What is the Most Cost-Effective Method to Train Herblore?
LitterBug replied to Panzerlord's topic in Help and Advice
You shouldn't do any one thing. I think you should do a combination of super attack/super str/super def You'll need them later on for extremes so why not get it out of the way? -
Honestly, limiting the GE is a great idea. If you don't - just imagine how much merchants can control the market. There are plenty of people who have over a bill in cash. All you have to do is corner a market where the items don't come into the game so easily. Or even with enough cash - you can still corner something ridiculous like pure essences and dramatically hike up the prices for no reason. Some of the limits are low - and I say change that. Most of the limits are fine and just leave it like it is.

Wyverns are good charm droppers? Is this suggestion viable just because he doesn't have access to higher leveled spells?
-
How are you calculating this at all? Faster DPS accounts for the faster killing time which then accounts for the more exp/hour. What does a whip do? Kill slower with less dps but higher exp? The math just doesn't add up. Additionally, I'll be leveling strength three times to your one of each level. Now, I used to think training controlled is worse but if you look at how each level of atk/str adds to your dps - you will realize that atk gives a LOT less of a return per level while leveling str gives you a linear increase of dps. The stance will also take a toll on the dps. Use a whip on accurate and controlled - it's a pretty noticeable difference in the times you hit (while the average may be slightly higher).

My jaw dropped at first haha. I doubt they can do much to revolutionize RC without upsetting whoever has even trained it in the past. It's what? 25-30k exp for the most part unless you're level 80+ with a full bank and you're doing ZMI? It's just such a hassle - I'd hate to think that I wasted so much time on RC just to have people double my exp rate (I mean an increase is fine but not something absurd) even though that's what RC drastically needs. There should be something (in the form of a penance horn or a clay tiara or something) that allows for a multiplier in RC. That would be fair, I guess since most skills have it already and you have to play a minigame to get that multiplier anyways.

With a ranked keyer it never goes past 35 minutes unless it's a horrible floor. Take the average time as 20-30 minutes. Last dung I had at least 2/3rd of the rooms were gds (yes literary) - didn't even feel like a rush anymore - even a so called "pro" keyer takes 50ish minutes every once in a while. I say a more generic average is 30 minutes, taking into account not everyone is equally pro. literary. Made me lol. Anyhow, to OP - you can't keep asking people to approximate. If you truly want a legitimate estimate - you're going to have to do some calculations yourself. How much do you get per large (and on what floors?) What floors do you expect to be doing? Are you going to rush everything then just do the highest few larges? I mean obviously, it's going to change depending on what you do, just saying I want to do two larges a day won't help. Also, if you're only going to do two larges a day - it doesn't matter if you dg with dungeon squires (what?) or dungeon sweepers. It doesn't matter if your floor times are 10 minutes or 50 minutes - in the end it's going to take the same time (in a matter of days/weeks).
-
lol, if you're doing that - why just not set up a game controller and just rubber band over the a button. looks to me like that mouse would break :P
-
Lol? That's a poor argument if I've ever heard one. The OP never asked us not to talk about fishing or herblore so should we talk about that? Honestly, just think about it. The op is definitely not "new" to this game. He has 99 in multiple stats and is pretty high up there for many other levels. It's a safe assumption that he knows what he's doing and he's choosing to do it that way.
-
I don't see what the difference is. It sounds like the OP has read a few guides but they don't answer his specific question. Rather then going to his more "experienced friends" who may or may not have done T.D's, he came to Tip.It a help forum in the help and advice section - no less. If you don't want to help then you don't have to but you don't have to come in and ask him to go elsewhere. In fact, you probably used more time telling him to go learn on his own then if you had actually just tried to help...

I've heard a lot about this but what does a marker plant actually do?
-
I didn't know this was the case. However, if this is the case - then in no case is anything other then solo better. Unless of course you can only solo one boss then take an hour to bank and come back which I highly doubt is the case.

I don't think people even get banned for exploitable glitches. In fact, I don't think people get banned for anything anymore. There has been tons of times that I've seen both a pm and scammer in the fm and nothing even happens. Common seriously? At least a mute if not a ban. I've seen multiple players (presumably younger kids) who have fell for this duping trick. But when have you ever heard of one of these "double your money!" guys ever get banned? There's also tons of exploits in the duel arena that have yet to be fixed. One can only assume that if Jagex is banning people for exploiting these glitches, they would've fixed them afterwards. Either way, they're making a mistake: a.) not banning people who are abusing a major gitch b.) not fixing major glitches Further more, if Jagex makes a major mistake such as bonus exp from crafting runes in DG - then it's not anybody's fault if they abuse it. If the glitch is not super ridiculous - whose to say that Jagex just randomly came up with an absurdly unbalanced way to train? Just like the C2 fishing - was that a glitch or no? (I mean it obviously wasn't their intention but how can we tell what is or isn't their goal if they don't even try to tell us what's going on?)

I just thought that if you use Steel titan youd need healing and Excalibur special could be good. But your onto something there. But hey i think 6 man team can still do better. 6 Man team with Dragon claw special and Steel titans + scrolls Whats difference between this and solo? Solo cant use Steel titan to get more kills. Cant hurt with extra Serg kills, u get more loot overall. So not a bad way to go if your in a 6 man team I like where you're going with this but there's going to be some testing involved. People should go on a few runs with 2/3 people or even solo's. It would be more beneficial to look for the optimal number of people in a group. However, just due to organization and spawn rate - I don't ever think 6 people groups are ever going to be viable. -The kill rate per hour has to be 6 times more then a solo and I'm not sure if that even makes sense. However, this theory should be looked into for multiple bosses and see what's the most efficient way to kill specific bosses.

Considering all the outcry about that glitch, an awful lot of players seem to think it affects them. It may not have taken items away from anyone, but besides the general unfairness, it contributed to the price depreciation of those shields. Were you on during the time? The shields barely dropped at all in price. Overall, the demand was so much greater then the supply that you could attribute it all to just random market theory. Obviously any "glitch" you take will affect others and there's always going to be somebody mad at you. I was trying to say that if the glitch a.) affects the whole economy drastically b.) doesn't directly target somebody then it's more like a lesser evil.
-
Also, here's another way to think about it. One man will get x loot. If you wanted to six man - you would somehow have to make it such that in the long run: your six man team will get 6x loot which on average means a 6 times faster kill time (which isn't very probable) What's wrong with having dclaws + a steel titan though? :P

Yeah, but the other guy actually cut the planks and made his servents run to the construction yard which is beyond slow. If you're only going for enough construction to get a guilded altar - I would do mahogany tables if I were you. Most of your stats are pretty high - you have enough to make overloads and you have piety. Since you already have 150m and that won't get you 95 prayer - just spend it on the 75 construction (however, keep in mind you can drink the tea for a +2 boost and a crystal saw for a +3 boost) Save some for merching - use the rest on bones. Or better yet, use the daily profit from merching on bones.

Whip on controlled to max stats is slower than using a d scim for str first and then also using a d scim for training attack second and defense third. In other words never train with a whip on controlled. elaborate? Just think about it, if you're training a whip on defense - you'll level all three equally as opposed to one at a time. At higher: -str level - you hit for more -atk level - you hit more often so boost your str level - your dps increases boost your atk level - your dps increases boost your def - your exp/hr doesn't change also you get additional boosts based on your stances. never train anything on control ever. (Unless it's the only stances) It's the same reason - you don't train magic in the defensive stance and the reason why you don't train range in the long range stance. Sure, the total amount of exp you get per hit is the same but it's nowhere near optimal training.

WUT!? I would've gotten a huge supply of all the juju potions to make my life easier. I feel like if there was a minor glitch that didn't affect other players - I would probably use it. aka. the corp beast glitch, etc However, if it involved some dueling arena glitch where you could gain an unfair advantage over other players - I definitely wouldn't abuse it.

Whip on controlled to max stats is slower than using a d scim for str first and then also using a d scim for training attack second and defense third. In other words never train with a whip on controlled. This! Plus SS is a great way to train str, much better then a dscim + dd Fire giants aren't that good of a charm dropper (even for gold so definitely don't camp that) Bloodvelds are also bad - there's like 2-3 botters and 2-3 people on tasks in the slayer tower on almost every world. A decent alternative is basilisks - they're low leveled and you'll kill them pretty quickly. However, for your combat level - summoning isn't all that important so I wouldn't suggest you go hunt for gold/green charms. One thing you can do is just do slayer - most slayer tasks offer "decent" charm drops (as opposed to the rest of RS). If you're 100% adamant about hunting for charms - hunt for crimsons either by a.) cannoning black demons at taverley b.) killing waterfiends c.) bursting rock lobs Just save your gold/greens/crimsons until you have enough gold/green to get to a decent level to finally start using crimson. It's annoying but if you're really patient with your charms - you can finish summoning a ton faster
-
They drop to their original levels. It's not like nothing can reduce it - if a stat weakening occurs, the overload just restores it every 15? seconds I think? Not 100% sure

Beating the Bots: Taking Advantage of the Scourge: Mining
LitterBug replied to omgfock0ff's topic in Help and Advice
This but two things first. a.) bots in all actuality probably make the things we want lower in price Just think about all the runes that people buy - how many people would rc otherwise? Dbones for example - if there werent 500 bots at all the dragons - Dbones would most likely be more expensive b.) how does this in any way contribute to the diminishing of bot usage? If you're legit there are tons of ways to make >1mil an hour - something that most bots probably don't do. Why would you waste your time on coal if you could be doing other things? -
So this pattern never changes?
-
Isn't that most things in runescape? Haha, you play around and figure out what you're supposed to do. Then you're stuck doing the same thing over and over. It's not that horrible an update - it's a way to train farming which is hard to do outside of your herb/bush/tree runs. I guess it'll make farming a little bit easier (and now you don't have to buy and break a bajillion seed pods)

I didn't know I could plant a tree in Draynor? Where exactly is it?
