  1. £3 a month is already basically free... lol. OT: If you change your location, the payment system changes to your countries currency. HOWEVER Jagex has the prices fixed at what exchange rates to the £ was almost 10 years ago. For Example; change your location to Australia, they have to pay ~10$AU a month, which nowadays is more like £6. Bit of a rip off imo. Be interesting to see if they're even supposed to charge vastly different amounts of money for the same service... Yes there is a currency conversion fee, but I pay in British pounds as I live in the UK, with an Australian bank account. I just checked my statement, I pay $5.60AU, if I was actually in Australia - I'd have to pay nearly 10$. Is Jagex exploiting foreign players?
  2. Completely different type of game & gameplay. I left WoW due to it being too reliant on other people whereas RS is mainly solo with limited optional teamwork elements. Also if WoW was "free" you would still have to buy the game + 3 expansions. To be fair for the £10? a month free you get a LOT of content. Due to the amount of patches and content introduced each expansion it would be impossible to balance the game around making that content optional. They have already introduced various items in the Blizzard store for purchase that people lap up like idiots. With Runescape all it requires is an internet connection and a basic computer. It's also only £3 a month for membership which is next to nothing. So nowadays I play other games for my "immersive" gaming experience, and runescape for my online-grindfest fix.
  3. 50 days with a week off for xmas and new year, 5hrs a day on average at your 100k an hr at sawmill? I guess so?
  4. Just going to give some feedback on this topic. I just tried fish flingers out and i highly recommend it using cc "fish fling1" Took me 1 game to understand what was going on and what the chat commands meant. You basically get all 6 fish correct within the first 5minutes, then spend the next 10 at just one spot accumulating fish/points. With no need to click or anything. You can do this D&D 10 times a week. So at my level (81) I can receive around 18k xp per game, so 180,000 fishing xp per week for MINIMAL effort. Highly recommend
  5. Hey good luck on your goals. Just wondering since you log your slayer data, if you wanted to give this a look. http://forum.tip.it/topic/280097-wip-data-gathering-project-effigy-guide-soon/ It's a communal spreadsheet designed to collect multiple people's slayer logs/monster data on effigies, visages and unique drops. With big sample sizes it will be easier to find drop rates. And if you are both going for 50m slayer xp that's a lot of data. Read the thread and send me a PM if you want to help.
  6. I think if you check grimy's farming efficiency spreadsheet - It has the gp/xp of doing individual patches based on herbs. So that should tell you. If you are only after XP, you can do palms/magics/calquats. Have your spirit tree in brim, buy tai bwo wannai teleports off GE for calquat. (Do the calquat every 2 days as it can take over 24hr so it's inefficient to turn up there and have it not grown. Fruit tree & Tree runs are pretty quick to do, 4-5minutes a piece. If you are farming magics you can do maybe 2 a day. (if you work, one before, one after, etc.) If you are not in a rush to gain farming levels. Only do Palm & Calquat, as the time spent yields greater XP. (And palm is cheaper gp/xp than magic for similar xp, you could obviously do both to finish farming quicker and use the extra 5minutes a day on something else.) For herb farming check the individual gp/xp efficiency values on the spreadsheet. It's probably definitely worth doing Falador + Ardougne + Catherby patches if you are on lunar + achieve diary tele's.
  7. Even without doing much luring at all, 140+ kills an hour should be achieveable with that range gear and cannon. Range is honestly the easiest and trumps melee in every way apart from max kills per hr with overloads & summoning potions etc. Guthans will slow you down a lot, melee is only viable with soul split flicking and all the max gear. Range is just so much easier and is well worth the slightly reduced kill rate. Also do you find yourself ever waiting for spawns? And with ranging, you should consider swapping to normal prayers and even using the 10% range prayer which has a low drain rate will help a bit. Basically cannon should be doing 50% of your total damage if not more for range. Luring will speed up kills a great deal, just getting most to be double-shot will give you probably 120+ at least an hr.
  8. Frost Dragons breath attack despite being ranged, is like most other "leather" dragons rather than metal. The only reason you'd use super antifires is if you already have them and just incase your magic prayer runs out for whatever reason (Dc/not paying attention) and for 100% protection during soul-split flicking.. Otherwise antifire + magic prayer is 100% protection without dfire shield.
  9. A well done video guide is the answer. Visual aides are fantastic for generating interest in learning. Video those <30minute runs, do text aides & a running commentary. Make sure the video is in HD so people can read the text and easily see what you are clicking. Making several videos would probably be a lot of work for 1 person, so maybe create a Dungeoneering youtube channel between a few of you keen on doing the project. That way you can provide multiple videos explaining ALL aspects of Dungeoneering. C1's, Starting off, Hood/no hood methods. (bosses probably don't need doing) & anything else you think is relevant As for the culture aspect that can only really come from videos and well known players endorsing said video & the fansites doing a frontpage feature with the video & guide on the front. I definitely know if the top players endorsed the video and put a feature on their youtube pages it'd get another 50k views + Since RSOF doesn't allow external links or mention of youtube it's difficult to penetrate the masses but you could try and cut/paste your guide from here onto RSOF. But it's all about exposure and marketing the video/project. Those who want to learn will look up various guides on beforehand, however you will never ever change the people who don't care about being bad or have no interest in being better. Just what i've learnt from WoW Raiding scene I guess. Although instancing makes up a far bigger percentage of gameplay than dungeoneering does in runescape unfortunately.
  10. Check out the runecrafting guide in AoW, it breaks down all the methods nicely. Guide & the xp/gp spreadsheet from the guide. Spreadsheet
  11. Lava titan = Faster xp Pack Yak = More convenience If you are doing a LOT of mining. You will probably want the pack yak - Filll it up, fill invent up, run to deposit box, deposit all - repeat. ~30sec round trip Otherwise you'll have to drop - which might become tedious after a while.

-Gold: 11,452 (Barker Toads)- ~5m gp ~1m xp [Pouch] -Green: 5,698 (Unicorn Stallion Scrolls) ~ 880K Xp, 15.4m OR Fruit Bat ~700K Xp, 5.5M gp [scrolls] -Blue: 1,664 (500 Lava tians + 1100 Geyser titans) -- Lava Titan (365k Xp 800k Gp) + 1164 Geyser Titan (900k xp, 11M Gp) [Lava titan pouch - Geyser Shards] OR 1100 Moss titans + Scrolls - 800k Xp - ~3.6m Cost (scrolls) -Crimson: 7,420 ( ~2000 - 2500 - 2800 Swamp Titans (depending if you pick uni/fruit bat & moss titans) - (750k-934k / 6 - 7.5m - 8m) This should get you 95 Summoning. Then ~2200 Iron Titan to 96 - (~950k xp, 3.5m) 96+ Pack yaks with remaining charms turning them into scrolls - which is about 2gp/xp Cost for ~96 summoning ~41m (Unis) ~35m (Fruit bats) ~ 25m(Fruit bats & moss titans) For a loss of ~280k Xp you save around 15-16m - But use an extra ~800 crimson charms (meh) This math is rough since the spreadsheet doesnt seem to be working for me properly at the moment. ------- GOLD > Barker Toad ~ 5m gp GREEN> Fruit bat (Scrolls) ~ 5.5M Gp BLUE > Lava Titan (Pouch) + Moss titan(Scrolls) ~ 4.5m GP CRIMSON > Swamp Titans (Shards) > Iron titans (Scrolls) > Pack Yak (Scrolls) ~13m(not including 96+) Put in your order for 2200 Iron Platebodies now since they will take a while to buy unless you have plenty of friends (100 every 4 hrs)

    Hey.

Swap the cape for an ardy (3) cape (+6 prayer +6 magic). Bringing proselyte is debateable - when luring on the way back to the safespot you have a few seconds to change back into mage gear anyway before you can attack them so it's not really a hassle. Honestly with the prayer gear etc, you will outlast your prayer pots probably - Unless you bring 5k+ barrages, or don't get bored. Bring a unicorn initially in case you take some damage on the way there. and go to Ooglog spa before running there (makes it a lot easier). You also currently do not need throwing axes due to a graphical glitch that has changed the terrain. You have soul split so drop the soul runes - One soul split barrage will heal you ~300lp

If you make fruit bats with greens and scroll them it costs about 8gp/xp, unicorns are ~18gp/xp if you scroll them. Barker toads for gold, swamp titans for crimson & geysers for blue. Do Gold > Green > Blue > Crimson. Sell barker toads as pouches - rebuy shards Sell fruitbat/uni as scrolls - rebuy shards Trade geyser titans back in for shards (you should now be 92+ so you can trade them back in +3lvls) Use Crimsons to 95 - Trade swamp titans in for shards Make Iron Titans - Turn into scrolls (Put in an order for ~2000 platebodies now as you can only buy 100 every 4/hrs) http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=tVdsRB9IpF9iHd-QcXUFbqg&output=html Or make your own mind up from here. 15. 274 crimson charms 135 gold charms 67 green charms 9 blue charm Is the average from 1k bursts. 1k bursts will take 2 hours to cast. 1052 per cast - ~3350gp per crimson (10% runes saved with Sol accounted for) Bursting isn't overly amazing anymore for the cost unless you struggle with waterfiends. And just for comparison for when you can barrage (or for others), here is some data. Using battle robes & Sol - Battle robes last 8 hours of barraging & take just over 90minutes to recharge with minimal effort (f2p fog) Duration: 5:00 Barrage Cast: ~2500 Bloods Used: 2070 Deaths Used: 4196 Waters Used: 6015 Loot Gained: ~150k Total Cost: ~2,500,000 Charms Gained: Blue: 29 Green: 183 Gold: 412 Crimson: 933 ~2679gp per crimson.
  16. Just want to point out you missed Spiritual Mages off your list - But I assume they are cancelled due to zero effigies & avg profit & low xp. The main factors for keeping those tasks are: Nechs/Waterfiends/Skeletal Wyverns is the Charms or Sum xp/hr. Abyssals - potential ~2m/hr profit. Terror Dogs - Quick points to cancel more things Tzhaar - You enjoy doing Jad/Fast XP So I think, based on your priority list - Go ahead and cancel Nechs/Wf's. Keep Abyssals as i'm not sure about the math(cbf and its late someone else can do it) if your income is 3.5m p/hr and you pass up a potential 2m p/hr how that interacts with one another, and whether the additional ~10k+ slayer xp an hr elsewhere is worth it etc. Terror Dogs - I would do for the points, they are 1 click on the slayer ring, boom 10mins with a steel titan, back to kuradel 18pts, new task plz, etc. Tzhaar - I honestly cannot give you an answer on these. Effigy Data is a bit inconclusive, (unless only 1 type of tzhaar is killed). However I would probably only do these IF you don't have enough points to cancel. TLDR: Order of importance based on your 3 priorities (To keep) 1. Abyssals 2. Terror Dogs 3. Waterfiends 4. Nechryael 5. Tzhaar (Cancel 3/4/5 - if you run out of points stop cancelling one of them, which ever you prefer). Without factoring charms, I cannot make an argument to keep them over cancelling them. (Based on your 3 priorities)
  17. Based on your stats in your signature I would block the following & assuming you don't mind using a cannon. Aberrant Spectres [Cannon] Abyssal Demons(Not Avail yet) Aquanites (Don't unlock) Black Demons [Cannon] Black Dragons Bloodvelds [Cannon Mutated's] Blue Dragons Dagannoths [Cannon] Dark Beasts (Not Avail yet) Desert Strykewyrms (Not Avail yet) Dust Devils Fire Giants Gargoyles Greater Demons Hellhounds [Cannon] Ice Strykewyrm (Not avail yet) Iron Dragons Jungle Strykewyrms [bLOCK] Kalphites [bLOCK] - Living Rock Creatures [bLOCK] Mithril Dragons Nechryael(Not avail yet) Skeletal Wyvern Spiritual Mage Steel Dragon Suqah [Cannon] Terror Dog TzHaar Warped Tortoises Waterfiend Green I would do, white up for interpretation That leaves you with 2 additional blocks, with the addition of Korasi's this makes dragon tasks easier. Warped tort's are viable at the moment due to massive inflation of shells, but are worth blocking once they go back to normal. Also by doing the dragon tasks, they will generally pay for the cannonballs for the faster tasks. Two other things you have to take into account is charms & effigy drops. With the addition of blocking you can cancel tasks - so the quick tasks, Mith Drags, Terror Dogs, Suqah's are unlocked due to quick points. The ones I have autoblocked are for this reason. Kalphite - mediocre xp when cannoning - hard to find an empty world to cannon in that's full enough (spawn rates) Jungle Strykes - Poor xp, poor charms - mediocre cash - ANNOYING, don't know about you but I hate having to pop 'em out of the ground. Living Rock - Good XP, Poor charms, Poor cash(Assuming you don't mine them as it takes too long). Very Long task (can get boring and disheartening) Main reason is your block and cancel list will evolve as you level. The only one I would have perm blocked is Kalphite & maybe Jungle strykes (unless you enjoy poppin em outta the ground) Hope this helps, if you need effigy/slayer xp/summoning xp rates check Zarfots mega slayer guide on RSOF.
  18. If you get to 94 you can just use a fletching potion for a +3 level boost guaranteed. You can cut magic/yew logs and sell the unstrung version. Losing next to no money, this is Half the Xp/Hr of fletching bolts and is only a couple of clicks every 30secs. (~140-160k xp hr) Fletch Adamant Bolts or Broad Arrows, you will lose money but is up to 400-500k fletching XP per hour. is a LOT of clicking even with mousekeys. Also with max GE buy limits it is hard to acquire enough bolts to fletch.
  19. On the topic of packyak, how often can an item be banked? And from that, how much do summoning pots increase the hourly figure?
  20. From what I gather in regards to Void Melee & Void Range, when you are not slaying and do not need the defence these offer a faster kill rate than the usual gear. However with void mage I am unsure the difference between 30% accuracy & magic attack bonus of ahrims. I would be killing mithril dragons with this setup. I can kill them in void melee (with the new prayer bonus can almost last an hour) so from a defensive point of view it doesn't matter. So, what would gain a faster kill rate, Ahrim etc, or Void Magic. And, is there any scenarios in which Void is worth using for magic over Ahrim's. Thanks
  21. If you don't like grinding why are you even playing Runescape. Other than Korean MMO's it's the largest grindfest there is. However continuing the fishing argument, if there were to be a 95 fishing req it would have to serve as an incentive rather than a requirement. ie, the reward from the quest is a new cave with access to new fish, which give more xp/gold whatever (and require 95 fishing to fish). Rather than you need 95 fishing to "fish up" a boss or something. Which doesn't really serve a purpose other than a rather arbitrary requirement.
  22. Saradomin Sword has crush style. But you could sell the SS & buy a Zpear I guess. For Waterfiends etc.
  23. You have to make good use of your rally moves. Chastise ravagers/spinners when they are close, use your champion to kill most things (it has 800 health) and you can regenerate him if they focus it. You will lose most of your low health units, it is inevitable but as long as you kill some of their fodder aswell you can just kill most with the champion.
  24. It adds +4 Prayer to top and legs, so a total of +8 prayer, not sure about defensive stats.
  25. I'm wondering with the sort of tri-dialogue options for this quest, if they are trying to perhaps pave the way for paragon/renegade situations & make players have to choose the outcome of certain future quests. There would also be alternative rewards depending on how you handle the quest & would put more emphasis on reading the quest dialogue instead of spamming click going reward plz. (I do the latter atm, because I simply don't feel the need to care about RS Lore) Or the writers were extremely bored with the exciting month that is September at Jagex HQ & decided to triple the content for the one short quest.
