  1. http://grimy.freeforums.org/temporary-spreadsheet-thread-t3.html Just make the cheapest potion you can - resell it and then buy more ingredients of the cheapest potion Keep doing this over and over. Super atk/str are generally pretty cheap so you can make those but if theres a potion that beats it in terms of cost (and is a reasonable way to level - so not normal strength potions or something) then ditch the supers and just buy them later.
  2. If you want a good approximation of how many dragons per hour - you need to tell us: a.) the gear you are using b.) your levels c.) turmoil/piety d.) yak e.) overloads or extremes? when are you repotting
  3. If you don't want to "throw" away your life then you can log off of runescape and go find something that makes you feel like you're not wasting time. That argument could be said about anything. Why play xbox, it doesn't contribute to you're life...oh except for the fact that it's fun. Some people don't find levels 1-98 fun on runescape. So they bot to 99. Once they are their, everything is fun. I don't like losing, so i'm going to go hack the game to pwn noobs. I don't find getting better fun, once i start pwning, then everything is fun. A normal person's response is to simply not grind and do something else on runescape, or if the game just sucks that bad just stop playing it. An addicted and lazy person's response is to bot or rwt, because for some reason they love parts of the game that much. Except you don't get any better. Chopping trees at level 1 requires the same amount of skills as chopping trees at level 90. Who wouldn't say yes to free effigies/exp lamps/etc in a skill? Essentially, that's why people use bots. It gets them "free" exp in a skill without them actually having to train it. I don't think bots are helpful to the game but those who think that players that bot a.) care too much about the game so they have to bot b.) are immoral people who can't tell the difference between right and wrong are very deluded. @ i_trollz_u You can't possible just give one example (or one particular story) and expect that to be the truth throughout. It's never so clear cut like that.
  4. you never actually lose money from MTK (using maples + coal) if that's your question. think of MTK as your buying the item from GE for "less" and then flipping it for "more"
  5. I think he replaced the claws with a fury and zerker ring, so he won't be getting any Herblore levels with the 3M leftover. I meant he can now make $ for Herblore levels. :P and before he couldn't? haha
  6. Learn monsters' weaknesses, piety all monsters, don't kill anything unless you absolutely have to, use all spots then leave the dungeon, rinse and repeat :) I believe the Frozen Plateau floors are the only ones with enough fishing spots for this to be a good method You might as well finish the DG if you're exploring the whole dungeon anyways. Correct me if I'm wrong - but people use the lower floors to get the best fishing exp + getting some lower leveled floors that people don't do Larges on out of the way.
  7. Lol, botters are evil people with no souls :o I agree that runescape is grindy - but it doesn't mean you have to enjoy the grind. I hated runecrafting but it was made more bearable since I had a clan competition/people to chat with. A lot of the fun begins towards the end of the game so I can understand why people would bot to get over these menial tasks. However, it doesn't mean botters are bad people. They're not harming anybody with what they're doing so I don't see this "immoral" and "unmotivated" logic making any sense. Just because they're not willing (or maybe don't have the time) to play 4-5 hours a day doesn't make them any worse of a person then you or I.
  8. Lol, I'm very fond of the arguments where people bring up botting as a moral wrong. They make it seem like it's paramount to robbing an old lady.
  9. str (i.e an aggressive stance where possible)
  10. Agreed - If they decided to make a crazy rank for MA, that would be pretty insane. The interface is horrible - the preface is horrible and the design is horrible. The only reason people play MA is for the random items you can buy or if you like being bewildered by how ridiculous the game is.
  11. Yes, I know a guy who runs 200 accounts on virtual systems, solely for the purpose of gold. Why do you think their are rwting sites? Would there not be if it wasn't a viable option for making money? And all you really have to do is activate a bot, and let it run on it's on, barely any interaction is involved. Because people who don't bot are generally people who don't feel pressured to grind to 99, and thus don't feel the need to bot. The person that bots to 99 agililty obviously wants 99 agility more than the person who just doesn't train agility because he CBA to do it and doesn't play for 99s, because for some reason the botter feels the need to have 99 agility on the account. If the person doesn't care about playing the game, why would he even be botting it? Only explanation is that there is some external reason for having 99 agility, or the person has some insatiable addiction to RS that he can't be comfortable unless he is constantly gaining those crucial expees. Just because they bot for levels doesn't mean they don't enjoy the game. They don't like the part of the game that they bot =0 Which happens to be 99% of the game. Also, someone who didn't bot and just didn't try and achieve 99 agility would care less about the game, both for the grind and about the part that the botter thought was fun, so again it is asinine to say that people that play the game care too much compared to people that bot. Someone bot 24/7s and pays money for a party hat, because they don't like grinding and feel some sort of need to get high stats. I'm someone that doesn't care about getting a party hat, wasting time grinding, and spends the majority of my time pking with occasional farm runs for about 1-2 hours a day, because i find it fun. Who do you think cares more? You provide valid examples - but this is not a clear cut case. You keep mentioning about those players who "bot" to 99 agility? I bet that most of the agility bots have a specific goal in mind rather then 99 agility. This also the reason that you will see more bots at high level resource gatherings then bots who just run agility courses all day long. I would not be surprised if >90% of the bots on runescape are actually just RWT trying to gold farm. In that case, you're definitely the one who cares more about RS and they're just in it for the money. Either way, I'm not sure what the point you're trying to prove is. Your claim seems to be that a main reason for botting isn't RWT. Which is erroneous to say the least. Why the hell do you think people are botting at all these places which provide money per hour? The thousands of people mining pure essence sure is hell isn't mining for the 5k? or whatever nonsense exp it is per hour. Same for yews, coal, blue dragons, etc. You keep making an point of saying "RWT is really stupid - I can make more money then botters in the same time they spend botting." That's a horrible argument. You can be working, but what's to stop the botter from botting and working as well? If you're making X dollars an hour - are you saying you would absolutely refuse any extra income from leaving your computer on? The RWT/botting business is so big only because it is profitable and has a reason to exist. If nobodys making money - I HIGHLY doubt that there would be as many bots running around doing various "money-making" tasks.
  12. To the OP: By arcane - I can only assume you're speaking of the arcane stream necklace which is a DG reward? That doesn't tell much about your cash pile/how many you're willing to spend.
  13. ? Don't some of his attacks disable your mage pray? I think that's what the OP is having trouble with. Unless you can gather the ingredients as you're running DG's - making these potions probably won't be effective for either exp/killing the boss. To be honest, dungeoneering to level 60ish is just hellish. Just try to use lamps/penguin points like everybody has said until you have access to abandons. Sometimes DGS runs floors 1-29 C1 (do this after you can start on aba's) I wouldn't worry about it so much - just either try to level past this w/ lamps/penguin points/etc or just grind it and take a few deaths.
  14. Why is everybody into repeating the same thing or making sarcastic remarks? If the OP asks a question and it gets answered, what does either repeating a previous comment without adding anything new or making a sarcastic comment that revolve around the same topic going to do?
  15. From what I've heard - unless you have maxed stats, chaotics + overloads, you're can get easily crashed at Bandos. If I were you, I would sell the dragon claws asap and buy some herblore levels. Herblore was pretty cheap a few weeks ago and it looks like it's on the rise again. Either way, super sets/extreme sets will help more in every circumstance then will a pair of dragon claws now (especially maybe? pking in the wildy) If you're looking for an item to buy, go grab a berserker ring and then dump the rest into herblore. If that's not an option, take the money you get from the claw and start flipping merching. With a little bit of common sense and practice - you will make more per day flipping then the price of dclaws will rise. In fact, dclaws are dropping slightly everyday - so it would wise to change that item into a cash pile unless you're using it extensively.
  16. It's funny how many people want to play mod. It's not harming anybody and if the mods want to consolidate these threads - then it's going to be consolidated. Nobody's choosing you to read these threads - if it's been said, skip it and read a different thread. This is a forum and undoubtedly, you're going to get many players who would rather start a new topic rather then search up older ones and add to it. Just look at the H&A for example. 99% of these threads can be either: a.) answered w/ a quick google b.) answered through simple knowledge/calculations c.) answered by searching up a past thread It's not going to change no matter what people say :(
  17. I'm confused. If anything, it's the people who don't actually care about RS that bot it. Those who take it seriously (presumably) want to play it - despite the grinding nature. Plus, botting can be extremely profitable (especially if you have a few computers/a decent internet provider. Just look at all the bots at the blue dragon dungeon in the Taverley resource dungeon (there's at least 3-4 per world at ALL times of the day. 95% of them have the same gear/similar names. I'm sure that many of these are owned by one person/company/whatever these botting groups are called these days. If you think about it - it's probably not hard at all to make one mill in three hours on a bot. If you have a couple of computers - that can easily add up. I wouldn't bot because for me, runescape is a game and it's something to do when I'm relaxing from a long day at school. THAT being said, if I were to get paid for running a program on my computer and just leaving it on - I would probably say yes.
  18. you must be a mind reader! i only understood the first half of that
  19. ^This is all true. Bringing special restores + a dragon claw for slayer tasks will speed them up A LOT.
  20. The early construction levels are extremely cheap - so I'd suggest you use the ToG exp on your next lowest skill (55 Dung) which is a much better choice in my opinion.
  21. Not really considering you're wielding a dlong and it makes no sense for the game to unequip it when your attack level falls below a certain threshold. You can use skill boosts for a ton of things (i.e herblore/hunter/etc) so using it for RC may actually work (I didn't say it would be effective - seeing as you would have to stew every two minutes or so, just to fill it up)
  22. While a lot of these setups look pretty great - I think that having an altar + the menagerie right next to the garden is the best idea. I realize that using a chapel there does suck because it causes a dead end right away - I feel that, it's one of the most important rooms in the house. While training prayer (may not be very common), nobody wants to unlock two doors every time they go to worship some bones. However, if you feel that it's not as important as the transition the dining room offers or the teleports you can stick near the entrance - good luck with that!
  23. so if your holding it it wont degrade? Nope, not unless something attacks you/you attack something. I'm a little confused about the mechanics. I know it works for a certain amount of "ticks/time". However, if you get attacked in a multi-zone, how are these ticks counted off? Are degradable armor/weapon counted the same way? I belive chaotics degrade for each time you are attacked. I know when I got my first rapier (just a few weeks after dungeoneering came out) I got a dagganoth task and went to the dags in the CTs. I was being hit by like 10-20 dags while there, and in about an hour of being there or so, I lost over 15% of my charges, so I guess it degrades when you get hit? I thought this was true. I was at black demons and I lost 1%? However, I went to hellhounds and lost like 3-4%
  24. I mean, theoretically - that's not a bad idea. At least this way - people would actually DG from 1-120 as opposed to 60-120. I like some parts of the idea, however: -this punishes efficiency/high combat -as people said earlier - you could just afk -how would this scale with your level? I do agree that some of the penalties are too harsh. Dying once or twice puts a pretty huge dent into your exp and a lot of the times, it's due to a sudden lag spike at bosses While punishing death does make sense (so you can't just run around with turmoil on at all times), 14% (or whatever it is) for the first death is a little bit outrageous.
  25. Anyhow, to get back to the thread - Is there anybody can post some of the better slayer tasks (that I should do) along with approximate slayer exp/hour? Or rates per task and how long it takes the task? Hoping to compile a list that can be used in the future. Of course, if there's a innovative way to complete this task - I love to know about that too. However remember, that I'm going for EXP rates not profit and not so much charms. I'm fairly certain that I'll get 99 summoning before 99 slayer (I am planning to burst rock lobs to level up to fire surge)
