  1. What do you mean? 6 blocks? Aasiwat is referring to the slayer lists. Aquanites are supposed to never be unlocked from Kura, so you don't get them assigned + 5 blocks = 6 tasks blocked.
  2. I think these two things should be a minimum of what gets added. Maybe even two types of bosses - one that can be attacked anytime, but with a high slayer req (90+), another (like a boss strykewyrm) which can only be attacked on task. The inherent problem with simply adding new slayer monster X is that over time just about all slayer monster drops get devalued to worthlessness, especially in the new PVP environment where items are simply recycled rather than lost. I don't trust Jagex to get the drop balance correct whereby A) Drops are rare enough to hold relative value; and B) Drops are common enough to be worth slaying for. So I would like to see an in-demand consumable drop - it doesn't even have to be combat related. That would hold relative value over time.
  3. Taken off the RSOF FAQ. This quest series, like every other in Runescape, is going to take forever ;_; The elf/plague city quest series is going on 9 years!
  4. I think smithing update will end up being a giant disappointment. Doesn't appear to add any new items/abilities, and could be just an equivalent to sawmill for training. (IE, speed but no real rewards) Quests are always great. RoW - it'd have to be a sizable boost for most people to give up their current rings. Increased effigies pl0x? This change has the best chance to be a great update for this month, but could also be the biggest disappointment.
  5. As soon as the weekend starts: Cash in my stack of ~20 or so combined long and curved bones with the Dorgesh Kaan goblin guy, which will net me 71->72 Construction. Teleport to Ourania, and spend the 10 hours runecrafting at ZMI. Estimated levels: 66->73 Runecrafting. Then, head to Castle Wars bank to commence turning 18k+ charms into pouches. Currently the levels gained will be 79->93 Summoning, however I will continue to slay up until the weekend starts, so I may squeeze out one or two more levels. Ideally three. After that, I don't know. I've kicked around a couple of ideas (getting to 75 or even 77 RC, Agility, Fishing, Herblore if I can buy supplies cheap enough a day or two before to make it worthwhile, Mining, etc.) but nothing is set in stone yet. One thing I will NOT be doing is slaying; I've been doing it close to nonstop since the last weekend saving up charms and I will be taking a break from slaying for the time being. So at least 22 levels, and likely even more than that. 2100 total is quite close indeed.
  6. Ooh, good call on the random - I will have to be sure to do that as well. Although the effect on me will be slightly muted, since I plan on dumping my stack of long and curved bones with Oldak (or whoever it is) at 2.7x then immediately teleporting to Ourania.
  7. Yes I am, otherwise I would have the charms to 99. I also stated that during the 10 hours I would be ZMI'ing, implying that afterwards I would be summoning.
  8. Bonus weekend coming during spring break:  79 to at least 93 Summoning with this one, and likely even higher with continued slaying in the two weeks leading up to it. Over 15k charms (and their supplies, I bought stuff early!) ready to go. The pipe dream would be to get 96 summoning, but that may be asking too much. As for the 10 hours, ZMI ZMI ZMI. Avoid the cluster[bleep] that is the herblore/other buyables market and train A) a skill I hate and B) a skill that will moderately profit (or at least break even). 66-75 is the goal, but that may take more than 10 hours. As for the rest, dunno. Slay?
  9. jagex does live tests masked as events a lot. >_< Temple Trekking rework anyone? It's in the planning stages now, so it might not be too farfetched to think that controlling the NPC's in the new Temple Trekking is on the table.
  10. You gain XP with wines when they mature. How the brawlers method works is you make a bunch of wines (several hundred at least, ideally) continuously. Wines won't mature in your bank if you quickly continue making them, so you can stack several hundred "raw" wines in your bank. Once you're ready to gain xp, you equip your brawlers, teleport into the wildy, wait a few seconds, then the whole stack of wines in your bank matures at once, giving a massive chunk of XP. It works well with brawlers because the whole stack only counts as one use of the brawlers, meaning that theoretically one or two brawlers should be enough to get 200m xp.
  11. Ahh Jagex and their use of old memes. The gnome I'm leading around in the quest just said, "I call shenanigans!"
  12. Well, I was entertained. Entertained by, in no particular order: * The release of a vocal group into the wild without AutoTune. (or intermittent AutoTune, as it was) * Wondering if any of the choreographed light-up arrow dancers would see their homes and family disappear by the hand of their Chinese overlords (think Olympic opening ceremony '08) if they messed up. * Wondering when the light-cycle races were going to start, * Wondering if Fergie was ever going to sing in tune, * Deciding that she wasn't, and wishing Slash would simply unplug his guitar and beat her over the head with it, * Noticing that Usher should pull his pants up (this was before the acrobatic split he did), * Wondering when Michael Jackson and Elvis were going to show up and do a duet, * Wondering who invited all of the Minecraft headed people at the end. So, yes, entertained. Was it good entertainment? To make fun of, at least for me. But I probably wouldn't miss it if they simply went back to classic rock bands next year.
  13. I'm generally a nice person, but I probably won't be blessing graves. Someone else said it best: Online honor is worthless. I can understand reasons like internet/power outages causing people to DC and die, but overall, the game needs more risk involved in high-level activities. There are lots of cheap alternatives to the 50m+ monster hunting equipment that will knock down risk a lot, as well as things like the ring of life (understanding that bosses can and will KO you above 10%, of course...but it could help). It's been EasyScape for too long now, and I'm looking forward to the era of risk returning. I won't be one of those people planning on camping outside GWD boss rooms or luring TD's/DK's on people, though. Full disclosure: I don't bosshunt. But my views would be the same if I did.
  14. Perfectly feasible, if you don't mind getting 0 xp, since Hati gives none.
  15. For the second time (that I am aware of), my hero is #1 for gold. A priceless gift was worth 9.6k. This time, he is not in Beerburgh so the chances of using it well may be high. Glad to see people are finally becoming cardinals in the ELITES, as my hero should be there in the next day or so. Anything new for cardinals?
  16. Yea it could be that easy, but i think the part thats going to take them the longest to do is figuring out how the GE will work now. Maybe it will just have the average selling price or something, so it still shows what the price of the item is but with no price constraints. They're also going to have to improve their bot detection system or w/e. Cus with this update gold farmers in china are going to [bleep] their pants for days. They've pretty much revealed how the GE would work with FT, and it's basically how you describe - removal of price ceilings and floors, and an average price derived from all trades made between updates. Just like how it works today, except prices will be almost infinitely more fluid. The second part about bot detection goes back to my point of if they didn't think they could do this, they wouldn't try. Obviously Jagex thinks they can shut down/counter gold farmers with whatever newfangled technology they have. After all, gold farmers (and stolen credit cards) almost forced a shutdown of RS back in '07 or so, which was the main reason for restricting the possibilities of RWT in the first place.
  17. I'm thinking free trade and old wildy (FT/OW) is coming back much sooner rather than later. Monday? No, too soon. But starting a week or so from Monday, I see it as a strong possibility to come back at any time: * Jagex have stated that the actual recoding of the game would take little time at all (and if they were smart and planned ahead, much of it would be in QA right now). This isn't creating new content, this is just placing it elsewhere. Granted, there are a lot of extraneous bits (such as game lore) to consider, but Jagex have shown a disregard for seriously considering lore in updates/changes in the past, and I don't see that changing. * Jagex would not even hint about the possibility of FT/OW happening (much less run a petition followed by a referendum) if they actually couldn't deliver. It'd be like a poll asking if the playerbase all wanted horses. Anyone could see the vote would be overwhelmingly yes, and if Jagex couldn't technically deliver, there would be incredible backlash, which leads to... * The support is incredibly overwhelming. This is not a close vote. If Jagex were to say no to FT/OW after 90%+ of the (voting) community desired it, it would create a tsunami of backlash. Not only would Jagex lose all of the potential '07 quitters who would have returned, but potentially a sizable portion of the current playerbase, plus any and all credibility of those that continued to play. It would torpedo RS's image and Jagex's finances. So at this point, we know it's coming back. But why so soon? * Jagex wants to capitalize now, while the buzz is still hot. Players are going to forget by the time March or so comes around and play something else. * Simple finances. Most people predict a swell of new/old subscribers whenever FT/OW comes back. If that can be technically achieved in late January as opposed to March (see point #1), then why wouldn't Jagex want their monies sooner? Will they do such a great job of implementation? Probably not superb - QA has the inherent flaw in that it's not 10,000,000 active players, and Jagex sometimes fails to apply simple logic when conducting wholescale changes to their game. But at this point there's no going back now, so I think FT/OW will come fairly soon.
  18. Level 5 in 8 days? My Bipolar Bear is level 5 in 6 days. Meanwhile, my hero's newly minted (sorta) rocky raccoon is level 6...and on day 17. Just when you thought getting a pet alive to level 30 was impossible, my hero decides to tame the slowest leveling pet of all, making it even more impossible.
  19. Forgot to add - since every maxed player will be crowding Nex for the first few weeks, some of the other bosses are bound to clear out somewhat. So I may try my hand at serious bosshunting for the first time.
  20. I will be refreshing the forums waiting for news on the boss itself and what it drops, then salivating over the initial pieces of armor that, if any good, may have 1b+ street.
  21. Anyone buying up bones for double xp weekends is wasting a large amount of money, since gilded altars and the ectofungus don't give bonus xp. Turmoil (and ancient curses in general) boosted bone demand, since for the first time it was worthwhile to train prayer past 70.
  22. The day I started playing. I had heard of the game from a friend from a week or so prior to this, but didn't think the game was interesting. Then Asgarnia came out, and I took the plunge. Good read, but I agree with those that thought this wasn't really a large recap - lots of RSC lore could easily have been added (Dragon Quest, new magic/prayer system, fatigue, a compendium of bugs perhaps, etc.)
  23. Sorry, but I'm of the opinion that the only true RS Golden Age was the pure RSC era (2001-March 2004). Hey! Get off my lawn! I don't PK, and won't under the new system. I try to avoid the wild anyways (even with revs being as easy as they are to avoid), and will continue to do so as much as possible. Free trade will be nice. I don't engage in high-limit trading, but an open GE freed of limits and (hopefully) manipulation clan intervention will be nice.
  24. Here we go: * 2200 skill total (currently 2,004). * 138 Combat plus 99 Slayer (currently 129+ CB and 89 Slayer). This won't be as hard as it seems - I already have the charms for 88+ summoning (via bonus weekend) and slaying to 99 should get me most, if not all, of the charms needed for 138 CB/99 Summon. 99 Slay would get me 99 melees, so all that would be left is buying enough prayer for 138. * 500m+ bank value (currently about 150m - this is optimistic considering my playstyle, but hey, I have a year). I don't like being overly specific on goals (such as individual skills) since my whims tend to jump around (for a time I LOVED fishing - in 2003), but at least they're more specific than last year's goals.
  25. Most items that are floored won't fall much, if any, since the floor is also their high alch value (so by falling, they'll be snapped up by alchers for profit). Things like addy arrowtips will be interesting, to see how much they go up.
