I did self-scouted stars in pvp worlds. Took a little over a month (8 hour days 5 days a week) from 85 or so. 99.9% AFK and just under 30k/hr. I'd do it again. But mine might be better now that there is a dragon pick in the rewards

No, I feel more like a boomer on here than not. Truth be told I never realized you were on TIF. Though I never actually looked at any forum other than general in my time here. How are you mining? Stars are super afk at ~27k/hr if you do them on a pvp world and no more than 1 person joins you. I hear the new ess thing is also good xp for being so AFK too. Me, I'm closing on 2277.. only a few more months

The biggest shame of all isn't the fact that people have moved on from internet forums, it is that almost all of the images posted to internet forums such as this are lost to the ages. Sure, the video I made of me doing barrows in 2005, that I recorded with Unregistered Hypercam2 that I uploaded to rapidshare.de is gone, but the memories that I have with it will remain with me.. The same can't be said for memories that aren't with me, but were posted here... all the history of this game, of the people that played it, is fleeting, and only salvaged by the fact that this forum remains online. Does anyone remember the 'RSDemon Helper' program that used to be hosted on runescape community? It was its own little wiki packed into an installer with calculators, maps, guides, and what have you.. something I just wanted to share in case any of you old fogies like myself happen to remember it. And for those who never return, or can't, godspeed. For those that do see this, I hope everyone is doing well.

I highly doubt it. Not only this forum, but almost every other forum I had been a member of a decade ago is on death's door, with the exception of a few very niche and specific ones which don't have any social media presence otherwise times are a-changin

The reason the community is so in favor of 'everyone who is banned for botting botted' is because of the ever popular 'jmod smackdowns' where someone pleads they didn't bot, but a mod later comes in and shows they botted or they RWTd and the poster never responds again. They are very memorable and funny, that is why they remain in the common memory longer than the rare false positives. On the other hand, there are a good number of people who post and instead of a jmod smackdown they get an 'oops' from them and they continue playing. But they are also very vocal about being banned in the first place. Someone like them, unlike you, aren't making a big scene and using community upvotes to get a mod to look into it. So sadly, and likely with many more others who are false positives likely never post about it and unless they intentionally check, are never made aware that their ban was quashed But yes, I've known a fair number of friends who were perm banned for botting or RWT who later had their ban quashed. In fact I think someone from TIF got perm for RWT'd (I think they were a pmod even!), when they didn't, only because their name was on the friends list of a RWTer they banned. Yes, jagex goes fire ready aim . But with their huge volume of accounts they need to go through, a 0.01% of false positives would indeed be a significant amount of real players

I was a member of another forum, unrelated to RS, which tried to consolidate into just 2 or 3 main discussion forms. I guess it kind of helped, but it still is on its way out

I agree. Reddit absolutely replaced traditional forums, but not only for RS, but other games I followed. It is just how things go. I just hope that tipit stays up for years to come.. Even if it is a ghost town

I wish I was into this game when the community was tiny, before RS2.. but I didn't have a computer with internet way back then. I think RS was the first online thing I ever played after we got DSL in 2005

Eh, the forum is dead just as much as how you don't use the postal service to send casual communications between friends. Yeah, it is there, and yeah, you can do it, but it is a depreciated method of communication

Silverhawks didn't ruin the game. A billion cuts and directional move to micro transactions and monetization killed the game. Though, kill isn't such an accurate word. There are still a bunch of people playing. Is it the same good game we knew? Hell no. But RS3 isn't dead by any means
