I think a lot of it may have to do with lending. Let's say you finally get your party hat and want to show it off, and head to the nearest bank to do so. You're greeted with one of two messages: 1. "Can i barrow ur phat (insert your combat level here)???????///" 2. "U nub u dont own it u brrwd it." Your feeling of accomplishment is destroyed. I'm sorry, but they started crashing waaay before item lending came out. (when Pking got removed and GE introduced).

:-) True, but some things, like this one, can be looked up very easily whereas "should I use guthans or bunyip" can't be looked up that easily.

Whether it is overpriced on the GE or not, a phat just isn't worth it anymore. It's useless only for looks and it's peak was during 2005-2007, now it's just something to look nice. Nobody wants to pay a few hundred million for a worthless thing. So what was it in 2005-2007, not a worthless thing? ... Basicly, the trust in Phats ever going up has declined, so people don't buy them anymore as investments. However, this trend can change again, so better follow them carefully.

Using spirit kyatt and banking in Cwars , I was able to mine 750 iron ores/49 minutes(timer for kyatt).Unless using BOB's mining that amount of iron ores seems a bit weird. He's talking about pure ess. on topic: Compfreak advice is juset what I wanted to say, and what I'm dong right now. Seriously, do the quest for Bork and MTK, they are ESSENTIAL. You dont need to do all quests, but some will really help you a lot in the long run. But you are too stubborn, arent you. I think that's a decent amount of kills for your lvl. Never solo'd it myself (well, with safespot), so I wouldnt exactly know. Btw, which familiar yoru using?

Only raise your approval once every week, and cash in like every month. That's how I do it. This way it doesnt interrupt with anything. You can use upto 75k a day, and with swordies etc you make 3x that cash, so it's probably like 75-150k a day.

I disagree completely with that. Calling the familiars is terrible, you have to do it so much and it isnt effective at all until you get to iron/steel titans for their specs (believe me I have already gone through all them). Using guthans frequently means that you won't be wearing black mask (loss in speed of your kills) and you won't be using a whip (more loss in speed). It is very effective using a bunyip because the speed of your task increases a ton, as does you exp per hour in combat and slayer. Erm, I disagree with that too. Read the sentence above it.

Ive personally never needed a DFS on any slayer task. Mostly a bunyip and rune defender is perfectly fine. Only tasks they could be handy, are dragons, but those are rare, and skipped by many people. Hellhounds and Nechryaels, those two tasks you can not survive on only a bunyip + defender. It is also good for Gargoyles as they can hit high aswell. With verac skirt, guthan platebody, slayer helm, rune defender, whip, fury, dragon boots, fire cape, bunyip, I DO survive at hellhounds. (85-90 def, using super set, so yes, a super defence too, even though I think i can survive without a super def too). And if somehow you still cant survive, bring like 5-10 tunas. They are dirt cheap, and you dont need space for drops there anyway (hell hounds). Same goes for Nechs (however, if you somehow dont survive there, the tunas might be irritating cause they take places. On the other hand, Nechs do drop some tunas themselves every now and then).

You get 350% xp if you bank it. You could also sell 5 bones and altar 2. You'd get same xp as burying, except you also get money from selling the bones :geek: Listen to this guy. I find it funny how you find it too big of a hassle to bank expensive 2k dragon bones, yet you bank those worthless 500gp big bones.

Ray, you are asking questions, you get 2 very decent responses (Compfreak and Kent), yet you ignore them. The only reason where I can see why you disagree with Kent is on: 10 percent prayer (bit of a hassle to bring pray pots all the time and people forget that to really end up with equal cash, you have to do rcing or whatever in the time you've saved, which I personally dont, so if you're low on cash, dont do this one). Use a combat familiar and guthan in stead of bunyip. Small xp difference for a lot of hassle (using guthan, calling familiar), especially if you cant use geyser titan (or higher yet. So my advice Apperantly, you are really low on cash, so sell the guthan. Buy a verac skirt, the prayer bonus is handy Use a dds! (your personaly experience is bleep) Get 68 summoning asap (through the charms you get from slayer) Do every 10th task at duradel. The pts are handy. Get a black mask, if not, stop slaying. Dont be so stubborn Do MM if you really want to train str while slayering. (However, better dont be so stubborn and use whip on controlled). That's it. You're probably gonna ignore them cause you dont wanna use "a bloody dds and train with whip on controlled", but hey, I've tried... ps: the dds is actually a detail, I just wanted to point out that it really *is* the best special weapon (for xp), maybe next to sgs (healing + prayer).

why cant you wear verac without a bunyip? I know what you'll say: you'll need the guthan too much then. But trust me, with verac and yip, you'll still need to brew and pray too. Guthans is definitly recommended if you want to do a decent trip, none of this 1 hour trip bs. With guthans and bunyips you should be able to do 3 hour trips once you get used to healing and potting at the right times. Once you get to titans then it is a little bit different because they heal a lot more (12 hp per minute vs 8 for bunyip which adds up). That's what I thought. I went verac and unicorn, and I still had to leave cause of healing issues. With guthan and SGS, I think I should be able to stay down there forever. Without prayer.

I dont think its really worth it. However, it's good if you are a bit impatient and want as many kills as fast as possible. But I use it anyways :D

At 94 ranged I'm getting 255 xp per red chin (using 15 percent pray, void, range pots etc...). Let say for 80-99 you can get an average of 230 xp per chin. (80-90 will be more like 200xp per chin, but thats only 3M xp compared to the 8M more you need for 90-99). Thus: 11M/230 = ... Then count in pray pots. For me, pray pots are around 1/7th of the chin cost. So add 1/7th to that.

That's completely wrong. bandos is much more profitable for the simple fact that it's almost 100% profit(except for the tank) especially if you have even at least 68 summoning. I take 26 brews and 10 super rests on each arma trip(each of which gets less kills than a bandos trip with a few ponies and monks), and then you have to add in the bolts as well. The ONLY time that arma is more profit is if you get a hilt(or I suppose that you could compare a helm to boots), because bandos armour is worth more. Bandos is crowded as hell though, and you're much more likely to run into idiots while there, so I personally preferr arma, but bandos is definately more profitable. [/hide] What about if you have a Unicorn? And this is why I always ask for confirmation. Isnt it better to take a unicorn to armadyl? I do, and what I posted is from personal experience.

I'm guessing that you had terrible luck, because I went with guthans and ponies and I never had to use guthans or pray until I ran out of antipoisons...I seriously doubt that that extra bit of range defense(and less magic) made that much of a difference. Hmm, I'll try again next time, hopefully with better results. Although, speaking of luck, 1 zerker and 1 axe solo isnt too bad, is it \ Btw, which shield do you use?

It's still very possible to take a mage down wearing even that if you use a Godsword and some good dragonhide. Besides, you've then destroyed the advantage rangers should have over mages. No, we should reinforce the original plan (http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewarticle.ws?article_id=1702) for the combat triangle, make it near impossible to get into close combat with a skilled mage. Jagex has forgotten that what defines the corners of the triangle is not the armour/robes, but the weapons. Negate the weapons, negate the combat style. Once we get rid of the threat meleers pose against mages, using either my suggestion or another with the same result, there would be no need to alter the stats for dragonhide, only rangers would ever use it because that's the only style it would ever be useful for. Magers can fend of melee'ers good enough IMO. Being barraged is annoying enough as a meleeer. What magic needs IMO is: Some robes with very high melee def, no ranged def (to not "overpower"), good mage attack (but worse than ahrim) and negative melee and ranged attack (so it doesnt get "abused" by other forms, like dragonhide). KO power.

I disagree with the part on ranging. Ranging can also do KO hits, and does have whiplike weapons (= good, cheap training weapons). In fact, there are much more and advanced ways of training ranged (expensive and uber fast, or cheap and slower) than training melee.

*Supposed* If everyone is saying something is not *supposed* to be, cause it never been like that before, then nothing is every going to change. Magic robes arent supposed to have high def in the old system, where magic on its own is pretty underpowered. There needs to be change.
