  1. Why you would want to camp is beyond me. Banking is good especially since the value of alot of common drops (herbs, seeds, bones, and gems) is high. Personally, SGS is no more valuable than ZGS or BGS to me. Food, excalibur, and, soul split is all I use. I wouldn't waste my money on expensive summoning junk or hoarded items like SGS. If i did want to camp I would just dust off my guthans.
  2. I don't get how you expect to get 200 charms an hr without throwing red chins at herds of them there. I think on slayer task with full helmet and arma with unholy book and archer(i) it might be possible. I'd lose the combat summon sinceh they suck and get a bunyip/unicorn to help heal since you got hardly any food and soul split tends to fail sometimes when you get on a low rolling streak. I'll have to try that out next time i get a slayer task for them, but meleeing them is silly and best done under the waterfall.
  3. Heres a summary of 2005: Jan 10: In search of the Myreque Jan 17: Karamja dungeon Jan 26: Slayer skill Feb 7: Roving elves (cbow) Feb 15: Ghosts ahoy (ectophial and ectofuntus) March 29: Monkey madness (d-scim...so huge in RS history) April 18: Desert Treasure (ANCIENTS) May 9: Barrows... May 31: Keldagrim July 11: Farming Aug 1: Waterbirth Island Aug 23: Blast Furnace Sep 12: Cook-X, paving the way for "Do-x" in all skills Sep 19: Tzharr area Oct 4: Fight caves Oct 17: Mournings End part 2 Nov 07: DKs Dec 05: Nardah released, Spirits of the Elid Dec 12: Champions Challenge + wyverns This was 5 years ago, and many of the changes that happened in '05 are still at the "top end" or "most used" features in the game today (fire cape? still top dawg. barrows armor? still most useful armor. tzharr area? alive and well. DKs? Still hugely profitable and the rings they drop are the best rings). We got monthly, game-changing updates. 5 years later these updates are still on top of the game. Oh, and I have left out the fact that nearly every week had an update, and there were tons of random improvements in bank space and things of that nature that were really important additions to the game. But those arent really content related. EDIT: Oh, and I just looked. The easter, halloween, and christmas updates all came on the same day as additional game content such as a real, non-holiday quest. All the come-latelly Jagex appologists need to stare at that. That was the quality Jagex used to be capable of. Now they make way more money and have a much bigger staff and heres what the highlights of 2009 are. Dec 8: Kuradel Dungeon Dec 3: Temple at Sennistran (new prayers) Oct 7: Herblore update Sep 17: Rock Cavern Sept 9: Forgiveness of a chaos dwarf (Dragon Pick) Aug 18: MA final form (only mentionable because of rewards) June 9: Run energy update Feb 10: Soul Wars  First half of 09 was a no show by Jagex.
  4. It's always amusing how the people who whine the most about wanting new content are incapable of understanding and using the content they already have. Those are three of the best skills in the game. Summoning is by far the most versatile, Hunter and Farming are superb money skills. Learn how to use the gear shifter and the steering wheel before you bug the car company for more bells and whistles. And if all you want is a new dungeon with "uber st00f" drops released every month, you're playing the wrong game. Summoning is the worst skill in runescape. I pull out my yak to carry crap, whoppeedeedoo. Could have had pouches like WOW. Speaking of WOW the summons in that game can fight and our tactical part of combat for those classes. My iron titan can't hit the side of a barn let alone draw the attention of monsters to tank them for more than 1 round at most. I hit monster with whip. I hit monster again with whip. Iron flatulence takes its turns and blows gas for a miss. I hit monster with whip again. I hit monster a 4th time and its usually dead. Iron flatulence huffs and puffs while the monster lays dying and contributes an amazing 0 to the fight. Joke please... oh and dont tell me the steel one is any better lol, I know 99 is nothing but a cape like slayer. Farming makes no money and seeds cost a fortune. Only people rewarded by it are those who get seeds on monster drops, but then you have to wonder "hey that aint farming... or is it?". Oh but wait the good news is everything is on a timer and you can complete your farming in a half hour each day. Of course, thats the most the game will let you play farming but you know hey, its a diversion and distraction type skill... Hunter is disappointing because you can do chompy/jumbly hunting and have a better time hunting than actually doing the hunter skill lol. But hey some are entertained by watching a pixel turn on and off so whatever get 200mil in the skill... Also, hunter doesn't make more money than runecrafting unless you break all the clocks in your house and never turn runescape off. Or more likely that you don't know how to runecraft or your in that level 1-40 range that Jagex prefers.
  5. Hunting to me marked the start of decline of RS. Sure there have been a few bright spots but its all fluff compared to the old days. This year was looking promising but really took a dive after that effin hp screw over. Now the game is back focused on players level 1-40 again. New skill, meh. Take back hunting, farming ,and summoning first and make them into something nice. I swear I get more use out of firemaking than them lol.
  6. Silly me, here I thought this thread was about fish flingers and not about appologizing for Jagex's goal of making hundreds of updates for those in the lvl 3-20 range where most people spend less than 2 hours of game time. Guess I ought to go over to RSOF and ask them if they think the combinations are randomized at the start of a game...
  7. Its hot in a sort of macabre way.

    Goth Laila ;)

  8. Yes it does actually ! - as long as you're lower in the skill you'll not fish as fast as those who are higher than you. Fishing spots are similar to the concentrated ore veins in the Living Rock Caverns; the number of people working them is inconsequential, since the resources run dry/reset on randomised time intervals. It's different from chopping trees for Woodcutting and the like. Actually, the more people at a fishing spot the more likely the spot is to move. Since the game makes a dice roll everytime somebody clicks to fish on a spot. Therefore, its slower to fish with lots of people around because the spots move around alot more.
  9. Instanced minigames... okay. Instanced dungeons/treks... okay. Instanced boss hunting... stupid. Let's not turn this into WoW. Bad enough they already F'ed with the hp... You seem to be playing the wrong game if you want "Elite" creatures that smear you and 100 other noobs at the other time. Thats just dumb and not even fun, thus I play this game more than WOW or practically all the other MMOs...
  10. Summoning. Hours of training and millions of gp thrown down the toilet. Ruined my combat level over something that is useless in combat. Only thing I bother with isthe yak to pick up bones and hides and I would gladly give that up for 126 again. Why they couldn't just make pouches like WOW is beyond me...
  11. Can't understand the point to it. I mean you don't play it, it just happens. So like get some free xp and kudos for low levels who can be bothered to save space in inventory and walk to museum? Seems like a non-combat version of champions challenge that is all hunting and no fun/reward.
  12. I agree. The point wasn't the whole 'beginners don't like being hit for 1' thing, that's a side effect, it was to break the bond between your Hitpoints and your Hitpoints skill level, allowing boosters to your max hp instead of your actual hp. I think we'll find that this update will get a lot more support once we start to see these Constitution boosters. Actually the HP update was two separate updates in itself. Neither update needed the other to be implemented. Update 1) Constitution and "HP" are split into two separate things. This can be done just as effectively without making everything 10x, so hitting in the hundreds and separating the skills are not linked at all. Instead of giving 10 hp per 1 constitution level it would have been just 1 HP per constitution level. This was by far the best update they have done in a long time, as it opens doors to ALOT of new content. Imagine a boss-monster that lowers your constitution to 30, so you cant eat above 300 hp. Or weapons that lower your opponents constitution. I can see pures going ga-ga all over this update because they are weapons that essentially prevent you to "safe" (not that I care about safing, I'm just saying). Update 2) Everything is multiplied by 10x. This update was done for the newbies, but as a byproduct the update also makes everything more accurate for everyone. Everyone hits more, and everyone gets hit more due to the decimal system. There are also some great byrpducts of this update too, for example ferocious rings. If you hit a .1 with ferocious ring before this update, you hit a 0. Now if you hit a .1 (1 damage) after this update you deal 4.1 (41 damgage) with the .1 hit. So with things like this you are dealing far more damage than previous to this update. As some stated before +1, +2 and +3 str also have a use now as you don't need +4 just to hit more damage points anymore. I have already started to adjust to the HP splats, so I can say I'm neutral on the subject of update 2. Its really not all that bad once you adapt to what is a high hit and what isn't. Update 1 was really a good thing however. This was well said. I find myself neutral on #1 and #2 infuriates me. Therefore, I vote "take the garbage out!". And for all those that say#1 is so significant, I guarantee you that even in 3 years from now people will still have trouble finding items that make it significant.
  13. Still can't get Golvellius without some #s. Its the only other name I would take. :|
  14. It concerns me that half the people commenting on it don't see a damn thing except what Jagex said about the low levels. Read the last paragraph and think for more than 2 seconds. The possible applications of this change are staggering and, while it will take some getting used to, this will open up whole new elements to the game. Could have been done without adding another zero to everything. You are the one who thinks too simply.
  15. Make the noobs happy because the 0s hurt their feelings. No really, its that levels 1-20 will be seeing more updates because of independent testing conducted by behavioral physcologists to help Jagex recruit more players in the 8-14 age group. However, older players may find that they only spend several hours at this level and not appreciate the subtle brillance and complexity of updates that add 0s to the numbers flashing on the screen.
  16. Hp update = dumber than dumb Explaination why they did it is a joke. "Cause we don't want to see the noobs getting discouraged by all the 0s." Are we still playing runescape here? I am really finding it hard to see this as the same game I started in 05. Really not happy with this!!!!!!!!!!!!! So like what happens to dharok? How does that work now? Its based on consititution, life points, or pure stupidity? I'm leaning towards 3... So much for tanking anything, now that numbers that used to be rounded to zero are going to do some damage. :x
  17. Man-made global warming is a myth. Tell Al gore with his nobel peace prize to stop riding around in a private jet trashing our atmosphere. Plenty of seats in coach for his large "green" [wagon].
  18. They release like one quest a month on average.. How the hell are they ever going to fill in the gaps this century? :-X
  19. Only about 5 hours looking at that graph where you get nice xp. Guess, I'll fill up all my tree patches with magics and palms and a spirit tree. Checkem real fast when I log in then off to rune crafting.
  20. Way too much whining about this. Here is something I pulled off RSOF by 1 rich sheik. I'm seeing a lot of anger of the mere consideration of a compromise for the fire cape issue. Almost as if it is a crime to compromise content once it enters the game. Why don't we just revert ALL compromised content back into it's original form. Restore extreme potions into pvp. They were removed for the sake of pkers, so lets bring them back. Remove +1 pking worlds. These were added the day after pking worlds got a revamp, simply because people whined about losing all of their items with no protect item prayer. It was a compromise, so remove it. Remove chance of double deaths, laws, and bloods. This change was made because of people complaining about chance of double nature runes. So get rid of it. Remove the 200k alternative for puzzle box in Monkey Madness. This old compromise was for people that hate puzzles, so lets get rid of the 200k alternative and force everyone that used it to redo that part of Monkey Madness. Remove Ancient Statues. These were implemented because people complained about slayer drops crashing in price, so jagex reached a compromise by giving pkers pure cash. So lets get rid of them and restore the original pvp drops. Restore the Seer's headband to it's original bonuses. The original bonuses were useless, so Jagex compromised and improved them. Since this is compromised content, restore the useless original bonuses. Remove Jungle Strykewyrms from Kuradel's slayer tasks. These weren't on her original list, so take them off. Restore the original trade limit of 30k per 15 minutes. The trade limit was compromised for the sake of players wanting to give each other gifts, so bring back the original limit. If you think compromise is a weakness, then Jagex has been weak long before the firecape issue. You should support the removal of all compromises, regardless of who they help or hurt. Don't stop with the firecape issue, demand the restoration of ALL altered content, even if it hurts the game as a whole.
  21. NIce little update. I like the rebalancing of the xp, with a sacred clay net this ain't too bad. Whats up with the respawn rates though. Dragon and ninja implings are still rarer than rare and zombie implings are as common as nature implings. I'd prefer that dragons and ninjas are made less rare. Yet to see a kingly they must be rare.
  22. I'd say it's the merchant's right to profit off people who are impatient enough to accept they have to pay a little 'convenience fee'. I find it annoying people can fuss over flipping as if it's actually hurting the economy. Just lol at this. There is no flipping in RS. Everybody colludes together in merchant clans that starve and flood the GE of daily goods like food, pots, raw materials, you name it. I'm sick of it. Since, Jagex incoveniences us by forcing everything through the GE and subject to capital pigitry, they ought to at least tighten up the limits on trade quanitities. Its about time for so called merchants to feel some inconvenience and maybe if we are lucky they will quit. And the game would be better off since its not like they play runescape anyway.
  23. No. I'm quite indecisive about classes. I tried playing D&D online and quit after a month because I couldn't stop rerolling chars.
