Dragon Spear from Fire Giants under the Waterfall. I think I sold it for 300k or something, that was back in '05.

Perfect Time to buy Sharks & Super Sets?
Golvellius replied to craven_range's topic in General Discussion
Actually ahh no... Its not likely to crash, its likely to boom and cost heaps.. thats the point of hoarding.. or else I would wait till the "crash" and then buy cheap sharks... Are you American? :/ LOL... Thats what is going to happen. All you clowns are going to hoard the stuff from now till the update and try to sell it all at the same time. And all I will be seeing on the forums is "OMG I can't sell anything WTF! Jagex you lied and changed the limits! " Last month was a good time to buy, right now is a good time to sell thanks to you hoarding fools. ;) -
Well, your right on in that the game is imbalanced towards monster hunting. The solutions are so simple its just plain negligence on Jagex's part that they don't implement them. Just increase drop rates to like 1 in 10 and get rid of the dam lootshare! Its time that Jagex start making this game for everybody again and not the few. The few being the group monster huggers, the ethugs, and the non-players (aka merchants).

Let me just summarize what the BTS could have just said in one line. "WELCOME BACK E-THUGS!"

Tip.It Times Presents: The Other Combat Triangle
Golvellius replied to Turtlefemm's topic in General Discussion
I don't really belong to any of these groups. I don't really set out to make money, I just gradually accumulate it and then eventually do something with it. I was an old school DIYer until GE. If I wanted a whip, I got 85 slayer and got one. If I wanted magic logs, then I got the wc level to do that. Your definition of DIY is just plain wrong. I never did it with the purpose of generating money from skills. I did it myself so I didn't have to deal with gp and merchants and all that garbage that was pre-GE. I just relied on my skills and it was fun. Now I just goto the GE with stuff, turn it into cash and then back into something else all in one stop. I don't feel the burden of trading. However, price inflation cause by coinshare and GE pirating continually undermine alot of my efforts in the game. I think that game has been severaly imbalanced by monster hunting with coinshare after hyper-inflation of those items with the initial hoarding up by runescape's non-players (aka merchants). I had quit on one occasion this year because of this frustration. The dropping of godwar items has been promising, and I hope that all will fall below 10mil so that skilling once again has some value other than pretty capes. I am disappointed once again that these new shields are being given out again with Jagex pre-infalted price tags which are being hoarded up even higher. I wish they would return to the days of having quests produce items like dragon longswords and scimitars. -
I never use them. If I wanted to pray, I would use the best prayers. I don't see the point in pray in training unless your near an altar (i.e. the new quest's dungeon) or doing some horrific task like metal dragons. If you do it all the time, then all your doing is wasting prayer pots for a few extra damage points. Waste of gp to be honest, and getting gp takes time, so you wouldn't really save any time.

Next skill that's officially been killed - Prayer
Golvellius replied to XxTearGodxX's topic in General Discussion
Actually, it died when they nerfed Pest Control. I have found memories of going from 98 to 99 prayer at pest control. Using bones with the altar is god awful. I did that from like 70 something to 98. Ectofuctus seems not to bad now, especially if its faster and more automated. Now they just need a way to pipe slime up to the altar.... -
Voted what are those because this is all sounding greek and I don't see any of those buttons down on the screen with chat, clan, report abuse, etc..

Defender of Varrock - New Quest Released Today!
Golvellius replied to jirenma2001us's topic in General Discussion
Considering the quests themselves are in development for months, chances are the basic storylines have been fleshed out for quite a while before that with what Jagex wants to do. Since they're always working on several quests at once (hence why we can get 2-3 quests in a month), it's not really that hard to believe that a sequel and a quest linked to that sequel could come out in the same month. For Jagex to do sequels this quick is news to me. Maybe I haven't been paying attention much, but I don't think I've seen this happen before. At least not with 4 related quests. 2008 is nearly over, and they haven't released their big update they mentioned in the RWT thing yet, and so far this is the closest-looking thing to that. Although, that's beginning to sound alot more like their massive quest which I doubt, for some reason, will come out this year. So I'm guessing this must just be preperation, since I don't believe Jagex to do sequels so closely together without a reason. Wasnt the epic update at the begining of 2008 summoning? No it was cabbage, everybody alched their pouches and Jagex was forced to rework the whole thing in 2 months. Of course batch 2 was just shallow window dressing, but hey the kids seem to like it.... :wall: To be honest, this is update I've been waiting for since I saw that wallpaper like one year ago. If its a jolly old free-for-all with hordes of undead and rewards like Dragon Plate then it will be "THE BEST UPDATE OF 2008" in my eyes. Of course, my expectations are too high seeing how summoning and that graphics update are... -
The Wraith cause people to fight one another
Golvellius replied to Wkw's topic in General Discussion
At least in a fast clicking game you have a chance of being better than the other player regardless of stats. In multi, it suddenly becomes all about your stats. Thus higher level players abuse their power to crash other, lower leveled players, and in LS worlds bigger teams crash smaller teams. Far more frustrating IMO. A. Why even have stats or play this game if all you believe in is a simple game of you who got a better internet connection and faster reflexes? To be honest your just whining else if you really thought that you'd play FPS or something fast paced and not this game where you "TRAIN SKILLS ALL DAY FOR SOME REWARD" B. Don't go to Lootshare worlds. I hate lootshare and would get rid of it all together myself. -

How is it a problem if its in multi? There is nothing more frustrating than fighting over spawns in single where its nothing but a fast internet clicking game. -
What is better: New Skills or Upgraded Ones+Level Cap
Golvellius replied to Dire_Wolf's topic in General Discussion
2. Upgrade old ones. Start with the flop, summoning. Take combat out of it and focus more on skilling. (or actually make things that fight and die instead of being mobile statues) Some other things could be. Make smithing more than token in "dropscape", such as customizable armour etc. Give new and useful to grow in farming. Give agility some rewards, since its only reward is the best skill cape. Herblore, how about super ranging and magic potions. And so on... no more window dressing skills like summoning please. -
Leaf-Bladed Swords with a use at Corporal Beast?
Golvellius replied to ghjkl's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, I would use that or a dds if you want to stab something. Spears are slower and there is no way the zamorakian spear is the same as a whip/ss its more dlong speed like the other spears. Thats why ss is the premier weapon at waterfiends. -
no matter how popular you are, you [bleep] up your maths buddy. think it over. You don't know the "maths" pal. You don't know Jagex's combat calculations. You don't know how attack and equipment are weighted in determining a hit or a miss or what that damage will be. You don't know if +20 in equipment stats will buy you some extra misses by your opponent which could have saved you more hitpoints than the measly amount that were shaved off by the shield. You don't know anything, you just run your mouth like fool calling everybody else one...

a lvl 121 who has never gotten a chamipon scroll
Golvellius replied to mmmorgan's topic in General Discussion
I only have 2 champion scrolls. I did at one time try to get them, but gave up after camping on things for days with no luck. I gave up on getting a head from abyssal demons. Recently I got a head though. I probably killed 10k of them and dropped 50 whips since that came out. So I guess there is always hope for one... but not much. :wall: -
Charms - Not always worth picking up?
Golvellius replied to Lets_3ekout's topic in General Discussion
The two skills don't compliment each other. If you want fast slayer, don't pick anything up, take easier tasks from summona, and use a cannon. If you want fast summoning just goto the waterfiends or rock lobsters if you don't care about gp. You'll be wasting your time trying to get charms on slayer since most monsters in runescape drop a paltry amount of them. You'll also be wasting your time fiddling around picking up charms or trying to make summons attack anything in slayer if thats all your after. -
LOL. (LOLLLLLL) The unicorn has INCREDIBLE healing abilities. I never need food on slayer tasks. I rarely need food at godwars or dagannoth kings. The iron and steel titans are incredible fighters, slayer tasks are a good 25% faster at least. There is no one in this game without 99 summoning that could beat me in a 1v1 fight when I'm using the steel titan. If you can't find a use for 30 extra inventory spaces you aren't looking very hard. Can't believe people still have misconceptions like this. Trying to justify the 200mil you wasted? Or just full of yourself? I can surely beat you 1 on 1, it is a role playing game and the dice will fall my way sometime. I have beaten pig headed 138s at castlewars without even using the summon prayer. But, for you I promise full prayers so you can have no doubts at how useless it is.
-
you're way off lol. shards alone cost over 30m. that's where the majority of the price is, not in seconds. wolpertingers and iron titans both have seconds that cost 300-400 per pouch, if I recall correctly. and I doubt granite will drop that low. also, the usefulness of level 83 is nothing compared to 88/89/95/96/99 Wolf bones and iron plates aren't cheap, neither was granite, but you always get 70% of your shards back. You got nothing back on those. 83 is the lava titan it gives you +10 mining and it takes you to a very useful location near the hobgoblin mine. 88 is pony that heals a marginal amount Guthan's > pony in most situations 89, 95, 99 are battle titans, and summons stink at fighting. (I guess you could get into the small def bonus in the iron and steel titans.) 96 is the yak, I don't find a use for all that mobile bank space since you cant store pure ess and it can't restore your run like the bird The cute baby dragon and the cape are the only selling points of 99, too bad that baby dragon never grows up and the cape looks like messed up version of the fishing cape.
-
I'm waiting for the posts to follow where summoning was "nerfed". Granite is going to be like 100-150 gp ea I'm betting. Granite lobsters to 99 is looking real cheap, probably less than 30 mil now. Perhaps, I'll bother with it now even though it doesn't have much use after 83.

Bah, I can't make out the simple math behind all this ughly code jibberish. Can you answer this simple question? Given the following equation Max Hit = X * STR + Y * WEP + C where, x, y are weighting factors and where c is an arbitrary constant (may be 0) and STR is the current character strength and WEP is the strength assigned from gear in the equipment screen, and Max hit is self explainitory. Is X>Y? or X In english, which means more, strength on character or strength on gear? Also, prayer is factored into X? or Y? or both?
-
I will add my two cents here since I am an insider to this particular movement. Those who doubt that people can do this, here is what I know. I have been a party to secret chats beyond places like A C I D Y, where the real big players are. I have seen the market shut from a screaming wide open everbody selling at lowest price for DFS to selling rarely and only at max within a couple of hours. I have seen people who claimed to have bought 80 -150 DFS. These people are noted billionaires in the community. I believe that the market was shut down initially on roughly 500 DFS purchases based on what I saw. Over the course of 2 days probably 1000 DFS were purchased to cause the dramatic upswing we have now. But I warn you, this is an extremely cut throat business. Everybody says that they will sell at a set price, but do they really sell at that price? Probably not since the real winners get there goods out just before the market is flooded. You really can't trust anyone. The people who succeed at this aren't necessarily smart, but they are crafty and quite devious. This community trade goods like 3rd age items through the BH. This is the darker side of runescape and it is quite fasicinating, so I won't devulge more for fear of losing access to it.

He doesn't abuse the bug right. LOL I've seen them in there talking moving around storing/ removing things. I report them all, thats no joke.
-
So you're reporting out of petty vindictiveness? Cause I can't do it, you shouldn't either? DESPITE the fact that people who use this bug cannot move, open skill windows, or even talk? I also see your doing this out of some misguided belief that it will aid you in becoming a player mod. And guess what? It won't. People like you, i.e. the tattle-tales/wbms, make many scapers live in fear that anything, anything at all, that could be misconstrued into breaking a rule, regardless of how far-fetched it sounds, and be reported for it, at which they will receive some sort of undeserved punishment. LOL If knowledge = power then you're weak. Let me give you a BIG CLUE. I need to know HOW TO ABUSE A BUG to do it. And you have an unfair advantage over me because you can get your bird that drops herbs in there to do its thing while you do your's. I can't spell it out any clearer and serves you straight if you get banned for doing it. P.S. The last line was flame bait for those not in the know.

Eagerly awaiting the dragon platemail. It shall fit nicely with agility cape and dragon full helm. \ Also, please dont argue about the chick in front having chainmail when she clearly has plates on the shoulders. LOL

2nd of September 2008: Distractions and Diversions
Golvellius replied to Were's topic in General Discussion
Works for me, just take out the dam random events already. I'm sick of Molly, the maze, bob the damed cat, etc. Its getting real old after 1000 times of them, these I can just ignore.
