I'm sorry, i'm past trying to explain to some guy on a forum why what I said was funny, to me at least. And I'm certainly above showing said internet joke to an uninvolved party to reassure myself that my sense of humor is not broken. So no 'Yeah but I showed it to my mate who laughed sycophantically and patted me on the back' comeback here. Lesson learned, I'll avoid attempting witticism when in the presence of uptight internet ranters, and their ratchety lackeys. You're doing it wrong. Edit: Out of interest, was Ireland joining the United Kingdom a recent development that I have missed? >_>

The solution would to change the way updates are implemented. Instead of updating little and often, save them up for a few months and release several large 'exciting' changes at once. Spread the interest around, everyone still enjoys the updates - Without putting such a stress on any one location. Of course, be prepared for the WTF ITS BEEN THREE MONTHS AND STILL NO UPDAET rants...
  4. Wow, what a numpty.
  5. Haha, I remember when I first found the wildy I used to camp the steel leg respawn. I was only level 30ish, so the spiders destroyed me. But I would run in, pick the legs, die - Then go sell it to Louie Legs in Al Karid and run back up for another pair. That's when I wasn't picking banana's for Lucas, of course. Good times :D And this.
  6. Wow, do those stats really work well in F2p crater? Perhaps my zerker pure can be salvaged without toooo much work. Is it fun to BH f2p? Is the prayer necessary? Say yes and I get def tomorrow ;p Edit: Watched half of the vid now, and it does look kinda fun ^- Is the def a must for F2p? Or does 45 work still for no armor fights...

Omali, I made a joke. You, and others failed to get that joke. Probably because i'm British, and we have a far superior sense of humor. ;) [see, I put a smiley face there, so you and your underlings can see i'm fooling around, still]. Perhaps it wasn't appropriate, I really don't care. If someone said that to me, under those circumstances - I'd laugh. Get over it. If you could get your head out of Omali's arse long enough to read my post's completely - It would really help things. I don't honestly think I'm awesome, well - I do, but in that case I was just poking fun at myself. An activity I can see you're eager to assist me with. Great point! Although think about it in terms of a skill you have spent time learning, and your company still decides to replace you with a machine, you would be very upset. You'd probably kick up a little fuss, ask for compensation from the company and if enough people were getting replaced, Unions would get stuck in also. However, RS is just a game - Not life or death. And the vast majority should have spent a little time protesting the changes at the start, until they realized nothings changing back, then bite the bullet and leg it over to WoW. Like I did. Although that's pretty poor PvP also >.> Being an 'idiot' to play the game as efficiently as possible? Seriously? Some people played to PK. Certain character builds were much more effective than other character builds. You're an idiot for building your character to be as effective as possible in your chosen field of interest? Imagine you've just finished three years of law school, ready to rock out into the courtroom an kick some [wagon]; bam! New legislation comes out of the blue, and changes the law so you must have a duel honors Law and Business degree before you're legally eligible to practice? You'd be a little bit miffed. I would. No. No I didn't. /facepalm That's true, but as things stood - Investing your time making a wilderness centered character was not a worthless or pointless endeavor for someone who planned to spend their gametime in the wilderness. I'm sure you can relate to the ire that would be felt by someone who's persevered through a serious grind, only to find that the goal posts have been moved - Or they need to start again from scratch to be effective?

Cry -.- Irony is a literary or rhetorical device, in which there is an incongruity or discordance between what a speaker or writer says and what he or she means, or what is generally understood. I didn't think he's a moron, yet I called him a moron to parrot the awful reply he was already given and dealt with so deftly. It was 'a joke'. Clearly not a good enough one for your highly tuned sense of humor, my apologies for failing to tickle your metaphorical taste buds. Deepest regrets. The rest of my original post on flawed RS was dealing not with Omali, but with the question posed by the OP on whether or not i'd like to revert back to old RS and lose the 'new graphics'. I called him a moron the second time, to demonstrate my contempt for the personal attacks upon me. Which, knowing very little about me - Was clearly unwarranted. I thought that re-iterating the phrase I had previously said in jest, would gain me stylistic points and lend my post greater emphasis. Hmm, I missed rants. Always spend more time clarifying and explaining to the more cognitively challenged the true depth, meaning and sheer brilliance of my posts. I truly am awesome. And offtopic once again. Edit: In retrospect, taking into account the history of this thread; please familiarize yourself with the idiom 'tongue in cheek' before replying.
  9. I'm disappointed in the direction Jadex have taken RS, and to a certain extent do resent them for 'taking away my toys'. However no, they don't deserve to be hated in any sense of the word - It's their game and they are free to develop it in any way they wish. Just as we are free to express our objections by not playing. The difference between a RS 'autocracy' and a real life dictatorship is that in RS you are free. Free to walk away from any perceived injustices without a care in the world. The addiction card? I'm sure Jadex are aware of how addicting their game is, and i'm sure at the end of the month they are very grateful for the horde of hooked gamers lining their pocket. - However that's just how business works. You sell a product, and you do everything you can to ensure your product keeps getting sold. That's not evil, that's life.

Congratulations, you won todays 'failure to recognize intentional irony' award. Why am I here? I quit RS a few days after the wilderness downdate ['Update' is too kind], and the TIF a few days after that. I'm not 'still here'. I came back to give it 'another shot' last week, and have found it sincerely lacking. A question was asked regarding our enthusiasm for the chance to go back to 'old' rs2 or not - I simply stated and explained my preference. So, once again, this time without sarcasm or intended witticism - Shut up you moron. This. Ever since the wilderness was introduced, PvP in RS was pushed aside - An activity to go and do after you do your 'real' playing, for a large amount of people. A skiller's game. While it would be slightly amusing to see the looks on the faces of the players who gloated and laughed at the PKers when our RS world was shattered, I know how it feels to have a character you've spent hours of your life working on be rendered instantaneously useless and would be able to sympathize with a skiller should their favorite activity be destroyed or changed beyond recognition. Enjoy your RS =) Let the real PvPers go play L2, AoC or even CSS. Wow, awfully off topic there.
  11. Admit it, you didn't read what I wrote did you? *-*
  12. I think the Tif is more than a forum skin, and that so long as it's the same awesome community - All is well.
  13. Being jumped by a 'pker' while skilling and then safing in order to flee, is entirely differen't to safing during consensual combat. And isn't really relevant to a safing discussion at all. In F2p, other than level 40 1 def pure fights, fights lasted a LONG time, a lot of blue 0's would be hit, and very few 20+'s would be scored. Suffice to say that unless you were RR Pking, it was very easy to escape the wilderness with just a couple of food spare by simply running out. Scenario a) Full rune, full invent of lobbies. Safe eating, so no chance in hell either player is getting a KO - 15 minutes of 0's, 6's, 12's and the occasional lucky high hit punctuated by lots more 0's. Player A waits til he has 4 lobbies left, and runs out of the wilderness on full HP while player B chases him, cursing his luck as he rocks out a string of 0's with his rune scimitar. That's not even taking into account the added safety net of carrying telerunes, allowing player A to flee instantly without even sparing a line of food. Or the addition of protection prayers, cutting down the already shockingly low dmg output given or taken to a level of excitement that gave thrills which would rival that of a drying paint exhibition. Scenario B) Player A and player B both agree to take their armor off, drastically cutting down the 0's, and forcing both to co-ordinate their eating, potting and KO combo's. Despite the fact they are hitting more often, it's still f2p, so they are hitting low - And it's still quite hard to die. Both players agree to play it dangerous, letting their HP go into the danger zone before eating up - A perfectly timed 2h could end it all for either player. YES, when neither player safes; the chance of a death occurring is greatly increased. YES, that may even be your death! But in all honesty, what would you prefer - Boring trip after boring trip, eventually losing more in lobbies and str pots than you get back in kills, or short, exciting fights that test your reaction speeds and grit under pressure. I'd rather have a 'bloody good fight' and die, than spend 2 hours moping round, always escaping / being escaped from - bored [cabbage]-less. IMHO, this is a lot less relevant in P2P, where the dmg output is so much higher and the snares so much more potent. You CAN be KO'ed even WHEN you safe in P2P, and fights are much more fast paced. The old school 'honor code' wasn't a set of restrictions, it was an 'enabler' that attempted to fix a lot of drudgery of PvP that broke after RSC. It was a playing field leveler with an aim of making the wilderness more fun for everyone. In the majority of cases, safing is just an extension of this.
  14. I plan to, my real gripe a few months ago was the multi nature of bh that fed the teaming / nh poison that was already killing the wilderness... I'll try it out at least =)

Shut up you moron. Nice to know there's still pures to remind us that most of them were immature trolls. Shut up you moron. And for the record, should any updates / changes be reverted - Or the chance to live in the past be granted; I'd take RS over RS2 any day. Current RS is just a flawed copy of a flawed copy...
  16. STR. Complete waste of time. Nobody trains it. Pure garbage in skill form.
  17. What do you mean? Means his pure got def by accident ;_; I kinda regret wasting my time on all sorts of alts instead of rocking an extremely hawt main character. But fun was had, which is what it's all about right?
  18. Short. [bleep]y. Pink. You don't need length to stand out. ^-
  19. Well, that's quite disappointing... T_T
  20. I don't really care too much. I think it can be harmful, and it can be perfectly fine. I'm sure you would all agree that REAL friendships can be formed online, i've a mate I met in WoW coming to visit me in a few weeks from Norway. After 2 years of playing together, and chatting on skype / msn, he's coming to the UK to say hi. If we can maintain one sort of relationship successfully, cant it be possible for deeper relationships to also exist online? However, I think caution needs to be exerted - I'm a 20 year old bloke, I can look after myself should this guy i've known online for years turn out to be some sort of weirdo. With all the kid's playing RS, and all the predators online I think that forming gf/bf relationships are not a good idea. I do believe it's possible to 'love' someone you've never met face to face, but there's also a lot more dangers; aside from the obvious 13 year old Sarah turning out to be 54 year old Gary from brighton, there's also the emotional danger of 'loving' someone who doesn't feel the same about you or is just playing around with your feelings. And ofc, as a 20 year old bloke, I will always be very careful over what I say/do and am seen to be saying/doing to [ok, potentially] very young girls/boys. It's a testimony to the evil of this world that good people have to be so careful. Views on a RS GF/BF? Avoid.
  21. Sorry it's my fault. I considered logging in today for the first time in months, BAM servers down. >_<
  22. RL friends started RS again, tell me that BH is okish now - And not multi/teaming/luring paradise anymore. Is it fun? What PKing style prevails? Is it full of 1 iteming, PJing, praying nh scum? >_>
  23. Sounds like teaming pj scum paradise.
  24. QFT. The difference is simple: In the wilderness, you only got instaganked by clans/teams if you don't know the map and allow yourself to be lured / don't plan your escape route well. In BH, you only get instaganked by clans/teams.
