Weekly Poll: What would you do if a friend gave you a phat?
Golvellius replied to MPM's topic in General Discussion
That happened to me last fall. Buddybear (ex-tipiter) quit and gave me his yellow phat. (why me, I don't know, probably because im the "poorest" player at such a high rank) I sold it after 2 days for 144mil. I only wore it a couple of times cause its a boring, ughly thing, which infinity hat, jesters, and even the boaters "own". I gave 60mil and my guthans set to a dear friend, laikrob (a tipiter). I bought a masters wand, and bones for 99 prayer (back when they were 2k+ ea) and had about 40 mil left over (which I wasted away at castle wars -.- ). It spoiled runescape for me though. Raising prayer felt like a cheat code, not hard earned conquest. I got to around 93-94 prayer and stopped playing for a long time. I slowly came back and worked prayer up to 98 grudgingly at my altar. I then gave the rest of the bones to laikrob since I wanted 99 to feel like an accomplishment. I pc'ed level 99 over 3 weeks and that felt more like an accomplishment since it takes alot more effort and time than using bones with an altar. -
I have the 126 and high non-combat skills so... I'll take the phat set. I need something to alch and the game would be better off without them. :XD:
-
I think 100 or whatever it is to just shovel water into the barrel. But that gets boring and POE is useless since "the stuff" doesnt work. So, I just burn the hell out of everything. Its alot of fun that way.

Its a cape of achievement of hand eye coordination. (The traditional skills of video gaming) 99 Slayer takes patience and resourcefulness for many many months. Fire cape takes concentration, timing, reflexes over a 2 hour period. They are different types of achievements (apples and oranges). Saying one is better than the other is a personal choice. To those saying that fire cape is worthless because people paid people to play on their account, well you could pay somebody to get 99 slayer on your account too. Might take longer, but still... Of course your cruising for a ban in either case. :shame:

I only can think of two times that cheaters and scum have been idolized. No Naming names Q.V. Tip Mod gp for real money dude and No Naming Names the bug abusing dude. Both are gone, but seem to not be forgotten like they should be.

They are crystal bow speed now. They hit like a melee weapon and make karil's and crystal obselete in my opinion. You really want to train with them from now on instead of magic shortbow. For reference, I hit 27s with just plain mithril bolts and a range pot, which is the same as a full crystal. I don't think you need to see numbers just get yourself one and some bolts and you'll see "night and day" difference. Jagex just brought range out of the abyss.

What Skills do you think are the most boring?
Golvellius replied to C0lt0nr0x's topic in General Discussion
Runecrafting is drop dead boring. Its agility without the fun obstacles. Its also horriblely slow. Herblore & Farming are the most agrivating. Because getting the materials from scratch is really difficult and expensive to buy off people. Also, they take over your bank space. -
Do you actully collect your own raw materials?
Golvellius replied to Tbfgraphx14's topic in General Discussion
I'm pretty much a do-it yourselfer most of the time. I just can't stand buying or selling stuff to non-npcs in this game. These "merchants" are just a bunch of stuck-up, snivelers that know nothing more than intimidation and arrogance to horde rs gp for their retirement or something  . Of course, I'm not that great at the buyable skills. Some are near impossible until recently. 99 Magic, most of the xp came from runes I made. Did pc a the few of the end levels when pc came out. 90 Crafting is all mine from battlestaffing, and jewlry. 99 Prayer I bought around half from dbones, the rest I got myself shade burning, zogre killing, dragon killing myself, and pest control. 86 Farming, I relied on manage the kingdom and slayer drops, since thieving seeds is so slow. Also, go a few levels when I grew stuff for a rich friend trying to level herblore. Implings are making me think 99 could be possible. 79 Herblore, I've pretty much collected every herb I ever made, and can never seem to the sell the pots, so I just used them or warehoused them like my 600 anitfire, 300 zammy 4 dose pot collection. I gave up on this skill at 75 but then the summer garden brought me back. I do buy my own ess off new players since they haven't gone into the "nest egg must grow" phase yet. Although you may see me mine it once and while when I only need 1k or something. -
Think there'll be other elemental capes?
Golvellius replied to Ts_Stormrage's topic in General Discussion
There are so many capes in the game already. -.- Capes are more show then stats in most cases. Why make more? I hope that Jagex focuses on the things that get players excited like new weapons and armour. Dark Bow was good, but only level 60. We need more variety in top end gear. I'd rather see "barrows part II" then "fight caves part II". If you catch my drift. -
I love it. Sure its half the speed of crystal. But it fires 2 rune arrows which I was able to do 29s without the spec and 31 with. So, its just as good as 100% crystal which doesn't stay 100% for long. :( Karils is still better since you can get off 3, 27's in the same time, but it might be close if only I could find a dragon imp... This bow should have a 70 range requirement.

Took me 3 hrs to drop one. I like it, so I won't sell. Might drop more if the price is right. 8-)

I voted for varrock to keep Jagex's attention on that digsite. They need to get that museum tour up and running to the god war's battlefield instead of making more far out quests on silly islands. So, we can get some new weapons! Also, so they realize that they need to fix champions challenge so they can include it. -
I use to help people on quests. But, then I learned that most people just want me to hold their hand and walk them through it. That gets old real fast and wastes my time. So, now I only answer a question or 2 (if im in the mood) and if Idk then I say lookup quest help on Jagex website.

Doesn't work well in my opinion when I used to solo it. End up vengencing on the surrounding guardians and workers more than the queen for some reason.

Golvellius replied to Dork's topic in General Discussion
Holy Jesus! They fixed the shades!!!!!!!!!! Been looking at that bug since I started this game. Never thought they'd ever fix it. Use to be the best place to afk train before pc... \ Got 99 strength dharoking down there before pc took off. -
2 ways to off a cat now: 1)Take your cat to the rat pits and let it get killed or die with your cat on you. 2)Go hunting those polar region, kyatt -things or whatever, they are sabertooth lion looking things. I personally thought the rat pits were a bit over the top since they are like rooster fighting. (which is outlawed in alot of countries) You don't have the option "kick stray dog", so I don't get the problem here. You just shoo it like your own cat.

Ever wondered what Dragon/Barrows equipment is made of?
Golvellius replied to Orpheus's topic in General Discussion
They already gave the answer in god letter #25... see my post on the second page or continue to engage in rampant speculation and silly jokes... -
Archeology/Treasure Hunting could be an awesome skill. Indiana Jones adventures, instance dungeons, buried treasures... \ I'll just stay positive on it because nothing could be any worse than hunter rofl. :XD:

Ever wondered what Dragon/Barrows equipment is made of?
Golvellius replied to Orpheus's topic in General Discussion
God letter #25 reveals the lore behind dragon weapons. A player asked: I have also come across the Lost City of Zanaris, and all it has to offer. I have also been in the marketplace there, and there I had come across a fairy named Jakut, who was selling swords of a type of metal called Dragon. The fairy had also told me that these weapons were from a realm called "Frenaskae" or something similar to that effect, however the name or spelling eludes me at this point in time. The guardians of Armadyl who I have also helped in my travels have also told me about this place briefly, but I cannot remember if they said it was a place or person. Either way, it is all very mysterious to me. This realm or person must hold extreme power if they have these weapons made of this material called Dragon that is even more powerful than the Runite or Rune metal we know on RuneScape. Is anything known about this place or person, whatever it may be? Guthix responds: Freneskae is a realm of near constant warfare, that hath developed techniques and weaponry far beyond the inkling of most mortals. It hath influenced this land, for many warriors that were used by mine brethren in the wars of the gods came directly from that plane, and when defeated here oft did drop pieces of their strange and powerful equipment as they fell. Such powerful equipment inevitably became prized amongst warriors for both its power and sturdiness, although most warriors desirous of such equipment cared little for its origin. More than likely barrows & 3rd age armour are armour collected by the gods from other realms and given to their followers. -
Temple Trekking/ Burgh de Rott Ramble setups
Golvellius replied to Ts_Stormrage's topic in General Discussion
I wear: Neitiznot helm Fury Fighter Plate Verac Skirt Berserker Ring Rune Boots Rune Defender Whip Carry: 1 prayer pot Home Tele Knife Axe Red Chinchompies Rod of Ivandis Guthix Balance Pouches Blessed Silver Sickle Rest is some lobbies I use lobbies on the trekker because thats one reward from the game. I take the lowest one on the hardest path (girl/forester) I usually start with red chins wielded so I can get all the monsters attention. If I don't then the trekker gets killed by shades real easy. I pray and use whip mostly. Recharge at the church above the fighting trekkers using the shortcut. If I need more pouches then I get in the minigame after killing the ghasts. If I lose then i use home tele then karylel portal or whatever back to cannifus. I've done about 50 treks each way according to the signpost. -
Best Looking Achievement Capes for Trimmed/Untrimmed?
Golvellius replied to Tbfgraphx14's topic in General Discussion
All of the untrimmed ones look horrible cause they still have the trimming at the top shoulder part. Which makes them they look quite unfinished. -
Tip.It Times Presents: Robot Wars, aka Death of the Robots
Golvellius replied to Kiara_Kat's topic in General Discussion
Bots???? You read the annoucement all wrong. Its chinese gold farmers that are running amuck in runescape. I haven't seen bots since the the lvl3 baldies convention at the varrok ess shop and the insueing pure ess debacle. Its chinese people hooking up on the game like a job. They set there dudes up like you and I do at the yews and sharks. They camp all day, probably browse the internet at the same time, give there collections to their boss, log off, and clock out. Its the spoiled little rich kid getting dadies credit card out and buying up some gp thats responsible for all this. And hopefully, Jagex will get serious about these kids and ban all their accounts and their ip for life since they are ruining the game. -
Achievement diary = quests for lazy programmers Comon... a quest with no story line, just a list of things to do which are already in the game. Rewards presented for this installment were alright, but the concept is a joke, ill call it the "noob grocery list" or ngl instead. Mediocre update.. covered over with a graphics update that everybody loves for some reason. :-k

I vote for cure disease and group cure disease. Not that I want them or find them useful, just I think Jagex is on this cure disease path. Innoculation bracelets, sanfew serum and now...
-
Charges on the cw bracelet are okay. Thats over an hr of game play there. You can get plenty of gold and emeralds (safes, garoks, or mining) in an hour. Charges on the abyssal thing are useless. Add a zero and it slightly reasonable add 2 zeros and its a good item.
