So let's see. Sins= Bad stuff we've done. Ghost from someones post was General Khazard who we slew as part of a quest. I'm assuming that the rest of these alleged ghosts are also people we've killed in the past. If you've ever looked at Runescape as if it were the real world you'd see that by us killing anyone and everyone that gets in our way we're basically murders, think of the Goblin societies that would develop if we didn't have the low level players going to slaughter them every five minutes (all in the sense if RS was a real world). I cannot see Jagex instilling a moral sense in RS because as an adventurer you must kill or be killed pretty much. Too bad there's nothing such as Roleplaying experience, we might see a lot more people playing a character rather than running around saying "1 p00ned j00!!!111!!!!!1!!".

You're one of the lucky ones Sunny. I've met a rare few like your mysterious helper.

Absolutely! All that does is give a power trip to some person because they think they've got the ability to shuffle someone off their runescapian coil.

How old were you when RuneScape was released?
tefda replied to X_T_H_X's topic in General Discussion
I was only 12 years old. It makes me feel old at times when I here all these 10-13 year olds go on and on about their online experience because when they were born I was playing Math Blaster on DOS. Oh how technology has progressed for the better and the worse. -
I've always thought of the "lone adventurer/teams" debacle in the manner that MMORPG's are oxymorons. First off the first real RPG was of course Dungeons and Dragons the pen and paper game. In D&D you and a group of friends would dive into dungeons solving thousand year old mysteries and fighting the relatively challenging monsters. But the idea behind it was that you and your group of friends are the lone adventurers in the world and you are the heros of that world, no one else is going to solve your puzzles for you, just you and you alone. Next MMORPG's are a similar concept only you multiply the number of heros times one thousand and have quests that not only are playable by every person who does exist in this world but also quests answers are given out freely to those who cannot solve them. The only REAL solution to this oxymoronic problem is for the random instanced dungeons/adventures that require you and your team to go into. But onto your real question. I believe that Jagex will put in more team-like gameplay in the near future. Playing with a group of friends is very fun but sometimes I prefer to play and level alone. To be able to create clans and small teams of people who can join up at anytime with a click of a button is surely the next step that we will see in the near future.

My solution is to divide your time between Pest Control (when you're high enough to have very fast games i.e. Affliction) and the Chaos Druids underneath Yanille. Don't skip the guam leaves, every herb counts. Then again I've mostly stuck with Chaos druids and have had less luck with Pest Control.

That'd be interesting, I'd like to see things more like the Barrows weapons meaning their uniqueness in regards to just about every other weapon floating around Runescape.

What happened to the hype of necromancy?
tefda replied to Defender2516's topic in General Discussion
I'd guess it's because everyone is excited about other updates and Jagex counts on that to build suspense for their further away updates. -
Are you a "Old Timer" or a "RS2 product"?
tefda replied to lordkrohn1626's topic in General Discussion
I'd have to say I'm an "Old Timer" as I played RSC and was around well before the beginning of RS2 and saw its conception. Only fools judge by levels. Only fools believe that you can earn honest to goodness respect from people through a video game. I do have a little prejudice against "RS2 Products" BUT it's only because I'm a little bit jealous that some people could get to level 126 in a couple years whereas I've been playing for about five years. But then again Runescape isn't my number one concern in life :D . -
Whatever anyone says level 80+ armor will only arrive when there are a HUGE amount of people who are able to use the armor, otherwise those that have the armor will sell it for outrageous prices. Just like the Dark Beast that requires level 90 slayer but drops nothing new. Many people speculate that once a great deal of people reach level 90+ slayer it'll get a new special drop.

I agree 100%! Loads of people play just for combat experience because that's all that matters to them. I play Pest Conrol when I can just to get the combat experience, but as of late I get Herb Packs as well. I do love the Shades of Mort'ton Mini-game as well but because I cannot keep a group going for more than a week and I HATE world 2 players I never manage to play down there.

Things from other games that would and wouldn't work in RS?
tefda replied to DarkDude's topic in General Discussion
Absolutely correct, so many people say it, but it cannot be, also Jagex said that you could take a group of friends along for the adventure. Treasure Trails was speculated as being able to take your friends along but I think Jagex was just testing the waters of Randomness. Their next step is to pull a Diablo on us and make a real random dungeon that works, but they better work quickly or newer games might overshadow them. :? -
if you could have one skill at 99 what would it be?
tefda replied to Ghostlord101's topic in General Discussion
99 Construction as it costs so much to level it up quickly :( -
Platform by the temple of light? Possible me:p3?
tefda replied to Dead_Dude4's topic in General Discussion
I'd agree but didn't those platforms say "Jump" and would only have an examine for the particular spots you could jump them? -
Ooh! Well presented! I suppose I'd agree with you on all of them. Surely there has to be more though.

I Resolve to... play Less Runescape all the while maintaining knowledge of current Runescape events. Along side that I would like to continue to have my website a success and to do that I need to continue to play Runescape to procure ideas for game. :? Quite the conundrum I'd say.

Lol wth? Gah, I don't understand that. Only Einstein would understand something like that. :wall:  :? Experience equals the rounded down number of the sumation of your level minus one of the rouneded down number of current number (being X) times 2 to the power of your level and root 7. Then divide by 4. You'll learn Sumation in High School math, not hard. The only thing not actual math like is floor which is a computer term for rounding down. Edit: Sumation means that you start at x=1 and then do the formula and you add to your received number by adding the next value of x until you reach that L-1 value.

Jagex Mod Madness in Future Update forums on Official Site
tefda replied to NukeMarine's topic in General Discussion
That's great! That's what we need to see from the Jagex staff, despite there being millions of players they still take the time out to be human and browse the forums and relate to the players! That's the old Jagex coming back for a breather! -
Everyone's stating how much success they're receiving with the rabbits foot but for me I have received only one Nest and I am near 100% positive that I haven't missed one as I continually check my chat log to see if I received the message that a Birds nest fell out of the tree. I'm cutting Oaks for those interested. I was really hoping for a huge increase, like 1 every two loads or something like that.

How about you train at the level 100 Asyn Shades. Just get yourself a Steel key from the Phrin Shades and then you're golden, plus there's a bank about two parts away and you'll get great Firemaking/Prayer XP if you burn them plus then you'd get more keys to gather up more loot.

I'm looking for advice on whether or not I should continue Skilling all of my non-combat skills and go for higher combat level? First off here are my current stats My primary goal is for all skills 60 (I'll get everything 60 and then try to raise Hunter up to 60). A better idea of how I'm doing it is located in my Blogscape but that's neither here nor there. I also want to be able to go slaying for the big game out there such as the King Black Dragon, the Kalphite Queen, and the Dagannoth Kings (along with being able to easily trounce the Higher level shades). This all brings me to my dilemma. I AM going to raise my Herblore up to level 55 to use up all of the Kwuarm Herbs I've been getting from PC by doing PC and getting Herb Packs instead of extra experience. But after that I've got a whole month (Winter Break) to basically do whatever I want, so here is my question... Do I continue to try to raise my skills (i.e. Runecrafting nature runes, planting seeds, getting herbs) or do I work on getting all of my Combat stats to 80+? I'd need around 1700 points. But that's really possible with Affliction. So I'm really asking, is having a higher combat worth having lower non-combat skills?
-
Let's see... 1.) Pest Control: For the amazing Experience you can earn, and for the moment the Herb packs. 2.) Shades of Mort'ton: Because you get amazing loot from the treasure chests and there's a store that buys it all for high alchemy value. 3.) Blast Furnace: Free Smithing XP even when you're not smithing anything.

And we know this from History, remember the Miniclip fiasco? Besides we've got to realize that the commercial is relying on the visual appeal of WoW. You can't show the depth and personality of a game in a 30-second advertisement. Therefore Jagex couldn't display the satire and the simple, 'time-waster' attitude that the game truly represents. Instead they would show shots of people fighting the KBD, the KQ, and other high level, 'fancy-lookin' ' monsters and then of course they'd make some movie clips that are stylized and not actual in game footage and then Wakka would be 100% correct. :(
