  1. I'd say that's a rather nonsense sum and over complicates matters because you are turning gp:xp into an expression of how much gp you need to earn per xp to break even. But gp:xp is meant to express how many gp it costs per xp. gp:xp = cost of 1/xp for 1 (+ any resale value where applicable) xp:hr self explainatory gp:hr = gp:xp*xp:hr Then you simply compare gp:hr to your income:hr The more economically efficient the method the closer gp:hr is to 1/2 or less of income:hr is this a joke? gp:hr is just how much you spend in an hour. when comparing across multiple different data sets - you're failing to include for the exp difference among the two items being compared. I.e. If you're using Ourg bones compared to Frost Dragon bones Ourg bones cost more then Frost Dragon bones and give less exp. However, by your method - altaring Ourg bone is more efficient then Frost Dragon bones. I smell something fishy... talk about nonsense math.
  2. What? DO NOT DO DUST DEVILS. They suck and their drop rates are pure cabbage. Yeah, yeah - dchains are nice but seriously they're only a couple of mil. IF you have some undying need to kill dust devils - do not do it in the polli dungeon. The spawn rate sucks and they're not close to each other. You might as well just do it in the chaos tunnels (I don't think they're aggressive)
  3. I'm wondering where the best place to set up your traps was? I'm using the sw corner of the area south of the farm patches. I'm right next to the safety deposit box. However, this feels a little slow Is there any better place to do ti?
  4. We know that - she's saying that to compensate for her time (in helping you burst lobsters for charms), part of the "cost" would be due to the fact that she can't get effigies at rock lobsters.
  5. You don't really need the healing provided by a bunyip or a unicorn. A Spirit Dag probably won't be as helpful as a Fire Titan at Dags as far as I know. Iirc, rock lobsters have pretty good range + melee defense but bad magic defense (which is in part why bursting works so well). Fire titans also use magic which may make it more helpful. Whats your summoning at now?
  6. Snapdragon unf are very, very unstable. I've farmed up over 1k snaps and I was just wondering what the price of the unf was. Twice today, I checked the price and the first time I bought it for like 5500 which I thought was extremely cheap (measures a loss on the herb -> unf pot) The second time I checked, I bought one at 4998 (I did this like an hour or two ago). I don't know if these are the true prices that they're floating around at, but if that's the case - making unfinished snap dragons is a horrible idea. On a happier note, I've tested selling one clean and one grimy snapdragon. Surprisingly, they both sold for over mid (whereas a couple of days ago - they wouldn't even sell for 5% under mid)
  7. It seems that your flipping is about putting a buy and sell offer at the same time. Hell, you can do that in the stock market as well, you dont have to sell exactly at the market price unless your bank or agent is inefficent. You dont have to wait for 180days, its about following the trend. Besides, long term investment doesnt mean you buy and forget then come back after a month and look what happens. ...The stock market does not function anything at all like a GE. There is no min/max buy offer. You decide to buy or sell and in the case of most brokerage firms/etrade, you end up paying the real time price of the executed transaction. You can set up whatever price difference you like but the price paid for the stock or the price the stock sold for is the price of the stock - is exactly the cost of the stock at the time the transaction is received. Otherwise, you could just end up having huge moguls or corporations or even groups of people who would essentially just flip without any regards to buying/selling limits. Which is ridiculous because then everybody would be making huge amounts of money, and somebody has to incur the costs.

  9. Lol? How valuable do you think you are to DGS? It will be a wonderful place to learn/dg and it has some of the best DG'ers in the game with or without you. It seems somehow you reached this mentality that DGS is going to collapse w/o you and the "greatness" you shall bring. DGS was made to help people not so people can help it. Not at all, it is not my intention for you to think that. My vallue to DGS??? I don't think I can do that much for DGS, I can do something though... I am not useless. I am not the greatest dunger of all, but there are many who can learn a lot from me, but not like anybody else can't... I am in no way too good for DGS. I just thought I could help and found that I having to get 70 rc a bit ridiculous because it is a skill i hate most... the fact i hate rc doesnt make me want to dung less or help less people. If I can't help at all without 70 rc then so be it. But imo, write all the skill reqs down in the reqs because it confuses me. I just wrote down dont worry there are others that wanna learn too because there are. And I meant it in a way like... let it go, I don't need to have this big discussion about something simple... why expand my rant??? Why not keep it at that one thing I actually ranted about... 70 RC... Now please, don't reply on all the other things, I might not mean it all like that. Your failure to communicate should not be blamed on our failure to interpret your meaning. Regardless back on topic, if you check the first page of the thread: [spoiler=-How to join DGS:] You must have 45 defense (for a shadow silk hood) and 64 magic (for GGS teleport). It's recommended that you can do at least f30, as large floors below that are very rare. You must have read the entire first post, also known as the "guidelines." Read Bassy's Dungeoneering Tips and Tricks guide. Do it. Read Tip.it's Advanced Dungeoneering guide. Do it. Read Tui's Map Reading and Team Organization guide. DO IT. Have the required levels? Read the guidelines? Good, now join the clan chat 'DGS' as a guest. Upon entering the clan chat, announce that you're from Tip.it and that you've read the guidelines so as to prevent any accidental kicks. Do not ask for floors. Join advertised floors or host your own. You will be expected to host your own eventually. Once you've been in the clan chat for awhile and you've shown improvement, you may request a recruit rank (details in the ranks section of the guidelines). There's not said about having 70 RC. It's mentioned later on as being a lot more useful then binding laws/cosmics (except if you're a keyer but the idea is that making surge runes will take a lot longer then just laws/cosmics)
  10. This is pretty sound advice. You might want to bring one or two artic bears/summoning potions and a ring of dueling or a glory for quick access to a bank. Red Salamanders are pretty nice because you can just tele to Ourania and you're pretty much there. There's no reason to grab 8 ropes/small nets (unless you're afking and you lose them which really shouldn't happen in hunter) Note that lately - there seem (at least when I was leveling hunter) that there were a lot of bots so finding a world may be difficult.
  11. I just realized the irony in all this: Lol? How valuable do you think you are to DGS? It will be a wonderful place to learn/dg and it has some of the best DG'ers in the game with or without you. It seems somehow you reached this mentality that DGS is going to collapse w/o you and the "greatness" you shall bring. DGS was made to help people not so people can help it.
  12. 70 RC wasn't a definate requirement - just that CSB is a lot more useful then laws (which you can end up crafting anyways) I'm saying 70 RC is trivial, as are most of the requirements in DGS. It's not particularly hard nor does it cost a lot of money. It's a manageable task and one that would better not only your DG experience as well as others. This clan is in the help/advice section because it helps and advises people in the matter of DGS. It's not a charity case where it will help out anybody. It's catered to a select few individuals who want to DG for fun and to become better at it. If you don't really care about losing time/xp doing so - why not get CSB so all your floors are faster? Seems pretty simple. You keep talking about a willingness to learn and to sacrifice your time/exp/tokens but it just seems like you'll only do what you would've done anyways. If it's something thats out of the way or a little difficult - you rather skip it and do something else.
  13. Bring a small net and a rope for each trap. Sometimes you have to hop a bit until you find the right world. You wear the larupia clothing for the camouflage.
  14. So say you have the setup for Diseased Jadinkos all set up. Even if you remove one thing, the setup will remain for the next 20 minutes (iirc) This allows you to build the environment needed for Cannibal Jadinkos. However, note that Diseased Jadinkos need a noose to capture and not the maramarsaw plant (sp?). Catching with a noose is much like tracking a kebbit, it's a non stop thing and having the Cannibal environment ready is not going to be helpful. Anyhow, note that different Jadinkos will respawn in different places. North of the farm patch/South of the farm patch/etc, so even though you can build the environment for one of them remove it and still have them attracted to the area, the second type of Jadinko you attract may not be attracted to the same place which would make it pretty useless.
  15. We're all talking about prayer potions.
  16. L, why do people make it sound like it's the greatest thing in the world that they join DGS? Like they're doing the whole world a favor that they're learning how to DG. Anyhow two things - the only requirements are 45 Def and 64 Magic which are necessary for SSH/GT. And level 70 of anything isn't too much to ask for 737k exp in a skill. It's the equivalent of training a skill for 5.7% of the way to 99 which is more then fair. If you feel that DGS is cocky for asking people to have trivial requirements, we might as well all get on skillers and DG. Why not right? My atk/str/def should stay at 1 because I rather not train any combat skill and DG even though combat is an integral part of DG. For anybody to even want me to train my stats so that we can all DG faster is ridiculous. -- Anyhow, I'm not anybody in DGS - I think it's a bit ridiculous that you have such a mentality towards the clan. It's like being angry at your teacher that they expect you to bring a pencil to school to learn. I mean you're already gracing them with your time already right? what else could they possible ask for.
  17. You should be doing either red salamanders/common jadinkos with a artic bear and hunter pots if possible. swamp lizards aren't good exp and banking them is going to become horribly annoying. The time you saved (exp wise) from hunter this way can then be spent on money making (you have pretty good bossing stats so look into bossing or even TDS) which then can be spent on summoning. I know it's very circular D:
  18. Granted there are lots of irrevelant information but it depends a lot on both your gear + levels. Korasis speed up tasks a lot and having prayer bonus can make a huge difference. Somebody with a fire cape + bandos and similar stats to mine probably won't last on a task of 100 or so Steel Dragons in which case htey should opt for more prayer bonus rather then str bonus to avoid having to repot.
  19. Steel Dragons is one of the few monsters in slayer where they have an appreciable amount of defense. For me, I'll wear full bandos + dboots + barrow gloves + ferocious rings + rapier + ddef I'll take Korasi, holy wrench and two other items, two/three extremes + super antis (I divide the number of steel dragons by 40 to arrive at an liberal estimate and then round up. It's always better to bring more pots then have to go restock) I'll use prayer potions for the rest save 4 spaces - for charms + etc drops at first) Anyhow for larger tasks, I'll use about 18 prayer potions for three super antis which comes out to 6 prayer potions per super anti fire potions. I'll be praying piety + protect melee non stop. However, it really does depend on your stats, if your stats are lower the mine then bring more and forgo the first few drops rather then having to go back and bank. If you don't have an korasi - get it asap, it triumps dragon claws 95% of the time at the dungeon. If you have higher prayer, feel free to bring a few less and if you have less prayer, feel free to bring more. You should have an rough estimate of how much you should bring. If your melees are extremely high - I would recommend cannoning them at Ghorock (sp?) fortress. Note that the lunar magic teleport is extremely close save for the fact that it lands you smack dab in the wilderness.
  20. So, if Thunderous yells come closer, and you run back but the familiar doesn't - it's all goodie right? And if your familiar starts off the fight just wandreing around, Thunderous won't start maging everybody in sight? I'm assuming if you own the rager - and you're not in the green spot, he'll start maging you? Sorry, for all the questions but it didn't really mention what happens other then using the rager to attack Thundy. Just a thought, it might even be overkill but if one or two people have ragers - would it make more sense for the rest of the group to have slingers. I've read in this thread (or maybe a different DGS thread) that blood ragers and death slingers have equal dps, and since you can only lower defense so much - would it be better to grab some death slingers and try to proc some of that poison damage? -I understand that familiars may not always be made before hand but if you just happened to come across all the secondaries needed. Thanks a lot for the contributions!
  21. For the weekly trivia, what happens if the blood rager is not in that specified green zone? Will the blood rager ever move around to cause you to get hit if you're running to hide behind pillars, etc?
  22. More resources = More exp? Unless the extra resource you would've gotten gives 0 exp. But that makes no sense (not saying Jagex doesn't do things that make no sense butttttttttttt......) No, you're wrong. The gatherer ring just fills your inventory up faster; you get no additional experience for fish gained from using it. Use berserker to helps you clear floors faster. Sorry, I didn't know that. On another note, is there anything else worth doing in DG? I.e. cooking, mining, farming, etc. Does anybody have the rates for farming, because this might help people get to 99 farming faster.
  23. Viable for those who don't want slayer xp (: I'll do it to 95 ranged atleast. Unless you're extremely rich, it's probably smarter just to take the loss of the exp on the cannon. The cannon would be better put towards cave crawlers for the effigies. Not to say that this isn't a pretty innovative method. It does seem to cater a select few in the game (I think). Most of the people with steel titans also have 99 range. Either way, great guide!
  24. For the most part, melee is ALWAYS going to be the best method for slayer. This may not be true in a few instances namely: Nechryals (chin them in CT) Ice Strykewryms (with a good set up - and fire surge, I believe magic is better)
  25. I obviously don't have the necessary stats to get assigned the mages. However, in 99.9% of the threads I've seen about what tasks to block/skip - this is pretty much on every single one. The slayer exp is extreme slow and dragon boots are not worth much either. I'm sorry that I don't have much figures (but maybe some other people will). Anyhow, good luck with your slayer task! If you are at all interested, I created a thread on this a while back and here it is: http://forum.tip.it/topic/296282-blocking-tasks/page__gopid__4908693#entry4908693 In the middle of the post, Dex was kind enough to link to RSOF threads that have explicit numbers/etc for certain task lists which I copy/paste and hide in tags a few posts later. EDIT: I only provided the task lists - but if you look up the actual forums, there are plenty of numbers (including melee exp/slayer exp gained I believe)
