You'll miss too often with knives below level 60 for them to be worthwhile. Go with a bow.
-
It's hard to calculate exactly, but I as a very rough estimate, I'd say around 500k.

* Knight's Sword* - 12,725 exp * Elemental Workshop II - 7,500 exp * Cabin Fever - 7,000 exp * Between a Rock - 5,000 exp * Devious Minds - 6,500 exp * Hero's Quest - 3,075 exp * Giant Dwarf - 2,500 exp * Elemental Workshop I - 5,000 exp * Recipe for Disaster - 1,000 exp All the quests that give smithing exp. You could also use the lamps from One Small Favour and Recipe for Disaster on smithing, but I would not recommend it.

Those smithing companies are a rip off, you can get much better returns by selling the bars and buying the materials yourself - the only advantage to the smithing companies is that they are much faster in exchanging bars for materials. Your best bet is to buy your own materials - iron 100 each and coal 180-190 each, and sell the bars for 600 each. You make 40-50 gp more per bar by doing it yourself instead of using a company. If I were you, I would keep buying materials and selling bars until you have enough materials for 5k steel bars. Then you can smith them into steel plates and either alch those, or sell them 1k each. I got my f2p skiller to 68 smithing this way, and also made a mil. But bear in mind, this will take you a week or 2.

Just finish it, it's not too tough. I don't know for sure, but you're probably better off with a dstone bracelet than mith or addy gloves, stats wise.
-
You can get 30 in any skill in a day or 2 in just a few hours a day. But if you're only going to have 1 month of membership, you should work on nothing but agility. It will help you immensely when you go back to f2p.

When mining iron, always use the best pick you can. Fortunately, as you go along, you will mine more than enough iron to sell to cover the costs of each pick.

Teleporting with Bracelet of combat/necklace of skills
kdb148 replied to daskos99's topic in General Discussion
Skill necklace will make it much, much easier to get around on ancients. No more begging for teleothers. It eliminates a major downside to ancients. -
I doubt they'd ever do a Shilo tele, it would make normal nature crafting (using a bank) too quick and easy.
-
I would be skeptical, but Jagex seems to have eliminated bots from the crafting guild, so I'm thinking they probably got to the guy or guys responsible for farming coins through gold mining. The problem with woodcutters is that there are so many more of them, that Jagex needs a huge team of people to track them all down.

Be prepared to cough up some extra dough if you use the blast furnace, because you'll have to unnote all of your ores there, and if you end up having to solo it, it can be somewhat slow and tedious. People can also come along and buy up your ores while you unnote them. I would recommend the second option, but instead of smelting in a furnace, superheat your bars in the field. As a member, you have your pick of several choice locations for doing this. The best is probably SE of Draynor, it is almost always empty on p2p, and with 5 mith rocks and 7 coal rocks, and you can make fairly quick bank trips via glories. I have to tell you, though, you shouldn't make mith stuff until you can make plates. Anything else is a waste of time. If I were you, I would mine iron and coal and make steel plates to level 68 before switching to mith.

A couple of questions: Lunar and Salamanders
kdb148 replied to game_proffy's topic in Help and Advice
Black salamanders are pretty powerful. The herb tar is a great use for your herbs, because making the tar is very fast herblore exp. You can only attack enemies adjacent to you, I'm not sure if you can attack over or through fences. You can also train mage and strength in addition to ranged, and I hit higher training range with my black salamanders than any other weapon I've tried. Plus, they look cool. -
The iron can be bought from Drogo Dwarf, he always has some in stock. It will cost around 50 coins.

I don't understand why people think 28 uses is too few for the clay mining. Making soft clay with buckets of water is incredibly annoying, there is no fast way to do it and get a full load. This saves a ton of annoyance, and with the new teles, it will make camping in the crafting guild and making clay stuff a much faster way of levelling crafting. Not to mention, sapphires are so common, it doesn't take a long time to get a lot of them. I stockpiled over 400 sapphires in a couple of days, along with almost as many emeralds. It isn't all that difficult to get enough sapphires to make more of these bracelets than you'll ever need.

Doric's quest will take you about 5 minutes, and will get you most of the way there.
-
Except the absolute most you can sell gold bars for in bulk is 250 each. Mithril bars are better if smithing is your only concern.

They aren't slaves

Great prayer training spots are spots where people kill lots of low level monsters and don't pick up the bones. These spots are: Minotaurs in Stronghold of Security Dark Wizards near Varrock Chickens or goblins near Lumbridge I like dark wizards the best personally, because I can kill them for their rune drops - they drop every rune besides deaths, and they drop pretty frequently. I got to 37 prayer in only a few days there.
-
Fish and bank, then go to a bank near a range to cook. Switch to sharks once you get close to 99. You'll never need to buy food again.
-
You can smith 2k bars per hour easy, and only smelt about 800 ores. Mith is the way to go, you'll get more of your investment back, and level up twice as fast as with gold. Unless you're going to craft your gold bars, gold ore is a complete waste of money and time once you can make mith plates (level 68). Mith plates will sell very easily for 2.9kea, or you can simply alch them yourself. Mith plates alch for 3120.

You absolutely must do Lost City.

Autoer/macroer discussion- please post here!
kdb148 replied to jaklumen's topic in General Discussion
It's sad, because you can't cut yews or mine in the mining guild in f2p any more. Jagex says they can very easily detect macroers, so why don't they have roving mods go to the macroing hot spots and ban the macroers on site? If they actively patrolled for bots, they could get rid of all of them in less than a week. I mean, Jagex needs to face the fact that autoers cost them money. They have a huge negative impact on the f2p world, and the f2p world is what gets Jagex new members. The rune essence update was a total failure in getting rid of autoers, all it did was force them to go elsewhere. In fact, rune essence is the one place where autoers didn't affect other players. It was probably the worst thing to change in that manner. -
Definitely dagganoths. The herb seeds you get will help you recoup a significant portion of what you spent of cballs, especially if you grow them. With guthans you can stay down there until you run out of cballs, although you should still bring some swordies or monkfish, because you can get unlucky sometimes and not heal with guthans.

I was ranked about 700 in smithing, but now I'm down to 847 :\
-
First - do The Knight's Sword quest for 12,725 smithing exp - you will be over level 30 and able to smelt steel. Simply buy iron and steel, smelt steel bars, and sell the bars and you will level your smithing and make some money. Do at least 1k bars at a time, and you can easily get 600ea for th bars.
