  1. Best update in such a long time. Highlights: Un-nerfed the herblore update for all but the stupid thugs which dont deserve it. Automatic ammo pickup at castle wars. Summoning made a little usefull in combat. (Yeah I know its a only a simple buff to magic which any old pot could do, but its still something when there was nothing but useless walking trashcans.) Unless your one of the 5 elitests with 91 rc crying yourself to sleep tonight and not the other 1,000,000 accounts then the rc update just helped you out tremendously. Great for DIY training. Really long overdo, runes just cost too much and are too hard to get. Really too good of an update to be Jagex, what happened? They fire all the fools over the mechscape disaster?
  2. Champions challenge update = Candy for the addicts? I doubt even 500 people have ever completed that for a bunch of silly banners that only you can see. And I'm more than certain that the vast majority of those 500 people have all 99s in their skill's panel. A better update for champions challenge would be to let you challenge the ones you already beat once a day for slayer xp, charms, etc. At least then the minigame wouldn't be such a flop.
  3. Lol I thought these rants died when they added the "items kept on death" feature. I can remember so many stupid threads about whip not keeping over dlong or other crap.
  4. I bet you the game was best described as "Mobilizing Armies in Space". Then for some reason somebody finally took a look into Runescape last week and saw how that went...
  5. Interview with another RWTer? He is nothing special. Next!
  6. You kinda get it. There was 4 months of free gifts when the GE was first implemented. All the godwars stuff especially godswords was frozen at min for like 4 months. I had a saragodsword on the GE that whole time. That was more than enough time for prices across the board to inflate. Then they repeated themselves at the end of the year with spirit shields. A simple solution would be IOUs from the bank of runescape. When the hilt is sold, you get what was paid for it. Its as simple as that. Instead, Jagex decided to get clueless and redesigned their game in such a way that monster hunting on coinshare makes insane amount of money over everything else to the point of making most things pointless in runescape. I'm glad that 26king/76king has taken off. At least now there are two ways to make money. Too bad they demoted skills to just quest reqs and a skillcape. The recent herblore updates more than prove that.
  7. You live in one right now, most likely. When was the last time you paid with cash, when you had the option to pay with your debit card? It's a similar situation, where the concept of cash is still the backbone of the economy, but the demand is for the item, not the wealth. And like you've touched on, it's because they made cash so easy to obtain. Though I do have to chuckle when so many people say, "It's 76king oh no!" Yes, it's that. But there are also many, many other methods that pump cash into our wallets with absolutely no effort. What about Fruit Falling at the duel arena? Flipping items via the grand exchange? Merching clans as a whole? And all the various other little get-rich quick schemes that, bit by bit, aren't too devastating, but when you add them all together...76k'ing is only a slice of the troubling pie that is the failing short term economy. I know this has already been said but I'd like to emphasize the point. There were 3(4) main ways of creating gp. 1. Killing a monster for a pure gp drop 2. Selling an item to a shop 3. Alching items (4. Coinshare) 1. There aren't any big pure gp drops 2. This is equal or lower then the alch value 3. The value never changes so the players balance out the ingredients prices. (4. This is arguble, but it creates pure gp as a drop, but keeps the item in the ge for a player this GE price is created by the player.) Over time all the above have been balanced out by players based on there usability and rarity. In your example papaya and other fruits are only worth 1 of 3 things; there shop price, there high alch price or the price a player is willing to pay. When your fruit falling your merely creating its high alch value 38gp nothing more, but possibly less. This is the amount entering the game, however in this example its also balancing the loss a player makes in creating the scrolls in the first place. PvP in its current form came along and removed any player based balancing out of the game. You always get the same amount for a drop its in essence pure gp. Before the economy used to be like so. alches+monster gp+shop sales(+coinshare)<=sink holes Now PvP drops+alches+monster gp+shop sales(+coinshare)>sink holes The solution is simple remove the PvP drops. However I have a gut feeling Jagex is doing this to extend the life of the game. By pumping gp into the ecomony there increasing the time frame in which the gp in the game hits the same level as the items high alch value. Sounds silly, but whips used to be about 3m, before the inflation they were close to 1m and this inflation has propped it back up. [/hide] Actually; Coinshare does not create GP, but it gives you cash according to the current Low end of the price range, and puts the item for MID on the GE, meaning it actually removes 5% of the cash... A money maker you forgot is Thieving, which brings instant GP to the game, but I suppose they can fall under monster drops... Spot on with the equation though :) Wrong. You drop hilt. Game creates gp equal to lowest value and gives you in exchange. No questions asked, no supply and demand, nobody has to buy. Now next step. Somebody wants to buy hilt in GE. They put cash in low at value you got from game. They can't get it at that value. So they have to put money in at mid. Market is fixed at mid thanks to coinshare. You drop second hilt you get lowest value in GE but since market is fixed it hasn't moved since the last drop. You have in essence gained 5% out of nowhere because the true market value should have been adjusted with the first transaction. In the game, hilts at unreasonable prices were coinshared, nobody bought them for months. They sat like rocks at unrealistic prices until the runescape economy inflated to the point were the falsly assigned values were moveable. Every hilt dropped that didn't see a reduction in market value added to this inflation. Its inflation of value. And inflation of value in a system where money can be created out of thin air based on that value most certainly leads to inflation of everything. End of story, end of runescape as playable for people who like to make money on skills and then spend on combat for fun.
  8. Well, there you have it. An extra helping of Jagex arrogance. Must be a British thing. How about they trust me when I say, "I guarantee you that the next minigame you release will have at least one game breaking bug in the waiting room/entry system". I say this because every one since Pest Control has had one, TRUST ME.
  9. trembake flames summoning as well as anyone who uses or defends it whenever he gets the opportunity, it's pretty good lulz actually. it's quite natural that he wouldn't make any effort to use the update effectively, so I'd say my post was justified Only thing you proved is that your opinion is invalid. Try reading the manual or playing the game your applogizing about before personally attacking me with nonsense and lies. Here is the manual page since your obviously incapable of looking it up yourself. Oh and ignore that inset picture unless you can come up with some appology for why it doesn't match what it acutally in the game. Since I was out to sabotage my gaming experience, I decided to figure out what that paw button did myself since its not in the manual. Glad I ruined it for myself of I couldn't of been able to figure out how to make it attack when it meets a set of game ruining conditions. End of Story.
  10. You rant, then cave in 5 posts later and admit they need beta testing... nice. They own their own engine, they have no integration issues but their own. Game breaking bugs where you can't even get to the new content like broken teleports and the inability to get into any new minigame without it being bugged up since the days of pest control are just inexcusable. They have no quality control, they need beta testing, period.
  11. So I log onto RS and give this new and "improved" summoning a try. First, time this year I call up a summon because it just plain sucks, but I'm open minded so here we go. So, then I have no idea how to interact with the stupid thing since the tab never appeared. So I rumage through the website for a few minutes to figure that now you have to right click the button up on the top right part of the screen to bring down a menu to get the tab back. Okay, so we got this new button now that looks like a paw and brings up an attack option. So, I'm thinking, "Cool you can send the thing in first have it initiate battle so at least it does something now". Wrong! You get some stupid message saying you have to already be in combat. So lets see the old summoning was: Get attacked Click the summoing tab Click call summon Hope it does something before you kill the thing which you called it to help with The new summoning is: Get attacked Right click summoning icon Fumble through menu to get tab Click paw on tab Click again on the monster attacking you. Of course, the summon is usually in a bad position since it straggles along and cant get there so you have to click call summon Click paw on tab again Then click on monster again Finally, pray that it does something before you kill it which frankly aint going to happen with all the nonsense above So lets see this is improvment... hmm... I call this making something that sucks just really suck [wagon]. They need to give it up and go make a warlock or hunter on WOW and learn how its done. They need a threat system, they need to reduce the tanking stats of the summons because they are ridiculous and their offensive capabilities are a joke, they need them to follow you with an AI comparable to all the other npcs in the game, then they need to option for you to direct them to go attack something using the same pathfinding algorithms that your avatar has, finally they need a tab again without a right click menu on a button the size of a lower case a on 12 pt font. Until they address these things, summoning is just plain garbage and anybody who disagrees with me is just a Jagex appologist without a valid opinion of their own...
  12. 1. Grand Exchange has become a blight on the land, it allows quick and easy access for people who don't even play the game to lock up resources for gold farming instead of doing what was intended to do and make it easy and quick for real players to get things. RWTing companies are really taking advantage of this to sell you loaded accounts. Undo GE limits, delete coinshare, and cap item/trade max values at 100mil. 2. Skills are dead unless you want the cape, but most of capes have no merit as they are simplely buyable. 3. Jagex refusal to have beta testing of updates. They are too inept to find the bugs in their own game, at least leave it to the players that can. 4. Updates as a whole. Updates used to expand and refine the game. Now they simply are filler with no direction in site. Also, they have all but abandoned trying to retain any players who reach 120+ by simply not providing new content. They would rather recruit next years class of junior high school students. I could go on, but those four are more than enough...
  13. I'm the devil at castle wars. Well past 99 around 30mil or so xp if you want think of it like that. Could be alot more if I cared to win more than I care to intimidate.
  14. I was DIY for a long time. I only traded and sold stuff to get armour and weapons. It was alot of fun in the old days (05-06), but sadly Jagex doesn't recognize you and has all but killed DIY with the ludicrous money that was given out from coinshare. Sadly I ruined my account by buying prayer levels from 90 to 98 when a friend gave me his phat after he quit. It felt like nothing like an accomplishment getting to 98, so I went and got my last level at pest control like a real player. Its hard to go back to DIY once you start buying though. I was able to do 99 smithing, crafting, fletching with clay tools that I collected myself which made it more of an accomplishment. My advice, don't listen to the knuckle draggers on this forum. They preach the same bs over and over: farming is great money, buy your skills its a multiplayer game, summoning rocks... Just play your game. You'll enjoy it more.
  15. Its lag. You probably clicked the right thing but the game never registered it. They changed alot of the game mechanics when they screwed over the banks last year. Before that, you could click on something in your bank and you would get just that, if lag was bad then you would get nothing. Now, when you get bad lag, you get something else. This problem occurs for all menus as well. Hell, you also can get people added to your friends list while at crowded places like the GE. You can thank 2008's garbage year for your misery this year.
  16. The new animation for Dharok is just wretched. They take the crush attack upcut and give it to the godsword, move over the normal slash attack to crush, and then have a slash attack that looks like your wcing. New holding position sucks too, it was nice holding that big axe up over your shoulder. Why don't they leave things alone and go remodel the leprechuans again....
  17. You ought to know better than to use 3rd party crap or take things you don't want to loose across the ditch.
  18. Shows you who Jagex is designing the game for no matter what president BS writes in his clan chat. :-#
  19. It had a lot of mystique in the old days when only a few people could drop whips and they were worth alot. But its rep is just riding on those fumes to be honest. In reality, its gone quite stale because Jagex rarely updates it and when they do they pad the mid to lower end with it. Nothing new at the top end for 4 years, doesn't really inspire someone to climb the ranks like whips used to. Summoning could of revived it, but slayer monsters weren't even given the pitiful charm drops they have now until people ranted. Well and summoning sucks too, lol, but thats another topic of disappointment...
  20. So this is how Jagex's updates things... Just as I imagined, hectic and unorderly with one guy running around all over the place trying to get it done. I think at Blizzard they learned to move the computers closer together or work as a team from the get go. Perhaps, Jagex could catch up one day.
  21. Should die, along with people who PK in robes and 1 expensive weapon or robes, 1 expensive weapon and 1 special-attack weapon. Stay off our +1 worlds and you won't have to cry when somebody like me starts messing with you.
  22. Your "farming level credentials" mean nothing. I'm 91 and everybody thinks my opinion is garbage and I leveled up to spirit trees on alotments and herbs because I'm cheap bastard that hates making GP. Since you already researched your erroneous 7 herb / patch average why bother and post this? Do you really think Jagex is capable of changing anything? I mean it took one year for crossbows to be changed to something decent, and one month just for 26king to become 76king. Yet, they changed the death rate on herbs just to see if you were noticing... Hey, did you hear they nerfed whip drops????? Tremblake, just leave your vile comments about Farming out of this. You already did this in the "Farming" thread and thus far not a single solitary person agrees with you. The average is 6.5 freaking herbs per seed. You, as we have already discussed, haven't done enough herb runs to even know this, so your "5 herbs is the average," talk is just that...talk. Doesn't retain any water. Haha!! Hey you might want to close your eyes if you see one of my posts about summoning. My opinion of farming is a bit higher than that of summoning.
  23. Hi, welcome to runescape farming. Average has always been 5 since they started giving out the little green hedge clippers. Now that your paying attention you see it to. :
  24. Okay, I'll rephrase it for you. The majority of women don't play video games or do sports. I never said there weren't those that do And just because your emotionally charged about an issue doesn't mean your right. I'll have to look for some statistics to back me up... Also, its best to let odds work for you than go against them. So, if your going to approach somebody you don't know on runescape, then its best to approach them as though they are a male.
  25. I don't have much sympathy for you really =/ 1-iteming isn't PvP Sure it is. Just like Castle Wars is. Just like Mobilizing Armies. Its all Player versus Player. Its just not the honorable mugging your idealizing. I 1 item for fun, I don't 1 item to make money. Losing a dagger or seercull means nothing to me. Seeing somebody cry and log, thats entertainment. Just like dropping cades all over the entrance of your respawn room in castle wars.
