Anyway to protect against DDS?
Any armour will, to a degree, negate the damage done by a DDS. Just donning a simple Steel Plate and legs should make it much less likely that they'll hit you. Tell her to search for clothes/armour which have a high slash defense bonus, and take anti-poisons with her on Treasure Trails.

Spicy stew and cons?
Serisouly don't even bother, I tried using the Spicy Stew technique to try and get my Guilded Altar at level 68ish with a Crystal Saw and level 2 teacups, but it really isn't worth the effort. All in all I must have tried about 15 stews to try and get just a +2 Construction level, but the best I managed was +1. I found it was a hell of a lot quicker to just get to 70 Construction to get the Guilded Altar. If you still want to try this mad and random method, you have to drink stew with Orange spice in it, and only Orange spice, no others. A quick tip on Construction leveling; build a second floor with just a skill/quest hall for stairs, and a kitchen with the larder closest to the hall. Then tell your Butler to retrieve planks/wood and run up the stairs. That way the butler will always spawn upstairs when bringing you your planks to make, meaning you don't have to move, ever!! I went up from like level 30ish to level 70 in about 2/3 days doing this (although the demon butler did cost a bit)

Do we need a new membership option? Hourly ...
That would be the perfect solution. I would honestly start playing Runescape properly again if I could pay for just the days I play, as I hate knowing that I've paid for 30 days but can barely play at all due to getting home so late from work..

Some questions on p2p.
Concerning your question on Magic, I would have to say that the Enchantment area in the Mage Training Arena could get you some amazing Xp for not that much money. Read up on a guide on the MTA in the player-made guides section of this forum for more detailed information, if you so choose to go down that route. Alchemy is pretty slow Xp, but if you link it in with Fletching then you could find yourself breaking-even if you're lucky, meaning cheapish Xp.

5 fast crafting lvls?
I was stingy and didn't want to pay over-inflated forum/trade world prices when I went to 70 Crafting in F2p. Instead I just hopped from world to world in Al-Kharid bank buying out smaller amounts. Took a lot less time than I thought it would too, especially compared with trying to buy leather at that price on the forums.

Do you ever use the"Self Sufficient" methods??
I get all my own Dragonhides and Dragon Bones, and everything I mine gets smithed, turned into Mithril plates and high alched... apart from that I can't really think of anything else I don't either sell or buy..

Need advice for my PARTY!
Wow.. I feel like I've watched you grow up on these forums lol. I remember ages ago when you first started posting and were asking loads of questions on Magic for your Magic Shad3 account. How time flies... Speaking of time, if you plan to have the party on a saturday, then why would you do it at 11pm GMT? No one will be at school so you could get away with doing it at around 5/6pm GMT (which is like 12/1pm EST I think). You'd get more people that way.
-
how much magic logs can i get?
If you're doing it purely for the money then cutting Yews in the Gnome Stronghold would probably get you a greater profit considering how rare Magic Trees are, how long they take to cut and also to respawn.

best place to kill flesh crawlers
I know you've only got 1 Defense, but wouldn't it still be better to equip full Iron armour, rather than Monks robes? And if you're really looking to maximise your Xp per hour you might want to take a couple of Strength potions down there.

The New Year Update
Sounds like some damn good marketing from Jagex. Look at how many people are drooling just thinking about what could be 'over the horizon' in the new year. I'm sure there are lots of players who might be planning on getting membership for the next couple of months just to bolster their current stats in anticipation of possibly a new skill in January. They could have just kept it all quiet until January Behind the Scenes, but apparently Jagex are 'so happy' they'll trickle information through the next few weeks. Believe me, Jagex will see a sharp jump income increase through November and December because of their 'excitment'. Clever people.
-
If you could take it back, would you?
Yes, I would love to do something else for these last couple of years than to plough hours into an online game to get quite slow, and usually very boring Xp.

There's a hole in my pocket, and it lead to jagex
College students drink beer??? College students can be alot older than 21???????!!! Drinking age in England is (more sensibly to be honest) 18, and college here is usually for when you're 16-18 years old. Anyway, I've just started a job in accountancy getting ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã7.50 ($15ish) per hour which is... I think an okay rate for an 18 year old, but overall it's pretty low paid. My point is that I have barely any free time to play games and although I would earn enough for membership in less than half an hour working, it's still ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã3.50 spent on something I'm barely ever going to play, which is why I decieded to go f2p and play in tiny dosses a week when bored to death. If you're struggling in other areas because of Runescape, common sense would simply say that's stupid. :| It is just a game, no matter how much you enjoy it, all these hours you might be putting in to get Xp will all be most likely erased in a few years when Runescape comes to an end..
-
omg jagex, are you ot of your mind?????
You sound like a bit of a nutter from that evidence to be honest. Your method of dealing with the guy was pretty stupid and you sound like you think you're God by dishing out your 'reporting punishment' at the slightest provocation. Try and let things go in the future a little.. :|
-
With what games you mixing RuneScape ?
I barely play any games anymore since getting a new job, let alone Runescape, although I do still love to play a few matches of Pro Evolution 6 (because Pro Evo 2008 is rubbish apparently) with friends and food. :P Having said that, I dug out my old N64 a few days ago to play through Zelda: Majora's Mask again.. ah, memories..

Lightning Clan Chat - Perhaps it's time to move on?
Time to move on? I don't think Tip.it's 'main' and most used chat should have ever been under Lightning's account. She has quit, and it's stupid to have the responsiblity for moderating it if you can't be there like a regular player. To be perfectly honest, there will always be spamming and a large base of idiots on any large Clan Chat. If you want somewhere nice to go then you're just going to have to join one of the smaller Clan Chats. :|

New scam throug the Personal Messages! (Easy to fail)
Well how are you meant to know if there isn't an even newer version out? I don't think that logic is very safe, and instead I do honestly feel the best and most simple advice comes from my quote of Debo Rock: ... "Never click a link through another site to install software. If you download Adobe Flash Player, make sure you download it from Adobe's website by going there, not just clicking a link."

New scam throug the Personal Messages! (Easy to fail)
This scam does seem to be the popular thing among scammers recently. Some advice can be taken from the words of caution from the owner of the Runescape Stats Tracking and Progress Chart site http://www.runemonkey.net/ in which 'Debo Rock' warns users;

Looking Back on Skill Capes, A whole Year Ago
Exactly. The introduction of Skill Capes have created a wave of 15 year olds desperate to gain respect from others by Cooking for a few weeks or whatever skill they're going for. I hate Skill Capes, and rue the day they came out. You should get a 99 skill if you actually enjoy the skill enough to train it that far, and not, to just show off by ploughing hundreds of hours into a skill you hate. Kids these days.. :|
-
Personality?
I'm a heck of a lot less tolerant in Runescape than in real life. Not many children seem to want to piss of an 18 year old irl, but unfortunatly having the safety of being on the internet gives kids some kind of self-righteous arrogance and belief that they can do what they want. :|

Repercussions of Shop Update on Global Economy
[hide=killerred005] The player stock is 99% of the time empty because nobody sells to the stores. The bots will get around 100 runes per day.. Which won't do anything.. :wall: You are perhaps forgetting the Lumbridge Tutors who give out 30 free air runes and 30 free mind runes per half hour. That should help the average low level. If they want to use bolt spells, it won't be much of a difference. The chaos runes are the same price as the street price before. Nothing is a necessity in RuneScape. If they buy runes and sell for a profit, that was never in spirit of the game. Low leveled players have a low amount of experience between skills so they won't need as much. A level 1 magician will go a long way with 30 air strikes. (Talking about the Lumbridge Magic Tutor) If they want to move onto chaos runes, the price isn't that much different than the street prices of before. In fact, it's easier for them to buy them. Nobody would buy them if they raised the prices higher than the shop price. In fact, it would be much cheaper and simpler to buy in the shop. One word: RuneCrafters. RuneCrafters will find a substantial profit by selling runes. The buyers will find a cheaper price from buying from these RuneCrafters. People will just sell for less than 20gp each. Before the shop upgrade, people found it difficult to sell it for over 15 gp each.. [/hide] Woah.. way to go mate. Nice to see you checking other replies in the thread before you make post. It might may have been an idea to read my post before making yours as it looks like you pretty much copied everything I said. But hey, ignorance is bliss.

Repercussions of Shop Update on Global Economy
Just want to point out a few assumptions you made in the concluding paragraph before I go out. Once I'm back I'll look onto the main body of your post too. "GENERAL GLOBAL increase in COST OF VIRTUAL LIVING" Define 'Virtual Living'. Nothing is a necessity in Runescape, so I don't see how 'living' can come into this at all. "Genuine low lvl players buying runes and reselling for a profit lose out" Good. This was never in the spirit of the game. There should be no problem with this. "Autobots are not removed from the market, rather they have increased the price for everyone and still profit, perhaps even more." This makes no sense. I assume you meant to say something else. There are no longer 'merchanting bots' buying out runes at low prices and then re-selling, they are no longer an impact in the game in this respect. "Low lvl players will find it hard to buy supplies in bulk for a good price" Not really. If I may take the example of the new prices of Runes; I used to sell my Air Runes made from W16 for 20gp each (I sold over 600k airs at this price) and now there is no way I will ever be able to sell airs for above 16gp each because the shop price is now set at 17gp per elemental rune. This means that lower level players will find it easier to buy runes for a lower price compared to before. This may not be the case with Arrows, but you can't make a generalisation that low level players will find it hard to buy supplies for a good price. "Extremely rich players won't even buy from players now, seeing as you can buy 'x' runes from the runeshop, why would you even bother wasting time trying to find a seller." It's not like people will stop Runecrafting. There will always be a supply of Runes, and there will always be players (even high-levels) who would prefer to spend maybe 20 minutes searching for a seller just to save a few hundred thousand gp. "why would someone buy from you, when they can do all that in one click for 17gp?" Because you would sell your product for a lower price. Not too difficult to figure out.. I would like to add that in my view, if Merchanting was a skill, then it would be one already.

New Update - What some have failed to see
Is that a typo, or do you simply not understand economics? :-s Edit: someone else has already beat me to pointing it out. Prices will fall if each player has less disposable income. However as another poster has already pointed out players will more likely buy skilled items from players who will be under-cutting shops. For example now that the infinite stock of Air Runes is now set at 17gp each, Air crafters will have to Airs for at the most 16gp each.

1 October 2007 - Behind the Scenes - October
Where are you getting the idea that there will now be a "buy x" option at stores. If this was in one of the articles released by jagex then i'm sorry but please do quote it for me. No one has hinted towards a "buy-x" option in shops, and I personally very much doubt this will be added. It is however still much faster to rapidly click "buy-10 Death Runes" than it is to make them, I don't think anyone can deny that. 12Pure34 explained it perfectly well in the concluding paragraph on how player rune prices will never reach the shop price as I said. I think I might just make a topic on this whole price debate just so people know where the information is.

01-Oct-2007: Development Diary-Content team + KDB Wallpaper
What is that in the KBD's mouth..? Looks like a huge guantlet or something.. :-s An unlimited stock of Vials in Ardougne would be great! :

1 October 2007 - Behind the Scenes - October
What the heck are you on about... Re-read it yourself. Why would any Nature Runecrafter in their right mind sell their product for a price equal to or higher than the price in a shop. Unless they wanted to not make any sales it would be silly to almost compete with a shop in which prices do not change. Surely the aim of the Nature Runecrafter is to actually sell the nature runes, which would in turn mean that they would sell them for at least slightly less than the shop price. It could be that Jagex are trying to phase out people buying their runes from shops (ala bots) and instead rely on what was probably intended when making the game - the Runecrafter. You must see that it is not fair on the Lumberjack if there was, say, a shop which sold Logs at reasonable prices because it would mean Fletchers wouldn't bother buying their logs from the Lumberjacks, and instead choose to use the shop. If Jagex this is Jagex's intention then it shows that they are trying to make the Runescape economy more like the real-world economy, where we do not have shops in real life with a magical stock which somehow has the product without anyone actually producing it.
