  1. You know i'm talking about just the chest and bottoms right, nothing to do with the helm
  2. Because the top and bottom offer similar defence to black dhide but have +4 prayer on each piece. They are perfectly viable for miths/waterfiends for slaying.
  3. Yeah spear and karils/dhide is fine, even void elite top & bottom, although you only have to kill 4 so invent space isn't an issue. Prot melee and eat i guess. Unicorn etc only necessary for camping.
  4. Cave Crawler charms - is Green > gold > crimson > blue in frequency - it's about 45k summoning xp per hr (~650 kills) using, steel titan, geyser, unicorn, barker toad as the xp per charm. I think this is one of the hour long samples i did. Using non optimal gear and wrong cannon loc, low pop world etc. 146 green 43 gold 26 crimson 5 blue ~620 kills. No Charm ~ 60% Green ~ 25% Gold ~ 10% Crimson ~ 5% Blue ~1% Would be my rough guesses of charm rates.
  5. They lasted me 8 hours of barraging rock lobs. Where you only wear them 50% of the time in combat.
  6. From what I remember, Grimy doesn't factor in mousekeys in his spreadsheet xp rates.
  7. The biggest argument is, if you are low/mid levelled, then you haven't actually run out of content yet, so why the need for a content update? The majority of games keep expanding their end game model. Along the way they make vast improvements to the levelling process and make X thing easier than it was a year ago, or something like that. In Jagex case they have made several updates (Damage, new quest interface, objective tracking etc) to try and make starting the game easier and up to date with 2010's hold-your-hand gaming. Now the biggest problem with Runescape is, levels rise exponentially. I think it's probably widely agreed you can achieve 50 in all stats within a couple of weeks not playing excessively each day & this I guess would be the beginning of "mid level". So I'd seriously doubt you have completed all content available to you, be it minigames quests etc, in that 2 week period you spent to transition from low-mid level. Now the problem with Runescape is, there is no single point at which you can call "end game" simply because of the levelling system, it's all one big grindfest & the gap between levels is exponential. Once you obtain 99 all stats, other than opening effigies there is no additional content available to you, that you couldn't already do (Even effigies you can open at 97 or lower due to boosts). (Ok so there is the high-level forum, where you can potentially moan with others in the same situation that yo've completed their animated excel sheet of a game and would like some more content pl0x). So for those veterans who maxed long ago, other than get some arbitrary number on the highscores page to a 200m, what else is there to do? If it's something like combat or slayer, you could argue the xp is a by-product of "hunting for drops" or making money from both PvE or PvP. But something like firemaking or another inherently pointless skill past X level, other than random rankings and E-peen there is no credible use for it. From Jagex's point of view, they look at their balance sheet and their statistics of active/inactive players and see where the most active part of the player base is and where the money is coming in. Now the developers don't want to design content that will only be used by say 1-2% of the Runescape population. As opposed to ~50% (Mid level +) of the population. Now since there is no real "difficulty" in runescape, only "time" as a scaling factor. Unless they release more content like dungeoneering with a scale of 1-120 (Where every level is relevant and rewards for everyone, although the last batch of rewards are utter fail and they could honestly do a bit better.) There is no way to combine an update to appease each individual player base. All they can really do is try to shorten the time it takes to get from mid-high level. Be it via bonus xp weekends or making skills less tedious/faster xp. However from quests - you are now seeing tiered rewards. So to make it worthwhile a high level doing a basic quest, they can earn say 20k additional crafting xp afterwards by doing something with the npc. Now a lot of people who are already high levelled immediately pop on those rose-coloured glasses and moan that they had to do it the hard way. This is true, and seeing something get nerfed AFTER you've done it the old way is a kick in the teeth. However you can put on your signature or somewhere, "150th to 99 agility in 06 when it really mattered" or something similar to protect your shattered e-peen, since there is no ingame way of verifying this. Anyway, the traditional model is, as endgame is expanded, the journey to end game becomes progressively shorter and easier, to not punish as much those that started the game later. So in a way if you want more high-level content, you're going to have to endorse this. Rambled too much I've forgotten what my starting point was ;/ TLDR: You will always see more "end game" content, however those that are currently already at endgame, will continue to be ahead of the curve and will be continually frustrated at basically "finishing the game to early". From Jagex point of view, thanks for playing. bl.
  8. Smelting gold ores requires little to no effort and is around 70k xp/hr, slow but cheap. 3gp/xp Superheating gold ore is around 100k xp an hr, a lot more clicking and slightly more expensive. 6gp/xp You can combine the 2 for high effort but 120k or so xp an hr, (You can superheat while smelting and if you don't do it too fast, it won't interrupt the smelting). 5gp/xp With Scroll of Efficiency (DG reward) Iron plates: 100k xp 10gp/xp Steel Plates: 150k xp 19 gp/xp Mith Plates: 200k xp 21gp/xp Addy plates (88 onwards) 250k xp 18gp/xp You can obviously cut the cost in half if you use Sacred Clay Hammers, (They last for 65k xp) but you have to take into consideration the time it takes to earn them. Which if you enjoy the Minigame, might be worthwhile considering.
  9. I'd highly recommend choosing to do your paper on that or something similar. Gaming/internet psychology is an interesting field and not overly saturated as of yet. As for the guy, video games didn't cause him to become obese or divorced, his addiction to them did f-d his relationship up and a sedentary lifestyle made him obese.
  10. If you do something like string amulet it requires 1 click per invent and is around 150k xp an hour at around 4? gp/xp. This is the lowest effort non combat xp and isn't overly expensive either. You also get around 6k crafting xp an hr aswell. Also check. http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=0AhdHFDsdlxujdGN1Q0Q1Nm5PY2duLV9LdkRZZFdHQlE&gid=3 For other methods of XP and cost. However it doesn't take into account #of clicks or effort required & super string is probably the least clicks for most xp, aside from combat.
  11. For the effort used in altering bones, I would just go with dragon bones. 15k bones over a few days isn't much. You do around 1300 an hour and it is very few clicks since you can take from bob without re-offering. Just have your rs window side by side with forums or whatever you like doing, since you'll have 30-1min of time effectively doing nothing while your char altars bnes. That way when you need a break from dungeoneering, you summon a tort/yak do some bones, then go back to it. Breaks the monotony of both skills. If there was lots of repetitive clicking involved I'd be more inclined to go the more expensive, faster route.
  12. Lowest now is 130m, even at 2m a day xp, it will only take a month for to fill the front page up. It will be around 1month - 6 weeks. Not long really.
  13. Video Game addiction is real. Same as alcoholism, however the majority of people can drink & game responsibly, others however can't. Now in kids/teenagers it's up to the parents to take responsibility, however for adults it's up to their peers or themselves to be honest and admit they need some form of help. That's one of the reasons I quit WoW, when I had to arrange my real life or cancel going out in order to raid or w/e, eventually you wake up one day and think, wtf am I doing. As for gaming in general there is nothing wrong with it. Just make sure you live life without regrets & ultimately able to recognise when it starts interfering with your studies/job/relationships. If you want to game 15 hours a day, that's your prerogative. I just guarantee you will look back and regret it, using health is not a valid excuse when you see the feats that some people achieve. But if your gaming in your free time while doing whatever, be it study or work etc, then it's completely different and you are just filling the void in your spare time. You could argue that you can use that spare time for something more productive, but then it wouldn't be spare time and you need some form of escapism or relaxation to function well at your other tasks. Anyway the world of video game addiction is an interesting one, and there is a lot of money to be made out of other peoples addictions. Especially in the HR riddled world we live in.
  14. Cannon + Crapier on slash / whip (or cls if you bought one) If you don't have bandos but have soul split, Proselyte/Void Elite and EEE is fine. using a cannon will greatly up the speed of killing them, but may cancel out profit, idk. if you do not have soul split or a yak, killing these will be tedious - I'd recommend killing other dragons and selling those bones and buying wyvern bones.
  15. Wrong forum broseph, someone will move it to blogs shortly probably
  16. ^ Lol knowing him that'll be like a week :P
  17. If you have the cash to invest in the bars up front, otherwise a lot of going backwards and forwards to the GE. If you do have the cash, take a look at Rune legs & Rune 2handers, they are sub 10 gp/xp WITH scroll of efficiency (makes a big difference on rune up to 4gp/xp per item)
  18. Basically it's a good filler wep for killing dragons before you get super antifires or a rapier. Whip will be better for everything that isn't weak to stab.
  19. Smelting at furnace - 70k - 3gp/xp - Least effort (especially with new make all interface) Superheating - 100k (+95k Magic xp)- 6gp/xp - Moderate effort (Can arrange your spellbook for superheat to be near the bottom and you click the one spot for most of inv) Superheating while Smelting - 130k (+65k Magic xp)- 5gp/xp - Most effort (Superheat ores between bank and furnace, click smelt all, then superheat them while smelting(if you do not click to fast it doesn't interrupt the smelting) At 88 you can make adamant plates which are around, 250k xp an hour but 18gp/xp. If you enjoy stealing creation you can cut that number in half, each sc hammer lasts for 65k xp or so. Those are basically the only viable cost effective smithing methods, if you do not wish to LRC superheat.
  20. At about 5 levels before you burn like, 2% of fish. Basically if you don't care about a little loss, start doing Shark at lvl 90. You won't burn that many with gauntlets. (You'd have to burn over 40% for it to be slower xp than swords/monks). However once you get to 90 or 91, you can use a chef's delight to boost the rest of the way, which costs like 5k gp.
  21. I think on his thread it's november 12th he is getting it. It would be nice if he were to do an article on say, the evolution of Slayer, how the xp rates and methods changed over the years and his opinions on it.
  22. Especially since if you use the CC, you spend 5minutes doing the actual minigame, and the next 10 fishing the same fish which requires zero clicks. It's pretty much how i plan to train fishing from now on lol. 180k xp a week is good enough for no effort.
  23. As nice as full screen is, it's not really practical for anything due to how far away the invent screen etc is from the centre of the screen.
