Ok, so no summoning, that makes the next part a bit easier. Do myths of the white lands quest for a 500xp lamp. Complete beginner lumby tasks for another 500xp lamp Head to the player safety stronghold (Where the cockroach soldiers are) and grab 2 x 500xp lamps there and the 10k gp. Spend all lamps on Dungeoneering. Head to edgeville dungeon and unlock the chaos druid resource dungeon. Then head to the dwarven mine and unlock that one. This should get you hopefully get you 20dg. Then unlock the Hill giant resource dungeon. You will be 23-24 or so and will need a few random event lamps to get to 25 to unlock the next one (Karamja lesser dungeon). So what this gives you. Chaos Druids w/ Rannar spawn - you can sit in the corner ranging, it may take a while to get a world & these are also non-aggressive after like 26cb. An area to powermine iron and bank it using the deposit box - this can also be busy, but u'll find a world eventually depending on what time of day you play. An uncrowded Hill giant area which is quite good for training & has limpwurt spawns if you want to bank them. Other things you can do in the meantime - buy 1k mind runes, 1k fire runes and an air staff - put your rune on and afk at Thiefs in Edgeville dungeon, using wind rush, then wind strike, then fire strike, to level your magic a bit - much more productive than fishing I guess. You can also do the same method for levelling range initially (But only wear the rune full) Try that out for a start I guess, your main income wll come from Herbs at a low level.

1) 65 - 70 Bonecrusher and Falconry - expect around 60k xp an hr or so. 70+ Start Jadinko hunting I guess, make sure you're always using a bear. It's slow at 70, so you may want to keep going at falconry or penguins/red salamanders. But you will start obtaining seeds from the normal jadinkos. You only need a couple of Ugune seeds (assuming they survive) to make a decent crop of Farming JuJu's so you can at least get started on it. 3) Entirely depends on your task list. However it is unlikely to get more than a 1:1 ratio of summoning xp to slayer xp. However with a specialised list you can average around 60k summoning xp per hr. (However you will need a steel titan for this, so it kind of defeats the purpose) 4) Depending on your final task list & what you want from Slayer (Other than just slayer xp) will influence heavily on whether you will want a Yak. If you plan to do Slayer for Effigies or Profit you will be using a Yak on over 60% of tasks, the rest would be an iron/steel titan. If you do not plan to slay past 99 I would get 96 summoning first as I believe it makes the experience more enjoyable. If you still need magic xp, then bursting/barraging would be good, however you do not get effigies.

Actually, ZMI is pretty decent profit at higher levels (compared to doing other forms of RC like abyss deaths / bloods or graahking nats.). Last time i was at ZMI doing 1 minute laps was ~10k a lap, for an easy 600k an hour. Compare that to the 700k or whatever graahking is nowadays, or the slightly more for abyss deaths / bloods, and at high levels doing anything other than ZMI for RC that doesn't cost you is pointless (assuming you don't want to just level with assists). 10k profit on your essence, or 10k worth of runes (ie not subtracting the cost of ess)? I thought 250-300k profit was max for 99 RC at ZMI.

Having played around with a new account on members recently looking for ways to do things. What are your XP Goals for that character? What are your Ranged & Magic levels if you have 10 strength? Are you planning on levelling many non-combat skills?

What about when using a cannon & the cannon makes up ~60% of total damage.
-
~185 in 1 hour, full world, no specs, not really luring perfectly each time. That's a lot more than I expected.
-
Halfway through test, went with D-def & Ardy cape. Don't own Claws unfortunately, and cba speccing with any other weapon. Really wish I brought summoning pots lol, even with bonecrusher.

Having used the deflector & b-gloves over rune defender and v-gloves, just wondering if the addition of the dragon defender changes much in that department. In this particular case it will be used against Black Dragons w/ a cannon, turmoil, overloads. Since the cannon will be doing a lot of the work & the fact I think it's widely accepted your primary attack bonus effects your cannon's accuracy, would the +13 to stab outweigh the +6 strength. I know that 1 point of strength outweighs this if you hit over 50% of the time. Or simply will the difference, due to using a cannon be insignificant and I should just use whatever. (Trying to get relatively accurate offtask kill rates for my effigy guide)

:shades: Any further questions I can probably answer them, since I haven't finished off that guide yet due to being quite busy.

To be competitive I have a feeling you'll be paying a lot more than 8-10gp/xp using runners. That's about 450xp for 26 ess(based on 17.5xp avg per ess crafted(lvl 80)), which means you are paying them 4500 gp a trade (2x 13 ess trades). If you paid them I think the previous mentioned figures were 20k or so for a trade, the 26 ess. Then you minus the profit made from the runes which I think is ~4000 on average. So 35gp/xp @ level 80 paying 20,000 for 26 ess. However the runner is only earning 16000 gp if they provide the essence. If you provide the essence then any runes crafted would cancel out the essence cost. Making it 43gp/xp.

Yes it's bad, if you only got Runecrafting Experience. I know this thread is about runners, however this is a counter argument to perhaps why people wouldn't use runners or why runners aren't really applicable anymore. To make someone run for you, you have to make it worth their while, which you means you need to pay them money. So like I said, unless you solely want RC XP only - or have maxed all other effigy opening skills, I can't see why, if you were willing to pay for runners, not just go for effigies instead. (Plus removes a lot of clicking tedium, which isn't factored in the above as each individual has their own threshold on how much they want to click) EDIT: Also perhaps on the topic of this, extremely likely update. Most people dislike Runecrafting not due to it's slow xp (Who cares how fast the XP comes in, it's the process in which it's obtained. Slayer is a good example of this.) Runecrafting requires 100% attentiveness and probably 2-3 more times clicking than any other skill (With Hunter and Agility close behind) It used to be bearable at least for me because it had monetary value. I knew that RC'ng through the abyss was decent money, and that was why I was doing it, not for the XP. The XP was a by-product that would slowly go up over time. The other thing that added some form of entertainment value to this - were the abyss Pk'ers. As you were RC'ng you would go through the motions on the lookout for them, until finally, you are TB'd and entangled. You may or may not get away, but here came the distraction that broke the monotonous process up. Off to the bank, on goes the PK gear and off for a fight (If they hadn't logged.) Now being someone with my original stats. (70 att/str 99def & 99/mage/range) I used to be quite successful at PK'ng at the combat level I was at. So for me this provided a break to RC and boosted the entertainment value of the skill & made the 100% attentiveness and clicking worth the hassle. Does anyone have similar experiences with the Abyss & whether or not it made the process of RC'ng through it endurable back then. I can't bring myself to ZMI much now since it's purely just for XP (No/very small amounts of GP is earnt) and it's the same repetitive clicking process over and over again.

You can already reliably purchase RC XP via effigies. Even if you used effigies from say 75 RC. (Which is quite low to burn effigies on) For a cost of 500m you can have 99 Runecrafting in ~330 Hours. Average of ~36,000 RC xp an hour. (Probably less once you get 91+ to open the RC options on effigies) So this makes Cannoning Cave Crawlers 42gp/xp @ 1.5m/1 effigy per hour cost. However if you can open them you also get the xp from opening them & ranged & combat xp (if you value it past 99(which you will most likely have), also 40k xp worth of charms should you need them. Obviously the later you start using your lamps on RC it drastically reduces how many you need thus shifting the average xp/hr. So I think if you are prepared to pay for runners for increased RC Xp, you may as well spend money on cannoning cave crawlers for less RC XP but a lot more total xp. For it to be worth paying ess for runners you'd have to pay quite a bit as there are numerous ways to earn 500k+ being fairly nooby now with or without any skill requirements (in members). However paying someone a dedicated runner for an hour who runs with you, could be an option for ~ 50% more xp, however they'd have to be quite quick as to not slow you down at all. Honestly unless you are extremely pushed for time or already maxed in every other skill, effigies have pretty much killed off RC, especially if you don't enjoy it.

Combat Bracelet is +1 to attack but -1 to def compared to Mith Gloves Regen Bracelet is inbetween addy and rune gloves. Obviously since it's a pure i'm going to presume it's for pk'ng so you probably won't want the risk. But they are quick and easy to attain in the meantime while you do the RFD quests (if you don't already own them for training.)

Hmm F2P. You could smelt Steel/Iron(Ring of forging) @ 150k+ Gp an hour but only 15k xp or so. Iron Platebodies are 10gp/xp so 68 would cost you close to 6m gp, but are 100k xp per hour. Depending on your magic level you could perhaps superheat Mithril (Once you get the required level) this costs 1gp/xp and is 30k experience or so an hour, thus costing you around 600k. Outside of that I'm not familiar with any/many f2p methods.

That's because this is the Help & Advice forum, not the Opinion forum. There is a reason why every man and his dog use a 2 Hander with a Berserker Ring.

http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=tYLj4VK6eDYMp9ZOJ-zbwyA&output=html If you don't care about efficiency - don't look at the last 5 columns (yellow onwards) I would personally recommend smelting gold bars(with gloves) to 88, but if you don't multi-task doing this it will be extremely boring & a waste of time i'd imagine. You could also superheat them since you are only 95 Magic. You could do adamant arrowtips for slightly higher xp/hr at a higher cost but will need a larger cash pile to frontload more adamant bars at a time than you would gold ore. If you don't mind SC get hammers & save them for when you are 88 for the platebodies.

How on earth am I supposed to make 930m gp to get my skills to 99?
Vex replied to Drichards2013's topic in Help and Advice
You would make prayer potions or whatever gp/xp potion is decent, until super antifires - then you would make say 500? of those to last you a while, then buy the materials for 500 extreme attack and strengths. You could stew say a +3 from 86 to 89. And have 500 extreme attacks and strengths ready to make. A boost can last indefinitely. Drink a super attack or something and wait for your stats to drop 1, then eat your stew. If you get the +3 herb boost required. Log out. Everytime you login you will have 60 seconds to make potions, set a timer (swiftkit works well enough) and make potions until 50 seconds have elapsed from logging in, then log out again. When you log in, the stat depreciation counter will be at 0 again and you will have another minute to make potions. This is obviously tedious but it means you can make extremes a few levels earlier, thus giving you a handy stockpile for combat & earning you some xp. (I say a +3 boost as it's less tedious to earn than a +4 or +5, but if you enjoy hunting rats...) As for Prayer I'd recommend doing it all in one go, ie Turmoil or don't bother. Don't forget effigies either. Once you have say prayer to 92+ these are worth the equivalent to 800k-1m gp in xp. Or obviously an hour of time on say agility or something slow later on. -
You want high LP, low defence. I'd recommend Living Rock Creatures in Void. Living rock creatures give 4.5/4.6 xp per 10lp of damage dealt. Which is a 10-12% increase in xp over most other creatures (bar bosses and dragons). Their drops aren't amazing but you won't lose any money, and you will get a few charms. Don't mine their corpses as it's far too slow - and defeats the purpose of power training. If you don't have Void & you plan to get to 99 range without slayer & chinning, then you should really take the few hours to get it. (It's extremely low effort)

I used to go to the different language servers and it would generally be empty. That's because bots don't run on different language servers ;p

Happy to see my hypothesis seems to be holding true. (Effigy drop @ crawlers etc)

Ok so skill by skill, based on the stats in your sig. Crafting - Gold Bracelets - 200k/hr Construction - Nothing profitable Magic - Making Ardougne/House teleport tabs ~ 500k an hour and 25k magic xp or so. Fletching - Iron/Bronze Darts - not much Xp but profits slightly Smithing - Making iron/bronze dart tips - again not much xp Fishing - nothing really, it's so awfully slow Hunter - Swamp Lizards - but that's a bit noob for you. Woodcut - Mahogany Logs @ the tai bwo wannai enclosure - might be ok Runecrafting - Again poor xp, poor profit at your current levels. Mining - Mining iron ore or 5kg blocks of granite makes low levels of profit That's why even at higher levels some form of combat is always the breadwinner. As standing on a white berry spawn and picking it up is around 700k/hr lol

Just been good-fighted by the Australian government. My Aussie passport has expired and I can't travel on my British one and get a visa since I'm Australian. I'd have to wait until my new passport is processed, good fight. 2011 is off to an AMAZING start ffs

I disagree with your point. You should not take the easy way out on those first few levels. Yes, they're slow, but at the same time they're also necessary, for two reasons. First of all, if you are going for chaotics, using lamps and other xp boosters on Dungeoneering would mean you'd have to train dungeoneering for even longer to get those tokens you miss out on. Secondly, it's simply good practice. For someone who's never dungeoneered before, it is a very confusing skill. The worst time to pick it up is when your whole team is relying on you. Yes but getting to say level 40 - is not even the equivalent xp of one large 5;5 at 80ish (for you're chaotic) It also allows you to do several consecutive floors without having to reset at crap prestige. Usually the above point is the major turn off for people starting with dungeoneering - however if you have ~15 floors to go through, then reset etc, it might be less daunting as the xp won't be so awful. which might encourage people to stick at it. I mean this still gives you ~20 levels to learn how to DG, then you can look for 5:5 teams.

Living Rock Creatures give 4.5/4.6 combat xp per 10lp. They have a huge number of hitpoints (So more opportunity to hit higher on them) and have basically no defence. They are combat 120-140, so with an average of cb 130. This would place their effigy drop rate around 1/700 - 1/750 or so. However I am unsure if the increase XP gain outweighs the Salve Ammy (e)'s bonus at AZ's. Another nice place to train is the black demon resource dungeon. It's multicombat so you can use an iron titan. you receive good charms and will get an effigy every 3hrs or so (on average) also around 45k summoning xp (Crimson > gold > green >blue)
