Contrary to the answer above, an attact from a Revenant takes priority over any other NPC attacking you, even in Single-Combat zones. I died with a full load of Rune Ore just 20 minutes ago because of this..

In the news post about balancing Summoning, Jagex claim that Summoning is profitable through the benifits you'd gain when using some of the Familiars. :| Personally I don't really like that explanation on how it will make me money as it's too indirect to ever be measurable. How's the training going for you? :P

I think the fact that Jagex have needed to clarify the whole concept of Summoning shows that Wolf Whistle & the Knowledge Base failed to achieve their goals. I'm really interested in knowing how this will actually be done. Does anyone know if Jagex have ever done something like this before? I reckon anyone who has bought shards before this price update will be able to go to any of the Summoning Shops and the NPC will then ask you which option you'd like, but I guess we'll just have to wait to see how it's done. :P

If the skill and it's prices aren't changed in the coming weeks/months, then I've heard the absolute minimum for 99 is 200m, but more realisticly 250m+.

Wow they wernt kiding wheb they said this was gonna be expensive and slow to train...so making a dread foul scroll only gives you 3exp? :-k Not quite. As I said, making 10 Dreadfoul scrolls will give you 0.1xp, no idea where you got 3 from.

All the things you mentioned give you Xp. For instance for every *cough* 10 Dreadfoul Scrolls you make you get 0.1xp, and for using that Scroll (1) you get 0.1xp and 0.1xp for Summoning a Dreadfoul. As said above, the real meat of the xp comes from making the pouches, again using a Dreadfoul you get 9.3xp for each one.

Have you actually tried reading the guide for it? Everything is explained pretty well in it.. The feather comes from the bird you must read a story to, and the helmet from Rupert after rescuing him. The guide.

Surpised to see this question coming from such an old player. :) Make sure you've completed Wolf Whistle first. There are 3 Summoning Shops in Runescape right now, all of them are tied to the Summoning recharge Obelisks. Your best bet for a close shop to a bank would be either Taverly Summoning Shop (Pickupstix quest start point, just trade him), or slightly closer to a bank is Gu'Tanoth Summoning Shop which can be found just before the gates to Gu'Tanoth. :wink:

Try feeding it some Raw Meat. :)

I killed a few Red Spiders in the Wilderness while getting some Rune ore and got a couple of Gold Charms.

What weapon do you plan on using? It can make quite a big difference depending on what it is.. By the way, you'd be more likely to get more responses if you made your title more specific. An experienced ranger could be browsing this sub-forum and overlook this because he thinks it's nothing to do with Ranging, for example. :wink:

Hehe, well how did you get your Agility to level 69? You can take Energy Pots if you really want to speed it up, but the food you need to take should be Cakes to heal you in small amounts when your Hp is under 20.

It's just one level mate. You would be saving hours of hassle in the long run if you just grit your teeth and stayed at Ape Atoll for a couple of hours..
