reviews that are the most important, not necessarily the 'recommendations' or doom and gloom business predictions.

Additionally since they now have a mage attack, which they use much more frequently than normal dragonfire, it *might* help your ability to survive.

Why does it NEED it? Why can't it just be lower-tiered armor? (Maybe someone could explain this better for me because I don't understand the current problem. XD)

It looks really great but so did the ps2 version when upres'd on a backwards compatible system. But meh, just picking at old wounds now haha. I'm also interested in if it plays the same.

Of course 50k a day isn't gamebreaking, nor does it destroy achievements previously gained. I was arguing on the basis it was a blanket 50% boost to XP throughout the whole month, which on the information available at the time, including precedent of XP giveaways earlier this year (one million XP literally handed away in summer just for being a member), was a perfectly reasonable conclusion to jump to. There is no aura that has a duration of 24 hours and a cooldown of zero. We knew straight off the bat that the bonus exp was awarded via an aura because of the login banner. I don't think it was a reasonable conclusion to jump to unless you failed to recognize that it said "aura". Although that is an understandable mistake to make, that doesn't make the conclusion any more sensible.

That's what we all knew he meant, he just didn't go to any sort of lengths to explain it :P

Yeah, if you're some young kid fresh out of university with impressive strengths in design/coding/whatever or you're hired to the Customer Service side of things, it's a great job to work up a resume and reap the benefits (assuming you're hired under the conditions that allow you to have access to those perks, I have no idea how that works within Jagex and England.) EDIT: At least, it seems like it anyway.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread
Kimberly replied to sephiroth_king's topic in Off-Topic
The gamefaqs board is pretty damn active given how long after release it is. http://www.gamefaqs....crolls-v-skyrim (360 board) or http://www.gamefaqs....crolls-v-skyrim (pc board) or http://www.gamefaqs....crolls-v-skyrim (ps3) Just be warned that the regulars there can be complete dicks if you're in the wrong about lore or game storyline. Best to go in there making no assertions and being more neutral than those guys from futurama or they will attempt to eat you alive. Overall it's not a fun environment for someone like me, but you might like it more. -
EDIT: I saw this on reddit too, OP :o! 6 out of 17 were listed as current employees at the time of review, and many of those reviews echo what we see in the former employee entries in the space of a year. I agree with you and Xen that the problems by some of the more dramatic reviewers are a bit overblown, but there still seems to be a trend here (see below response.) There were a handful of those that mostly said the same thing as the more harsh critiques, but far more composed and professional...Unfortunately it ends up boiling down to the same key components: Communication problems within the staff archaic organizational methods concerns with business direction and expansion concerns with upper management (though more specialized roles tend to have a more positive outlook on this than the customer support roles) --- Overall I don't know how I feel about this site getting publicized like this. I don't think the things listed in these reviews are any huge revelation, but they do paint a very depressing picture. We can all get together and rabble-rouse with the best of the RSOF dregs at our worst days here on our little isolated fansite communities. It becomes more about of blowing off steam and then getting back to the daily routine than truly giving good feedback. I think deep down, we know this, and in part dismiss the doom-and-gloom naysaying. But after we saw the extremely high turnover this past year, the nearly defiant "Come get me" responses from some of the Jmods concerning the direction the company has taken, and our own nasty little tin-hat conspiracies and...well, it almost becomes too easy an answer to grasp and cling to as we brutishly slap at our chests and bellow "We told you so!" as loud as anyone could hear. I'm torn between wanting to believe this as the proof so long searched for, and wanting to dismiss it out of hand as a bunch of disgruntled ex-employee venting. And what I struggle with, is I can rationally make a case for either. (Or at least, they seem rational to me.) Overall...meh. Even dismissing it, knowing it would get such a large, negative impact on the community is depressing in its own right. Blaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

They work just fine for me. If you're still having problems with them though you might want to post on this thread. -
Did anyone else notice the old portal sounds in the old tower? You heard them in the office opposite of the Red's tower, by some book shelves in the study, etc. I wonder if that was just an oversight.

After all these years, I know the way RS pronounces "thingummywut"
-
But if they're repeatedly opening new FC's and having them closed so fast that they're resorting to hosting without an FC, killing their rep, and making no progress in their "crusade"? That's not "winning" in my book.

I found the current tutorial more "adventurous" than going on some weird, divorced island that just had "tutors" who barely taught you the mechanics of the game. It was lengthy, but no moreso than other tutorials you'd find today. One of runescape's biggest strong points has always been its story-telling and lore, and the tutorial plays to these strengths by throwing you straight into it with some awesome graphics and audio work to boot. They seem to be aware of the fact that quests got a bit dummed down, yet they're stuck between a rock and a hard place. The blunt fact of it all is that people are lazy and they want things right there for them. Mass appeal is the most profitable. But how can they compensate that fact? Making the stories you're playing more engaging or thrilling. Carneilian Rising or Stolen Hearts were good examples of that. Unfortunately there's still a backlog of over 100 quests that need rebalancing to bring the mass appeal in line with down-right good storytelling. There's so much work they need to do, yet so much they need to keep pushing forward on, that now they're stuck. Unless they spend a sizable and expensive amount of time to go back and fix the foundations of their game -- the locations, the storytelling, the balance of the quest, the utility of the areas -- they'll continually be left in the dust by their competitors. Immersion is everything, and having areas still the same as the early years of RS2 are deadly to it.

It is a waste of their time; they just haven't realized it yet. By hosting without an FC and allowing this large amount of scamming to occur, they're killing their reputation faster than this stunt has. If they destroy it completely, they'll be SoL and just end up going to pay a rank deposit at another popular FC anyway which is pretty much what most of them are trying to avoid. I doubt this is an annoyance to Jagex. Given how fast the locks are starting to happen, they've likely started to automate the process. Unless you're suggesting they want to annoy machines? The crusade is pathetic and ineffective, hurts their reputations, and wastes everyone's time while allowing innocent users to get scammed heavily in the confusion. Yes, it's so funny -- or it would be if it was working. The only thing I found mildly amusing was the name change thing and let's be honest, jmods are not dumb enough to let that happen again.

2.7% Crit chance you mean, right? I thought the critical hit bonus was only 1.2 to what you were going to hit. I would think there's a difference between those two things.
-
Why wouldn't they just let someone else host the FC instead of another one of Fishy's alts? It just seems like they're doing this intentionally to try to "beat the system" but it's just a waste of everyone's time.

Are you sure it hasn't just moved to the bottom of the screen? IIRC the nav bar we're accustomed to seeing on the left hand side of the screen will now appear at the bottom if your window width is below a certain amount.
