Why should we be their guinea pigs. They make the game they should have all the answers and the right information. Now I have even less confidence in the answers I receive from Customer Support. OK then they will just call it the proper release and not change it, what the hell do you want? who would be best to test the guide and put it through its paces US runescapes players. Thats why its called a beta, dont look at it till its offcial if you want to stick to your prinicipals or w,e your complaining about you dont have to - ITS OPTIONAL therefore your not forced to be a guinea pig. So you really think everything passes at Andrew's desk? I dont think so... Blame the small game knowledge of all the other mods (or some of them, i guess the new ones) well of course they need feedback i understand that, the max of ice barrage... well andrew should know that its 30, now if he meant to put 30, im fine, but if he really things is 28....well we have a problem since he designed the game and all So you really think everything passes at Andrew's desk? andrew gower and his financial money making ways
bedman replied to Iv_Green_vI's topic in General Discussion
Could you tell me which topic please? I'm quite interested :) edit: did you mean this one? http://tip.it/runescape/index.php?times=10 and this one? http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=340 ... &start=105 -
A lot of things said here are true, however there is much discussion. This is because there are so many factors to take care with: Are we talking about low lvls or not? => low lvls: mage owns => mid lvls: range owns => high lvl: melee owns. (for f2p) Are we talking about members or not? => members: mage "overpowered" cause of ancient magicks => f2p: mages (and rangers also, but thats logic) havent got any chance against melee at higher lvls (80+ combat) Are we talking about rich players or not? => if you are rich: ancient magicks, whips, veracs, ... => if you're not: dragon dagger, dlong, ranger, ... (i know the last one is stuipd. one who takes teh biggest risks deserves the best chances) Etc... My opinion however is: Rangers are certainly underpowered in p2p. They have much trouble killing mages, and they're supposed to be strong against them. Whereas warriors havent got problems beating rangers, and mages beating warriors. On the other hand, people are complaining that a rangers loot is worthless. So i think Jagex should introduce a new ranged armour, with a big magic defense. However, this new armour should have NEGATIVE melee-attack bonus, to prevent it getting used by warriors, who would get an unfair advantage against mages, their weakness. EDIT: this armour should cost a lot, so its worth it to kill a ranger. Another problem is that rangers in p2p cant do a "finishing blow". Therefore I think the double spec should get back. The chance of hitting 20 20 20 20 is still very slim, but at least there is a chance for a 40+ attack. (just as warriors have a nice chance for 40+ (combined) damage). Mages dont need this high damage hit, cause they can bind their enemies, preventing them to escape + teleblock. Now f2p. I'm not going to talk about "finishing blows", cause they dont exist there, and never will. A few things I have experienced (I am f2p) 1) At the very low lvls (1-40/50), mages own. Rangers are also very strong, but one thing is sure: warriors get totally owned. 2) At the mid lvls (40/50-60/70), warriors are (relatively) getting stronger, mages are just as strong as they would have been lvl 40 (only a bit more hp, but they still hit 16s), and rangers are now having upperhand. They are now able to his 10-14s, and they hit those very fast, and quite accurate. 3) At the high lvls (80+), warriors are obtaining their real power. They wear full rune, hit 20s with rune scimmy (prayer + pot). They have a natural advantage on rangers, and those are now almost maxed out. The only bad side of the story is that they have to kill other melee'ers to get a decent loot. At 100+ combat, a ranger is almost worthless since he could have had 99 ranged at lets say 85 combat. The only thing he can get is def, but that isnt so effective. But, an combat 85 ranger with 99 ranged could have a great chance of beating a warrior of the same lvl. So I feel safe to say rangers are getting useless after 100 combat. However, they are still owning mages, like they should. Negative point: they get bad loot from mages. Mages are still only hitting 16s, and the only thing they can train is hits and def. However, with a def bonus of 10 (dfire shield), that doesnt make much difference. Summarised: mages are getting weaker (relatively) once they reach 50 combat. The stay still quite to very strong untill 70 combat. After that its going downards. At 80+ combat they are only good for chasing people, meaning the other people is loosing and this is hard to achieve, since a mage is weaker. The only chance thus for a mage to own is to meet someone weaker (either lower lvl, or low on food). my 2 (big) cents

Very nice ideas. Not more than reasonable :)

You know this post was basically about adding agility shortcuts just using the whip, not about whip prices or rarity right? :?: You sure? Ye, look at Axe Man Jack's topic.

FIRE DRAGON- New armor, hides, @ area for dragon slayers
bedman replied to buffrichie's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
Nice idea, but what about alinea's :D -
Well, if you think about it: 5 sec is nothing. But I do see with myself, that I am annoyed when I have to type my pin, and when you are for instance smithing at varrock west bank, you have to bank every 20 sec, so it would be very annoying.
-
Hehe, interesting read. Finally a nice, new, most of al ORIGINAL topic. Sadly, I cant really add something. I've never really went to wildy, just to annoy those dam pkers :D Well, you could say I annoyed some by getting away when I was attacked while mining rune, but thats it. (xing ftw)
-
Hehe, I wish i would have been there :D
-
That would be just a waste of an update... The only cool thing would be that you could walk around, i say walk around cause the stats would only be as good as green, in a nice outfit.

Barrows For Lower Levels - ed 25 Oct 2006 (AOW discussion)
bedman replied to Satenza's topic in General Guides
Nice one, but you shouldnt wear rune chain when you only use it for ahrim. Rune chain doesnt give any magic def, while dragonhide body does :) You also might add that its better to wear chaos gaunts. this way you hit 15s with fire bolt. Keep up the good work. -
What are you, WG? I personally have given away many whips (12) to friends and clanmates, and all other profits I have re-invested into slayer (cannonballs) or mage (runes). I am actually quite poor. If the profit from the skill dissapears because lazy noobs believe they deserve the whip cheaper and spam the prices in fally lower and lower then slayer will become another useless skill akin to firemaking. Then nobody would care to train it and the skill I love so much will die. I caution you not to insult people on these boards. You can easily get your point across without acting foolisly. He might have been harsh, but what you are telling is a bit, well ill call it "not smart". The prices of whips arent manipulated by lazy noobs who believe they deserve the whips cheaper. I dont believe a few noobs can cause such an impact. I think it's just the play of supply and demand, and at the moment the demand is still smaller than the supply. IF the drop rate is changed, then the you will see the result anyway. No need to push things.

the standards for being "legendary" nowadays?
bedman replied to ixfd64's topic in General Discussion
Quiet true. But take the "10k-kill-count-guy" for instance. He did something nobody (I think) has ever done before, and helped the community to find out wether kill count has a mayer effect, yet isnt famous. So I guess you should add: do something good that not too many have done before, and that affects a big part of the community. (now its only the tipiters that know about him, and even then, only barrowers). -
Thats a nice idea :) If there would come any hotkeys, it should be these. They dont make the game "easier" (you cant train faster, or something, or pk like its nothing), but they make it more user friendly.

Correction to your foolhardy correction. Games are always in development and we've played them from the start. From their earliest roots to now and we STILL see games developing and evolving Keep at it sonny, you'll gain enough experience to wise someday. If this odd statement were true then no one would act as if any MMORPG game such as this should or shouldn't be played by anyone. And as they have an age limit for the game, your statement is questionable. A word from someone who never tackjled the original Zork games or even picked up an Intellivision controller and wondered how you beat Disk of Tron. Love to listen to the children yapping...ignorantly too. Don't you just love when the young discount prior experience with games? As if one game hasn't got its roots in prior systems and game play, or other types of RPGs from past history? As if this game, Runescape, was nothing like any other out there? That's called experience, sonny. When you are older you may have some....maybe. See prior answer. This makes no sense to someone without a large gaming background and your argument falls apart when you realize MY gaming experience has resulted in over 4000 games being won. Once upon a time I used to keep track, now it's a waste of time. Since the younger generation is as cruel and ignorant as any other younger geneartaion, the nature of being young is disresepct. It's simply how you're wired...and the fact you think you know it all when you're a teen. Failing of humanity. And who cares about prior video games? Game Developers. The people who brought you these games, as well as those of us who have played the priors you don't want to admit existed. Quite a few of them are better than many of the ones the current industry is churning out. And doesn't Runescape have past version? *gasp* Of course they do. Don't care about those? Cool. Another sophomore doomed to repeat prior mistakes, unwilling to look back and learn. Stride forth boldly, eyes shut, learn by each painful mistake...no one could POSSIBLY understand or have been in your shoes after all. *snicker, snort, ROFLMAO* Final nail in the coffin. Was I reffering to Pac Man? And the agism comes from the younger up. This thread is about how much we hate it and you've shown us EXACTLY why it occurs. Before RS existed there were games just like it, biggest difference? They weren't P2P and set on your browser. Your comment comes from your insistance that no other experiences could possibly apply to RS, no one can know more than you as this game and its premise are completely original. All wrong. SO stay rude, stay sophomoric, stay away from us. When you finally wake up we'll be happy to welcome you Wisdom 101, but until then you're in the noob club forever. Haha, I didnt know you could be so stupid at the age of 34  Sorry, but Frizoid made some good points, yours are rubbish. (At least in my, "childish" opinion)

A theory about how to identifying autoplayers.
bedman replied to metabee14's topic in General Discussion
Hehe, I just killed 3 autoers, and reported about 15. Man, I've been there once and there were no autoers, and this time, the space was flooded by autoers. The only bad thing is that other, honest playes, get mad when you close the door all time, and that autoers can still sneak through it... Anyway, I still ahd fun, killing those few guys, and reporting the others hoping they get banned  -
OLD Runescape Classic Picture (Let the memorys Flow)
bedman replied to Dilts36's topic in RuneScape Classic
i guess hes really hooked to RSC and likes to remember it... I guess..... I never thought RSC was any good tho  lol u prolly never actually played it I played it for more than a year, and I also prefer rs2 over rsc. But I do understand why you guys prefer rsc... Anyway, nice pictures, cool to see it again. I especially love the dragon and his breath. Almost forgot how it looked :D -
Hats off to you! You argued that point very well, and it has honestly made me look at Runescape in a completely different way  ~Ian Indeed, I enjoyed reading it. Maybe even more than reading the article (cause most of it was already basic knowledge for me). Sometimes, I also have that feeling you explained wonderfully, but I never really elaborated about it, and not in such a clear structured text :) On the other hand, Runescape stays something for my leisure, and I dont consider it as working. Though, me and my friend had fun, estimating how much money we would have had if we did a part time job during all the hours we played runescape. We found out it was quite alot :P Nor you, nor the guy who reported you seem to get what the concept "price manipulation" means. Trying to sell a whip for 8m isnt price manipulation. Trying to sell d scimmi's for 5m isnt price manipulation either. It would be price manipulation, when you (and your friends), made topics telling that whips became ultra rare, and when you posted fake trades on the forums, where your friend pretends to buy your whip for (lets say) 6m. Basicly, price manipulations is about posting fake trades, fake rumors, ... , with the intention to raise the price of a certain item (that you most probably hoarded). So you can still TRY to sell a whip for 8m, as long as you dont spread out lies to make people believe it really is 8m. Same goes for scimmis at 5m.

interesting RS anagrams (not treasure trail related)
bedman replied to ixfd64's topic in General Discussion
Cool, very interesting to read. I wonder wether Jagex did them intentionally... Good work :) -
Yes, I'd like to see some more hotkeys out there, besides the "Ctrl + map click = running". However, a prayer hotkey would indeed be a bit stupid, but I'm sure there are some nice additions they could make with the hotkeys, making the game user friendly, but not specifically easier.

Hmmm, would the kids out there be smart enough to change their age to 15 for a few minutes 8) ? I dont think their rule really help. Anyway, I can now report people when they tell they are only 9 or something, gnegne
-
Well, if you are 43, why can't you properly write "there"? And why don't you know that it is "are there any" and not "is there any"... However, I do understand what you mean, and English might not be your native language, but so is mine. I just found it a bit contradictive that you were discussing about maturity, and even the title was full of errors. So, no offence and yes, there should be more mature players on rs. Those "kiddo's" are dam annoying from time to time, but do what I do: Laugh with them.

Yew cutting : fastest money maker skill in f2p? I think not.
bedman replied to a topic in General Discussion
Meaning you play "alot", and you could have made double the money, if you runecrafted. -
see what i mean? that's why the advertising rule is there. though it is a little over the top banning people saying "google" or something among those lines though.... EXACTLY what I wanted to say. Lately its hard to respond on topics since everything I wanted to say is already said by someone else :D
