  1. Bronze Dagger it up tbh. Oh someone said it before me. Sling it up then. Does this thread even have any discussion value?
  2. Because its so much more interesting to click once and watch your character chop down a tree. Skilling takes 0 skill (with the exception of dungeoneering) where as true combat such as high level PvM and PvP takes skill. I'd much rather focus on switching prayers, paying attention to my hp/prayer, swapping gears and knowing when to spec than just watching my character chop a tree along with 50 other bots. The skill it takes to be good in combat is the reason why there is still to this day not a effective dungeoneering/boss hunting bot yet there's a million bots for skilling.
  3. Probably the best thread Tip it has seen in a while. What ever happend to good old fun just like this? :)
  4. Write about how the GE was a conspiracy made by the penguins to spread socialist ideals tbh.
  5. If Ruby max 500 on Nex and Diamond (According to Tip.It's max hit calc) hit 413 without full void and 496 with void, would Diamond actually become a better option to use at Nex than using Ruby bolts? Without spec Ruby is way worse than Diamond and if you have full void aiding the Diamond it hits pretty much the same as ruby.
  6. BGS is the only useful godsword for me at corp. For anyone who says they perfer a SWH..... Let's go corping? You can use SWH on my team all you like :D I want fast kills without spending 10m/100 specs :D
  7. Never seen a deflect that hit back more than 50. You'd have to screeny that to show us. Until then I'm sure you just saw wrong.
  8. Exactly - if you have the skill and your opponent doesn't you will have a HUGE advantage, because if you can switch to high strength gear and a good special weapon before he/she switches to the appropriate prayer, you might very will end the fight very quickly. This is why using prayers definitely takes skill, that is not argueable. If you're able to switch between turmoil, soul split, 3 protection curses and 6-7 leech curses, that is skill, and is probably the only real difference between hybridders. Anyone can make enough for dragon claws, anyone can get the best food and a yak full of it. I'll bet that a skilled hybrid in mystic/hides/rune and a whip who has mastered pray switching will rip someone in zuriels/bandos/karils and rapier with claws, who can barely switch. I said it before, if you can use protection prayers/curses to your advantage, DO IT, who's gonna stop you? A bunch of kids with a large vocabulary of indelicate words? Honour? This is a game, nobody cares tomorrow. You can, but most likely no one will fight you. It's just less effort to fight someone who doesn't pray when they aren't that hard to find either. You can be the best prayer switcher in the world but if no one would fight you that still means it's not fun for you. Disadvantage of prayer: -People not fighting you in low wild -In high, by the time the person losing the prayer battle realize they'll lose, they have yaked back all their risk -Mid level = glory out That's only for high lvls though. I'm sure pures with god spells and tbs can find ways around that, but I'm not familiar with that nor am I familiar with anything f2p related.
  9. Most PKers rely on getting quick KOs (AGS/Claws/DDs/etc) and protection prayer eliminates that. If two pkers go against each other protection isn't advantageous to either so its an unspoken rule to not even bother with it. Soul Split/Smite is much more preferred as it actually forces your opponent to pay attention to prayer as well as hp. Praying tends to be a lose lose situation in pking since both players are now forced to stay for a longer periods of time. (Small exception is in bridding but then again protection prayer is pretty much useless against a good brid so they still tend to use ss/smite) Of course if you aren't a pker and are praying then just pray on and run away from the nasty pker.
  10. You all say pkers are arrogant [wagons]. When I see a skiller I see a botter. When I see a rich person I see a person in a manipulation clan. When I see a PvMer I see crash units. Why is old pking better? People actually risked. Theres no silly things as using rune/mystics and getting ancient staff or vls. You used max gear to pk max gear. Clan wars gets crashed less often because of the amount of worlds you can hop to. Reputable pkers actually got to know one another instead of messing around in edge getting "76ks" from rune fights. People who wanted the benefits from wild worked for them. I worked so that I won't get killed by rc pkers. I worked to go get the best mage cape in the game. I worked on getting every single clue scroll done instead of getting it handed to me like I was an infant. You all say I'm idiotic and arrogant. Take a look in the mirror before you judge anyone.
  11. We will have to wait and see where exactly the soak value is applied to see if dragon claws will take a big hit. If the soaking is applies only to hits over 200 and acts as your 1st hit is still the normal damage, and you hit 400-200-100-100, only the 400 and 200 hit would be soaked while the remaining two hits would not be. This would put the DPS higher than an AGS could achieve with the same soaking. AGS = 800 * (20% soak) = 640 TOTAL CLAWS = 400-200-100-100 * (20% soak) = 320-160-100-100 = 680 TOTAL OR it could be AGS = 800 * (20% soak) = 640 TOTAL CLAWS = 400-200-100-100 * (20% soak) = 320-160-80-80 = 640 TOTAL Really depending on how the soak is applied to claws means you might or might not deal more damage on your last two hits, making AGS gravely inferior as a special weapon. Assuming the claws keeps on the 1st example, hitting hits like this: Claws 380-190-95-95 * (20% Soak) = 304-190-95-95 AGS 760 * (20% soak) = 608 Claws = 684 AGS = 608 First one. I was wondering about the exact same thing yesterday so I tested it out. Claws > AGS by a long shot.
  12. I still say Rune Larges sometimes in game and people around me just go like what's a rune large. ):

  14. The prayer necklace might actually give bonecrusher a valid use now. Also Warped floors <33 Shame I was lazy and didn't get 120 dung earlier :( Back to dung it is!
  15. Things this dev blog could have used that would have been so much better than talking about gnomeball/role playing (MMORPG stands for Massively Multiplayer Online ROLE PLAYING GAMES) -Prayer Flashing -76king -Dancing -Any type of clan activity -1 iteming -Boss Crashing -House Option overloading -Every glitch that was ever fixed -Discontinued items -Dungeon Rushing -Power leveling -That whole massive argument about cannoning -Nature running -Tie Minigaming -Anything anyone can think of to improve efficiency -Anything anyone can think of to add a bit of lol to their day -Any form of slang used in the game including abbreviations and 1337speak -3rd party programs, ranging from ventrillo/team speak to bots. Did I miss anything? Anyways, my point is this whole game is pretty much emergent gameplay. Instead of us arguing and wondering about which came first, the chicken or the egg, can't we just enjoy the game for once? Jagex has made many mistakes in the past and now but honestly those of us that are still playing obviously still enjoy the game in some way shape or form. It might not be the same for all of us but we don't have to rip each other's eyes out about it.
  16. Meh I had a mistype, I meant to say .5% If 2,000 santas is only 0.5% of the market, then you're implying there are 400,000 santas out there. In his 2006 tip.it times article, Duke Freedom estimates that there are 15,000 santas in the game. It's possible he was off by 1-5x, but there is no way he was off by 30x. Santas were dropped in the Christmas 2002, when RS had enough server capacity for around 16,000 people to be on at the same time. That over 24 hours could produce around 200,000-300,000 or more Santas being dropped (Assuming an average RS player plays for an hour to 2 hours a day)
  17. After 99 rc, 99 slayer was a joke. RC hardest by far.
  18. When will people stop blowing hoarding this far out of proportion :?: But Chessy really does ... 2000 Santa's not even 5% of the Santa market. It's a huge amount for 1 person, perhaps the most hoarded by one person by far, but even with all of that she can't affect the Santa market that much Um what? I'd say owning nearly 5% of the Santa market is infact a huge hoard, insanely huge. Of all the people that play rs, 1 person owns nearly 5% of a particular item, massive. And I'm sure if she chose to she would affect the Santa market. Meh I had a mistype, I meant to say .5% Also I doubt she can affect the Santa market with her actions alone. She's obviously trying to by purchasing such an absurd amount of Santas but even with the 2-3k that she probably owns today (I think she has more than 2k since her vid on 2k santas was released like nearly a year ago) she can't really do anything to seriously influence the prices on that. For her to affect Santas seriously she'd need to get all the generals in her manipulation clan plus the owners/generals in all the other manipulation clans while convincing all the solo merchants to buy out santas all at once for a significant affect to take place. That or she can hack all those accounts and buy santas that way. How much is her net worth estimated at anyways? convert her net worth to santas and we can see how many santa hats she can actually purchase.

  20. Great guide! I was staring at that thing for like 30 minutes wondering how on earth I would even attempt to solve it until I saw the guide. Great job figuring out this method, almost makes it easier than a puzzle box now lol.
  21. I've gotten 70-99 range on black dragons and 99 slayer and have yet to seen a visage. My advise is don't dwell on it. If you're lucky you'll get one but trying to go after it off a kill is just foolish
  22. Atm I have it mixed together, although the only things I've entered is for F2P clan pking gear as I am not as familiar. I'm over 200 items amazingly so I say I'm making good progress. Updating this thing is hell though since I still can't find a method to upload data from the GE directly to excel.
  23. Unfortunately, that would make the list extremely complicated. Right now I'll be very happy if I can come up with more than 100 items to put on here so I'm taking it one step at a time. Thank you for the advise though.
  24. so he can merch them :ohnoes: maple/willow/yew logs (fletching) Haha, merching such a large collection with 6 GE box is pretty much useless, but this will be very useful in merchanting by determining the overall price fluctuations of the entire RS economy. If I can get a collection of 100-500 items that spreads over all of RS it would serve as a very good determinant on how an entire RS economy is doing (Ex. Recession, Boom, etc) Also it can help merchants by seeing how their individual investments are matching up against the rest of RS. Ex if all these items together rise a total of 50% but you made a 40% profit in the same time, you're actually making a loss compared to the overall economy. Rune Wiki has a common index of 50 items but I don't like how it's organized so I'm trying to remake it on a better version. Ofcourse this is all my long term goals and right now I'm just collecting item names :P
  25. I'm just seeing what kind of things the common RS player will need/use/buy constantly in the GE. As of now it's nothing yet but I'm hoping in time I can get a good enough list to use this to reflect on the general RS economy.
