This idea is not possible. A world is not just a plane of existence in the game, it is a server in real life. The reason you cannot login is because the server is throwing a connection error, but using a java try{}catch(Exception e){} block of code the error is shown as not being able to log in. The server does not know who you are, all it knows is that it is full. A "games room" is even more impossible for this same reason.
What you don't take into account with this idea is the file size of the map, the map has a resolution of 3968px by 3584px and takes 1.62 MB. Every time you would want to view the map it would have to be reloaded into the applet. On dial-up a 1.62 MB download takes approximately 29 seconds. During that 29 seconds the applet would be pre-occupied with fetching the image and the player would not be able to control his character. Which would very quickly result in death and loss of items in many cases.
Interesting ideas, but you might want to fix "apperence" (should be appearance) and the use of "affect" where it should be "effect", more people might take it seriously then.
setCursor(new java.awt.Cursor(java.awt.Cursor.WAIT_CURSOR)); ^would set the cursor to the hourglass while the mouse is over a Component type Object in Java. It would not be hard to add their own cursor constants into a custom IDE and it would be very small, if it was a pixel-based image at 10x10 pixels it would be at most 10 kb, but if vector based it would almost be negligible.
Yes, actually they are hackers... They hack into peoples accounts, hence the name "hackers". Yes, I know there are ways around this. Making the username case sensitive would simply reduce the amount of hacks, since it would be harder to hack into another players account. They don't "hack" anything. Hacking by definition would require them to force their way inot the Jagex database and steal the account; then again why steal a worthless account when they could just get zezima? Hacking has been non-existant since rs1. Anyone who loses their account now has been keylogged, there is literally almost no other way to get a password.
Every party based MMO i can think of you can see your members life..be it planetside, shadowbane, WoW.... This sounds like a decent idea though, even if the spelling in the property window for "features" is spelled wrong
[quote name="Vaki_Sanake" And I think the rate of hackers is going up drastically' date=' in the past weeks 3 of my friends have been hacked, each one losing at least 5m in stuff they had in their inventory. None of 'em lost their accounts but -5m sets you back at lvl 90. [/quote] Or maybe its just the rate of people who dont know how to protect their computer..or that music is never a [Caution: Executable File] .bat .swf .jar file etc etc
Well I've been gone a while and I have no idea the status of this thread? Some1 fill me in? My latest: EDIT: oh wow..last post almost a month ago...I got to this by a bookmark..I probably should look at that kinda thing next time.
:wall: :wall: :wall: So you are saying that a spolied 8 year old could get his parents to buy him all the items that I have spent my time and effort getting? HORRIBLE IDEA
Actually it would be extremely easy and would look something like this: If targetMonster.isSlayerTask() { targetMonster.setDropGem(true); } ----- The downside to this suggestion is that sometimes a person would want a long slayer task; I know that I love getting large tasks of fire giants and lesser demons because they are easy to kill, and I wind up with alot of slayer exp.
doh..and i wanted 2 sign up last minute so i could see all the competition :( oh well..under lvl 90s be glad i wont be bringing my ice barraging lvl 82
cool and nice job man but ur not a skiller, a skiller is a level 3 with high non combat stats ur just a lvl 90 with high other stats and very nice indeed
ever tried holding down ctrl while walking? ----- On another note, as a student programmer myself i fully agree with everything you've said. I often find myself thinking "wow I could fix that." In my opinion thats not something that I should be thinking about in a corporate run game.
Heck I don't even program things for runescape (or any other game) and I laugh. I program for school and I know what Jagex does with randoms is pathetic. Every time I get a new one I instantly can see how to get around it, it isn't hard.
Log out, call your friend, get him to start teleporting like mad until he gets the random, he calls you back when hes in the matrix, you log in, you die, he gets your stuff, he gives it back to you and you repay him for the laws
