Shelter - Work to live, or live to work - you need some form of shelter for an adequate life. How big, and how much it costs to maintain comes down to where you live and how you live. Love - What your partner does or doesn't do, how they live etc, is Irrelevant - it's about finding your own "soulmate" and who you wish and choose to spend your time with, and "with". Health - Look after this, the longer your life expectancy can be (Generally). Your nutritional intake is not consistent with your lifestyle, and is only affected by income. (You don't have to be an athlete, to eat like one) Purpose - Probably the most important aspect. How you derive purpose is an individual choice and ideology. Society can shape your circumstances into choosing your purpose, but never should it define it. Whether your purpose is to work a carreer toward something you feel passionately about or your purpose is to provide shelter and food for a loved one (or yourself) this is obviously a hugely variable factor - but ultimately should dictate the reason why you get out of bed in the morning. Responsibility - If you are to have kids (You don't have to, or might not be able to), you have responsibilities - You must provide, sacrifice and raise your children. How you do this is completely individual, but I imagine for most people, they become the most important aspect of your life and generally shift your purpose in life. Social The real grey area - again an individual aspect, if you go to work, school that involved interacting and seeing other people this is generally enough to maintain conversational and life skills. Should you wish to see friends or colleagues more, that is an individual prerogative and if you have other essential life criteria already filled - mightn't be the highest on your agenda. (If you can think of other essential human needs feel free to add them) I think we've established that you can have all of these things spending 10 hrs a day playing a game. For those who only think we can live a generic hollywood-esque lifestyle to attain all the things we need or want as a human being, perhaps need to expand their minds more and see that there are in fact, multiple ways to "live".

I think what efficiency fails to take into account is the click per action or that it assumes the only thing you are doing on the computer, is playing Runescape. I would regard doing Ivy as efficient if someone were doing something else on the computer that otherwise they would normally just log off Runescape to do. but with a simple alt-tab and click, you can gain 50-60k W/c xp an hr, that you wouldn't otherwise get. Taking this latter approach I was able to level Woodcut from 81-91 last week, whereas normally I'd of just logged off if I was playing another game.

Abby Demons are 1/900 or so (4 hours off task at abbys is 200 hr? max) Spiritual Mages don't drop them Living Rock creatures are Cb ~130 avg so about 1/800 at a very slow kill rate. This is why you aren't getting any. The 100k slayer xp figure on average is based on killing the 10 best killrate/drop rate slayer tasks available from Kuradel. Not just random tasks.

Can't say i'll be rushing to get a minor upgrade to an untradeable item. But each to their own. Now if theres money to be made... -
I think it's worth using the slash option at skeletal wyverns - however I don't really have any data or anything to back it up. But since they are weaker to slash than stab it may make a difference.

That would explain why it NEVER loads for me. First thing I do is click it then alt tab, lol. Also same as why I couldnt get my own to work the other day, until I went afk for a drink and came back, et voila.

Check Grimy's summoning spreadsheet in Archive of Wisdom - Since it imports GE data, it'll tell you whether to Scroll > Pouch > Shards

Would Runescape still be here without Fan-sites?
Vex replied to Danqazmlp's topic in General Discussion
The greater need for fan-sites and external communities, the more the game company has failed to deliver. -
Would you like to see GM driven events in Runescape?
Vex replied to magic82's topic in General Discussion
Eh, just get Guild Wars 2 when it comes out. This will be based around Dynamic Content & spontaneous events. Also I think the mechanics of Runescape would severely limit what "events" can be held, outside the norm. You can't have a GM specific event, as each server only holds 2k people, and if you can't get on, then you are automatically excluded. I believe D&D's which are community supported - See, Penguins, shoot stars, fish flingers, evil tree, etc. Are sort of dynamic events in Runescape. Also Runescapes version of these side activities is to create a Minigame for it. Which provides plenty of variety, via the mechanics of the game at hand. That's without the death system in Runescape. Unlike other games where there is limited if not any death penalty. Lastly, because Runescape is a thriving game(playerbase wise) - with many automated D&D's and the like, there is no need for GM intervention or buggering about. -

Vex replied to magic82's topic in General Discussion
We already have a GM driven event, it's called bonus XP weekend, and we all know how amazing that is. The best thing Jagex GM's can do, is to do nothing at all. The less involvement they have, the better. -
Magic & Cannon will kill them the fastest. Since you don't have turmoil you'd be wanting to do that I guess. Although you also don't have a wolper - or yak. But yeah since the lack of turmoil I imagine fire surge will still be a lot faster.

I live in preparation for the 52 virgins in the afterlife that await me. Or so my bomb instructor says.

Click the guide in my sig, 100k slayer XP is average with the recommended list of 10-12 tasks. 2-2.5hrs per effigy.

No like, top 100 World rankings. Just wondered if anyone followed the top guilds from here, since cataclysm is almost out the race to clear content will be back on and since 10/25 give pretty much the same rewards now, be interesting to see how top guilds approach it.

Does anyone play high end PvE?

Yeah i'd recommend changing your location to the UK, that way you only pay £3.50 a month if you use a debit/credit card. And your bank will charge minimal fee to convert your currency.

Lol, I was just making attempts at humour but I guess too many people take things a bit too seriously on these boards. Anyway I think the biggest thing they are lacking on shirt design - is humour. Taking RS or community memes would be more of a selling point than some logo that says RUNESCAPE on the front of a shirt. Whether or not it is considered nerdy is irrelevant as when there are a plethora of T-Shirts available elsewhere for cheap it becomes hard to justify buying their apparel. If Jagex was a small gaming company just starting out instead of a multi million pound corporation, you'd perhaps feel more inclined to support them. Or if they donated 50% of the profits to a charity (Blizzard donates 50% of it's store products to make a wish foundation) from the store. But unfortunately since they are just £2 cotton t-shirts from Bangladesh that have been stamped through a t-shirt press, you aren't going to get quality gear, so the design had better be at least, interesting or more importantly (in my opinion) humoures. As for basement dwelling, I'd take a basement over an office any day, damn England with no basements.

It does say and/or, but unlike other people on this forum (not you) I can't be bothered to argue endlessly over something trivial. We have 2 different perceptions of what grinding means - fair enough. I also dislike the bonus exp weekend, as it forces you to play or miss out - Anyway then there is the other term "farming", if your not grinding levels you are farming gold essentially. However there are obviously things that don't constitute as grinding in Runescape - Being Quests, Achievements(kind of), Minigames, PvP. There are also 2 skills that do not constitute as grinding in a traditional sense. That is Slayer and Dungeoneering, however these may both feel repetitive, the scenario's each time are generally completely different (more so in dungeoneerings case)
-
Whether you level a skill 5minutes at a time or 10 hours at a time. There is no escaping the repetitive nature of "levelling" in this game. Looking at your stats you've done plenty of that. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grinding_(video_gaming) Yes it's wikipedia, however due to the modern nature of gaming it pretty much sums up what the gaming community considers a grind. I believe the term for bonus xp weekends, is poopsocking. Ie, play for 10hrs straight. I don't need to give you any hints on how that term was derived.

Runescape is, has and always will be a grindfest. I honestly don't understand how or why people start playing the game if they don't like grinding lol. Don't like grinding? MMO's probably aren't for you. In other games where you don't have skills - you are "farming" which is essentially, the same thing.
