That doesn't work. You won't 1-hit coal that much, even at high levels, but mining coal to superheat mith, addy, or rune becomes pretty decent mining experience around level 75-80.

I don't go by there all that often, but I don't recall seeing macroers at the yews by the earth altar.

hello everybody just wondering if u could tell me summut
kdb148 replied to armageddonaholic's topic in Help and Advice
Mining iron is much faster money than mining coal. -
It should be around the same time as it would take to smelt and smith the normal way. But if you're talking about smelting to sell, then it's not practical. The blast furnace is very far from a bank.

My Experience With The Strung Rabbit Foot
kdb148 replied to Dino_Da_Gino's topic in General Discussion
I like that you expermimented, but you should have been more precise with your data. "16-20 nests every 3.5-4k logs" tells us little about its effectiveness. A much better gauge would be to count the exact number of nests you get every 1k or 2k logs, both with and without the rabbit's foot. That way, you'll notice a difference, although you would have to cut a LOT of logs for it to become evident. But in any case, it doesn't hurt to wear it, so why not wear it? Although I realy wish Jagex would tell us how much the rabbi's foot, RoW, gloves of silence, and other gear actually helps. -
Highest Rank Player without a 99 skill?
kdb148 replied to Mordendravid's topic in General Discussion
No, it wouldn't. You would probably have to do a LOT of cannoning to avoid getting 99 HP, but I think it can be done. -
Everyone who posted here that they know someone who was banned for this - no you don't. I'm sure those people did something stupid, got banned, and then made up this as the reason so they didn't have to admit to breaking the rules. Just because someone says they were banned unfairly doesn't mean they actually were.

It's definitely not 3 seconds per cast. That's the max speed of alching, and teleing is significantly faster than alching.

I just did this, it took me about 3 hours, maybe a bit longer, although I was walking for most of the time.

Screw ranarrs, that will take too long. What you want to do is buy equal amounts of irits and kwuarm. On world 2, you can get plenty of irits for 1kea. Kwuarms may be a little tougher, but you shouldn't have too much trouble finding them 4kea. Buy eye of newt 200ea, limps 800ea, wfv 300ea. The point is, you can sell super attack/str sets for 7kea very easily - because there are so many pures with no defense, they often go faster than super sets. The prices above might not be accurate as far as the herbs go, but as long as you keep your costs at 7k or lower per set, you will break even. I've bought irits 1kea before and gotten them fast, so I'm sure you can do that. You could pay 1k for limps and 4.5k for kwuarm, and still make out fine. To get to 45, do Eadgar's ruse, and other quests with exp lamps if you haven't already.

A Guide to collecting Herblore 2nds (Draft Complete)
kdb148 replied to chenw's topic in General Guides
I don't know if you're taking suggestions, but I have a couple. First, for white berries - you can canoe into the wilderness to level 35, and it's not too far a walk from there to the whiteberry spawns. It provides a good alternative to farming, and for people who haven't done the quests required for elf teleport crystals. Simply canoe to level 35, collect, run down to level 30, glory to Edge, and repeat. Energy pots are useful to ensure you can run the whole time you are in the wildy. An antifire shield is a good precaution, in the off-chance a red dragon attacks you. For eye of newt, I often just run from the fally west bank to taverly herblore shop through the shortcut, tele back to fally, bank, repeat. Running from draynor to Betty's, buy, glory back to Draynor, bank repeat is another quick method. -
If you are going to run laws on world 66, do yourself a big favor and do the Troll Stronghold quest. Then you can use your talisman to enter the altar, and you will get traded immediately every time. And the crafters will love you.

Mine happened just a few days ago. I don't pk much, and when I do, it's usually a disaster. So I went out with my mage gear, and found some skulled guy. I attacked him, and it was going well, he only had a red dhide top and rune legs on, so I was hitting him pretty hard, he ate about 10 times to my 2. Then I ran out of entangle runes and died. It wasn't losing the stuff that ticked me off, it was the fact that I was finally going to successfully pk someone, and i ended up dying because i ran out of runes!

Sure, use those methods if you want it to take forever. For smithing, buy gold ore and smelt with goldsmithing gauntlets. For crafting, make your newly smelted gold bars into amulets. For the rest of your needed exp, buy cowhides and make coifs. For thieving, thieve the master farmers in either Draynor or Ardougne. For agility, the arena is probably best. Since the levels you need are not too far off, these things should not cost you all that much money.

It's quite easy to get several good ice bursts in even on good PC worlds.
-
Er, lame excuse to post getting 90 thieving?

Never make nats walking back and forth from Shilo, it's far and away the slowest method.
-
The kite is far and away the most useful, that's why it's worth the most.

Mith plates alch for more than 2.9k.. Right, but unless you craft your own nats, your nat will cost you over 300 gp, so you actually make more profit by selling the plates than by buying nats and alching them. Free players are willing to lose 100 or so gp per alch in order to get mage exp, because there are very few things available in large quantities for them to alch. Depending on whether or not you want mage experience or to take the time to craft nats, it might be more worthwhile to sell them to free players. Free players will often buy anything alchable for 200 gp below its alch value - steel plates for 1k and mith plates for 2.9k are the most common purchases.
-
Of all the good cannoning spots, dagannoths are by far the best, as you will get tons of herb seeds. Bring guthan's so you can stay down there as long as your cballs last.
-
Make mith plates and then either alch them or sell them. Free players, what with their very limited supply of stuff to alch, will happily buy mith plates for 2.9k.
-
That's not true, an anti-fire pot has the same effect as using an anti-fire shield with no pot.
-
Chinchompas or ancients at pest control are the fastest ways to get hp exp. Use all of your points on hp.
-
I've only ever used reds. I think you'll have a harder time finding regulars because people don't hunt them as much. Just bite the bullet and buy reds, it's money well spent.
