Why are there some many Nvidia fanboys are here today? Jeez ATI cards are just as good. I believe ATI are more bang for your buck. Look at the 1800XT($240) vs. 7900GT ($280-300). The 1800XT wins in most benchmarks. ATI cards (that can support it) can also run HDR and AA at the same time! Nvidia cards can not. I am not an ATI fanboy I like both brands, but consider ATI while making graphics card selections just because you have a certan brand of card doesn't make it the best.

Don't buy a computer. Do this as your last resort. If you do need more memory you can upgrade it. If that's physical memory your talking about then you have plenty. That might be the page file your talking about. To check how much memory you have do this: ctrl+atl+del>preformance tab> look at physical memory and tell us the total and the available. How can you say the 7600GT is a bad card? It would cruch the 6600GT's. The 7600GT also has pixel shader 3 which would support the newer games. If you want to pay a little more than the 7600GT price get a 1800GTO, 7900GT, 1800XT, or even 1900XT(expensive). For a sound card, anything by creative i suggest.

It's suppose to be a core 2 duo killer. It's going to be on 65nm process which means they can make more processors per waffer which means it will be cheaper than AMD's current line. Also that means they can raise the mhz. I am not sure about this one but it might be a quad core. Don't quote me on that.

That was just a rumor. I guess their working on reverse hyperthreading but it wont be out anytime soon. Don't worry AMD fanboys, AMD is going to releasing an awsome chip in 6 months called K8L.

Core 2 duo does look amazing. I would like to buy one but I would need to swich to a whole new platform which is to much money for me right now. I have heard that all the benchmarks to date were under Intel supervision which means they could have stacked the becnhmarks. I hope that isn't true. We will know for sure when they launch retail chips. I have one question this new core 2 chip has 4mb of shared cache for both cores, is that better or worse than dedicated cache? edit: Look at this photo :shock: . It's the core 2 processor doing super pi 1m in under 10secs. If people don't know what this program is, it's calculating 1m digets on pi and is used as a CPU benchmark program. I usaly spend $100 on fireworks every year, it's my favorite day in the summer. I go with my uncle and my cousins to New Hamshire to buy them because in my state (Massachusetts) they're illeagil. Last year the cops came and took all of our fireworks, and then my little cousin who is seven pipes up and said atleast he didn't find the big one right in front of the police. This firework was the biggest in the store and my uncle paid like $80 for this one firework :shock: and we never got to lite it :( .

Good luck trying to put a new Intel processor into his board too. He is likley using a socket that you can't buy a new processor for (unless you buy used). So either way he will have to upgrade the motherboard.

Are both programs you used updated? If not, do it now. Also try Spybot Search and Destroy that may pick up stuff that Ad-aware missed.

I am still happy with my xion, I have had it for 6 months now. Although my case has better cooling than this model. Mine has x1 80mm fan and x2 120mm fans. The power supply is kinda crappy but he bought one anywase.

I have an Xion case, they are very good quality cases. I don't have that same exact case so i can't say anything about it from exsperience.

I think you'll find that the fastest card available is made by NVidia. GeForce 7950 GX2. I didn't say that ATI had the fastest avalible card. I said ATI is just as fast if not faster. Example would be the x1800XT(256mb) for $240 to the 7900($280), the x1800 wins alot of benchmarks over the nvidia card at a lower price. The 7950GX2 is 2 7900GTs on 1 board so it's realy 2 cards. If you compare just single cards you will get a different story.

The 200watt may work, it depends if you have a powerful graphics card that eats up alot of power or any other power hungry components. I suggest you try it but only plug in the absolute minimum. If that is a good quality PSU (never heard of the brand) it will have protection for other components, like Anesthesia said. Some cheap PSUs dont have this.

ATI cards are just as fast, if not faster.

The last one looks the best, mostly because of price. All x850XTs are the same so go with the cheapist one you can find. Also check out the 7600GT they are almost the same preformance and the 7600GT has newer fetures. Such as HDR, and Sader model 3. I have a x850 pro(flashed to XT) and the card is realy fast, either one you choose will be a great card. EDIT: Defently go with the last one, it's retail so you get the box and it comes with games. The OEM (top link) doesn't not come with the box or a manuel which you might need.
