This, red salamanders get you upwards of 70k exp an hour. However, when I went to common jadinkos at level 70-71 - they were really REALLY slow. It was kind of like trying to catch red chins the very first level you unlocked them. I would probably recommend you training summoning to at least 75 before you head to HH. Unless you get the artic bear - at which case I'd still level it to 73 before you head to HH.

...Assuming you can use Kuradel - you probably already have a full slayer helm. Unless you decided not to do smoking kills - ever. Anyhow, on thread - I would probably be on lunar for npc contact, do Mazchna tasks until every multiple of 10th task. For those - use the hardest slayer master you can. I think that as soon as you get your full slayer helm - you should just go back on doing regular tasks from the hardest master you can. Unless you want to unlock the crafting of the broad bolts to make money/fletch and not actually have the intention of slaying.
-
Oh on another note - I'm 100% sure that this can be made more efficient via lunar magicks. I just didn't finish love story yet - I'm burned out from questing so much, so I decided to just have some fun for now before I go on another questing spree. To note - if you're going to be at your computer every 2 hours or so - note that bushes grow every 3 hours or so. So do a bush&herb run. Wait an hour and a half/2 hours - do a herb run. Wait another hour and a half - do a bush&herb run.

Buy whatever you can afford. I feel like the scroll of life doesn't work as much (just in my experience). If you really want to - check the prices of snapdragon seeds and look at the past history. Look at the past dips and try to buy for around that price, that would be the best course of action. However, snapdragon seeds are very volatile - sometimes I'll put in a buy for mid and I won't get any. Sometimes I'll put a buy in and get it for less then 5% of mid - I guess it comes from the luck of the draw. For me personally - I do a couple of runs a day (One in the morning, inbetween classes, etc). When I buy snapdragon seeds - I try to buy so that I have at least 100-150 seeds. However, if the seeds are buying for a decent amount less then mid - I'll stock up a little bit extra. When I hit around ~40ish seeds - I'll hit up the GE to buy some more. At 40 seeds (5 seeds per run), that gives me more then a day to gather the seeds needed. Also, what you can do (since you don't have juju's) is have bush/herb/flower runs. Here's my route - and it takes maybe ~10 minutes? (Probably a lot less actually) I have an air staff, explorer ring 3, water runes, fire runes, law runes and an ectophial along with whiteberries, limpwurt, watermelon and snapdragon seeds. I'll start off at varrock ge - go south to the white berry bush 1.) Take out magic secauteur/Seed Dibber/Spade/Watering Can 2.) Check bush health/harvest - note the berries 3.) Teleport to Camelot - equip the magic secateurs 4.) Run SE to the farming patch - harvest the snapdragon/limwurt - note - replant 5.) Tele to trollheim - farm snapdragon - note - replant 6.) Explorer ring to cabbage patch - run north - harvest the snapdragon/limwurt - note - replant 7.) Run SW to the rimmington bush patch - check health/harvest/replant 8.) Teleport to Ardounge - run NE harvest the snapdragon/limwurt - note - replant 9.) Ectophial - run W - harvest the snapdragon/limwurt - note - replant 10.) Go S to the fairy ring - first hit up the Tower of Life, run W- check health/harvest/replant 11.) Go back to the fairy ring - go to miscellania - check health/harvest/replant Note: At the allotment at Port P (I can't spell), I'll fill my empty bucket with some super compost and farm watermelons to make more. I do this last because you get to potentially save time (in case you overload on spaces) There. Yes, I know these aren't very "efficient" or good farming exp but honestly - it takes like 5 minutes more and you get some white berries/limpwurt roots. I like this, because when you try to make super attack/strength potions - it's extremely cheap. Plus this way - you get a little bit extra farming exp.

I'm not sure RoL is all that bad. You might be out on 300k but the person who uses it - saves 300k. If you really want to - you can always wear the ring of recoil and then when you're out of food/about to die switch on the ring of life. Of course this may not work all the time due to the dclaw specs, or any spec really that can catch you off guard. I think a lot of the time, PvP/Pking does require a lot of experience/in game mechanics. If you can eat and not lose an attack turn, if you can hybrid, etc - that will be more helpful then a few stat points.

Right now, I'm farming snapdragons. (Not using any juju - I'm trying to save them for level 80 farming) I do have a scroll of life however. If you're going to dg - go get the scroll of life/cleansing first. Take the snapdragons you get - clean them and make them into unfinished pots. It's pretty sweet profit (even though if you look at the G.E. - it looks like a loss) For me (and for a lot of other people), it feels like the scroll of cleansing procs more then 10% (I probably estimate it close to 12-13% of the time). Not only is this good for now, but theoretically it cuts down the price of herblore by 10% (more, since it also saves a ton of time)

Also, try to take a few minutes out when you can to hit up all the resource dungeons you can. Like green said, dungeoneering scales terribly at lower levels so the sooner you claim the exp reward from the first time you visit a resource dungeon the better. http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=resource_dungeons.htm That's what 12-13ish K exp that you can get so far? I don't exactly remember my rates at 39-40 but it beats rushing floors exp wise.

In all honesty - hunting is a pretty decent skill. Leveling it in the beginning is pretty tiresome/annoying but once you hit a certain point - everything is a LOT easier. Also having decent hunting/construction/farming leads to juju potions (which for the 5 minutes of herb farming you do) is definitely one of the best money makers out there. The herb prices have been erratic - but I supposed at level 80 farming with juju + scroll of life - the best option is farming torstol at the trollheim patch and then snapdragons everywhere else. My advice - for now don't worry so much about money making. You might as well work on these skills that don't require much for the time being until you start unlocking some better ways to make money (i.e making unfinished potions, crashing bots at the chaos tunnel for green dragons, etc) For an easy 300-500K a day - work on all your dailies. Just do the important ones - some that I like to do: Buy all the water filled vials I can (usually comes in boxes) Buying Newt Eyes Buying Unfinished Broad Bolts/Arrows Buying Battlestaves Buying the raw chicken things to make the spirit terrorbird There are definitely quite a lot more - I just can't think of them :P

It would have to be. Gold doesn't really enter the game via monster drops so the only "real" alternatives are high/low alching and selling to the store. Even so, so much gold that long ago when everything was relatively "cheap" is pretty insane. If party hats were 20 mil like Weekdiertje said - that would mean a player with "max" money would have enough to afford 100 party hats. That's insane

Dangarous' Guide to Using Ectofuntus to Train Prayer

So did you check the exp/hr rates? If g altaring is a lot faster, you would save money by saving valueable time. (random troll fact: till is with two ls) That's what I'm trying to say. It's not going to be better using ecto but it is an alternative training method. Did anybody say til instead of till? If you're speaking about my sig, people use til for until. Not so random troll fact: it's valuable not valueable. -
Where do you live? Last time I went to the bakery a bread was 2.30. - And that's the same price since the start of the year! Lol? Have you ever gone shopping for fruits/vegetables/meat? The prices of these perishable goods are subject to change based daily. It's not uncommon to see something raise 50% in the course of a few days or so. I mean obviously for items that aren't affected so much by weather, crops, etc - the prices aren't going to change much if at all. What did you think that a Big Mac costs 5 dollars today and tomorrow 7?

Isn't this, you know "general Discussion"? - What is a discussion worth when you just "agree to disagree", discussion spawn from the very fact there are disagreements, and you DON'T agree with each other. This is a prerequiste for discussion, and hence innovation. Discussion isn't something "bad", I can go into very heated (and interesting) discussions without any trolling flaming or personal attacks - it just requires maturity. This is true, but when have you seen this ever happening? It's never a discussion when reading about fun vs. efficiency. Inevitably, trolling/name calling take over the thread. ALL the time.
-
This. Not necessarily. A huge problem with determining the price is that when you calculate the sell back prices - most people just assume the G.E. mid prices. However, most of the time - that's not the actual going price. It ends up selling for a LOT less then mid which actually alters the gp/exp ratio. For me, I did supers because some of the ingredients for the super atk/str/def potions are pretty easy to get. If you farm, why not take 5 minutes more per run to get some whiteberries + limpwurts? Also, you can get 1k newt eyes for pretty cheap once a day as well. If you start preparing for herblore in advance, it becomes a lot cheaper to level.

http://forum.tip.it/topic/291636-herblore-question/ too many threads on this topic lol.

Either way, ~30k Prayer exp right now is about 610k worth of dbones (I didn't count the cost of marrentil because they're more or less negligible. At your levels, you can easily make ~2mil an hour (definitely more) Basically you're comparing about 20 minutes of money making vs about an hour of RC (at your level at least) It looks to me like you want to side with RC. Additionally leveling up RC even a bit makes the equation shift more to the RC's favor then prayer. It's not close to an hour of RC. Doing ZMI (my preferred method of RC) over bonus weekend, I ended getting about 36-37k xp/hr base (base as in before the bonus). With the lamp worth 19k now at level 73, that equals just over 30 minutes of time. However in general time saved is a useful consideration. When I did ZMI (I didn't have a full bank and I was about lvl 68 or so?), I was getting about 2tishk exp an hour. Maybe it was me lagging, or maybe I wasn't paying total attention but that was the case I was basing my estimates off of.

You're being ridiculous. He is giving you (correct) advice and you're giving any sort of real reason to counter it. Anyway. Of those items you mentioned, probably claws. Bandos is also a good choice though. DFS is useless except at Wyverns, do not get one. I didn't mean to sound ungrateful for the advice, I'm just saying that herblore really isn't an option for me. If claws are the best of those items, I'll get them, thanks. I presume I'd use them with a whip and some other item in the shield slot? If not a dfs then what would I use as a shield? A dragon defender? It's kind of hard if you think about it to give up so much gear for just potions. However, these potions will give you MORE of an increase in DPS then any one item. If you absolutely don't want to spend all your money on extreme - you can just level up to super potions. Then you can buy full bandos/ferocious ring. A claw is decent but 20+ mil for just a spec weapon isn't a great idea when you have so many other things to work on. Don't get a DFS, and I would sell the SGS for extra money.
-
So, if you prefer doing something else while playing RS, why do you play RS? Surely you could find a better game. Sometimes, you have to grind to a certain level to start actually having fun. Or even do what you want to do. Nobody really "wants" to RC all day but they do it. Videos help with the monotony.

It's not more efficient but it's cheaper gp per exp. Ecto-ing infernal essence = 250 exp Dbones on Guilded Altars = 252 exp You're getting 2 more exp for about 2k more gp which is a lot higher -
Doing Slayer, need advice on supplies (15m)
LitterBug replied to Dangarous's topic in Help and Advice
With his stats, he can go through most if not all of his slayer tasks without banking with just a bunyip. I don't have an EEE so I can't say it's not helpful - but a bunyip more or less satisfies all my healing need and if not, the handful of monkfishes I bring along can cover it. -
Lol, it sounds like the mods are a lot of talk. This really does just sound like a scheme to quiet the masses down. By banning a bunch of these "bots", they seem to think that they have set an example. If you check on page 80-81, Molequul has admitted to botting to 99 mining. This is pretty ridiculous if you're going to cheat, then blatantly admit to it without fear of any consequences.

I don't think the OP is killing them because he's on task but rather he's just camping them. But definitely take a glory > stole. I still think that you should be using piety If you have a few spare mill - drop the ROW and go for a beserker ring. The added str is probably going to help you a lot more then the added "increased chance of a rare drop" Depending on your gear - you might want to just swap out the sharks for more prayer potions and going full prostelyte? If you have some time, try for a fire cape but definitely use an ardy cape 3 for the stab bonus. Between the ardy cape 3 + the glory - you should see a noticeable dps increase.
-
I don't think it's for the farming/herblore exp. He sounds like he's rich enough and he doesn't want to waste time to "profit" when he can better spend it on maxing his stats. Who knows, maybe he has stockpiled tons and tons of rares to sell?

What is the Most Cost-Effective Method to Train Herblore?
LitterBug replied to Panzerlord's topic in Help and Advice
You can just buy those when you get to the point of being able to get extremes. Go with the lowest gp/xp pot that sells and has a reasonable exp/hr I thought that too but a lot of the pots wouldn't sell at mid. I didn't want to bother finding out the actual potion price or just keep undercutting prices so I just stocked up on the supers. You can always get the seconds for some of the potions pretty easily and just make those. For example, you can get 1k newt eyes a day - this costs almost nothing and buying the stock for a couple of days would provide you with MORE then enough newt eyes for your herblore needs. Additionally, you can always sell the extra (they go for a nice 100+ gp). Also, when I farm - I find that it only adds a couple of minutes to do bushes in addition to the herbs (mind that they grow every 3 hours instead of every 75 minutes or so). If you have the love story done - you can cut off a lot of time with the rimmington house tele. Having done the Fairy Tale Quests enables you to use the fairy rings to access the bushes near the tower of life and the one on miscellenia. I realize that 16 white berries every 3 hours isn't a lot but if you plan this in advance. You'll make herblore a lot cheaper and more doable. -
Mining juju's are supposedly pretty good. I guess it could help a bit during LRC?
