  1. You're assuming Jagex is doing this to bring in more members because they think the content isn't enough, which is not only presumptive, but based off of no facts whatsoever and just makes the person raising the question look like they're grasping for anything and everything to make some nonexistent point. If you think that the $10,000 giveaway is members only because Jagex is grabbing for money, rather than to weed out a mass amount of throwaway accounts, you should probably sit down and stop posting. It's better to keep quiet and have people think you have no idea what you're talking about, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
  2. Consider bot hunting a paying job, and this is how Jagex pays you to do it.
  3. No, it's a pretty piss poor question that offers no intelligent conversation and boils down to "omg dat bidness iz trying to maek a profet?? BOYCOTT WE PAY WE SAY JKFSKLDFJKLDAJKLFJKL"

Many of the items on the Grand Exchange are priced as they are because you lose them on death. Take the Guthan's set for example. Helmet: High alch = 61k GE Price = 1.2mil Platebody: High alch = 168k GE Price = 666k Both items are rare drops that can only be brought into the economy through Barrows mini-game. When a player's drop pile disappears, the helm is removed from the economy. The platebody, however, is more likely to remain on the player when they respawn. Less helmets in the economy, mixed with more players replacing helmets, equates to more demand and less supply, ergo higher price. By placing the Grand Exchange price as the basis for drop on death, you would end up with a system where prices fluctuate even worse than they do now. The helmet would be kept, meaning its price would drop and the platebody would rise, until a point where the prices intersect and the helmet begins to drop, and the platebody is kept, starting the whole process over again. Keeping the system stable keeps the economy stable.
  5. Jagex should ban the cheaters like they promised with their never-fail bot catcher.
  6. Runescape before the optional filter http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zfC_KHgmkI Runescape after the optional filter (not safe for work) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HOFRGOzknQ&feature=related
  7. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. More appropriately, all scape and no sleep makes Obtaurian a chillax guy.
  8. I DIY. Part of my day involves farming sweetcorn and potatoes, cooking the Tuna I receive from Manage Thy Kingdom, and making tuna potatoes.
  9. Meanwhile the rest of us are sitting at the horse races laughing while we put all our money on the single horse we didn't sedate before the race.
  10. At that rate, it'd be like our government trying to stop Al Qaeda by out-terroristing them. "We're going to blow up two of your buildings" "Yea well we're going to level the entire state of Texas with a barrage of Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles." Then we can all revel in how Jagex truly was not only the direct cause of their own death, but that suicide was the only thing they were truly efficient at.
  11. Where is the logic behind giving 31 days of membership one second, 28 days of membership the next second? If you bought a month of membership on the 31st, your membership will last 2-3 days longer than when you would have bought it a day later. Makes no sense. I don;t get why people find this so confusing or weird. The entire world works this way. If you pay £200 rent a month, you still pay the same amount for less time in february. If you have a contract phone you are billed monthly and free allowances run monthly, which again means less time for feb. In the entire world of buying things it is FAR more unusual for a monthly payment to relate to a set number of days, instead they run by numerical date. Phone contract payments for my bill are taken on the 19th of the month every month. Rent payments go on the first of very month. Bill (on a fixed tariff) come in on the 20th of every month. Broadband comes in on the 18th of every month. They all cost the same amount (assuming don't go over the tariff allowences) regardless of the month of the year. Yea, but Jagex is doing it, which means it must only be Jagex doing it because they are stupid jerk face scam artist poop-heads.
  12. My reaction: Perhaps they'll be able to fix that with PJ'ing, make the timer bigger.
  13. even though i dont really like wildy comeing back etc, removeing pvp worlds was a good thing. How is PVP world not desirable/harmful? It is optional, provides less competition in some activities, no/kill-able bots and makes brawlers more useful. RS was like that anyway in 2001. Runescape in 2001 was crap. It was unfinished, the quests were inflated by having you walk all around the world to gather the items or talk to NPCs just to waste time, several of the skills on the list weren't even functional, there was almost no economy, and free pvp was simply a question of which clan zerged which area.
  14. No it isn't, no it isn't, no it isn't. ITT: Disenfranchised player doesn't like the game as much as he used to, the game must be dead or dying.
  15. Not sure about chaotics but Ovls work fine in Chaos Tunnels. So you can bring extremes through wilderness ditch but just not use them inside wildy? If you're in the wilderness and use them, or use them then go into the wilderness, they reset to Super Potion stats.
  16. Allegedly Jagex has a big bot-busting mass ban coming in place with a new detection system that will solve all of our troubles. /rose tinted glasses.
  17. That page summed up: "Wut? Jagex also likes pk'ers? Bawww!"
  18. 10am eastern? You're on. For me it's 4pm, which is 3pm JaGeX time. I'll bet you 10001gp! (Take that, restricted trade and your 10k max!) I have a 60k trade max. Make it 60,001. Then you'll have to make a guess too, closest one to the update wins 60,001 gp from the other! Knowing Jagex, I'm going to say 8:30amEST, which is an hour and a half before your estimation.

  20. I think this just about sums up the OP.
  21. Im talking about the 1.5x exp you get in pvp worlds. PvP worlds are being removed...so no.
  22. I think it was Mark Gerhard who was screenshotted in either the forums or his clanchat saying that 2011 was going to be the year of clan support. Hopefully we'll get more than just clan support, or else I'm going to have to join a clan.
  23. They've managed to avoid that by placing a ban on direct intervention in the lore. Remember, if the gods directly intervene, Guthix will throw a full [cabbage]-fit and destroy the world.
