Timing your eating, specs and blitzes/vengeance on PvP
bedman replied to bedman's topic in Help and Advice
Nope, no loss of round when helms are used. It's their unique advantage. And for jad, if you go with a 99 veng (after sara brewed HP) and triple 45 from g maul and use miasmic barrage (possible if you use a macro for your dd++ spec), you can get: 32-45-45-45-74-10 = 251 damage, 1 hit KO. The_murder21, are you listening? Lol, was also thinking about The_murder21. If anyone would pull it off, it's him. Man, if he really succeeds... You'd need A LOT of luck though. (4 hits of you have to be max, and Jad has to max too + good timing). -
Timing your eating, specs and blitzes/vengeance on PvP

Okay, about the monks, I wasnt referring to them in particular, just any food in general. But I guess I was wrong. ( The 208 damage is amazing :o. Imagine killing Jad in 2 combat rounds with this. As for the combat scrolls, do they also take a round when they are cast automatically (with enchanted helm). If not, my titan's scrolls are pretty useless. -
Do you really have to kill 800 Black Knights...

Wow, it's really stupid that you can buy them off the GE. Get the rank man, another goal to reach, yay. -
Timing your eating, specs and blitzes/vengeance on PvP

Thanks for the answers Comp. I knew it would be either you, Muggi, or Soma to answer this. ;) For the blitz + other spell combo, I've seen Muggi's GIF's, thats what inspired me, 26-28 is pretty awesome with magic. Now I know why it didnt work at rock lobs, thanks. For blitz + dds, thanks for the in depth response, can't wait to try it out. On the food issue, I'd swear I didn't loose a round if I timed to eat my monkfish at the right moment (right before animation), but that might be me... As for the karambwan, doesn't the first piece of a pizza also take less time than usual? I'm pretty sure I heard someone saying you could drink a brew, eat a shark and one part of a pizza, all in the time to eat one shark. And for just shark + brew (what I've heard from Soma2035), what was it again. First shark, then brew, or other way round? (to loose only one round of combat, yet eat one dose of brew and one shark). Can be handy in emergency situtations. Just to make it clear, you agree that it's possible do to a 4-hit combo by casting vengeance, casting spell book swap, inititiating combat with blitz, do your dds spec, and if that's not enough, cast another vengeance for a fifth free hit, right? I've got two extra questions too: 1) spell book swap: It's only for one spell right? After that you revert to lunar again, I assume. 2) Summoning scrolls. Using my unicorn scrolls delay me at all (just like any non combat scroll, I think), however, using my Boil scroll on my Gesyer Titan, I seem to loose a round. Is this correct, or am I just taking too much drugs? thanks again for the detailed answers so far. -
I've recently been lvling mage and ranged and I'm nearly 99 in these 2. After that, I was planning to start a bit of pking/dueling/cwarring/..., you know, use your hard earned skills. Anyway, I'm still a total noob in pking and I was wondering about a few things: 1) Can anybody explain me the exact timing for blitz + ... combo? I've tried doing this while bursting rock lobs (when I'd have one left, I'd try to blitz it and then burst for double hit), but it didn't work at all. Maybe it only works on other players, I wouldnt know. Also, does it work with every combat style? I've seen a double magic hit already, and from what I hear, blitz + dds spec is also very possible, and pretty ownage. 2) Another timing question: Eating without losing a combat round. When, with which food? And how did the sara brew-shark-pineapple pizza-combo work again? I'd like to have some detailed explanations on these :-). 3) Vengeance. How is this best used? If I cast it, will it kick in at the next attack, even if it is a zero (+ it's only for one attack, right?). I've heard about people using vengeance, spellbookswap, blitz, vengeance, dds combo's, or something like that. Can anybody explain me the timing, if it works. If you have any more tips, or interesting info on those, I'm always glad to hear it. + one more questiong, that hasnt got anything to do with the previous ones: On what should I use my penguin pts? Check my stats below. I'm 1k till 85 slayer (so Jade vine and Bork will take care of 85), and I'm planning to keep it there, so that obvious option is out. As you can see, I like rounded stats :-).

Phats been going down since end of december 2007

So PVP back eh? how's that for the economy?
bedman replied to mrrowntree's topic in General Discussion
Work out smart ways to lvl. Ive made over 300k/h crafting at 180k xp an hour. Takes a little patience, however, the time you have to wait doesnt have to be online. -
I dont understand how people are so bad at math. The amount you collect doesnt matter if you do % However, you took the wrong %. You have to take the % of profit compared to what you invest, i.e. the Miscellania prices. For coal this works out to: 78.4/91.6 = 85.6 % For fish: 114.8/87 = 132 % So if you collect like 20k maples, or 15k fish, it doesnt matter, the % takes this into account. As you can see, fish is better, and even flax beats it too (38/40 * 100 % )

Yeah, if you're rich enough to buy a phat then you probably have other stuff you can lend out to sell that junk. Either that or you can just lend out the phat to get rid of the junk lol. lol, you just sold the hat, hard to lend out a hat you dont got, isnt it :D
-
Remember, if you sell your phat for street price, you get the street price in cash + TONS OF JUNK. That junk isnt worthless...
-
I think the word "epic" is used way too much lately.
-
Pretty much the same opinion here. Except for the volatile morphic tools, if the xp boost is actually decent...
-
Actually, it's more like 15k. Even more for magic, and a bit less for agility. (I'm gonna check the exact numbers next week)
-
I dont think that affects score. Doing 99 spots and emotes without failing is bound to get you such a high score anyway.
-
I followed your advice step by step and had the lowest results since I started.. :wall: . 1 acrobat costume piece to complete that costume! So, once again, the luck factor in this game will be crucial My advice was TO MAXIMISE XP, NOT SCORE. :-)

Nice work, I'm 84 slay myself, 13k from 85. However, I think I'm gonna stop slaying after 85 cause I'm reaching some nice stats: 90 90 90 (att def str) 99 hp, 99 ranged, 99 magic, 90 summoning, 80 prayer (see the round numbers :D). Anyway, some advice: Try to save up at least enough green and gold charms for 68-74. Then you can use all your crimsons. With granite being so cheap, granite lobsters are a really good option. I'd also consider making fruit bats all the time. It's tempting to go and make ents, but really, 600 gp extra for only 20 xp isnt worth it. Also, save blues, seriously. It's so much fun getting 79-82 sumonning all with blues :-). (had 920). What to buy with spare cash: that's a hard one. Ive got some spare cash myself, and have owned an sgs, but since it was going down all the time, I resold it. I'm considering buying one again, once it's stable. DFS: no no. I (and you) can survive perfectly with Rune defender just with a bunyip at nechs, hell hounds etc. Drink a super def, en wear barrows (no torso). I think I even wear a torso at hell hounds. Only place where it's handy is wyverns, and Iron drags. Bandos plate: Never owned one, but I guess it's pretty good since you can use that + bunyip and defender in stead of a guth/torag plate. However, the +4 str is really only a very small difference. Thought, you've got to spend your cash on something...

Pulli, they didnt rise cause no one in their right mind sold them in the GE for such a low price. When they got higher and higher, more and more people started selling in the GE.

Most people know about this. It's not THAT good. Comparable to a Dragon Scimitar and Rune Defender. Using a whip on controlled is much better. You spend a few hours training strength using a weapon that's much (much) worse than a whip. You're losing a lot of time that way. When you train controlled, it SEEMS to go by more slowly, until you hit three levels within fifteen minutes of each other and gain a combat level almost every time. You've gotten a lot of great advice in this thread, and I hope that you have the sense to take it. As always: ITT: 98% of Tipiters have no idea how to slay. You are right, but the sentence in bold. He wont loose that much time if he just uses it for like 5 hours. (maybe one hour max). So if he really wants equal skills, let him use this "epic" combo and then train controlled from then on.

I'd say the opposite. When people realise rares are going up again, demand is going to skyrocket, and so are phats. Much more people can afford them now. Phats will become the new 3a (but rarer) and interest in 3a will decline. Since 3a is pretty much a big price bubble, they will crash. However, I'm hoping the opposite :-) anyway, I'm pretty happy I sold my masks 2 days ago. Saw it coming when i heard wolfs were going down.

Pretty much. But change torso for karil's top or zammy/sara d'hide top. Also ROL, it may have saved you before, but logically, it hasn't got much use when you think : How often are you going to be in a position where you have less that 10% hp, realistically. Against monster that hit more than 8 or 9 on a regular basis. I'd say warrior ring is of more use, and use your own judgement when your HP level is low with a 1 click teleport. You are at 35 hp, you get hit a 30 -> 5hp left, telly. You are at 65 hp, you get hit a 60 -> 5hp left, telly. Do I need to continue?

I think a lot of it may have to do with lending. Let's say you finally get your party hat and want to show it off, and head to the nearest bank to do so. You're greeted with one of two messages: 1. "Can i barrow ur phat (insert your combat level here)???????///" 2. "U nub u dont own it u brrwd it." Your feeling of accomplishment is destroyed. I'm sorry, but they started crashing waaay before item lending came out. (when Pking got removed and GE introduced). they crashed because phats were a way merchanters could make 100s of mils a day without much effort when the trade limit was made they couldnt merch em to profit 5-10mil per sale but 10-20k lol The reason is right, but the numbers are wrong. People are making MORE money a day on the GE, with LESS effort, than they did before trade limits.

First of all, I never said (or thought) you were a noob cause you dont have high summoning. I just said all the high lvl summoning discussion isnt appliable on your case. Secondly: whats the rant about? Third: No, the 200k will be gotten very very slowly. There's nothing wrong with training on str to quickly catch up, It's just, overall (long term) it's better to train on controlled. Those 3-4H you train on str only with a worse weapon wont make the difference. However, cause it's only 200k xp, I wouldnt advice buying all those things (obby combo), just do it with a dragon scim. Last: Charges dont matter, indeed. No pvp use. I'd try to get a slayer helm asap. (more defence + good looks).

Sorry for double post, but this thread deserves a bump. Anyways, regarding to the guy who asked how to max the xp you are getting: Do a move FOR EVERY LVL JUST ONCE! So for agility, dont do the backflip AND the juggling with chins, do just one of them. Basicly, the easieset is to just do backflip, large leap, ... (99-90-80 just follow all the moves in downards order). This also applies for ranging (do 99-60-moves on bull eye, then do 50-10 on spinning plate). With magic, again, the same. First go to the high lvl spot, do all, then move to the levitate spot and do all. (the third spot has nearly the same lvls, you can combine if you wish to, however the 2 spots I said have all you need). I've gotten 20k + mage xp, 13k+ ranged xp and ... + (I think it's over 10k) agility xp. Not bad for 5 min work.
-
Problem with ranging is that you might as well just camp somewhere, there's no mask bonus. I'd really wish they'd update the 15% accuarcy and strength increase for magic and ranging too.
