Rock Hard

I think the problem is that the people who were most adversely effected by RWTers, the skillers who were forced to share resources with bots, are the class [type?] of player who was hit least hard by this update. It's the players who rarely came into contact with such bots, who even profited from the cheap price of raw materials on the market, who have had their fun sucked from the game. I never complained nor cared about auto's. I understand how hard it must be to compete for ore and fish with bots, and i'm happy you don't have to do that anymore. I just wish there was a reason for me to play now... RuneScape always appealed to me as the type of game you can jump into at any point and have a little fun doing what you enjoy. A game that fits in easily with your RL schedule. I don't think this can be said now, for a lot of players.

I usally think of a way around it or with it. If i was a pker instead of rioting/crying/whining/committing suicide i would be doing something with the other pvp aspects of runescape, or trying out other elements of the game. My thinking is mainly overruled with logic unlike most people though. Then your a very... good... Person. I know my first reaction involves loud noises and an attempt to inflict great pain on the offender. So just sit back and smile to yourself, assured of your own superiority. Maybe roll your eyes a little, sip an iced tea, then do something else while the kids have their riots. :)

That's the exact thing that irritates me most, they are too ignorant to realise why jagex did these updates and why they won't be restoring unbalanced trade. I really don't mind what people discuss, it's just when they are that ignorant it just annoys me, why can't people work with jagex's ideas and improve them? Why does everyone want the wilderness to be changed back exactly how it was when it obviously won't be? Because people aren't all rational thinking beings. For a lot of people, they have spent a lot of time and effort building their character solely for one purpose, and one purpose only. Now, without any form of consultation or approval from the players most directly effected, all the played for is stripped away. Sure, it's easy to sit back and say 'lets think about this'. But for a lot of people, this was simply a kick in the nuts. When I get kicked in the nuts, my first response isn't usually 'Now, let me try to understand your reason's for doing that, and work with you to fix the problem'. [Maybe it should be, lol.]. What do you do, when someone kicks you in the nuts?

People make noise in the hope that if enough people make noise, their game will be restored. I'm sure if it isn't restored soon enough, a lot of people will indeed 'just leave'. Either way, who are you to tell people what they can and cannot discuss? Irritated by the constant fuss? Can't play RS without interruption? Go do something else. 'Just leave' for a while. Aye, but is it worth guarding a corvette with razorwire threaded through the seats, clamped tires, jammed radio and an overheating problem? Jadex need to balance the security of their game, whilst leaving a fun incentive for people to play.

Not the way I read your post, but that's beside the point. Jadex have done this. And they have done this for reasons they see as valid. It is their game to develop as they wish, if you don't like it, don't play it. I don't, and I shan't. If enough people vote with their feet, it will do a hellova lot more good than a bunch of complainers who continue to pay up.

Deep_Pain, I really don't care about RWTers. Nor autoers tbh, I rarely skilled these days. I talked about Jadex having to make this move, not because of the ingame economy, but because of the RL economy. I read somewhere else about Jadex being told by the bank to fix the problem, or they would have trouble. I can't the quote, so I don't know if it's official or not. However I am just saying that I can understand Jadex's motives. Understanding =//= Agreeing. They have fixed one problem which hardly impacted me, at the expense of everything I enjoyed in the game.

I'm really sad to hear that... You were one of the first friends I had on RS. I know, you were fun to help. :P Well enjoy your game... I can't any longer.

People will change and adapt to the new game. RuneScape is not over. But it will be changed, changed too much for the liking of a lot of players. I don't mind change, I remember coming back to play a while after RS2 came out and being amazed at all the changes that had been made. It wasn't the same game, but it was still fun. However, i've given bounty hunter a try, and it isn't fun for the solo player. It's not fun for the player who likes to risk wealth in PvP, and it's not fun for the player who enjoys evenly matched fights. This time, the changes aren't worth putting up with. I play games for fun, and if RS isn't fun for me - There's plenty of other games that are. If Jadex can make RS fun again for me, i'll play. Til then ...

But see, theyve made too many mistakes enough to ruin the legitimate players, not everyone on rs is a RWT'er however with these new updates, it makes it seem as if everyone is. Theyve made too much of an impact to get back players. Im honestly shocked that anybody is still a member of this update. It's not worth paying the 5usd a month just to do nothing with friends. RS is a MMORPG, they took the MM out of it. Now its just a single player game. Not worth my 5usd every month. All this update shows is that Jagex is paranoid and so self-conscious about making money that theyll do ANYTHING to stop a loss of money. It's sickening and disgusting and it just shows you that they dont care for their players. I know and agree. I've also canceled the subscription on accounts over 5 years old, this step destroyed everything I ever valued in RS. But I can understand that the bankers told Jadex to fix the problem, so Jadex 'fixed' it. Not an excuse, but an understandable explanation.

But I don't enjoy doing quests, or skilling to get the level req's to do quest... This works for players who enjoy skilling questing, and a little bit of PKing on the side. However I don't have the time to dedicate to RuneScape that I once enjoyed. I have RL obligations and pastimes, combined with two other MMORPG's that I enjoy. I would use RuneScape PKing as a way to escape from the grind in other games. Bored for an evening, i would hit up the wilderness and stay there til I died. I have enough resources left over from when I was an avid player for this to be feasible... I've completed the required quests for my charater to be suitably powerful. You're suggesting that for me to see any direct fruit [Read] from PKing, I need to spend countless hours doing unsavory and boring activities in addition to the actually training of my character? No thanks, I think i'll go play Warsong Gulch...

People can bash pures and PKers all they want, i've always believed that the scummiest section of RS players are the level 60/70's who have been playing a month and feel like they are god's gift to RuneScape.

Yes. It's great. The cheaters are defeated, hurrah. Shame that I now have no incentive to login to this cheat free world. Fair trade, I guess.

You're right. 100% right. However, Jadex had to make a move. They HAD to, else they risked losing everything. Hopefully now they can focus on fixing all the problems the have made, while keeping the RWT'ers at bay...

Qeltar, I expected nothing less from you. -.- I agree with everything Aquashock said. Even if he is nh scum. ;) I think the recent changes are detrimental to the basis of RS being a 'free game' whereby you pick and choose the aspects you most enjoy - And specialize. Perhaps thats because Jadex removed the only aspects of the game I enjoyed and was good at. :P However, I understand the financial situation behind the 'updates'. If action wasn't taken we would soon have no RS. Now I just hope they can fix the godawful mess they have made of my game.

Dunno. If you had a lot of money to waste, you could start off a new character with this, if you were planning to reroll - as a headstart? Meh. People will sink low.

Don't worry about how you seem to players mate. Jadex have ways to tell if you're autoing or not - You won't get banned from player reports alone. ;) Oh, and highlanders, I fed your plushie :P
