Not necessarily. Good turmoil flashing can make primal baxe better than a primal 2H. That's up to you, is your click rate good enough? Ultimately you want to train your clicking rate somehow. The question is which monsters. I've been collecting data. The answer may come out that too few monsters have enough defense for prom 2H to be better. But, the data's not complete. There's definitely monsters where primal 2h > primal baxe without baxe. But short of high tier forgotten warriors and brutes (which should be maged), there might not be enough monsters where prom 2h > primal baxe to be justified. Once again, need a little more data. Namely on maxed level giant bats and ghosts, and maybe a few other monsters. And regardless of what the data comes out to, you should always be exercising your APM, whether or not it's done via 2H -> CSB switching or not. Anyways, so far it's clear that a primal baxe is better DPS on a tier 11 ranger from a mercenary leader room than a prom 2H. Prom 2h is slightly better than a tier 11 mage from a mercenary leader room. (about 1.02 to 1.03x better) These 2 forgottens should be some of the highest defense units in the game short of something that you should be maging. (IE high level demons, brutes, forgotten warriors) So this is promising news for the primal battle axe. however, if the mercenary leader room summons are anything like monolith shades and ghost room ghosts, they have reduced defense. If they do have reduced defense, the prom 2h might be better on normal tier 11 rangers/mages. Furthermore bats and ghosts have fairly high melee defense. I want some data on them before i draw a final conclusion on baxe vs prom 2h. I'm curious as to how you draw these inferences? Are you taking qualitative data - if so, are you recording the hits per specific monster (and level)? It sounds like you're taking a lot of data (to be drawing these specific numbers like 1.02 to 1.03x better) Do you account for attack styles as well? Additionally - is there a way to switch prayer quicker? I tend to notice that if I'm clicking the actual prayer on the prayer book screen - it takes a little longer to activate then the quick pray icon. Also, do you try to pray mage/range/melee a lot? Or just against a really high level/multiple high level monsters? I haven't been trying to survive much lately - still trying to grasp how to DG but this is definitely something I am going to look into improving.

I understand that binding a primal 2h is better then a primal battleaxe. However, if it happens that you have a promethium 2h and you find a primal battleaxe, should you bind it? For the sheer dps of it (not including ease of switching to magic, etc)

That's a nice method. Looks just like teleporting to varrock centre but less tabs used and more money spent on the butler. I'd say its more loss than varrock but more relaxing. It would be faster than varrock if you could get logs without stopping fm'ing. Why would you un-note as opposed to fetching from bank? Is it faster to un-note items?

Err, making the compost doesn't take that much time (and it gives a minor amount of exp as well). If you really want exp - you should probably go look at trees. I never said it takes a long time, but fertile soil has the benefiit of saved inventory spaces as well as the ability to supercompost a patch that you've already placed a seed in. That combined with the lunar teles being tailor made for farming runs makes it a no brainer to consider. I totally agree - if you're speed farming. (Or just not farming allotments) You carry two extra slots of items (nature + astrals) All I'm saying is, if you're already farming the watermelons - take an extra minute or so to make them into supercomposts. I'm not saying go out of your way to make supercomposts but if you're already growing something in the allotment patches - why not? -

Should I bind primal warhammer over prom rapier?
LitterBug replied to Swiller2's topic in Help and Advice
I'll try this with my friend, never actually went full on alch everything mode before lol. But thanks for the tip! Lol, that's what I said except I said a large -_- It "might" be safe if you duo a large just in case you don't have enough money to buy the ores. -

I know, i need to get one. I can smith but my mining lvl sucks, so I rarely come across prom. Have you tried "dung smith" cc? (I think that's what it's called) No I havent yet, I usually like to get on my own lol. But I prob will if it's a must have for DGS =P Can't you buy the ores? Try to do a Large whatever floor? Just high alch everything you see (esp the charms) and you should have enough for it - although it does take a while. -
Too bad there isn't a close by way to note your bones. Killing these bad boys = insta prayer levels :P
-
except for the part where a group of people lure a bunch of lessers who just 1 hit all the level 3s...

you shouldn't be using too much solution in your eye. I think that's the problem - there's this chemical in all solution that's supposed to break down proteins (which usually is the nasty stuff in your contact). My doctor always told me to wash the contact and not my eye.

Err, making the compost doesn't take that much time (and it gives a minor amount of exp as well). If you really want exp - you should probably go look at trees. Anyhow, if you farm all the herb + flower patches (5 herb, 4 flowers) + the four bush patches - I find that I can bring six watermelon seeds and just make some supercompost at the end. If you have a magic secateur - you can usually gather 15 watermelons from one allotment patch alone. However, if you're just into farming exp - go ahead and just farm the watermelons. It's pretty cheap for pretty decent exp. The profit from running herbs will be more then enough to cover the mediocre costs of the seeds. -
The pure essence nerf all those years ago cut off a large majority of F2P bots and dumped the bot problem on members worlds. (I think, there may have been tons of P2P bots before that happened.) I find it ironic that you would say something like after a bunch of posts talking about MEMBER bots bringing down the price of MEMBERS ONLY items.... As much as we hate bots, I'm not going to be one to complain about cheaper prayer potions or cheaper dragon bones. As for the wilde/free trade, it was originally removed because of the credit card fraud associated with RWT, and the Credit Card companies threatening to cut Jagex off because of it. Jagex has dealt with that particular issue, in part due to China making gold-farming illegal and due to alternative methods of payment for membership. I've reached the point where I realize how grindy RS is, and although I wouldn't risk my own account botting, I don't blame botters for doing so. The real issue behind botting, and the only way to remove it, is to address how grindy RS is in the first place. Why would you eliminate the wildy + free trade? It makes more sense if you're a successful gold farmer to bot in members anyhow. A member can definitely earn more then 5-6 dollars worth of gold in a month to cover the cost of the membership.

[spoiler=With Familiar] I could just imagine if you're fighting somebody. They're about to kill you in multi wildy and you desummon your familiar. "You cannot attack this person anymore"

What is considered a good amount of hunter potions? I want to finish collecting Corrupt vine and never look at another Diseased Jadinko. I will be mainly collecting juju farming/mining potions and will be using the Draconic to train to 99 hunter

There's been plenty of these topic so sorry.

you need 50 dg to bind two items but the surge box count as an ammo. (Imagine binding a staff but no runes or a bow with no arrows :P) not that either having a staff or a bow is > melee but it's a nice option to have. -
Smelting is horribly slow. I know smelting steel cannonballs are about 14k an hour and smelting any other bars are about the same speed. IIRC, steel bars are the fastest exp for smelting (just because you can hold more and less running around).

I'm pretty sure you don't kill the defilers and just attack them then trap them around the queen. ? No, if you don't kill the defilers - they range your archers to death. I don't think it's possible for you alone to out dps the healing of the pest larvae/drone whatever thingy-ma-bob that only the archers can target. All is Great is right, you shouldn't kill them, only trap them. Or else theyll respawn Where would you even trap them? They'll just range your rangers to death. I don't know how it was, but I just did it this weekend (on Saturday night/Sunday morning). I was fine just killing them as soon as they spawned. With your special attack costing only 20%, I found it easy to just spec them when it came out and drink a special attack restore if needed.

Please don't kill brawlers as they can block the shots from defilers and torchers (i.e) get 3 brawlers surrounding knight and your golden. Edit: To clarify, when someones standing around doing nothing, its possible that they're keeping the brawler to prevent the knight from taking excess damage from torchers and defilers. Generally, guarding the knight will yield the highest increase in wins since most people rush to the portals. Its important to note, there's a pattern in the way the shields are dropped. East, Southwest, Souitheast, West. East, West, Southwest, Southeast. Southeast, West, Southwest, East. Southeast, Southwest, West, East. West, Southeast, East, Southwest. West, East, Southeast, Southwest. The southern sections are generally the part that needs most heavily defended since there are 2 portals and only in one condition (the 4th) are they taken out quickly. In fact, most of the time they'll be up til the end. This makes it a good spot to nuke defilers down asap and to try to get an early brawler lure. I meant clear the brawlers in front of the portals. That's where most of the bots get stuck. I always leave the brawler in front of the knight if one makes it up that close.

While the difference in 147k and 140k may be trivial - I think that Thai_tong is doing all of us a pretty huge service in calculating the theoretical "hours" that all the players have til 200. Clearly, you can't compare 100 mil of cooking exp to 100 mil of agility exp and expect the same time commitment out of both - so he devised a way to determine this "distance" to 200 m. And as using the absolute most efficient way to do it is a great basis for calculation - it's assuming the same amount of time per skill for everybody. Yes, I understand that some skills are calculated with unrealistic assumptions (no time used to merchant/get more money) but it's the same assumption made for everybody. Thai_tong, thanks for providing the forum with actual numbers and taking your time to estimate how "far" each of the top 15 actually has to go. P.S. to whoever keeps crying about how he's being so precise - since when was aiming for perfection ever a bad thing? If he wants to be precise and record the exact amount of exp per hour or whether he's rounding to the nearest 10k, it's his decision and it shouldn't affect you so I don't see why everybody is so angry about such a small thing.

Please stop trolling in H&A. You just post non-sense and quite frankly, I'm tired of it. You never have anything helpful to say so just leave Well he's not really trolling. You asked where people are and most aren't playing MA because it's so boring and isn't really efficient to spend so much time on. IMO it's only useful for hardcore PVMers. As for the time, it should take about 25 hours at 12 ranks/hr. Suiciding siege is the best way to get that, and it's somewhat afk. Just buy 5 cannons and 10 light troops, line your troops on one side of the castle, and blow them up at the 26 minute mark. You'll have surplus credits by the end to spend on onyx, berserker, and others if you invest max credits. I lol'ed. I was referencing "where is everybody who plays this game so I can get in?" I was hoping for maybe a different world where people played MA or even a clan chat (like how some people play PC on an off theme world, etc to avoid the bots) Why would I be asking where the rest of runescape is? Yes, it's not stated explicitly - but what else could I have been asking
-
Finally got the game started - and unlocked Siege. Can anybody tell me a way to get the fastest rank? And approximately how long it'll take me to get from 0 rank to being able to enchant both an onyx ring as well as a berserker?

In reference to hunting Jadinko. - it's not so much as you described. You basically create an environment which is tailored to a specific Jadinko. It's not that one Jadinko is any more rare then another - the getting of the necessary seeds to create the environment may be a hassle. For now, you just need a ton of seeds (of all kinds) so go grab a artic bear (make sure to bring something that you can do like fletch arrows or high alch while waiting for some of the traps to set off. (It can be slow at first). Collect all the seeds you can and then start working on creating other "habitats" (a.k.a environments) where other Jadinkos will appear. It's one of those things that is hard to explain - but once you start doing it, it makes tons of sense.
