I've been through this.. My one grandfather had Alzheimer's for my entire life, and he died, and his wife also has it, and she's close as well. Cherish your time with her, and keep praying. Don't stop believing.

I find that Fox is also an excellent character to stay alive with, because he has amazing "reflexes", a good jump, and a powerful Up+B. You really can't go wrong with blaster spamming than a Up combo or two.

Okay, for languages the big thing is remembering the conjugation patterns for each tense, as most verbs will follow a similar pattern. Also, review vocab in 15-20 minute increments, taking similar amounts of breaks in between.

Mario Party two was the climax of that entire series. Shock Drop and Roll is the best minigame ever.

I love Fox and Ice Climbers, myself. Fox is freaking fast, and can blaster spam REALLY well. The ice climbers have two people, and you can throw and smash at the same time. :P NEVER train on level 9s.
