Why doesn't anyone ever play with private chat on?
Golvellius replied to Today's topic in General Discussion
Chat Friends or off. If I didn't I'd get one of three types. 1) Money plz 2) Emote plz 3) Noob (or other insult from a jealous nerd) -
How does that help? You cant make two gold bars per ore. Dwarf next to the thing sells gold ores 200ish. And it never goes to the 500-600 ea that players sell. Just buy, smelt, and hammer bowls for cheap smithing.

Its a so so update for me. Alot of junk here for pures, but we'll still be seeing those "Jagex hates pures" threads... CW bracelets seem to be the winner for me. Should be the first easy to make and sell jewlry. Btw, the best update was hidden in small words at the bottom. The goldsmith gloves now work with the blast furnance. 200 gp gold training plz. \

115th person to 99 agility I decided to let it go, since at the time making front page required another 3mil xp. Now idk, its so crazy at the top for most skills...

Rarest skillcapes in the game!Ranks(UPDATED with more 99's)
Golvellius replied to kamykazee's topic in General Discussion
Well by definition, the rarest cape is construction. But its only been out a year, so if it was out say 4 yrs like crafting then it would have 400ish people as well assuming the current leveling rate. A population versus time number would be a more interesting measure to me. I think the ranks of that number would look more like this instead. Herblore Runescraft Agility Slayer Mining Farming Crafting Construction Smithing So on... -
How much/little do you use Pest Control?- Mage added.
Golvellius replied to Gin_and_Tonic's topic in General Discussion
I rank this calculation alongside the one where your IQ is proportional to the size of your head. Obviously, if you didn't optain xp in the proper ratio, I.e. use chincompies, alch, use variations of controlled and specific attacks, you must be a loser, no-life, high level noob. And of course we all know that only noobs and nolifers play pest control minigame, so this only makes sense. Hooray for your miracluous discovery in how to target people to put down. -
I only go there if I have sharks, super sets, prayer pots, super restores, and plenty of blood and ice barrage runes that I feel like using. Why play it, if you not going to do your best? Also, I can't stand teams, since the noobs always let the monsters kill them and never finish it themselves and it gets real boring watching them run around...

1 item tbing sounds like fun now! \

After all this time, they dig a ditch out of the blue... :? They could have at least made it an agility obstacle with difficulty equal to olaf's bridge pre-nerf. :D

.::11 April 2007 - Olaf's Quest Slippery Bridge::.
Golvellius replied to Latinoking's topic in General Discussion
Way to cave to the whiners... After failing the underground pass like 10 times in a row with 50ish agility, I learned good agility is necessity. Apparently, I should have just wrote posts on the forums saying, "OMFG WTH with the pass". -
Herblore for me. #2 is "making gp". :XD:

Discussion on possibilities of a combined rune company.
Golvellius replied to i_D_r's topic in General Discussion
I've been meaning to try mud rune crafting. Mud runes may have some demand for pkers on normal magic who don't take a mud staff into the wildy. I wonder what the demand would be for them if sold 100ea and how much xp you could get per hour using balloon to varrock from cw and duel ring back again. Breaking even and getting around 30k an hr would be a dream come true. Also, making tiaras would be a power way to level if only you could get your hands on large numbers of talismans. Sadly, only the dragnoth kings drop them in large quantities that I know of. -
Rule 2 Change: Should Luring be alloud?
Golvellius replied to Lakitsym_Rose's topic in General Discussion
Oh dear, the big kids wont be able to take advantage of the little, naive kids anymore. No free lollypops for being "smarter". :( Big kids should protest this, by cancelling their memberships and never play runescape again, cause their too smart for this. ;) -
Well, "pest control product" is what you call somebody instead of noob who is higher level than you. (Or at least thats how its used.) Its dumb. Dumber than the non-word, baby talk, "noob" or "nub" or "froob" etc. When pest control came out, everybody was praising it like the second coming of Jesus. It was fun, it was fresh, it gave great xp. People were saying "Yay, now I can get 94 magic and barrage". And they did... Then half a year later these people look around and realize that alot of other people got it in the same way too. Then they start badmouthing pest control and training slayer a little bit so they can think they are somehow better if they have 60 or 70ish slayer. I went to PC got a few million xp there. I still goto pest control for fun sometimes. Got my guthix mace recently, call me a pc product if you want. But we all know who the "noob" is. ;) Btw, so is somebody that afk trained at the axe hut or bandits somehow a real trainer over a PC product? Cause that was the in-thing to do before pest control?

Weapons usable against Vampyre Juvinates:
Golvellius replied to Raven6666's topic in General Discussion
The mithril blessed axe does hit those vampyres. Its stats would appear superior to the rod and sickle. But there are hidden bonuses in the rod. I can hit low 20s with it and cant even manage 10 with the axe. The rod outperforms the other weapons (never tried darklight or the wolfbane) so just stick with it even if its stats look stinky. Use a rune defender, beserker helm, berserker ring, fire cape, and fighter plate to help you out. Bring guthix balance so you only have to deal with half its hp by using the spec. -
Three words to describe Guthix (General Gods Chat)
Golvellius replied to RoswellCrash's topic in General Discussion
Nature, balance, and nuetrality. He is the removed creator of runescape who only intervenes when his creation is threatened. He is also the god of dwarves, druids, gnomes, and barbarians. I say "he" since his statue is of a male, budha-looking person in my altar. Guthix is the only real god of runescape, since his power far surpasses the others. Saradomin and Zammorack are humans that have gained immortality and a small bit of power to carry out their ambitions. Guthix doesn't take part in the boring morality play of good vrs. evil, which is why I like him. Also, I like his snazzy green stuff. -
This weapon is similar to torag's hammers or verac's flail. Same speed, similar stats. I think it will fall out of favor with most people very soon as they get over the novelty.

Party Hats - The Only Tradeable Skillcape?
Golvellius replied to r2-pleasent's topic in General Discussion
Well, certain skills have developed a rep over the past year as being extremely expensive to train properly. Blame construction, perhaps, as everybody began focusing on the time for money issue and "buying skills" cropped into general chat. So when a symbol of your skill rank shows up and some skills are know to be dominated by the wealthy, then the nature line is drawn to connect skill symbol to wealth symbol. And thats where we are today, the rich phat'ers have taken skill capes as an accesory to show their even greater influence. So yea, some skill capes have a wealth value assigned them in the sense that X number of raw materials are to be traded for. But, this has been going on since right after skill capes, so its really nothing that new. -
The obby cape was out a year before achievement capes, so it had a purpose. I wore it until I got the fire cape in the spring time. It also looks nice. Paying 20 mil for a dragon chain over barrows plates never made sense to me. But, people would, so the price remained high.

How well do you play your role in BA?
Golvellius replied to Defender2516's topic in General Discussion
I think everybody has a different opinion of whats hard or not. For me healer is the hardest, and defender is the easiest. (Heck if they don't call bait then I just stand there the whole game, cant get any easier than that  ) But, I usually do attacker since my teams generally lose if I'm not at that. -
The strategy you use depends on your team. If you have a weak team, then 2 healers and defenders uses horn so nobody dies. (This would get you through till the queen, then defender has to do his job) If you have a strong team, use 2 attackers. They generate lots of eggs for the collector to load the cannon. They finish off the enemies offense very fast, then goto the cannons while the healer and defender help mop up. (Best I've seen so far)

I think Jagex's mantra is to keep the game balanced as much as possible. I think when the whip was released on the abyssal demon, that was lost. I figure Jagex has learned from that, and will never release the best item to a highest level slayer monster again. Don't slay past 85 unless you like it, as there will never be another "abyssal whip situation"...

I can't see how you can call people who play video games for money a sweatshop. Lots of people dreaming of getting paid just to play games all day... If you want to blame somebody, blame the noob who can't play the game, so he/she gets out daddy's credit card to fix that.

You can do the whole thing in 15 minutes with 2 attackers and a team of 110+'s. Not even a challenge.

fighter torso: further degrading player killing
Golvellius replied to magekillr's topic in General Discussion
Wilderness is dead. Castle wars is always full. Possible reasons: You loose your stuff. Clans ruined it, as your guaranteed to run into 50 ppl if you solo. Prayer is out of style, so pjing is effective. 1 iteming is funner. P.S. Account sharing is illegal. Share the website with Jagex, unless your of course one of those who pay for people to get your cape back...
