  1. I'm trying to make a list of all the popular tradeable items you use everyday or purchase from the GE on a common basis. It can be for PvM, PvP, skilling, merchanting or anything that you can think of. If you have any ideas please post them here. Thanks! I will edit this post as people contribute more. The more you think of the better! P.S. Certain items may be excluded due to ge mechanics and the items having little to no fluctuations at all (Fire Runes will be excluded because I doubt it'll change much whereas Water Runes is included due to the huge demand from Ancient Magick users and Earth Runes for Vengence users) List: Abyssal Whip Staff of Light Dark Bow Bandos Godsword Zamorak Godsword Saradomin Godsword Armadyl Godsword Bandos Chestplate Bandos Tasset Bandos Boots Armadyl Helm Armadyl Chestplate Armadyl Plateskirt Saradomin Sword Zamorakian Spear Fury Amulet Onyx Ring Obsidian Shield Obsidian Cape Obsidian Maul Berserker Ring Warrior Ring Seers Ring Archer Ring Dragon Boots Dragon Spear Rune Bolt Adamant Bolt Mithril Bolt Broad Bolt Onyx Bolt (e) Dragon Bolt (e) Diamond Bolt (e) Ruby Bolt (e) Emerald Bolt (e) Rune Platebody Rune Plateleg Rune Plateskirt Rune full helm Helm of Neitzinot Warrior Helm Berserker Helm Farseer Helm Archer Helm Dragon Bones Black D'hide Top Black D'hide Chaps Black Dragonhide Red Dragonhide Blue Dragonhide Green Dragonhide Frost Dragonbones Runite Ore Rune Bars Adamantite Ores Adamant Bars Mithril Ores Mithril Bars Coal Iron Ores Iron Bars Steel Bars Unicorn Stallion Pouch Steel Titan Pouch Pack Yak Pouch Healing Aura Scrolls Steel of Legend Scrolls Winter Storage Scrolls War Tortoise Pouch Spirit Terror Bird Pouch Tireless Run Scrolls Bunyip Pouch Swallow Whole Scrolls House Teleport Tab Various Runes Prayer Potion (3) Super Attack Super Defense Super Strength Saradomin Brews Super Restore Avantoe Lantadyme Dwarf Weed Wyvern Bones Yew Logs Magic Logs Cannonballs Yew Longbow Magic Longbow Mystic Robes Top Mystic Robes Bottom Ancient Staff Glory Amulet Power Amulet Strength Amulet Rune Arrow Adamant Arrow Rune Armor Set Green Dhide Set Black Dhide Set Rune Scimitar Rune 2h Rune Battleaxe Vesta Set Statius Set Morrigan Zuriel C. 2. Golden Rule of RS: Lower level = noob Higher level = no life Same level = bot because you are just so 1337
  3. Steel titans - Slayer's best friend. Yak/Tort/Bird/any other BoB - Look at single pkers/Solo boss hunters Yak - Lets you make 2.5-3.5m/hr at DKs Unicorn - Lets you solo TDs for as long as it's summoned Oh and Summon/Def pures pretty much rips everyone.
  4. Useful? not really. Sell to a friend TBH. They aren't worth that much street Thought so but was just checking. Going to sell to a friend now because I'm that nice. :P 83 mage, 91 sum. Gee I wonder if there's an activity to collect a lot of charms really really fast but at the same time level up mage and lets me use only half my runes..... ;)
  5. DKs is just as reliable and with a yak it averages at 3.5m profit/hr (Banking bones/hides ftw)
  6. Isn't that a dark bow? Edit: Oh I think I get what you're saying. You think KQ can protect from range and mage fully in the first form. It isn't true. It's just a super high boosted defense from the shell (confirmed by Jagex). The 2nd form has pray melee because it is able to fly, thus super high defense to melee. But I've killed KQ with GS on slayer tasks before, you can solo it pretty easily with a GS on both forms.
  7. Maismic halves attack speed of range and melee of opponents for 48 seconds if you're using barrage. But mage's max hit is way lower than both range and melee so it's understandable to balance it with the special effects.
  8. My favorite memory from back then was my clan (a bunch of noobs now that I think about it<3) had our weekly clan gathering on top of varrock castle in world 20 I believe. It was a simple time, and our leader Ladynaomi1 (retired ~8 years ago?) owned a yellow phat when none of us really knew or cared to know how valuable it was. We were so silly back then and carefree. It was way before the efficiency madness kicked into RS and people all began powerleveling everything. I remember when I became the first person in my clan to own a dragon item (a mace at the beginning of RS2) and brought it to the Varrock bar near wildy were we had our first RS2 meeting before a pk trip. I instantly became known as the girl with the pom-pom ;) My last memory will be the war we had with the 25th Legion (closed now I'm pretty sure) we were crushed but It was just so fun to bring my R2h into the wildy and have fun with my clan. I honestly miss those times a lot nowadays. I might be maxxed out, have a lot of skills, and know a lot more about the RS community than I used to, but that time when I was just a silly little 13 year old was definitely some of the best times I've had on rs. P.S. Making money killing Zammy monks and selling the steel maces at fally shop thinking that was great money. Any1 else did that?
  9. Very interesting to read because i am myself looking very long for a yellow partyhat. BUT buying a bulge of junk with a value of 1600-2000m you can't sell for only to get that precious partyhat is insane. Only thing you can do is trying to shove that pile of junk again in somebody elses bank. 'Ha! Now it's your pile of [cabbage]!' Is that what i want? No thank you. It might not be what you want, but it's what you have to do atm if you really want that Phat. Unless you get lucky and snipe/have a friend sell you one for market/sudden Phat crash happens... Well you can always complain to Jagex to fix the GE so that they actually reflect Phat prices at the real level, but we all know how diligent the Jagex team working on the GE are.
  10. Daily Activities (Look on AoW for a guide, usually 15 minutes for 1m every day) Low Combat Req (~1m/hr or higher): Green/Blue Dragons Barrows Spirit Mages Aviansies PvP Tricking High Combat Req(~2-3m/hr or Higher): GWD Corp TDs DKs Frost Dragons Skilling(~1m/hr): 2x Nature Running w/ Graahk Grenwall hunting Unicorn Scroll making Others: Merchanting Flipping Manipulating Manipulation Clans Herb Runs For Pures (~70 or lower combat with minimal skills): Item Gathering (ex. Swamp Tar, red spider spawns) F2P: Great Orb Project That's all the methods I can think of off the top of my head. F2P or pures can average 500k/hr while P2P can average 1m+/hr and high lvl P2P can average 3m/hr easily. Take your pick.
  11. So.... Clues most likely out in 2 more days..... Does anyone have any idea how to solve that monstrosity yet? I was thinking of possible things they may add as the level 4 clue puzzle, these came to mind: Celtics Knot/Burr Puzzle (Did a bit of research on puzzles and came across Burr Puzzle on Wiki. Apparently the Chinese came up with this as well and it was popularized with the name Burr Puzzle because it resembled a seed burr. Rubik's Cube (Assuming they can get past the 3d aspect of it and hope RS player can think in 3-D) Sudoku (Already used in the rouge traders minigame for runes, but still would be fun to put in a clue) RS based Crossword (Sounds cheesy but it could work) Fold Puzzle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:PuzzleFold.png) Very simple and could be put into rs pretty easily Pyraminx (Similar the the Rubik's cube except it is pyramids instead of cubes) Most of these I found on Wikipedia. Any of them can be put into RS (albeit with some kind of creativity) and could make a clue solver's day a living hell. Anyone have anything else in mind?
  12. w53, 77, and 117 are the ones I know of. I know the people in w77 generally do not accept people on teams unless they are 80+ dung
  13. This is sick, cruel, sadistic, evil, and by all means just plain mean. I love it.
  14. To the first article, what happend to the days when experienced scapers such as RSw44 or TS Stormage actually written something interesting with good insight? >.> The main article on the tip it time nowadays is nothing more than a rant section. I understand if you as a writer is frustrated at players complaining at Jagex for delaying an update. I mean god forbid you never heard it before. But is it really that worthwhile to put it on the main article? Tip It Times used to be an enjoyment for me and now after today's last straw following a string of bad articles I think I'll end my tradition of reading the times which began 2 years ago just because the editors no longer care who writes them. I remember when RSw44 was still writing, every week he'd post something interesting about the RS economy and gave me new insights into the workings of the GE. Or when Necro wrote his on the history of major RS bugs, that was always a fun walk down memory lane. But nowadays for nearly 2 months the articles seems to be just about people rambling on about their boring lives and the same old cliches (with a few diamonds in the roughs thanks to TS on the decline of the times, Forsakenmage on her fictional, and RSw44's return about Jagex cover ups). Rants like this don't deserve to be on the times, if it does then I'd go spend 15 minute writing about everything in RS that's ever irritated me and I'll be able to provide tip it with a year's worth of writing. Leave these rants for the forum discussions, and actually let the intelligent insights flow on the times. Article #2: Your guide to slayer seems like a guide to be polite. Unfortunately in the present rs state of efficiency I doubt many people would care about spawn stealing or cannoning in a crowded area. Although I agree wholeheartedly with the "heated" discussion about those slayer's "girlfriends"
  15. Seems like a rant to me. The only reason poor people stay poor is because they choose to stay poor. Today's RS gives people plenty of opportunities to make 1-2m+/hr. The reason people don't do them is because they choose not to do them. As for people like Chessy, while I do not like her methods of getting rich (namely starting a merchant clan and beginning the mass scamming now used by most manipulation clans), she did take a huge risk in the undertaking and it is probably one of the few attempts at striking oil which worked for people in RS. If one little thing had gone wrong in Chessy's clan then she would have instead lost millions for herself and her generals.
  16. I use an alog alert to stalk on my friends. I maintain it's alright if they like it. ;) That and its fun to pm them "Grats on sigil/hilt/claws/level/visage" before they even get to tell anyone and spend the rest of the day checking their room for hidden cameras and wondering how on earth I found out. Also I keep mine public. I like sharing stuff with my friends. Otherwise I'd play rs with public, friends, clan and all chats off and only log onto quick chat worlds.
  17. Got bored one day and tried it. It sucks.
  18. If you're a level 3 skiller you can actually be very useful, even on a team of high combat players. You do need very decent skill levels though. exactly how does one find decent skillers, is there a cc or world full of skillers who would say......follow around a lvl 130+ feeding him and making him free stuff as he fights monsters just as hard as his solo monsters? realy want to know a cc or world I've played on teams with 4 lvl 138 and a lvl 3 skiller before. It's nothing special. I'd much rather 5 lvl 138s who all know how to do everything rather than a lvl 3 that just sits around and do nothing while bragging about the 99s he gets from doing nothing.
  19. Acutally the gap between purple and yellow is comparable to yellow and green. The difference between purp and yellow would be about 1.5-2 pumpkins The same goes with yellow + 1.5-2 pumpkins which is about green. Adding 2 pumpkins is a decent offer for red but might be a bit larger when adding more risings. I checked the market again and seems like divine is going for yellow + cash again. Could this yellow = divine be caused by anticipation for the new clues? Before the last phat buyout most merchants were invested in 3a, could there be an anticipation amongst the rs population that these level 4 clue rewards could serve the same purpose and possibly replace phats? My personal belief is that they will not be able to replace phat. The rs economy 2 years ago compared to now is vastly different. Whereas back then a 100m bank would put you in the company of a rich player, now your bank needs to be worth at least 1.5-2bil to be in the same category. Assuming phat price is related to the wealth of the average rich player and holds a certain ratio, phats now are vastly underpriced and has a real price possibly 3-5x of their actual ge value.
  20. Blue -huge gap- White -Big gap- Red -gap- Green -Small Gap- Yellow -Gap- Purple The difference between green and yellow is miniscule, but the difference between Blue and White is enormous. Once you get to the higher phats because of the low supply its pretty much a seller market and you're pretty much at the mercy of whoever is selling a phat. Only sure street prices are honestly green and below.
  21. 10 years left on RS, but according to Jagex Dungeoneering (endgame update) is already released. Assuming there's actually 3 batches (next batch to 99 then last to 120), will it really be 10 years before every storyline in rs is covered? Also his comparison for Steller Dawn with WoW doesn't really make sense. Seeing as WoW is absolutely huge and I don't even know people who play SD, I'd say RS is still a much better comparison between the 2 MMO giants.
  22. I'll assume you're talking about before a war or something. I don't listen to music while playing to rs but sometimes clan leaders try to give us extra incentives (such as embarrassing high school picture if we win or making the entire male council team sing a song like Single Ladies by Beyonce if we pull a certain amount ;)) to get people more motivated to come. My old leader promised to sing California Girls by Katy Perry if we won our first round of the JCup on our ventrillo karaoke night if we had won. Sadly we were in a slump and pulled our lowest in probably 6 month :(
  23. Impossible to say. Because atm there is no medium item for a trade from divine to phat, a divine is either = to yellow or = to purple. Which means, those who only have a divine and want to convert it into a phat can, depending on luck, either lose a huge amount of purchase power or gain a huge amount of purchase power. My belief is that Divine is still between a yellow and a purple, and that the new 3a items will fill in as the new medium item for these trades to go through. Then we can actually get a better read on how much a phat/divine actually cost. Used to be A/W was yellow. Now its green, it seems. reverse that. Was green, now its yellow. Divines definitely above yellow now. I'm not positive if it'll make it to green or just hopelessly plummet down below yellow again. Of these two possible outcomes, I would say the second would be the most likely. People are building up street prices by sniping sigils and is becoming well known among merchants so its no surprise. Hmm I can't seem to find any accurate info on divines atm. Is this divine > yellow caused by a phats crash or divine rise?
  24. Ahh that's right. Forgot about that thanks for adding.
