Don't just block the tasks you dislike the most. It depends on the frequency that you get them - if you're going to block/cancel reasonably

Stick with a prom 2h for now.

I wanted to get some charms and I was wondering if anybody could offer more information about rock lobsters. What should I: -be casting -be wearing -expecting exp/charm wise Thanks a lot!

I've seen multiple posts where people say kill things and bank big bones. This is a tremendous waste of time (both in the actual banking process and then having to altar the god damn bones) Tbh, right now - there are very little things that you would need prayer for (assuming you're doing slayer) I would keep doing slayer, and level up combat through this - try to complete some quests as you can to increase your combat levels. The main idea of all of this is to reach a sufficient level at which you can start/have access to the good money makers - most of which include bossing, td's, or dragons Since you won't be getting maxed melee/herb/all the things required for bossing/td - this leaves dragons. They are a bit tedious but will provide you with one of the best incomes of the game which will unlock more things for you. Some things that aren't combat related but will attribute to some profit: -MTK (please, please - RUSH these quests as soon as you can) Manage Thy Kingdom can give >1 mil gold per week EASILY There isn't really much to do other then put coins in your coffer and get your popularity up once in a while -Herb runs - although they have declined in price, they are still GREAT for money making and herb runs only take about 3-4 minutes -Dailies - don't do every single one but at around your level you should be: Buying the unfinished broad bolt/arrows Buying the ingredients for terrorbirds from that guy at O'olong(sp?) There are a few money making things you can do but apart from skilling, prices are crashing for mort myre fungus, unf pots, potato cactus, etc that they're really not worth it anymore. However, if you do manage to get your combat level higher and DG a bit - you can unlock the scroll of cleansing. If you watch the markets carefully - you can make unf pots for up to and sometimes even more then 1 mil an hour. This will be EXTREMELY tricky especially since a majority of the time, herb and unf pots will NOT SELL for their GE median prices

I think ideally, rather then have all these rules and what not on the front page - people should only post what they know for sure. This happens in a ton of the H&A posts (not saying I don't do this myself sometimes). People will answer questions based on hearsay/less reputable sites/opinion and will often mislead the person asking the question. This then turns into a chain effect where bad information is just being passed along while the person who originally answered the question really has no experience on the matter. Since the question was posted on the DGS clan page (as opposed to any other H&A post), the answer should contain data and not opinion. Anyhow, I'll try not to make any more statements regarding what monsters are/aren't weak to unless a member of DGS has actually provided conclusive evidence. -

Is that listed in order of how common they are? Additionally, is there any up to date guide on safespotting/sidestepping and all those things I've tried trapping monsters but it doesn't seem all that useful so far. I understand that it can be invaluable with a good team but I feel like in normal dgs - people just run around and click monsters when they can. Not many people seem to pay attention to monster placement and as a result - things I trap get trampled and then it doesn't even make a difference. -

I believe with a 2h - you go with slash Anyhow, I finally have internet connection again! I was wondering - it seems like the choosing of the 3rd bind is dependent on the monsters on the floors. It seems like on occults (I usually do them as ffs/tfs), that there are tons of spiders/shades/hellhounds that would make a rapier a decent choice for a bind However, since DGS seems to advocate the gauntlet over the rapier - I was wondering, what are common monsters found in warped floors? -
I was mainly talking about maging, fire surge with SoL and Arcane stream imparticular. I didn't really consider the slayer aspect of it, but with magic you can far cast them, pray range, and tank their magic attack pretty efficiently, lasting far longer than you would with melee and getting some fairly hard hitting and very accurate spells in. I guess rapier would probably be slightly faster for 1 inventory if you only have like 7 as a task, though. I use these as a cheap magic training method so i instantly thought of long term killing 1000's. And as for the great damage, i mean the fact that the rapier can hit 650+ in the right gear so much faster that it's average hit will be very high and due to the speed, it should make up for misses. I'm well aware that the maul hits higher, but due to it's slow speed it's actual DPS on 0 defense is much lower. (This basically boils down to whether or not the waterfiends defense level is high enough to bridge this gap of DPS difference, i believe it is a close call under ideal circumstances.) If you were trying to camp mithril dragons - it would be far more effective to bring bandos/str gear You can just pray against the melee or magic attack and heal with EEE. I notice that tons of people tend to recommend fire surge on metal dragons. While I am not disputing that fire surge would be great to use - it's pretty good dps wise with a SOL/Chaotic staff + Arcane stream, I have never seen anybody maging that could keep up with my rapier + ddef and piety (with super anti-fire) or even stay relatively close really I'm not sure on the effectiveness of ranging - I choose not to range myself much but I can see that diamond bolt (e) might be good for higher level dragons although I'm not sure how often the effect would proc As for wfs, people maintain that it's a fairy common task - but I still think it's pretty rare. It might not warrant getting a maul if all you want to do is to train slayer. Rapier honestly is a weapon that can be used for all of slayer - the rapier's slash isn't bad and with piety + correct position of the cannon/wyvern, I can't discern how much of an effect it would have on a task. Either way, rapier is hands down the best single weapon to have on slayer tasks (barring cannons of course :P)

I'm pretty sure that range/magic isn't good for mithril (Not that it's a huge deal cause you only have to kill 7 of them) Rapier blows both these options out the water with it's amazing stab bonus + speed. Pair that with a ddef and it's probably the best setup you can have for mithril barring some of those vesta/corrupt gears. I don't understand what you mean by "when it does hit, it does great damage" It's a uniform distribution so you're just as likely to get a low hit as a high hit. In terms of high hits, maul has a higher max hit and it's definitely better then rapier at waterfiends. In accordance to whether a rapier/whip is better then a ZS - I think that the ZS would be better then a whip but I'm not 100% sure on the rapier. However, what's wrong with a SS? I used to do my wfs task in a SS and I was killing them noticeably faster then a guy with slightly higher levels then me We talked for a while - and it seems that we both had piety on and our gear was pretty much the same (offensive bonus wise) with the exception of my fury to his glory I don't think it made much of a difference (I also potted every 5 minutes while he potted when he reached 110 - but I was at a slightly lower combat then I'm at now)

I calculated before how much time an ovl saves, I can't remember how much it was but it was lower than the time taken to leave and re enter by a few ( <10) seconds meaning you shouldn't leave a row. BUT as grimy said 47 is 2.5% better xp so you are leaving for more xp not just an ovl. I'd say the time saved is minimal and you're better off doing 45-47 to not lose momentum as grimy said How the hell did you calculate how much an ovl saves? I'm a little confused with the 47 is 2.5% better exp. If you keep doing fl 47 - don't keep getting the exp for 47 ticked off. You get a different floor with its base exp accounted for no? -

I thought it might be better if he did a few floors since he said he only keyed for his friends and they ended doing almost an hour floors. I'm not really good at this whole dging business but one things for sure - talking about it in chat won't help. Just go out there and do a few floors. I actually like when people yelled at me - you tend to remember those outbursts more then people prompting you in dgs. Generally, the people who get really really angry are the people who have a great deal of experience and are giving you a great deal of insight. -

It's not a magical place where people are always asking for a floor. Stay, wait until people are offering to do floors that you can do - and then ask if you can join. -
It's actually less since you get some runes for doing some of the distractions back However it's not often that these occur and you can always just resell the runes you don't buy back
-
For slayer - Suqahs are cannonable - east of the livid farm patch There's no real secret to farming other then to grind it out Planting Magics and Palms come out to a little more then a mil during that first multiplier on bonus exp weekend. If you set a memo on your phone/itouch/whatever - you can easily gain close to two mil exp in those few days which would be over 15% of the exp needed alone This won't help much with exp but you can always go farming inbetween dgs while waiting for new teams and using that money to buy magic/palms

Isn't it more charms if you bring a familiar? Since you can't use those and you can't cannon in Kuradel's dungeon If they do drop charm rates - how much more often do they drop? I wouldn't mind sacrificing some melee dps/exp if I can use a familiar to make it up and earn more charms at the same time

edimmus drop blood neck soulgazers drop hex hunter one is amazing for both dps and gaining hp back throughout dungeoneering the other one rapes mages (demons, books, ghosts, etc) Both are pretty rare due to having to find the monsters and not so great drops -Also @Firerage - not everybodys on here when they're dging Some people might just be in the channel advertising for floors I would recommend going on a few practice floors and experiencing how to dg in a team like dgs before actually keying for people ________ In addition to Thai's question's- The overload lasts for 5 minutes You have to leave the DG (run off the balcony and jump off - even though you were orginally underground wut?) Go to the bank and withdraw an overload - use it and drop Reinvite everybody and choose the floor Assuming regrouping takes a minute or so - you realistically have less then 5 minutes (you won't always encounter a gd right at ht - although they're not always far apart) to regain a minute in time lost + more time to account for the overload It's probably not worth it to overload and regroup Unless you can somehow predict where the boss might be and if you reach the boss and do some appreciable damage in less then 5 minutes ^which may well be the case depending on what the critical path data shows :P -
You only want it for the slash/crush option (remember to have it on the aggressive style) You can certainly experiment - but you'll find that rather then taking a long (really not that long time) on single gd monsters - you'd be spending a larger time on bosses. Since bosses (generally speaking) are where you would die (especially since you're just doing solo's) - you'd want these fights to be faster rather then the gds. So it's probably not worth it to trade for 'slightly' faster gds but longer bosses with more KO potential. Remember that the first death is -13% exp and so is the 2nd. When I solo'ed med C6 floors (in order to practice keying/gate placement) - I didn't die too much (maybe once at the most) If the bosses lasted longer then they already did - I'm 100% sure my kill count would've been higher. I don't think I've really died in a gd room in a C6 since they rarely contain more then two or three monsters and even if this is the case, you can pray and just tank a few hits. Imo, if you're running small C6- platebodys are probably? more useful then the ssh However - the ssh is rare and is infinitely more valuable in team dungeoneering so don't hesitate in breaking bonds for this one.

I was interested in what you were saying about the Chaos Tunnel. Do they give above average charm drops compared to other locations?
-
Depends on how many you bring. Bring a Korasi for the spec. Since your herblore isn't very high - you obviously can't but, but generally: for metal dragons (more importantly steel/mithrils) bring a ddef and super anti-fires. I noticed that the difference in accuracy is pretty noticeable.
-
A stab weapon +ddef (i.e brackish blade) and pray piety Korai's for spec

Don't stand in the portals? Shouldn't be too much of a problem really. You'll have loads of fun later on when Dg-ing :D

I would like to add that for slayer - it's not like you're gaining tons and tons of profit. You make a little bit of money (more then enough to cover pots) and then some on the side. Most people advocate training slayer because if you want to level it - there's really no super fast way then just grinding it out. Of course this can change if you're yakking or taking multiple trips for dragons/black demons/etc Again, there's really nothing better then dragons/frost other then bossing You have pretty decent combat levels but I noticed that you don't have turmoil (and you probably don't have chaotics?) ^This would put you down at a disadvantage for bossing (mainly Bandos - cause everybody and their mother loves to crash that) and duo-ing, tro-ing isn't as much profit. You could try out T.Ds/Tribriding Daggs although I don't know how well it would work out for you. However - if you keep doing dailies/herb runs/etc and DG for the time being. You should have a pretty decent cashpile to work with. Keep trying out items to flip - if your profit margins are huge, try to minimize that by either buying at a higher price for faster buys and selling at a lower price for faster sells. Merch-ing really isn't as good as it used to be and the market is pretty unstable at times. If multiple people start trying to flip your item, it could happen that you lose a bunch as they crash

I was assuming the OP was talking about solo dg's. If he can do successful larges with a decent team - i don't think the exp difference from rushing c1-29 and doing larges after would be better then doing whatever he can as larges. It seems that the exp rate would really depend on: -the ability to gather a team -the team's skill Of course if he were doing it with DGS, then he might as well try doing large everything 30+ although he might have a hard time getting into locc's
