Seen anyone using lately? No? I didn't think so. I reckon it's probably because it's converting the &'s to & (which is a logical thing to do.) #-o Could try just changing it to something else.. or else messing with it to make it do &.

Because the emoticons are not of equal size, you end up with a really ugly looking mess that looks as though someone just threw darts at their screen and said "okay that's where they're going" Suggest making them equidistant. If you arranged them so all the 15x15 ones were in a block, and then the larger ones were separate, that would help a lot. Maybe I'll post some suggested html tomorrow.

The Streets - The Irony of it All Read or buy & listen. Some interesting points in there. Most things aren't too bad in moderation, but when you start with addiction and overuse, it causes problems (alcohol, caffeine, marijuana, whatever.)

To put links on these boards, we use BBCode. Read the FAQ :)

On offtopic. http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=475361 was referred to "the existing world cup thread" but all I could find was one predicting the result.

Seems to be happening a bit to people lately. http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=472577 Odd :)

An encoding issue. Pages on this site are being served using iso-8859-1, but those characters are unicode. Try forcing your browser to use UTF-8 instead of Western. In Firefox that's View - Character Encoding. In IE, View -> Encoding. In Opera, View -> Encoding. In theory something's gone wrong along the line. Either stickman_sam's browser should see the character encoding and encode the message input correctly, or phpbb isn't sending it correctly, or phpbb should be converting it, or something.. I dunno. Albosky/Grin - any ideas?

Absolutly not true - rougly 100,000 members that play runescape, $5 each character makes it $500,000 a MONTH! Dont tell me Jagex cant afford to keep freeworlds open just because a some choose to block ads...Jagex has a business to run. They have to spend most of their income on servers, bandwidth, development, wages, rent for their offices, coffee, hardware, etc. etc. etc. That's exactly it my friend. You play f2p, you see ads. Pay for p2p, you don't see ads. Getting back on topic... you might want to try Filterset.G for Adblock (and adblock plus,) that way you get a huge bunch of ads blocked already. Also, please don't block the ads on any site you care about. If you care about tip.it, don't block the ads. This site is provided for free and I don't know for sure, but I think it's making a pretty hefty loss and someone's paying for it out of their own pocket. Many sites that you visit provide information and services for free and blocking ads negatively affects their finances. Me personally, I use flashblock to block intrusive flash adverts, and I use Firefox to block popup ads. I block intrusive ads, but I regularly click the text based and image-based ads on sites I care about.

Sorry this took so long. For some reason I didn't see the reply until today  Here's a first draft. Comments, suggestions, critique etc. welcome. Especially with the reason why some forums don't affect post count (I know why.. it's just putting it into words :)) ---------------------- Contents [*:3dgnosu2]What is post count? [*:3dgnosu2]Which forums are not included in my post count? Why not? (AKA Why isn't my post count increasing?!) [*:3dgnosu2]What are the ranks associated with post count? [*:3dgnosu2]Meta (Changelog, further questions etc.) 1) What is post count? Your post count is the number of posts you have written. See Wikipedia's article on Post Count. Note that some forums do not count towards your post count. 2) Which forums are not included in my post count? Why not? (AKA Why isn't my post count increasing?!) The following forums do not count towards your post count: [*:3dgnosu2]The market forums ([bleep]es and Splinters, Zamorak's Armoury, Robin Hood's Workshop, The Tailor Shop, The Greenhouse, Pick 'N' Apron Bazaar, Market of Saradomin, Chef's Cauldron, Falador Square and RSC Marketplace.) Does Anyone Know How To Set An Auto Shutdown Using XP?
Vape replied to connelly's topic in Tech and Computers
Your p2p application may have a "shutdown when transfers complete" feature. Otherwise, just throw your system into standby. Doesn't use that much power really, and your computer will become obsolete long before it wears out. -
Can we sort out the trading forums here?
Vape replied to Evadek's topic in Forum Updates and Suggestions
Just make it mandatory to include your rs name. And perhaps automatically set email me when I reply is posted. -
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at http://www.beyond-science.com. Maybe your browser must be nth dimension compatible to access the site?

Need help getting a good FREE antispyware/adware sweeper
Vape replied to lifter080's topic in Tech and Computers
I'd second those two posted by blade. After you've scanned with them (in regular and safe mode) get Hijackthis and copy and paste a logfile here :) -
http://forum.tip.it/viewforum.php?f=81 ;) There's a specific sticky for jokes there too.

On what OS? That's certainly not a Firefox problem, as I've been using the most recent version of Java with the most recent version of Firefox on Windows XP since before Firefox 1.0.
-
Sorry, updated the Firefox link. I don't know about finding Java for old OS's, how about http://developer.apple.com/java/index.html ? Your OS is 8 years old :-? I think you need a new computer mate.

We ought to have a post count faq sticky, either here or as a regular (not sticky) post on the announcements board. Include the forums where post counts are not counted (info) and the ranks that are assigned to post counts (info). I can write it if you want, but it would be best for an admin to verify the information.
-
Try calculating it by page loads or post count or something - I reckon you'll find that the people that use the forums most are happy to have the styles back ;) Not at all. Chronicles is a PhpBB theme that anybody is free to use. Tip.it uses it. Runevillage uses it.
