What are our plans for the global recession? I WANT ANSWERS!
  2. You are a good person. I also approve of your avatar.
  3. Ah yes. And some people got really offended and quit Tipit because mods are meanies. Hah lol. Serious? Yeah. Some people got all angry at being made to look stupid in their posts. There was a huge list of changes in the censor, mostly related to Runescape.(changing skill names eg; Runecrafting/r00ncraftin - Cooking/Burning (might have just made that up now, can't really remember) and many more words which my mind has chosen not to remember..)

Why did you just randomly bump this thread... Because we have not seen this quest yet! Personally, I think they were waiting for no BTS, that way the surprise of not knowing what the quest will be adds to the thrill of release. "Hopefully" it will be worth the anticipation. I agree. It does seem slightly suspicious that they axed the 'Behind the Scenes' feature just as we were expecting to hear some news on it. Personally, being left in the dark about what's coming makes me feel uneasy. The thought of being so ill-prepared and confused on the day of the release of (hopefully) the biggest and hardest quest to date leaves me feeling like I should be checking over my shoulder every few minutes.. :?
  5. Here here. Congratulations to Corruption on the win, as well as joining forces with rival clans to rid the field of crashers. There's nothing like a good, clean and above all humble fight to reflect nicely on both Tip.it and Corruption. Once again, thank you, Corr, for the opportunity to battle you all. :)
  6. Er.. no. Remember, this is a G-rated forum, and we really can't have a link like that around here. Let's try and keep tip.it above the scum line.. :| Link removed.
  7. Locked on request. Not really sure exactly what this thread was about as the original post has been edited, so any comment I make regarding blogs will most likely be inaplicable..
  8. Just some confirmation on respawn times and worlds: Dissapointed with this distraction and diversion. Without the ability to forsee an approximate time on when the tree will respawn and where (like the telescore in Shooting Stars) I feel as though the Evil Tree will fall into obscuirity. They should have been much more clear about the information on the knowledge base regarding it. I've seen countless people waiting at varirous Spirit Tree spots for 2 hours+ not knowing the mechanics of how it works.
  9. Great update, love the price checker. I've always wondered how much my bank was worth, now I can finally find out :D All this time I thought I was dirt poor, turns out I must have aboout 32m in total  While I was checking my bank worth I noticed all the little freaks were going more crazy than normal, then I realised it was because everyone was getting excited about another System Update #-o
  10. Haha, alright; your opening argument just clicked in my head. You think Adrenal's picture of Muslims is representative of what the majority of Muslims are like? Hopefully not. The Westbro Baptist Church representative of what the majority of Christians are like? Unlikely. The Israeli Defence Force being representative of what the majority of Jews believe should be done? Obviously not. Westbro do not deviate from the teachings of mainstream 'Christianity' anywhere near as much as your example of Islam. The are akin to extreamist Protestants, that does not mean they are not Christians. I feel as though they have every right to claim they are Christian, based on what they believe. I chose pictures of extreamists for a reason. The argument of 'how Christian' they are is the same argument I am using against Adrenal's picture.
  11. [/hide] I don't understand why you took the time to write so much stuff. The whole point of Christianity is following the word of Christ. Saying "God is the enemy" goes against everything Christianity stands for. You're grasping for straws here. And I don't understand why you can't seem to get the underlying concept of this whole topic: interpretation. The word of Christ is clearly equivocal and open to interpretation. If you say that it is clear and unequivocal, why, then, are there so many demoninations of Christianty if you're all reading from the same book? Saying "God is your (USA) enemy" goes against your interpretation of what Christianity stands for, not theirs. And by the way, just so there's no doubt; I am neither theist nor atheist, but instead a very apathetic agnostic (if it must be defined..) I am in no way agreeing with what the Westbro Baptist Church say, I personally think they're a bunch of disillusioned idiots bent on rebelion. I am a firm believer though, that "Religion is the opiate of the masses" and as much as I despise it, I understand that it is needed. You clearly have not bothered to research the organisation in question and look into the reasoning behind their actions, and until you do I am not going to waste any further time on this redundant discussion with you. Look into the issue and then get back to me. Or don't; I don't care.
  12. I think someone misunderstands Christianity.... Westbro Baptist Church - Self proclaimed protestants. Protestantism = off-shoot of early christianity. What's your point? Their church is a Christian denomination, as is Catholicism, Protestantism (sub-Baptism), Anglicanism, Orthadox, etc etc. insert jealous and power hungry man's opium for the people here. Christians do not announce God is Your Enemy. My point? That goes against everything what Christ supposedly said. They are Christians. They just did. And they justify their actions based on the Bible - 'God's word'. On a serious note though, I still don't understand your original statement. Maybe be a little more straightforeward and clear in what you mean: If you were implying that I misunderstood what counts as 'Christian' by showing that picture of seemingly aggressive protesters, then clearly your view is misplaced as I know exactly who that group are and what that is a church of. If, however, you were implying that the Westbro Baptist Church misunderstand what it is to be 'Christian', then I simply suggest that you research who they are and what they believe. You should find that their views come straight from their own specific interpretation of Bible scriptures, and hold themselves to be the only 'true' Christians. Bear in mind the reasoning behind why I chose the pictures that I did, before replying saying 'So why did you post pictures of a group you knew to be extrreamists as the Christian example?'

  15. And in the interest of balance, and stopping sensational pictures and stupid captions like yours from influencing the lazy, here are a few of pictures of the "average" Christian and Jew. [hide=The "Average" Christian][/hide] [hide=The "Average" Jew][/hide] Do not make general assumptions on a group of people based on a picture. A picture shows exactly what it shows, nothing more, nothing less. My first picture is not of an "average" Christian, but of a group of disillusioned, radical and intentionally provocative members of the Westbro Baptist Church in America. The other three pictures are of the The Israel "Defense" Forces, backed by the USA, fighting Muslim Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and carrying out bombing runs almost without any prejudice as to who they hit. These pictures depict nothing more than what you actually see in the picture. Just as your picture gives no indication as to the "average" Muslim, but instead shows a group of radical, brainwashed and mislead Muslims on a protest in London in 2006. As this topic seems to have an underlying theme of interpretation, I really expected more from you, Adrenal. :|
  16. The Problem with Interpretation & Religion Anything can be interpreted in any way. This is one of the biggest problems that I find with religion; the 'holy' books that so many people base their lives on are written by dead men, translated into 'X' language for the purpose of convenience, and then interpreted to the masses by 'X' current holy leader (be it priest, rabbi, imam etc) who he himself will have 'X' views on what is right and wrong. There are so many opportunities for deviation from what was actually intended at the time of writing. You read what you want to read. One man may read that the Bible clearly implies that God is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Another man may take a more literal reading of the Bible and would be able to shake the very grounds of modern christianity, simply by asking where in the Bible it expressesly claims the existence of the Holy Trinity. I could read a passage in the Qur'an as an express statement specifically allowing me to take violent action against an infidel, while another man reads that same passage as something similar to what raven_gaurd0. My interpretation does not mean that the Qur'an incites violence. It simply means that my interpretation of that passage in the Qur'an incites violence. I don't see why people can't understand this. In my opinion, JIM hit the nail on the head here. Any bloodshed or violent acts caused in the name of Islam is matched with acts from Christianity, Judaism, Sikhism etc. Quick look at how interpretation affects the law (quite academic, skip if you don't want to deviate from this topic) Bear in mind, that earlier this afternoon I had a Public Law lecture on 'Freedom of Expression' and the issues surronding it, so this is very fresh in my mind. (5 months into the Public Law part of my Law degree. LLB) As the famous quote says: "One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter" Who are the 'terrorists' here, and who are simply 'freedom fighters': Nelson Mandela? Tony Blair? Osama Bin Ladin? George Bush? Saddam Hussain? Is it really as clear cut as you think? On the issue of interpretation; in my lecture today, we were told to read through an article written by the Archbishop of York, Jonh Sentamu regarding bringing an end to Robert Mugabe's regime. What seems like an article calling for a much needed end to a corrupt and disgusting system of 'democracy' in Zimbabwe was shown by the lecturer as fulfilling all the necassery criteria to be prosecuted under the 'Terrorism Act 2000', thus making the Archbishop of York a terrorist. It is clear that he is in no danger whatsoever of being prosecuted, however, due to (among other things) public policy. The same kind of public policy which succeeded in restricting access to the UK for Geert Wilders, the Dutch maker of an "Anti-Islamic" film claiming that it clearly incites violence. On this topic, and general misunderstandings Islam does not promote violence. Certain interpretations of the Qur'an may promote violence to the individual that reads it as if a self-fulfilling prophecy by the reader. It frustrates me how easily people can be mislead, especially in huge nations like China & USA (over-reactive media, poor network reporting, government misinformation etc). It sickens me that sensational media reporting and corrupt government policies cause people to actually question whether or not an age-old religion such as this actually promotes violence, while not even looking in on your own nation's actions. ****Although it will as ever go unheeded, I still cannot stress this enough; Do not form a strong opinion on something unless you feel you are properly and well informed. Do not rely on the mass media to form your views on particular issues. If you are interested in a particular area of life I stronlgy advise you to simply research it before coming to an assumption. If you have no interest in a particular area then try to stay neutral and uninfluenced by those around you until you can atleast have a balanced view.**** (Apologies for the weak structure and links; I'm writting this in the middle of a coursework so a little off-focus) #-o
  17. Just to let you know; That spot to make Skeletal Wyverns un-aggressive is still active. Jagex haven't removed or changed it, so it's still possible to stand there for 20 minutes before fighting them so you can go straight to the safespots. I look forward to when another book is added to this very useful 'misunderstood' shelf. :)
  18. Great guide. Has already been of use getting me to 50 something. Now, after months without training, it's time to get that Bunyip! :P Cheers
  19. I know you love your brash and tactless comments, but you've really outdone yourself here. Your comment says more about your naive and elitist nature than anything about Mark Gerhard. As Bauke says; Mark is the CEO. It looks like he'll take no part in content development, so your "worries" are for nothing. To be frank, if you had even read the answers he gave you should have stumbled upon the question regarding game content: In fact, your last point regarding the answers being solely about himself was also answered in his opening statement: But I guess that was too much for you. :-s

No, not really. Usually just one or two days each year around the end of January. We all panic. The transport links turn chaotic, schools close, and it adds an extra couple of hours on a normal journey to work. We like to have what little fun we can with the limited amount of snow we get. :) Real life example; I got this e-mail from my Uni this evening.. This was after less than a day of snow, with about an inch of snow slowly melting outside right now.
