  1. so if your holding it it wont degrade? Nope, not unless something attacks you/you attack something. I'm a little confused about the mechanics. I know it works for a certain amount of "ticks/time". However, if you get attacked in a multi-zone, how are these ticks counted off? Are degradable armor/weapon counted the same way?
  2. I really do feel the same way. I've seen multiple RC capes and I was impressed at first. However, if you decide to craft nature runes - you can see that a few of these level 99 are bots. This is especially apparently if theres a GOP going on or a vex in front of the altar. Tons of bots just end up in front of the vex and stand around. I think Jagex should do a thing where if you get caught botting/banned - if you ever do return, your account cannot be on the high score (even if you do manage to get your stats back up to the orginal levels) This would make it easier especially when the head of a clan want to check your stats. No stats = botter, no entry into a clan. At the moment, there doesn't seem to be too many repercussions but hopefully, this will be amended. However, with that being said - I sometimes am actually very greatful to bots. Where else would I get such "cheap" herblore (the cost/exp ratio has gone down a bit), prayer, construction exp as well as tons of raw material like pure essences, ores, etc?
  3. What have you been smoking? Whatever you do, dont EVER unlock aquanites:) Gargoyles are fast and easy in kuradals dungeon, especially if you unlock the quicker killing blows. Dont skip fire giants, they are quite fast if your using a cannon. Tzaar is a botfest. If you like competing with a ton of bots for every kill......:S Spirit mages isnt a bad task either. The exp isn't great but you could kill about 200 in 40/45 mins with usually some dragon boots so definately not worth skipping... Quy said to not unlock aquanites - I assume that was just a mistake on your part. As I said earlier - I'm not going for money, I need to get my slayer up (trying to level up my total for now). While a few dragon boots may be amazing - I have more or less all I need for slayer (minus some summoning/turmoil). Where do you cannon fire giants? I tried it in the smoke dungeon near Polli and tbh it sucked. There was like 4-5? fire giants in the room and the cannon catch the dust devil a lot of the time :/ -To Quy, Should I skip the dragons? I think I have a bit of tokens saved up from playing FoG when I was f2p (that was more or less all I did) I've done the metal dragons a few time and they take forever (even with a rapier). Should I get dragon slayer glove for the metal dragons or should I skip them altogether? How about for the normal colored dragons - green/blue/red/black? What exp/hour should I be expecting? (Slayer only - not including the use of effigies which I will be saving until I can unlock them all myself. What combat exp per slayer am I looking at (with and without range)? I want to get 99 slayer without going overboard and maxing my combat. I do plan on getting 95 magic to fire surge a few tasks (low defense/strykeworms) and I wouldn't mind getting rigour to range a few tasks either?
  4. Hey guys, I've been working on getting some skill/items before I started slayer and I'm finally ready. I have standard slayer gear + extreme. I piety/cannon all my tasks. As soon as I finish up getting a few more rewards - can anybody suggest a task list? I'm looking for mainly slayer exp (as opposed to charms/profit/etc) I am willing to cannon any task, or do whatever is necessary to get the most exp/hour. Generally, I want this list to be sustainable - and I shall switch to Kuradal as soon as I get 75 slayer (unless somebody else will give faster exp) *Additionally, I will not mind spending extra gold per task although nothing crazy like barraging in sight. Additionally, are they any quests I should complete to unlock certain things? (i.e the cave where you can cannon Kalphites?) This is the list of slayer tasks to do. I will be updating this in accordance to the advice that you guys give. Tentative Tasks to Do (From Kuradal): -Black Demons -Gargoyles -Hellhounds -Ice Strykeworms -Kalphite
  5. I know a few people will get it, but 2080 hours at castle wars is a bit over 86 game-play days. That amount of gameplay for one achievement is a bit excessive. I think I would get Slayer to 99 before attempting the Champion's Challenge since you might save some time, but then again I only got got one scroll between levels 1-99. How would you save time by completing slayer before hunting the champion's challegene. I would advise - not skipping the slayer tasks where you *might* have a chance of getting Champions scroll (even if they are bad exp)
  6. lulwut? i'm pretty sure it's faster just clicking the bank (which is like 10 feet away) Lrn2read thread He asked about construction being useful from a previous post concerning banking for green dragons. Two seperate answers to two seperate questions. Hence why they are separated. You're advising him to kill mens but then answer a question about killing dragons? :/ Even at level 65, killing green dragons > killing men in edgeville.

  9. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you lose most of these items if you leave the house (if reference to larders/etc not the books)
  10. It's not the same. The Doomsayer's warning is a big black box (it's a whole different interface) Removing items shows a prompt where your text book normally is. I'm not sure about removing rooms though
  11. ^lol. Help you help me? When are you going to pay everybody back? After you finish getting all your skills to 200 M? Likely chance. 200 M via effigy only? :o
  12. You can buy a bunch of seeds off the ge for pretty cheap (look at a farming guide and look at hops/allotment/etc You can buy all the arrows, the bolts, all different types of feathers
  13. Sort of but not reallly. You'll use extreme atk/strs a lot more then extreme defs I suggest making 1k-1.5k max extreme (just counting the experience from 96-99 using overloads which probably isn't a good idea)
  14. If you play efficiently enough maxing an account(apart from 120 dungeoneering perhaps, that's around 400 hours on it's own) would take less than 2000 hours ingame time. So yeah, the trim requirements right now are about on par with maxing another account, mainly because of the cw requirement. But 120 dungeoneering should be included (it's a requirement for untrimmed afterall  ) so that's 2400 hours (100 days play time). And again, only assuming your able to be super efficient for 100 days solid play - i highly doubt anybody who owns an untrimmed completionist cape has anywhere near only 100 days of playtime. So my point is, to trim the cape you should have to do at least 100 days worth of play time in order to trim it - someone said 5000 CW tickets is 90 days... Sounds like a pretty fair requirement to me. You neglect that a trimmed 99 is > a untrimmed 99 A trimmed completionist just gives another emote... If you're going to compare two things - they should scale similarly. You shouldn't be wasting >a year of playing to get pretty much nothing added. Sounds silly TBH. I'd say it is scaled fairly. As I pointed out 5000 CW Tickets is 90 days, where as a (very very low in my opinion) 100 days is what has been said it will take to get a completionist cape. More than 10 days difference, and tbh a measly +4 prayer bonus (especially when a soul wars cape is better anyway) isn't something you'd get another 99 for - you get it for the cosmetic trim and the achievement itself. Infact when I was getting my 2nd 99 in order to get my own trim (and I hate to say it, but I got fletching to trim cooking  ) I wasn't even aware that the trimmed cape had any better stats - I just wanted to have that trim, to show that I had at least 2 99s. As for scaling - I was referring to stats as opposed to the time commitment. I guess some people play to get their stats noticed and what better way to do it then get the full completionist cape? I don't think I would commit to that extent. Killing chompies? Really? At least Castle Wars/Barbarian is fun.
  15. It seems to me that most of the people cutting magic trees are either a.) bots b.) people afking but that seems to be the cases with a lot of the higher leveled resource gatherers.
  16. I think that you might as well use the small pouch. Considering that you can fill pouches from the bank - there's only a few second differential in using/not using it. I'm almost certain that it's more exp if you used this (and it'll get better as how much attention you pay goes down). In either case, it'll be better to use it then not.
  17. It's definately a way to keep people occupied. The amount of time it'll take to max all your skills, your quests, your music sound tracks and get a certain rank in most of the minigames is "impressive"

  19. An trimmed 99 has better stats then a normal 99. If you had to get two accounts that were "completed" how would you a.) link them? b.) choose where the completionist cape goes? lol, split the completionist cape in half and make it into a scarf?
  20. If you have scroll of cleansing you might want to make the unf potions yourself though.. I guess it depends how you value your time/xp If you go grimy's spreadsheet - the profit per hour on unf pots have been dropping (more like tanking) When I try to do it - only get about ~2850-2900 unf pots an hour (probably due to me not paying 100% attention) as opposed to Grimy's 3073 per hour so I can only assume that I would make less profit. If you have access to a cannon/semi decent melee stats/enough summoning for a BOB, then you can make over 1 mil per hour. But this is definately less click intensive then some things like gathering cactus spines/spikes/fungus.
  21. I think everybody agrees that if you get the completionist cape - you're actually enjoying this game not grinding just for a few achievements However, the main problem seems to be that 5k castle war games is a little bit ridiculous. Granted - you have fun but you shouldn't have to waste (what is the estimate at? like 2 straight months?) of playing castle wars? A lot of these things do take time, i.e 4k chompy kills, all the various quests/minigames/etc but honestly - 5k castle wars? That's a little bit over the top.
  22. http://grimy.freeforums.org/temporary-spreadsheet-thread-t3.html Here's his spreadsheets From this, it seems like you should be making -summoning potions (~3.5 gp per exp) -super atk/str/def (they're all sitting around 11-12 gp per exp) I would double check the prices on GE (i.e testing the values since the markets been kind of erratic lately) You might even want to look into buying the potions unf and just finshing them (the price have been really similar as of late)
  23. ^This. However, I would take some time and opt for a Dragon Defender. There's nothing really better then it and you usually won't need the few defense points difference from the Dragon Square Shield (if you do - just bring more food or use better food) Also, don't get a fighter's torso like Gold Tatze said - it simply takes too long for it to be of any value Like Helm said, get a black mask - some guthans armor for the body/legs (verac works nicely), dragon boots, a berserker ring, and the best RFD gloves but if you can't get dragon/barrow - go get a regen bracelet instead.
  24. lol, not really. God dammit, I've spent the past half an hour or so playing siege. THIS GAME SUCKS. I can't even change the camera with my arrow keys and it's so frustrating. I know the popular tatic is to suicide at four minutes but I have found that you can use this to your advantage. What I would do is, start off by attacking the castle war (or just sit idle for a minute and observe the enemies. *I would like to say that I don't really know the rules of the game -Some people start gathering and setting up cannons, etc -Some people try to attack you and kill you off Blah blah blah, basically - these are the active people, those that are trying actively to beat you In these cases, I'll rush all my units into the castle - but if it seems like they're going to try and kill me before the 4 minute mark, I'll take a few of my units (usually 3 is enough) and make them run around before giving up at 4 minutes This is the better setup for us, we can get 2 ranks every ~6ish minutes -Most people head straight for the castle and start attacking (it seems that most of these people are either bots or don't care if I attack their units) -Some people just quit (they just join and then forfeit) If this is the case, try to send all but one or two of your units to the castle to attack while having this unit just roam (I do this so you don't get penalized for not issuing enough commands) I just wander around until most of the other teams are defeated (this is usually around the 4ish minute range). If you're super active - pull out the units that are about to die and hide them. Anyhow, once you're at or nearing the 4 minute mark - just bring your armies around and attack everybody. I usually go 3 heavies of each class and a light elf (no real reason). I'll definately use the combat triangle to my advantage and just let my units kill theirs. Most of the time this takes about 5-6 minutes at which point you win the game and get 2 ranks instead of 1. I'll learn the game more indepth after finals, etc. For now, I'm just going to do other afkable things - this game is so slow and so freaking boring.
  25. That's what I was thinking. I would suicide in real life after all of that in-game suiciding. :shades: You said it. So what if I kill the enemy in less then 4 minutes? :( If anything I should get more ranks, not get limited!
