overheating
Well the symbols next to the temps mean nothing in speedfan ebcause they don't adjust to different models. If your cpu was really 105c it would not even be running. I don't think it's correct. The core sensor of the chip is usually 10c hotter than the surface cpu sensor, which would make it about 50c. Tell us what processor you have and what speed it's running at. Denismage just because it's a custom built doesn't mean it's overclocked. Especially if he didn't build it. Why would a company do this and risk the life of the components they put in? (don't say anything more, I know extreme system from alienware and stuff come pre-overclocked)

overheating
Well I would say water cooling is extreme. You maybe need to re-apply thermal paste to the cpu. A tube costs around $5. Try that first, if that doesn't work, then look into another case fan.

overheating
Well what is the temps under full load? Is it overheating and shutting down or are you just worried about the temps? The fan speed seems a little high but it may be normal for your computer. The fan speeds depends on (obviously) how fast it spins and how big the fan is. Bigger fans spin slower and smaller fans spin faster.

Building A New Computer
To get even 4GBs to fully work you will need a 64bit operating system. Which would be XP x64 or Vista x64 and Windows XP x64 isn't too good. I believe 32bit operating systems (standard Windows XP) can only support 3.5GBs of ram max, and sometimes it can't even support that much. This is a hardware limitation and not a software limitation FYI.

Building A New Computer
Installing a raid array isn't really that hard. You would do it before the OS installation. You may need a floppy drive to set it up, all motherboards are different. It also depends if your going to use a software raid or hardware raid. Hardware is recommended if your motherboard supports it (all new ones do). Although raid arrays don't offer too much performance gain. You would probably be better off with a Western digital 750GB drive. SLI is really simple to set up. You need a SLI capable motherboard (obvious). All you need to do is plug them in then use the SLI bridge to connect the 2 cards together. I also don't recommend SLI-ing 2 midrange cards, it would be cheaper and better to just get one high range card, such as the 8800gts. I don't think there is one anti-virus that could use that much resources  . I have used all 3 you have used and Nortan is a resource hog, the others are good. Most people, including me, would suggest AVG. Another good anti-virus would be NOD32. Even if you put 3 hard drives in there, nothing should have overheating problems. As long as you have at least 1 120mm fan for intake and 1 120mm fan for outtake. Maybe a fan on the side of the case or the top, but you will not need anything excessive.

Internet Not Responding
That still doesn't fix the internet explorer problem. What you suggested I like to call "the band aid effect" Firefox is good and I suggest using it but if he wants to use internet explorer, and if it doesn't work then he still shouldn't have to switch.

Graphics Card Help
The x1950 series does run a little hot compared to other graphics cards but it's normal. The x1950s are built to withstand more heat than others too. I own the 1950XT (which the pro version is based off of).

speaker problem
eeeew #-o What the **** is with these bashing Vista for no reason? You gave no reasons as to why you don't like it, and had nothing else to say at all. I guess it's the "cool" thing to do now is to bash Vista.

codec errors
Well because it kinda would be helpful to see exactly what the video was. If people have asked you this question before, and now I did, don't you think you should find the link? Anyway if it's a codec error, try re-installing them all. Google K-lite media codec pack. Download the normal/full version.

PSP Problem
Well is this going to the network settings and scanning through there? Or using an application? Try turning the psp completely off. Hold the on/off switch until the thing shuts off and then remove the battery and wait like 5 minutes and try again. The newest psp firmware is 3.71, make sure that is the version your running.

What was the torrent? Post a link to the page.

Does your school have this?
Me too, it's called Installing Vista. Here we go with the bashing of Vista bandwagon again  .

Windows update problem *solved*
Are you using Microsoft update or Windows update? What version of Internet Explorer are you using? What are the security settings on it? Try adding update.microsoft.com to your trusted sites.

Windows Vista: Home premium. Is it crap, or is it my comp?
Well it sounds like a hardware problem to me. It's refurbished so that may be a clue right there. If it was a new computer that had Vista pre-installed you would have no trouble at all because manufacturers make sure all their components work with Vista. Everything new thats comes out has Vista drivers anyway. I'm not sure if they go through these checks with refurbs. If your techie pretty much gave up with trying to fix the problem and is trying to put Vista as an excuse as to why he can't fix it then he's no good. I have seen it happen many times before (note: I work as computer repair), I'm going to laugh when it still happens in XP. Vista uses up more resources and uses up all the ram at all times, which XP doesn't so you may have a stick of bad ram. Do you have all the Windows updates installed? Makes sure it's set to Microsoft update too.

How fast is your internet? (cool little app inside)
I feel bad for you. I'm complaining about my 20,000kb/s, I guess I should consider myself lucky, but not compared to Japan.

Problem with new ram
What is the exact beep? Continuous short beeps would be a ram problem (just trying to confirm that it is indeed a ram problem). Are you tried re-installing them? Make sure they are in correctly and pushed down all the way with the tabs on the sides all the way up.

3rd Gen iPod Nano Shows Blank White Screen
Well get the cable and restore it. There not much you can do to fix it directly from the ipod. If you bring it to the apple store the first question they are going to ask you is if you have tried a restore, and you haven't, so they will not even look at it.

Planning my new rig...
Oops :wall: . I'm use to just seeing the X2 on the AMD processors and not them actually saying "dual core" Anyway, Joe these prices are in Australian dollars and not American, you can not compare the two.
-
Planning my new rig...
Your going with a single core? There is no reason to go with one now a days. All current games support dual core and new games coming out fully support them and most are going to support quad. Awesome case choice. I have the same exact one :) . If you have any questions about it, just ask. One tip, use the cable management that the case is designed for, it makes the airflow a lot better. You want to buy an extra 120mm fan for intake because it does not come with one. If your dead set on going the AMD route, I would check into the new chips they are releasing (the phenom I believe). They are going to be available in all varieties, single, dual, and quad core.

Cpu speed.
Well it could be that you are starting the test before the computer is fully loaded up. It may look and feel loaded to you but XP will load some stuff in the background for a while afterwards.

It just died....
If the motherboard did not support that much ram, it would not boot at all. If it didn't support it, the motherboard just wouldn't just "kill" a ram stick to get under the limit. So your telling him to remove all the memory has (2GB) and go to a 1GB stick so he has half the memory and running in single channel? Typically when a motherboard has 4 memory slots, it supports at least 2GB of ram, most of the time it's 4GB+.

It just died....
Well, good job finding your own problem. Thats the correct to finding bad memory too (unless you use memtest). Anyway I could suggest what speed to get and brands but I have no idea what type your computer has (DDR or DDR2). Find out what type and the speed of the memory sticks. Most likely you should just get another 512mb stick so you can get the 2GBs of ram your use to and keep running in dual channel.

Thanks for editing out all your posts so that nobody can search and find what your solution was if they have the same problem.

Project Falcon - The new generation of Xbox 360's
Oh the heatpipe thing I was talking about is a type of heatsink  . When/if they integrate the power supply it will be when they can shrink the 360 motherboard enough that it will not make the size any bigger. It would be stupid for them to come out with a bigger 360. You have to remember if the dye shrink will cut costs by 50% for the manufacturer, Microsoft may not see all 50% savings. I think IBM makes the cpu. ATI I know for sure makes the graphics. Microsoft needs to make money eventually too on these consoles. They don't have to drop the price everytime they cut manufacturing costs. If that were true, the PS2 would be a lot cheaper. I hope they drop the price, but if the PS3 stays the price it is now, they have no reason to.
