  1. Didn't we just unlock reward 2? To me that suggests we're 2/3 of the way through. Unless Jagex has set an end date that I've missed.
  2. To me it sounds like they don't really know who is doing that.To me it sounds just that more info can't hurt.
  3. I haven't had any lag problems during BoL or the rebuildathon.
  4. Off the top of my head Firemaking - Magic logs to 90, elder logs to 99 Farming - Highest trees, fruit trees, herbs, alotments, you can (changes too much to name them all) while you do other skills Hunter - Jadinkos Crafting - Cut dragonstones Mining - LRC concentrated gold with warbands in between
  5. According to http://www.theguardian.com/world/2011/may/25/china-prisoners-internet-gaming-scam it's not always as clear as that.
  6. I guess that makes Jagex's recent moves equivalent to governments decriminalizing and regulating drugs to stamp out black market drugs which has worked fairly well IRL from the reports I've heard. Whether the same concept would hold for RS remains to be seen but I seem to recall someone saying that it worked in another game.
  7. I think if you're old enough to have access to payment for bonds you're old enough to understand what RWT is. Whether they actually know it is another matter.
  8. You can help by collecting materials in the crater and depositing them on the relevant pile.
  9. I trust Jagex's number but only insofar as it's telling a very selective truth. I think to understand the statistic we need to focus on the phrase "wealth injected by illegal gold farmers". To me this means the value of items brought into the game through bots and not a total sum of all RWT activity. A good chunk of RWT (I would assume the majority) is done by resellers acting as middle men and, if my interpretation of the quote is correct, aren't included in the figure. So essentially Jagex is saying "we've cut down on one small select part of RWTers operations by 81%". Naturally other parts of RWTers business will be affected but I doubt those numbers would paint a picture of such drastic success.
  10. But as they raise prices the price gap becomes less and less worth the risk of bans.
  11. We've gone over this in another thread but you can't judge an updates popularity on member numbers unless you can quantify all other variables, which no one but jagex can do. For all we know the lost members are all goldfarmers. Or it could be pissed off players quitting based on the update. We just don't know at all.
  12. Buy a bond. Redeem for 14 days of P2P. Play 7 days of RS and 7 days of OSRS. Then decide whether you want to come back to either of the versions of the game. People on TIF who still play will tell you reasons to play, people who don't play will tell you reasons not to play. Only you can really make up your mind about whether you still enjoy the game.
  13. Or Brassica Prime is an elder god. ALL HAIL BRASSICA PRIME, CREATOR OF GEILINOR!
  14. Even if say 5000 people want to take part in this competitively, that's still only 1% of the population. There's no way that 1% yes, 99% no would pass no matter how much Jagex wants it (see: changing votes required for OSRS tiers). Yes, some people will want to do a stat or two and vote yes, or vote yes simply because they think it's a neat idea without actually planning to use it, but I don't see this getting more than 10% support simply because of people thinking "I don't want to use this so I will vote no".
  15. You could also just burn the logs you chop. It's not exactly efficient but it's self-reliant, cheaper, and multi-tasking generally is more interesting.
  16. Fishing - fly fishing in Barbarian village Put salmon and trout on your ability bar for easy dropping Crafting - either hard leather boots or making jewelery (-4 to +4 gp/exp) Cutting gems works but is super expensive (-20 gp/exp or more) Firemaking - bonfires with maples (-.2 gp/exp) Yews if you want to spend a lot more for faster exp/h (2 gp/exp) Woodcutting - power chopping willows at Draynor, crafting guild, or Rimmington Yews work for profit but aren't competative for exp until after 95 Smithing - smelting profits but is slow Making the best platebody you can is fast but expensive Mining - iron ore in the dwarven mine, banking in the resource dungeon Power mining iron anywhere else is good for exp/h
  17. Did the person you gifted to use the bond right away? I gave a bond to a friend but haven't gotten the message. Though, I think the bond's still in her bank.
  18. That's why they're contemplating a GP fee for prestiging. Just enough to prevent people from abusing it like that.
  19. I would like to see new skill capes for prestiged skill. Ever since seeing those player-designed capes I've been noticing my capes aren't particularily pretty. If they keep the same stats as the current capes it would be more or less a cosmetic item and would allow a way to upgrade the looks of the old capes. Perhaps just a small number on the cape to show the prestige level you've reached.
  20. Not a terrible idea but I probably won't use it unless it provides significant fashionscape potential.
  21. New trees look interesting, and a change to the BXP will certainly be welcomed by those who don't like losing an inv slot for BXP.
  22. A lot of people started playing in 04/05 so 06 was when they were old enough to know the game beyond the tutorial island level of knowledge, but new enough that the game still had its wonder and 'new game smell'.
  23. The only way to turn GP into real life money is to buy membership, spins, or runecoins with GP, thus saving you money on those things. You can not directly convert GP to real money though. So with your 3,417,686,330gp you can buy ~570 bonds at 6M each. You can then redeem those bonds for game services that you would have otherwise spent money on like 21.8 years worth of P2P (saving $1,637.50), 4,560 spins (saving $1,013.23), or 91,200 Runecoins (saving $1,753.67).
  24. According to the unofficial wiki: "If there is money in the coffers and the player's membership ends, the workers in Miscellania (and Etceteria, if Royal Trouble is completed) still continue gathering resources and deducting money from the coffers accordingly." and I'm almost positive that someone from TIF confirmed this way back in the day, but it was so long ago that I am not certain.
  25. With bonds being a convenient way to get short term membership, I foresee myself getting P2P more often (during weeks with no midterms, etc) but still sporatic. This leaves me wondering, how long does MTK profit if I'm not P2P to keep my favour at 100%? I have 7.5M in the coffers. I have 10 Herb, 5 mining. (Is that the best?)
