  1. They always did I believe - it was in the small print somewhere.
  2. Ah huh! I got one of those too Albosky... and I searched and searched for this topic but couldn't find it. It was slightly different.. because I live in Australia:
  3. You have to get the Flashblock extension that I mentioned in my previous post.
  4. http://www.getfirefox.com https://addons.mozilla.org/addon.php?id=433 Firefox includes an inbuilt popup blocker that blocks intrusive popup ads. Flashblock blocks flash unless you whitelist a site (eg. you'd whitelist google video) but you can simply click if you want to play one. Don't block all ads, as many websites (including tip.it) rely on revenue from ads to survive. I suggest you actually click on them from time to time :D
  5. IMO yea... either we should show all the posts, or just hide all other forums than the announcements and the welcome guests... But yea, I talked with the admins about it, and they don't really seem to be wanting to do much about it...Wasn't that how it was before (guests saw announcements and welcome fellow scapers?) That makes the most sense imho. It might be a little confusing for people who arrive from links on tip.it/runescape (eg links to times discussion topics.) But perhaps the general board could be set to View=Reg, Read=All? I've nver tried that before, but I think that would work.
  6. That's a known Firefox/mozilla bug. Can't be bothered finding it. Might be different for other apps though.
  7. Png, Gif or Jpeg = compressed image = much faster to load = can be insterted into posts.
  8. Maybe they're just stupid.. or maybe it's average 3mbps or something. Don't complain, just keep quiet 8-)
  9. It's not coded in, it's part of the loop bit.
  10. What would be the advantage of this? I mean.. what would you use those private boards for?
  11. How much is a ticket to the movies that last 2-3 hours. $10? $15? How many hours do you get for the $5 it is to be a Runescape member? ;)
  12. You could try going and standing outside the heroes' guild and asking someone to trade your un-recharged amulet for their recharged amulet. Maybe pay them 100gp or something.
  13. I agree that ban appeals should be kept private. A seperate forum for it wouldn't increase reply times at all, as admins still take their time to discuss the appeal before contacting you back. I agree that people should be able to tell why they have been banned, but it's usually pretty obvious. Making it so people cannot send pm's is a key part of banning people, so they can't continue to break rules through pm'ing other users. The ban appeal form is for contacting the administration team, not the pm system. Regarding your post that was deleted, I believe it is current policy to pm someone if you delete their post/topic (unless they just joined up to spam or whatever.) It is also expected that if you have a compaint/query about a deleted topic/post, that you private message a staff member, not post a new topic about it. If the forum pruning system malfunctioned, then that needs to be looked into by an admin. If a baseball player walks out, goes up to the umpire and belts him over the head with the baseball bat, that's not a "strike" - different offences have different consequencces ;) Er, and note that I'm not a staff member and my thoughts on this are in no way official whatsoever.
  14. A system whereby users must provide proof that the site linked to is their personal sitewould require far too much work to code and for staff to monitor, imho.
  15. Php = higher server load and more bandwith (as the page has to be reloaded for each calculation.) Javascript = far faster for the user, less bandwith required. Not that many people have Javascript disabled, and anyone that does should know why the site is not working, and add it to their whitelist of sites to use javascript on.
  16. Norton is a known resource hog, in fact some people have likened it to a virus by how it slows down your machine.Well, that's not very helpful if you already have norton. And I think a paid antivirus appliction is far better than a free one. Personally, I have never had any troubles with Norton, although I do have a fast PC with plenty of RAM.
  17. Note the difference between bits and bytes please. The abbreviation for byte is "B", the abreviation for bit is "b" There are 8 bits in a byte. Thus 1 Mbps is actually equal to 0.125 MBps, which is 125 KBps. Hopefully that helps you to understand a bit more about your download speeds. Also note that some ISP's have things like "max 1Mbps" which in actual fact are far slower when the system is under high load (during the day when lots of people are using it.) Torrent speeds can vary greatly depending on the number of people seeding. Also, some firewalls or ISPs can cause it to be slow. Consult the help documentation of your torrent client. Here in Australia, I get 256kbps downstream and 64kbps upstream for $60 AUD per month = $45.45 USD. Don't complain to me about download speeds :P
  18. That's a matter of opinion, and such an opinion can only be formed after one has heard said music & sound ;)
  19. Feel free to post/pm me the link to any sites you might've been banned from for using Firefox - that's a serious evangalism issue :)
  20. Drop one of your antiviruses, you only need one. You need one antivirus and one firewall. If the norton is up to date, you should keep that one.
  21. I really should've told you all a long time ago, but it's time I "came out." Yes, that's right, I am a closet-ninja! I've been in training since early childhood, but only in the last few years have begun to perform fully-fledged nija tasks.. assasinations once a month and the occasianal hypnosis of monkeys. I find the lifestyle suits me well, the intense physical training, the emotional cleansing of meditation and the sheer [wagon]-kickery. Here's a picture of me just before I departed on my last mission. Shhhhhhwing! You're lucky that's just a picture, for if you saw me like that in real life you would be dead within 4 and a half hundredths of a second - I'm just too cool. And by cool, I mean totally awesome. Contrary to what you might be thinking, I did not simply follow this tutorial on how to make a nija disguise. (Note that's not me in the tutorial pic, so not an identifying rl picture.) So um yeah.. Ninjas > Pirates. Totally.
  22. I don't care - at least we FINALLY got in! :D Compared to how much we kick wagon at the olympics (in terms of populations vs medals) it's kind of embarrassing that we haven't gotten in for so long.
  23. TYVM for the timeanddate link :D :!: Just pointing out that it will be sunday for some people, but most likely those people will be asleep heh :)
