IMO: Win. I don't like the wilderness, because the only people in there a lot are penguin hunters, and people killing them. Fewer people who can attack me is nice. Tbh I totally agree, I would not give a shite if the wilderness went away again. As much as people whined and wanted it back even with it back it's utter tripe. Long gone are the days of honour where pkers would (in general) defend or ignore people obviously doing clues or agility or w/e and would aim for decent battles from which they would not flee. Now we have a bunch of kids 'owning' unarmed skillers and peng hunters by piling them 50:1 and that's about it. Don't judge the wilderness when you don't use it for its main function. NoScript absolutely would prevent it, as NoScript flat out doesn't allow Java to run at all. Reverting to 3 versions ago though..is pointless. The current version is Java 7 update 6, this affects all versions of Java 7. Reverting to Java 6 would only make you even more vulnerable to exploits that were patched with Java 7.

Or just not go to strange sites, seeing how this exploit requires visiting a custom made website for the sole purpose of infecting the user... The exploit is insanely simple (Less than 12 lines of code) and to say you need to visit a "custom made website" to be infected is completely ignorant and misleading. All you have to do is visit a website that has been compromised and had a few lines of code automatically added to the bottom of every .php file on the server. It happens all the time and it is usually too late for many, many users by the time it has been noticed.

By not updating to Java 7 however; you are vulnerable to older exploits, the safest thing to do is be fully updated and use something like noscript to only allow java to run on sites you allow.

Is the only part of the "12 Things (Still) Wrong with RuneScape in 2012" article that I disagree with. While I can agree that many of the extremely active floor sellers may be involved in RWT I can't agree that the majority of floors are bought with RWT'd gold. In fact I would believe just the opposite, that the majority of those who buy floors do so instead of selling their GP.

Yep. If Jagex were really committed to removing gambling from RuneScape they would have done something about the methods of gambling, like they did with the horse and dice. They don't even have to remove the items from the game, just: 1.) Divide the mithril flowers into different seeds for different colors. 2.) Take the random draw items and just make them repeat in succession instead of randomly. Like the Classic Cape will always go bar - arrow - etc. And none of this has any effect on the blackmarket dicing that takes place on IRC
