    Chaotic Gear

I think he was referring to the lighthouse ones for a quick task. But yeah, take a whip for aberrants, hellhounds, dagannoths as it won't make too much of a difference due to the % dmg the cannon does. At least in regards to the repair cost it'll chew through.
  2. The sun decided to grace England with it's presence today, so thought I better go make the most of it. Hopefully i'll get online a bit more tonight.
  3. 300k Slayer Xp today, in about 8 hours in-game played. Current average slayer xp is 37.5k xp/hr, although I don't mage ice strykes and I did dark beasts in Kura's cause i needed a rest lol. Going to no-life tomorrow probably, since nothing else to do. So 5 effigies, 300k slayer xp today, ahead of the curve so far.
  4. If your goal is to eventually max, then you should save them, as they will save an awful lot of time later on. If not, then there's no point saving them as skills are near redundant atm anyway, apart from quest requirements.
  5. SP mages don't drop any charms, nor effigies & are maximum 1m/hr gp. I will decide between blue dragons and nechs if I am using more points than I am gaining. I would do the Blues in Kura's however this can be busy. Nechs take a little while to get to, however thanks to combat familiar similar profit & decent crimsons, i'd do these before I do blues. However Effigy would be over 3hrs per drop. My goal of this is to track how much profit/loss charms etc is made/gained by Power Slaying for effigies.
  6. Found this old blog lol. Updated to show my current goals. Going for Max then probably Comp cape. 7. Kuradels Tasks - Range Abyssal Demons Blue Dragons Dust Devils Fire Giants Gargoyles Greater Demons Hellhounds Warped Tortoises Terror Dogs TzHaar Nechryaels Dark Beasts Spiritual Mages Range + Cannon Aberrant Spectres Black Demons Black Dragons Bloodvelds Ice Strykewyrms Dagannoths Jungle Strykewyrms Desert Strykewyrms Living Rock Creatures Suqahs Kalphites Block Iron Dragons Skeletal Wyverns Steel Dragons Waterfiends Mithril Dragons Note there are several tasks you can cannon in the just range list - however the cannon + range list is more aimed at tasks that need a cannon to be effective for you. Also this assumes you have good range gear & use protect prayers/tanking mobs where needed on tasks & not based on safespots.
  8. I think an unstrung gold amulet sells well, due to people casting string amulet to gain magic xp. Gold Ore -> Gold bar is -2.65 gp/xp Gold Bar -> Unstrung Gold amulet is +1.30 gp/xp Net gp/xp: - 1.30gp/xp Or at max rates - you will lose 120k gp per hour. Source Crafting Smithing Take a look through those for alternatives (braclets for slightly less xp but greater profit for example)
  9. When looking at buyable skills, i feel it's important to look at 3 things. Time Cost Activity Time is how much Xp is earnt in an hour doing said method. Cost is how much GP is spent to obtain 1 experience by using said method. Activity is how many Clicks is required by said method. There is a 4th option, being efficiency - which assumes the old saying, time is money. Which is essentially Time VS Cost VS Income. So to take smelting gold as an example. Time: Xp/hr is 70k or so - this is quite low for smithing Cost: Around 3gp/xp - this is very cheap as a method of training smithing Activity: Very low - you run to the furnace - click the furnace and smelt all - requires a few clicks once a minute. Based on this information, you should use a spreadsheet or table to compare the various methods, most sheets do not take into account activity - that will just come from personal experience. Look for grimy's spreadsheets in the Archive of Wisdom on this forum - If you aren't worried about efficieny just ignore the last few columns on each sheet and just look at the gp/xp and xp/hr figures.
  10. Unfortunately Hunter is an RSI skill, that requires constant attention and clicking. Salamanders you have to drop or alc them and I find this worse than just deploying box traps over and over. Falconry with bonecrusher, still requires a lot of clicks and you have to aim at small targets meaning you can't be overly lazy with the cursor. You then have to drop 26 furs and go again - also no loot incentive. Jadinkos - I have recently started to do these and am finally thankful I have a method of enjoying hunter. I find I am able to watch something in side by side window mode and slowly click my box traps and redploy. I don't have to drop anything, nor do I have to bank loot. Every 30mins or so it's broken up by fiddling with the habitat things which is nice aswell. Butterfly are probably the least clicks per xp - It's 1 click, then your character will try automatically to catch the buttefly and reattempt should they fail to catch it. However not being high enough level I don't have personal experience with this method. Grenwalls are probably the most click intensive requiring baiting traps - however this is counteracted by the fact you are earning at least 1m/hr.
  11. Yes - it is the equivalent of getting 60k xp/hr and requires very little effort when using the CC. 18-20k xp reward depending on level - make sure to use W77 & CC : fishfling1
  12. I'm about to go from 95-99 Slayer this week, and am planning on recording my tasks etc, i suppose I can record my cancels aswell. Also: Page 20 of RSOF: 98-99-600-61329204 (Zarfots Slayer guide) - Half way down
  13. Cancelling costs 30 points, 100k worth of runes is 35. I'd say cancelling is about double what you said :) True that, should be the other way around, a task only adds 40k profit. (Deaths are 335 ea atm)
  14. Ok here's a sample list, balancing Profit & Slayer XP - bearing in mind you don't have Turmoil or a Yak. However Super Antifires & Extremes are assumed also liberal use of cannon. Cancelling a task costs about 80k gp (In worth of points) However remember the task you complete instead will add 40k back on. The goal is to roughly break even on tasks, and cancel a lot of the crap ones, so you can focus on a decent list for what you want to do. Block Fire Giants Warped Tortoises Jungle Strykewyrms Greater Demons Reasons for Block: Firegiants - mediocre profit (or a loss if you cannon), gold charms, poor effigies, mediocre slayer xp Warped Tortoise - Mediocre Profit, Only 2 spawns per world, poor charms, poor effigies Jungle Strykes - Mediocre Profit, awful charms, poor xp, poor effigies Greater Demons - Decent Crims - However, poor profit, low slayer xp, poor effigies, hard to find a world to kill fast (You may spend 5minutes hopping in Kuras) Cancel Hellhounds (Great Slayer Xp, but zero profit & zero charms, if you feel you can afford it - I would recommend shifting this to the DO list) Dust Devils (Good Charms - Not so good without an Iron Titan +, all other fields are Low xp/profit) Desert Strykewyrms (Semi-Decent profit, however poor in other fields) Suqahs (Quick Points if you need them) Living Rock Creatures (50k+ Slayer Xp when maxed, poor in other fields) Kalphites (If you ever want to do KQ lol) Terror Dogs (Quick Points if you NEED them) TzHaar (Fight Cave - Fast XP @ Max) All of the above should be cancelled since you are going for Profit + Slayer Xp, however should you decide on changing your priorities for slayer in future, several of these tasks offer good xp in their fields, Do Aberrant Spectres - Cannon ( +/= ) Abyssal Demons - Piety ( + ) Black Demons - Cannon ( - ) Black Dragons - Cannon ( + ) Blue Dragons - ZSpear/Korasi's + Ddef ( + ) Bloodvelds - Cannon ( - ) Dagannoths - Cannon ( - ) Dark Beasts - Piety ( +/=) Gargoyles - Piety ( + ) Ice Strykewyrms - Cannon/Melee/Mage ( + ) Iron Dragons - Piety + ZSpear/Korasi's + Ddef ( + ) Mithril Dragons - Piety + Zspear/Korasi's + Ddef ( + ) Nechryaels - Piety ( + ) Skeletal Wyverns - Cannon + Whip ( + ) Spiritual Mages - Piety ( + ) Steel Dragons - Piety + ZSpear ( + ) Waterfiends - Piety ( + ) Profit/loss indicated in brackets, this assumes you bank, where possible, Herbs, Dragon Bones & Hides for the respective tasks. Blocked tasks are tasks you should never bother doing for either of the 4 reasons to do slayer. I left the 5th block open, however I recommend Desert Strykes or Kalphites - I left Kalphite off the list for if in case you ever want to do KQ and get a task lol. Try that for a list - Note: Aside from Spiritual Mages all should offer decent charms. This is to balance your slayer & Summoning xp near a 1:1 ratio, several tasks in the list are relatively low xp & profit - but charms are still important if you are not 96.
  15. What do you want from slayer? Effigies Charms Profit Max Slayer Xp I have sample lists in my guide in my sig.
  16. Uhm "professional player" is such a stupid term.. It is a self-proclaimed professionalism. Anyone who gives himself that name is just full of himself. Professional gaming means you game for a living- he earned money from competing in tournaments. It's not a pretentious label, it's what his job was called. And it's only recognized as a "job" within the self-made circuit. I see it just as gambling: it's not a job, just some people are lucky to get more money than they spent! That's the same mentality as sportsmen competing in competitions. I'm not sure how individual sports work - as I don't think they are employed by say an athletics board however they must be part of some form of system to be able to be eligible to compete in the competition for a shot at the cash prize. If they are successful most of their money comes from sponsorship. (This doesn't apply to team sports, as you generally have a contract with the team, and when the team wins the money, the club(business) receives the cash)
  17. Yes the Altar is a 75 construction requirement, however if you plan to get 75 (which if you can afford it, you should) then go ahead ;) Not like it takes long About which teleport to use and why Kinship is free, but it's not as fast as banking at castle wars. The money saved from using it won't add up to the extra time it takes, and since you have SO many trips to do, @ 5 seconds extra a trip. So 42 bones a trip using a war tort (4 invent spaces for 2 marra, tinder teletab) 48000/42 = 1142 trips 1142/8 = 142 dueling rings = 250k Time saved per teleport is 5 seconds or so. (A couple for the animation & a few more from distance to bank) 1142* 5 / 60 = 95 Minutes Fairly confident you'd pay 250k to save 95 minutes of time ;p
  18. I thought a "Scrub" was a derogatory term used by Australians lol.
  19. Worth using a war tort. Don't bother inviting people to your house, (unless you want company lol) Use dueling rings and teleport to castlewars > bank > teletab to your house You will find if you are doing 50k bones, relying on other people to keep them lit will probably slow you down unless they are extremely punctual. The cost of marrentil and teletabs are insignificant to the 200m you will be spending on prayer. Download some movies or tv shows, thanks to offer X and take-bob, it's extremely afk'able once you offer the initial bone. Rinse and repeat for 40 odd hours to 99. PS: You only need 69 Construction for an altar. Crystal Saw + +3 tea.
  20. 10% I believe, or 90% survival rate (With super compost)
  21. The idea of the prestige system is to encourage you to do every floor, in any order - but allow you to get similar xp rates to what you would get, if there was no prestige system and you could just run your highest floor over and over again. So rule of thumb is, do every floor you can before you reset. As you are levelling you will unlock more floors & therefore a higher prestige xp to compensate for that fact. EDIT: misread the q - oh well someone else may find the above helpful.
  22. Have you looked through Grimy's farming sheet? Lists all costs and info you'd need to know with all various methods. (However doesn't take into account the cost of protecting a tree and assumes you don't) Aside from that, picking what trees to plant ultimately depends on, how fast do you want to get to 99 farming? Do you like/dislike the process of a routine run per day (fruit tree/tree)? Would you value XP past 99? Farming is just a side skill that you do while training others, you can plant everything at 85 & open max effigies at 94(garden pie) is there any reason to rush to 99? Those are some additional questions you'd have to answer in order to see what method & ultimately price is best for you.
  23. Runetrack goes in 30 hr days, due to the 6 hr autologout feature, so this would give you another 6 hrs to play with. And you don't need the extra hr to use the bathroom and eat. You can eat at the PC and you can "cut the loaf" ;)
