If you WANT to keep (and use) it, by all means do! I never understand why people are keeping an eye on the prices of items going down. Fact is, most prices (eventually) will. The keep eating their hart out about the price of item X dropping, if they wanted to keep the item anyways. Eample: the whip. I bought mine for 2.1M at the time. Now they are 1.5M or so. Should I bother of the 500K I "lost" during this time? No, I don't because it's an item I use almost daily, and has given me much (and faster) xp. For as much as I'm concerned, if you USE the BGS as an iten you always wanted to have, keep it. If you see it as an investment, get rid of it, prices WILL fall over time, most liekly.

What's the best way to train crafting without losing money?
transcript80 replied to Tempest_Mike's topic in Help and Advice
Bottom line: the more raw materials you buy, the more you lose (except for above mentioned methods). So all the raw materials you get yourself help in losing less. My method: battle staves. Buy them from zaff every day, with varrock armour 3 that's 64 a day. Buy glass (I make it myself with free sand from Bert (hand in the sand quest) and seaweed from Arheis (buy 80 a day in Catherby for 2gp ea) and blow orbs. Charge the orbs in Edgeville dungeon (air obelisk) and attack to the battle staff. You get magic AND crafting xp, and the battle staff made is worth more 2300gp then the staff alone. I high-alch the staves and end up making 1500+ gp per staff. Of course I craft my own nats and double cosmics... A versatile, but not-too-fast way of training various skills. If you want fast (=expensive) xp, try dragon hides. -
per patch, you get about 7 herbs average. For you, thats 140 ranarr. multiply by the price of a ranarr (don't know) and voila! Tip: do a patch before you log off, and farm the patch again when you log on nex day. Doubles you harvest with a simple method. Also, when you are at the plot, farm marigolds as well, as they still sell at 3k+ ea. If you cook all day long, you're not going to make money, you'll lose. Just thought I'd mention it.

They are 62 each, middle price, and falling. Since you buy them for 3 ea, 59 profit per isn't bad. Teleport to draynor with a glory, tele to cabage patch ot the way to the shop. I have no idea how many you can buy per hour, with a BoB it's even more. If you have lots of glories and recharge those you can make a pretty nice income I'm sure. However, I also think that there are WAY better ways of making cash....
-
for F2P, smelt steel bars. Either mine ores or buy coal, or both. The more you do yourself, the more profit, but the slower the xp. Either sell the bars for cash, or smith them into plates. either sell those, or alch them.
-
And you can clean and drop them while you fight then next druid

and frogskin, if I remember correctly.

Moved into a new house -> basically managed my kingdom and made some nice gps. got 70 prayer las night, ans with it combat level 120. One small step to lvl70 to all stats, major dreaders like construction, agility, rc hunter to go. God I hate those skills, but one has to have goals, right..... I like my stats, all rounded up now: 90 melee, 70 pray, 80 mage and ranged!

Use the combination of farming, slayer (or chaos druid killing) and the Kingdom of Miscellania. Farming: Seeds are relatively cheap, you'll profit from that or have cheap herbs to use. Slayer: Several assigned monsters are great herb and/or seed droppers (Aberrant spectres FTW!!!) Kingdom: you'll get the herbs cheap, only downside is that you hardly get good herb seeds and there's also quite some lower leveled herbs (tarromin and harralander). Use the lower herbs as well, for serum 207 and haralander for either enery potions (good if you use them yourself, they are worthless in the GE) or harralander tar. You couls also use the kingdom for raw profit ( I think fish/flax is best mix now, but check on prices to be sure!) and use the profit to buy herbs/seconds.

So i have this anagram: Ace match Elm. tip.it says to talk to Cam the camel. But when I do, with clue in oinventory and camulet or OR off, he says " that's not quite what I was looking for". Now what? What IS het looking for? I trie logging in/out, switch worlds and talking to the other camels, all to no efftct! thanks in advance for your suggestions!

That's 5 tiles actually... :P Anyway....My tactic is to work verticall for the last 2 rows. You have no troubealigning the first three rows you said. For the last 2 lines, I try to get the 2 tiles from the left most column in the right sequence, then pass them along to the right side to get them in the right position UNDER EACH other (vertically). So on for the 2nd column from the left. The remaining 3 tiles should fall in the right sequence after that as well. Hard to make sense when not having a vid or so to support me.....

Banshees are ok, they drop lots of herbs and noten p essence. lvl 15 required, and earmuffs. Cockatrice (lvl 25 + mirror shield required) drops load of limwurt roots, which are worth quite a lot. They also drop cockatice eggs which you can sell or use for summoning. Harpi bug swarms(lvl33 required + slayer lantern required) are good for clue scrolls lvl2 and fire runes I heard. Never had them, though Basilisks (lvl 40 required) have nice drops. These are the lower slayer level moster I personally found good. Consider pyre fieds too, but I have miced experience with them.
-
So.... Slayer! as said before, the answer to all your questions! You'll level up combat skills of your liking, slayer itself, you get charms from slaying so you can use them later on for summoning. Buy some decent stuff for slayer if you want to spend money (black mask, Guthans if you cannot use a bunyip) and off you go!
-
Or safespot the generals. Slower, but more xp (they have more hits) from your task. Also, they have better drops. I did some just for fun and got a granite shield!
-
Do all "easy" quests. they are either the first in a series, unlock stuff (fishing contest, priest in peril, lost city) or are just plain..... easy... and get your QP up fast. In most cases there's a xp based reward, which helps you level a bit faster. After that, look up the requirements for the harder quests, so you have some goals to train to (for me, the herblore level for Legend's was.....ugh...agonizing, lol). You'll seee that doing the quests gets you travelling all through Gielnor (try "One small favour") and gets you to know all different kinds of races, tribes and their tales. Have fun
-
I'd say put that Guthans to use and do slayer. *jingle* Slayer. The answer to most of your questions. *ends jingle*

Low level food (tunas that are a by-product of swordies) are your new best friend. You have to access the bank 2x anyway when filling your pouches, so withdrawing the extra tuna is like 2 extra seconds...
-
If you do slayer, you'll get all kind of charms, blue being the most rare of them. For golds (usefull for terrorbirds later on and bull ants) kill giants (hill, moss, fire) For crimson kill ^^^^^^ For green.... well don't hunt for greens. They are expensive. Only usefull when using the herb bids (forgot its name) For blues kill kalphite soldiers (lvl80ish), but they are rare and should be seen as "extra". The bulk of levelling will porbably come from crimson charms.

Go to GE-rehab. Or stay away from the GE, or even better, RS in general.
-
Unless you want farming xp! I grow every herb I use for herblore, starting fro high level lower and lower as I run out. Doing daily farming runs, I run out of seeds I get from monster drops.... Back to toadflax...lol
-
If you want, you can use the serum to cure afficted in Mort'ton. They give you some rewards as coins, vials, tarromin, logs..... Did the math? Yes, exactly the ingredients for more pots! Using an inventory full, I stayed until I was bored, and even sold stuff to the sroe guy because it didn't fit in my inventory. Sure, not THAT fast, but sort of free....
-
Since you only have meber's for a day, I doubt you did lost city. So Vannaka in Edgeville would be your best bet.
-
I wondered wether the poster before me bought grimy - resold clean herbs on the GE and wether it was without a loss since clean herbs tend to be worth a few gp less. Cleaning herbs is still slow xp..... I grow my own herbs getting seeds from monster drops (= zero cost) and make the best pots I can with them, gathering seconds in the mean while. You could do that, but it is only nice xp when done in bursts... I also use the pots I make, so I hardly get any profit from the skill. On the other hand, its costs are also vitually 0. i train my herb in between other things, eg slayer tasks, farm runs etc.
-
you buy-resell fom GE? And make no loss? wow. It is slow exp, though.

I never understood the joy of a pure anyway, they miss out on a lot.... but anyway, I heard it is still "profitable" with pures, thy only have to get some def. Maybe teh subforum about pking is where you can lok for a good build.
