It's Like It's New...
Hold the phone: Jagex made the games room, shades of mort'ton, and rat pits popular again? We may just be dealing with an omnipotent being here.

Aug 15, 2007: Dev diaries and themed worlds update
- Favorite "Themed" Worlds?
I like the concept of the rp-ing worlds. I set up my own homes in certain places.- Dumb beginner thoughts...
I remember seeing people selling laws, thinking that people were selling pieces of paper that had rules of the game written down on them. :wall:- Who can you make with new player kits?
If you could do afros, I'd make myself a /b/tard (black afro, black suit).- Hi-score links broken
I'm not sure when this occured, but I just noticed it tonight (couldn't find a post in the past few pages). The hiscores links on people's profiles (that go to the official rs pages) are now dead. The old format is this: http://hiscore-web.runescape.com/lang/en/aff/runescape/hiscorepersonal.ws?user1=mtomali While the new one should be this: http://hiscore.runescape.com/hiscorepersonal.ws?user1=mtomali (mtomali being replaced with the person's name of course)- Emote clue bug
This makes me want to do my clue scroll *looks at the "beware of double agents" message on clue scroll* Edit: Can you say, whole bunch of people about to be freaked out at the fishing guild?- Weekly Poll: How many clan chats do you visit?
I've only used one or two, mainly for trading and buying materials.- Barbarian Assault bug... (nothing to abuse)
I thought it was pretty self explanatory. Davie 4321 is not on the roster, and therefore not on the team, yet is still in the game.- what do YOU use clan chat for??
I use it to negotiate deals on my pure on time, place, and cost to return items I've pked off of them, as well as a place to talk to all of my friends collectively.- Bring Bruce Springsteen into Runescape!
Sure they can. They just have to jumble his name: Brian O' Richard = Richard O' Brian- OMG LAG
Where do you live? Games haven't been "on average, 2mb" since...Oh I'd say 10 years ago :-w- You've been playing for...
It's pretty obvious that they do keep a database on it. If you haven't noticed during the past few ban notices: Player X Total Level: Over 1600 Total time in-game: 140 days, 8 hours Status: Permanently banned for real-world trading Player Y Total Level: Over 1550 Total time in-game: 89 days, 14 hours Status: Permanently banned for real-world trading Player X Total Level: Over 1440 Total time in-game: Over 92 days Status: Permanently banned for real-world trading Player Y Total Level: Over 1500 Total time in-game: Over 113 days Status: Permanently banned for real-world trading- Location, Location, Location
My guess is that the east will come with the sequel to Devious minds. I just hope that the big war update this month isn't in the wilderness.- What happened to yesterdays update?
Well actually jagex explained the minigame couldn't work. I don't remember exactly, though, if it was a graphics problem, how the minigame worked, ect. It's unlike jagex to include last month's update in a later month, infact to my memory they have never done so before. Once they release something into the behind the scenes, it's either going to come out that month or never. Though I must say again I could be wrong, I'm just asuming that. Though on the bright side jagex kept their promise that the clan chat would be put into the game this year. :) Sandwich Lady. Was mentioned in a behind the scenes and wasn't released until almost a year later. Smaller update, but at least it's proof that it's happened before. It also seems unlikely that Jagex would just scrap several updates, music or not, in the matter of a few weeks (which would be right before their completion)- Rememeber When?
You never could. It was listed in the clothes store, but was never in stock. Remember when Miniclip didn't advertise Runescape, before the tidal wave of morons showed up (not referring to the person I quoted)- Free-Player Poll
Jagex never said that F2P would never get new updates, the graphics, quest graphics, holiday items, and stronghold would contradict that quite blatantly, wouldn't it? The party room being placed in falador was part of Jagex's ongoing attempts to quell scamming, this time with fake drop parties that plague f2p.- Autoers: Friend or Foe?
They're filthy cheaters, who blatantly break rules with no regard or respect for the players around them or Jagex. Foe. Nuff said.- The stupidity of summoning...
Your theory would hold more merit if Jagex hadn't already come out and said that RS3 will never happen. Idiot. As for thinking you know how summoning will work, look at construction and all the theories that preceeded it before it was released. Giant blocks of land with millions of houses, people complaining that it would cause the servers to crash, more whining about the "ruined economy". Jagex has a way of surprising all of us with big updates.- Death Interface
Stupid suggestion. As swordwind has already said, it would ruin pking, bring up a whole bunch of new lures, and just generally help noobs in general. And Unknown_Error, yea, I'm sure anyone would have no problem pking a >100k rune scimitar over the clearly less profitable 200mil party hat. But good job putting up the intellectual defense of a 6 year old.- Not allowed to put rs vids on Youtube?
Reasons: I believe its not just copyright, but I am not sure what options Jagex had when they sent rant to youtube. hmm..i am thinking what it could be,perhaps its because names of players that can be seen in videos, and other people who watch video can post textual comment ,and perhaps they can mention some other runescape names Text Coment posters can also post many diffrent stuff, you clearley explained in your post that Jagex doesnt have to do anything with Youtube, where i absolutley agree Anyway, when I ask myself why did Jagex complain - maybe because little kids playing runescape would be really interested in looking up those videos - because youtube is so popular website, and they might be encouraged to post similar texts in runescape forums or somthing like that... I got no clue, but i believe it has to do with things i mentioned...not exactly like that, but must be somthing similar Anyway I also believe that Youtube didnt have to search for reasons that much, since Jagex is strong company, and still...when u look it better...its game they made Conclusion: Artisticly i say it is not correct for all possible reasons But Technically it is correct what Jagex/Youtube did Technically, maybe. Artistically, definitely wrong. However legally, which was the stand they were trying to make by taking it down, incorrect. I uploaded a picture of Runescape's homepage with "There are 0 people playing!" during the power outage in the last month, and the admin took it down because she was afraid Jagex would try to sue her for copyright infringement #-o- Can we possibly have yet ANOTHER skill!?
Umm...Summoning is going to be a spellbook. That's why it's described as summoning "spells" not a summoning "skill". Either way, how do you know Runescape can't handle it? You don't even know how summoning is going to work, short of the basic concept of: -Creature not present -Summon! -Creature present. Besides, Jagex said there wouldn't be an rs3, so that throws that theory clear out the window.- W99 ankous in sos - bug I believe.
Hmm, always gives a random you say? I'll have to confirm it, but it may be reportable....hard to tell. If it is true, it would technically give them an unfair advantage. Edit: Is it only in that world? Edit: I've tried it in world 99, it's the northeastern ankou room, correct? Becasue I buried about 50 bones in the eastern section of the room and didn't get a single random.- Item Killer
So you think JaGeX wants to lose over $6M a month because some nolifer nerds can't handle their addiction? You just summed up the thread starter in 6 words.- White Dragons, White D'hide (another successful idea?)
Mithril Dragons are in the game... they were my idea. They may be in the game but that doesn't mean that it was your idea. They ended up being much different from your idea and not even close. With al the suggestions being made, it was bound to happen that eventually, one of the suggestions would be realeased while sharing some similarities such as name but the general idea being way off. You did not create these dragons. As for your idea being the actual one in the end, Posted: Fri Jun 08, 2007 1:07 pm. Your suggestion was made on that day. Something like impetuos impulses took 28 Weeks to make according to the developement diaries. Compared to this update that was small. So I doubt it was made in 8 weeks. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day so if you'd bother learning about the new update you would know that the idea is pretty much nothing like yours. Actually the idea kept growing as more people contributed and I meant the base monsters were my idea... their location is different and how to get to them and their surroundings etc. There are bronze, iron, and steel dragons, and you think you're the first person to imagine going one metal higher to mithril? On that subject, I'm going to suggest that Jagex fill the F7 tab with some sort of clan chat (Clan support was promised for this year, remember). When it comes out, my idea. - Favorite "Themed" Worlds?
