  1. Tears of Guthix to start out with. Don't bother until you can grow something worthwhile, like ranarrs.
  2. And in my experience, fairy rings are faster than the gliders. Certainly less annoying.
  3. I use them both often. Abyss is by far faster. You have 39 runecrafting
  4. Your relatively low defense means too much praying. People who pray on every brother are wasting a lot of money. If you do it right, you shouldn't need prayer at all, though you will need 5-10 more defense levels and 20 more mage levels to really pull it off, because you MUST pray against Karil and Dharok, pretty much no matter what. Meaning you have to fight Ahrim, who can hit me fairly frequently with black dhides at 75 defense and 93 mage, without prayer. Too low defense and prayer levels means you eat all your food.
  5. I saw a young impling flying around near the chaos druid tower N of Ardy. Later, it was an essence impling.
  6. The fairy ring method isn't much slower than the abyss if you use super energy pots.
  7. I wouldn't recommend powermining. Sure, it's the fastest XP, but as a free player, I think you're going to be a little disappointed with your ability to actually get rune ores. 85 mining is worth having, to be sure, but I think you're much better off if you have something to show for it once you get it. I would recommend using mining to get some smithing and magic XP along the way by superheating mith. Since you need to mine 24k coal, that's 6k mith bars. If you don't have a lot of money for mith ores and nats now, just start out doing 100 or 200 at a time, and the whole thing will eventually fund itself. Since your smithing is pretty low, you'd probably be better off selling the bars you make, for a profit of 300-400 per bar. You would also score 180k smithing xp, and 318k mage xp along the way. And make around 2m. See, you have 80 mining but almost no cash on hand - that's what happens when you powermine. You're much better off mining things that you're actually going to put to use. Sure, it's slower xp, but it also gives you a lot more freedom to take breaks along the way to work on other skills that might also require some money to get going.
  8. This article reminded me that "Smith X" and "Smith all" options are now long, long overdue.
  9. Don't have one yet, but my first will be smithing. My second will be magic. I doubt I'll bother maxing out any stats other than those two, though there's a decent chance I'll end up maxing range if I decide to train slayer to 85 or 90, since I range my slayer assignments as often as possible. There's a slight chance I'll train runecrafting to 99. Other than those, I can't see getting another 99.
  10. Don't mine coal at your level. You'll be much better off mining iron until you can get into the mining guild. It will be faster experience and money.
  11. No, he's asking about running, not crafting. What you do is bring noted ess and coins. You unnote your ess at the general store north of Tai Bwo Wannai village. You take your 25 unnoted ess to the altar, and trade with a crafter, who will give you 50 nats in return. Then just rune back to the general store and unnote more ess. No need to bank your nats until you are finished running.
  12. Devious Minds apparently is a story line, though we've had that bow-sword thing for like a year now that still has no use.
  13. I found out how great the hunter x'bow is as soon as I got the level to hunt razorback kebbits. It hits as hard as a msb with addy arrows, AND you can wield an anti-dragon shield at the same time, which makes it ideal for ranging dragons. And with a little practice, you can track a kebbit in 30 seconds or less. It's not terrible hunter experience, either.
  14. The best you can realistically expect is 30 an hour at heroes guild, and that's if you can properly time 3 full worlds on which you always get the ores. There are far better places to mine runite - heroes guild is easily the worst.
  15. Will this finally get people to shut up about there not being any high level updates? Sadly, probably not :?
  16. Bodies will be the fastest runecrafting experience, so this is a viable option. You will also want to craft 3 earths for every body, for using curse. You will have to craft airs until level 9, but that is only 9 or 10 trips to the air altar. Don't bother with making waters, the altar is way too far from a bank to be good exp, while the body and earth altars are reasonably close. You'll start getting double earths at level 26, so this will help the number of curses you can cast significantly.
  17. It's my experience that fishing goes significantly faster in empty fishing spots.
  18. Use the Brimhaven agility arena to train to 56.
  19. Don't use silver until you get 40 crafting and can mine it in the crafting guild. Otherwise, it's too tough to get with a skiller, because while there are 5 rocks in al-Kharid, you can't get away from the scorpions.
  20. The cheapest would probably be fire bolt with chaos gauntlets, although I would recommend magic dart. You'll hit 18s, and won't have to switch spells should you get a Turoth assignment. Of course, fire strike is way cheaper than either of those, but it will take forever.
  21. Although if you do Garden of Tranquility, you get a potion that turns regular compost into supercompost. Unfortunately they only give you 4 doses, and there's no way to get more.
  22. Your best bet is to go to the druids in Taverly dungeon on a crowded world, and pick up the low level herbs that people drop. People will normally drop anything below ranarr, so you can get an inventory full of herbs fairly quickly there.
