  1. I'm pretty sure that farming level dosen't effect how much you harvest. I've gotten as any as 10 ranaars from a harvest, the lowest being 5, and the highest being 11. And yeah, this belongs in help/advice. Please remember that next time.
  2. Farming is a very buyable skill. You just have to have enough money for magic seeds and the like, and it would be just a matter of time. Time spent doing somthing else while they wait for their xp trees to grow. Construction can be done in a very short time if you pour enough money into it, as can runecrafting, prayer, smithing, herblore, crafting... ect. The only two truly difficult and unbuyable skills are theiving and agility, the latter being far more time consuming and boring.
  3. Jad is 6x6, if I remember correctly. He's alot taller than the others too. It's harder trying to fit him entirely on the RS screen than it is to actually kill him. Yup, Jad FTW. But you can fit him on the screen if you melee him like shown in the official guide: And yes, people have meleed jad before. Like 3+ vids of it on youtube. i don't reccomend it to fightcave beginners, because switching between mage/range and quickly to melee is much harder than standard ranging and switching. Please post pics of you fighting the KQ and other bosses so the approximate sizes can be compared. EDIT: Why was this moved to help/advice? I don't see how it fits in here. The author wasn't asking somthing that merited an answer to personally benefit him.
  4. It still has an interruptable prompt screen, which makes it useless if someone is ranging or maging you, because you can't do it while you run. Although the glory's prompt seems to come up faster. This update has been needed for a long time and I'm glad they finally implimented it. One thing I noticed though... I tried to 'operate' my silver sickle from the equipment screen - and you can't cast bloom from there. I don't think the 'operate' thing should be limited to teleportation.
  5. I've seen Jad, and he is frikin HUGE. So I'll go with him. And Jad: CURSE YOU. :x
  6. Mabye we should start talking about which one we want when they are actually here...? (and we know what they look like, and what their stats are...) The only one I see myself ever getting is the quest one. If, that is, I ever bother to train my smithing to 65. I loathe smithing.
  7. Which one? Wild for me. Um, there is only one agility arena. You know... the one where you trip over yourself to get to pedistals and nab tickets? Other training grounds are called agility courses. Haven't tried ape atoll yet. The wilderness one seems good enough, though
  8. Knowing Jagex, they will probally be P2P only to force the 99'ers in F2P to get members. And then there's the mention of it being in POHs.
  9. When I saw this, I all of the sudden decided to start playing RuneScape more regularly. Now there is actually somthing to look forward to. And btw guys... 99 range cape ftw? First cape in the game probally to give a range bonus. And I'm definatly looking forward to seeing what the stats for the strength cape is - if it is any better than fire cape (and i imagine it is) it will yet again increase the damage output for 99 str. And then there is the defense cape - probally will be better than firecape in defense, but of course no str or prayer, or attack. And attack will most likely have around 3-5 in all skills (except magic and range, most likely), which is also better than firecape in that regard. Then the mage cape... no doubt will be better than god cape, except it won't give more damage for arena spells (or mabye it will?). Anyway, I'm really glad Jagex finally decided to listen to their players. It makes me feel better about them. And then they are also introducing somthing else that players have been dying for... wardrobes to stick your outfits to save bankspace. Now all of you people complaining about needing more bankspace will probally be satisfied with the extra room cleared up.
  10. Lousy argument, considering there is no magical element of skin  However, we do have blood runes - and yes, the mind helm and shield element are related to the magic mind element, because the symbols are exactly alike. Not saying it is a definate, though, but a possibility you have to consider.
  11. Yeah, definatly foreshadowing. And then there are rocks blocking the way down the rest of the cooridor. And yes, blood is definatly a possibility along with soul, because mind runes are low level attack spell runes, and blood runes are high level attack spell runes. And both things reside in your body. And then, obviously soul is the higher entitiy to body. And, about the update's rewards... I think they rule. More mage defense against noob abyss pkers ftw.
  12. I don't know if I am going to be there, membership expired and I'm considering not renewing it. Then again... I probally should because I put 3m into the Miscalania treasury #-o Just remember, kids, don't have a flame fest afterwards because you didn't get anything. He is quitting and is generously giving away all of his possesions, so be greatful even if you don't get some of it :shame:
  13. How could you report 70 people in an hour when you're limited to 1 report a minute? :-s Yeah, they did it for the noobs. I can't imagine why, though, because most people with some intelligence can figure things out on their own, by like, looking it up on the internet. I mean, they must know that there is bound to be a guide somewhere to help them. I doubt the true noobs would even figure out where the bank is. While on my pure I had a noob approach me in the lumbridge chicken pen asking me to show him where lumbridge was. Then it took me like 2 minutes to explain to him that there was a free teleport to lumbridge in his spellbook. I'm sorry, but some people are just not intelligent enough to play online games. I know it sounds harsh, but that's the sad truth. They need to obey the 13+ age requirement. (not saying all 12- year olds are stupid, but a lot are...)
  14. Can't say I'm surprised. Trying to out-do Zezima when you haven't been playing nearly as long as him just isn't healthy. Playing since 2004 means he got all of that xp in TWO years. Which is a very short time considering how much xp that is. He should have made his all 99 character and then enjoyed it, instead of grinding useless xp on easy skills.
  15. Don't forget better emoteicons. < :) :P :( :| :D : :x :? The ones on the left look very patronizing... they look like 5 year olds playing dress-up. I think the official forums could have done without them. It seems like the level of spam has gone up since Jagex put them in. [Or perhaps that was just because of the userbase of miniclippers rose since then... but meh, whatever.]
  16. I have an account with 1 att 1 str and 32 def atm. Trying to get it to 40 def so it can wear rune... imagine, a level 16 wearing rune! Amazing. Everyone calls me a def noob because I'm wearing addy at level 9 though
  17. Well golly gee, I didn't mean to start a huge flippin argument. Let me get this straight: Both climbing boots and rune boots now have the same str bonus. Since Rune boots have a much bigger def bonus, they now make climbing boots obsolete for those that can afford the rune ones. Any advantage is worth having IMO, weather defense is all that great or not. And yes, there are times when I go for def over str - barrows, for instance. Strength is almost useless to me there, since I am either using slayer dart, or ranging - as in the case of ahrim. The only time I am ever meleeing is in the tunnels against the weakling enemies so I get more runes for the chest, so as not to waste runes. Long story short - I always have used rune boots there. That along with torag, obby shield, and dark gloves provides a major defense bonus, which helps tremedously when fighting brothers that I don't pray on. And remember - melee armor does little to hinder slayer dart at least when used against brothers, so that's not an issue.
  18. ROFL. Mages with ancients would own a warrior anyday, so stop complaining. And if you're a ranger... well warriors are supposed to own rangers anyway  I love this, although the price has tripled  Good thing I already have a pair. These will replace climbing boots in situations where I need strength over defense, definatly. You know that Rune Boots give better defense than climbing boots right? That's the POINT. They both give the same str bonus, so the extra defense is a good bonus.
  19. RFD bank is still better for banking after death IMO. But yeah, spinning flax on my noob will be really fast. And I look forward to the drop in price of bow strings, it will make fletching/alching yew longs more profitable. Which is really nice.
  20. ROFL. Mages with ancients would own a warrior anyday, so stop complaining. 21. It took around 1200 tickets from bronze-rune +2 extra runes. I like to have extras of everything  For bronze it took me like half of those tickets to get.
  22. Yep, RuneScape official forums over the years has become more and more like the Neopets.com official forums. If you don't know what I mean, go there, and see for youself  (Yeah.. I played that game like 6 years ago..) I like games like CoH where the official forums are actually invision or somthing similar... it seems like whenever a company attempts their own forum system, the maturity level of that forum is like 50 IQ. Interesting correlation, there.
  23. Umm... money inflow does not = lower prices. The more money in the economy the higher the price someone is willing to pay, which means higher prices. The reason whips and barrows stuff is dropping is the huge moneysink of the Construction skill. I contributed in taking about 6m cash out of the game by training that skill to 72. Ever since Construction, prices have dropped like a rock. Whips fown from 3.5 to 1.9, D Sqs to like 1.5, chains to 16 (keep in mind that before chains were always steady at around 24-25m), and barrows items have also seen a fairly sizeable drop in price. Yes, these items were already dropping in price because more were coming into the game, but the deflation recently has been as much or more of a contributing factor to that than supply inflow.
  24. Wow, pretty nice luck. Yesterday I went to barrows and on my second trip I got an Ahrims hood. Three trips later... nothing, but still, that was my 4th drop out of 40-ish trips total.
