  1. Some things he said is true. People are always complaining of changes, then referencing the past and forgetting the problems the past held. And people talk about reboot servers. How far do you go back? Do you reset when things inevitably get bad again?
  2. -10mins/day -no gp needed -halfway to 99 in just 3 of the 25 skills If that is too much for you then have fun in you're black dhide. Judging by the way people post, a lot of people are fine with complaining in dhide.
  3. This is why there are so many people wishing for Nex armor to drop. Everyone wants things quickly and easily. These same people were wishing bandos armor would drop, and barrows and whips before that.
  4. Saying Jagex is trying to make Nex sets not obsolete is not right. The reasons why PoP armors are never used isn't because of Nex armor set effects, or because the armor bonuses aren't enough. PoP armor is currently being made to be sold, not worn. The people buying them have money to burn or are either keepsaking or flipping them. They are nowhere near common and may remain uncommon for a very long time, especially if that 10 hour time limit persists. If PoP armor was a drop from something like KK that did not degrade to dust, or even if the tradeable version we have right now did not disappear after use, it would be worn regardless of Nex armor's pitiful set effects.
  5. The stun thing wasn't even skillful, it was a glitch used at the right time. I know people are debating if its bug abuse or not, but that really was not intended by the developers. He also got lucky it maged as often as it did, so it didn't damage him much. Jagex really needs to stop dick riding woox as much as his fanboys. This all stems from his Nex solo, which he wasn't even the first to do. Either feature more people who know what they are doing, or feature no one. There is a reason he isn't well liked in most PvM circles, and that is Jagex's fault, not his.
  6. So the players weren't grinding beforehand, the developers made skillcapes, and then players started grinding, by your own admission. Yet this was a player-made thing? It was such a player made notion, that they weren't doing it before skillcapes got released? I'm not really on either side of this argument, but this is clearly an illogical position to take. Jagex didn't make players think that not having a skillcape is inferior. That was not their goal. They wanted to give people who reached 99 something, because most of the skills had no real use at that level and they still don't. That is player made. EDIT: You sure did mate. Way to jump down my throat.
  7. We already know you don't like grind, you quit, fine. RS is a grinding-based game and if you don't like that you should find another. I have fun getting my levels, and the tougher the level the more fun it is to get. No matter how much people (including myself) may rage about how annoying some skills are, in the end we still like this game and that is in part because of the grind. Taking the grind away entirely is the last thing Jagex should do. Not that some things aren't too much (5k cw games) but in general it's fine. My point was that botting/RWT exist basically as a result of the grind. Content that isn't the most efficient becomes instantly obsolete because of the grind. Unhealthy amounts of necessary gameplay are considered normal and encouraged because of the grind. The game is less social because of the grind. The gap between the elite and the casual is huge because of the grind. When RS was thriving, grinding was rare, optional, and almost even taboo. Now it's mandatory and strongly encouraged. The grinding was always there. It just led to nothing, because half the skills had nothing to do or no worth after a certain level. Some skills are still like that. Then skillcapes came, and max/comp capes. They still aren't mandatory or strongly encouraged, except combat. These are player made notions, not developer made.
  8. And the verdict is "Trolling". Goodbye. Did you or did you not literally write, post #4 on page 1:
  9. Nex is done solely in void RIGHT NOW with 1 virtus tanker. I wish people would stop thinking impending doom and use this week to try and do what they can. I'm not even talking about me, I'm talking about everybody after this one week who doesn't make it in time, and acting like they don't exist. Past events do not justify screwing over the present or the future. Also, they're going to buff all of the bosses specifically because of the example you are posting. That is actually a really great point I haven't even considered. It seemed everyone else in this thread was talking about the people playing now and themselves. And because of that, I was only thinking about those people. You are talking about people who either just started playing or are way before that level, or even people who haven't started yet. And for that I can't argue against your point. It seems most everyone complaining now is at the level where they can do something about it, or could have done something. EDIT: Holy shit, made this reply based on the original post. Nice assumption with your edits.
  10. Nex is done solely in void RIGHT NOW with 1 virtus tanker. I wish people would stop thinking impending doom and use this week to try and do what they can. And how is that at all a logical point? Are you trolling me or just terrible at arguing? Again, come back when you know what you're talking about. You were just complaining you couldn't do high level things in your mid level armor because you were too stubborn to do something about it. You make your own destiny. That quote was you, if you didn't realize. And my point stands, you are mad and poor and coming out of the woodworks.
  11. oh wow, entitlement much? work hard or not, the spots still get camped by higher level players. you can't just make that go away. you're starting to sound like the guys at wall street telling everybody else to hike their bootstraps up while sitting there speculating on oil. Except I did hike my bootstraps up. Multiple times from 0gp. By using void until I pvmed/slayed a decent set and supplies, then pvmed some more. Not hard, void is free, just takes time. Surprise, this game takes time to do stuff, minimal skill.
  12. Yeah, no. That's not even close to being factual. Come back when you actually know what you're talking about. Case and point. Hah! That made my day. For bossing, sorry I didn't specify. PvP is dead.
  13. And all the mad poor people come out of the woodworks. It is now obvious they wanted armor to crash only so they could afford it with putting in no effort. Seriously, work at a goal and accomplish it. Don't be complacent with mid level gear. People were fine with wearing barrows and gano for the rest of their lives. Glad Jagex changed that. Finally, melee needed this update. It was too weak in dps compared to range against bosses and had the problem of not being able to hit from a distance, unlike range and magic. And with the number of distancing abilities they have, I am not worried about that becoming unbalanced again.
  14. I hardly call 5k cwars games easy or fun. I hate botting and have never botted, but 5k games is ridiculous and I hardly doubt anyone besides ~500 people would complain if it was lowered. Jagex has done more controversial things in the past that harmed more people. It's the only thing that keeps me and many others from trimming. Instead of putting something that takes skill to accomplish, they put in a time waster.
  15. Except selling your armor at the start of a crash doesn't kill you, it saves you money. If no one sold their armor due to fear there wouldn't be a crash and it wouldn't have dropped. Come on man, I can't believe I keep having to explain this. It's not like the item prices just crashed for no reason. And if I did sell my armor at the beginning of the crash I would be contributing in starting said crash.
  16. The people complaining that it should go down more? Yes Me and everyone else like me, yes Now this is where you, to you your own words "talk past" my point. I never said the prices wouldn't drop. What I did say earlier that this was not a natural drop. I knew Pernix wouldn't be 2b a set forever. But the reason why it dropped to absolutely nothing that quickly was a mixture of EOC and panic selling. That is where the problem lies. Never before has something gone down this drastically over one update, except spirit shields, which bounced. Except this isn't choosing what to do so much as it is bandwagoning. Because some people started dumping, and w2 merchants dumped, the rest followed suit. And this isn't a sense of entitlement. This is the old "if everyone jumped of a bridge, would you" scenario. It's just silly, because now, like I said and you neglected to mention, these same people are rebuying the armor, causing more economic upsets. If they would have stood calm about the situation, the crash wouldn't have happened. I never said the armor wouldn't go down, I said they wouldn't have gone down nearly this much if the panicking didn't happen. And as a side note, so much for your first paragraph, since you ended writing the rest. And yes you were "smarmy or condescending", whether you wanted to be or not. But I guess two can play at that game. Can't win an argument unless you insult the guy you are arguing with, right?
  17. I'm confused at what was said before. If I buy the 12 month subscription, what will I pay after the 12 months are over? The same rate as right now?
  18. This is nothing like granite legs. This is a crash that came before its time instead of a normal and natural price drop. Also 2m still wasn't a lot when they came out. And dragon legs/barrows was still better. We aren't talking medium level armor, this is the best currently in the game (the lvl 85 stuff isn't in game yet). It shouldn't have dropped like this, even if people wanted it to drop. No one who had it wanted it to drop, it just did because people mass sold it. I feel the only people complaining about Jagex's post are the people who: a) Wish Jagex said something sooner before everyone panicked. b) Can't afford it otherwise and want the armor to decrease more. c) Are people who sold the armor during the panic and want their selling investment to pay off. Like I said before, I wasn't lucky. I wasn't born rich. I didn't get help. I worked hard for what I had. I have every right to be pissed off at the people panicking. I don't know anyone who owns this armor who supports this price drop besides people who either have more money than they know what to do with or people who like being poor.
  19. This is simply not true. But it is. And the rest of the post you are just agreeing with him. It is not true that the items in question "had no reason to crash"(this was Sly's assertion), I explained as to why in my previous post. I also disagree with his assertion that the panic sellers are the sole/original cause of items crashing(panic selling contributes, but usually is rooted in some update), and I also disagree that panic selling is irrational(he sort-of called panic sellers "idiots"). The only reason they crashed was EOC, and the Obby armor BTS didn't make it go down as much to make it a reason for the crash. Panic sellers are the reason why it crashed so hard, along with people quitting/selling the gold. And these same panic sellers are the ones who panic bought right after the news post today. So yes, they are idiots. They cause everyone to lose money because everyone else was selling. It's the same principle behind a bank run. No reason to sell, because the armor is still the best in the game. The armor never needed to go down like some people were saying. It didn't go down because there are cheaper alternatives, because as an owner of this armor I wouldn't ever want to switch to a cheaper alternative. It went down so fast so quickly because of panic selling and people selling because they were quitting and selling the gold.
  20. This is simply not true. But it is. And the rest of the post you are just agreeing with him.
  21. Knew this would happen. Glad I kept my Nex set
  22. That would be cool to host somewhere, just I don't know if Jagex would like it. Do they sound really different compared to the new format?
  23. Like I said, 200 hours for all 3 sets, not just 1. That sounds about right. At least faster than the PoP gear. And if people don't want to put in that time, they shouldn't complain about it, especially now that there are suitable replacements.
