Well, back in those days you were either born into wealth or born into poverty. You didn't work hard to become rich like how it mostly is today - you just got it handed to you. The poor were the hard workers and the rich were the ones who sat on their butts eating grapes all day. I can see why they would say the more spoiled a man is, the harder it is to follow the path of God. You wouldn't really need God if you were treated like one yourself, but as for the poor who have to work to death just to survive, believing God and having hope would be very useful to them. My point was that taking the bible literally can backfire, the rights and wrongs of capitalism & the American Dream was just my way to highlight it (using that passage). Well at that point, you need to use your own discretion. Some passages SHOULD be taken literally ,while some shouldn't. And as that is very hard to do, leave it to the Bible Scholars to figure it out. And yea, Zierro is right, there was this one instance when Jesus was talking to a rich guy who wanted to go to heaven. Jesus said "drop all your riches, and follow me" the guy said no. And he's in hell now probably lol. Jesus wasn't saying you can't be rich, but the guy was hoarding it. Not giving to the needy, nor to God. That's what Jesus meant. Then who decides what should be taken as a parable and what shouldn't - scholars? What happens when scholars disagree? Also there is zero ambiguity in the passage I mentioned, it says "a rich man" - not some, there are no preconditions, no exceptions are mentioned - it suggests that all rich men would find it virtually impossible to get into heaven. I love how you say "that's what Jesus meant" like you were there to hear it in context. lol. Is that really your argument? Well, what happens when scholars disagree with anything else in life? First off, those movies are simply awful, And very over rated. I can't really list them in any particular order, but: Equilibirum V for Vendetta (get the [bleep] out 4chan) Dark Knight The Fall (can't really be considered action.. idk) Die Hard thats it. Overall I dislike action movies, it's too easy to just add special effects, and hope the public won't notice the horrible screenplays and acting. I tend to like intelligent comedies I guess you could say. I do like 300, and Die hard, but I just don't think 300 is a must see, if anything Lord of the Rings should be.

I've personally never really outlined something. But, usually what it means, is to break up chapter(s) into smaller parts, explaining it. Pretty tedious. As with social, where there's a will, there's away. Have you tried emailing? I once did this when I lost my phone, and im is blocked :x I just emailed something, and they recieved it like a split second later, or you can set up a gmail account and use google talk. As for Im'ing, oncer you have your own business (good luck) you should be able to buy a pre paid phone with texts only. About losing your bookwork. Do this, CONTACT THE TEACHER! When I got my Ap Euro summer assignment, the ink was so faded, (photo copied) I couldn't read it. So I emaled the teacher, it was a bit awkward, as I had never met her before, but it turned out fine. And I was the only kid in class to have the Summer Assignment done. Giving me a 100 on a test grade. Follow your teacher's directions, and if you're able to get the book work back, epic@ But if you're prents find out while you're fixing the problem, simply state you were trying to be responsible and fixing it yourself. They should be happy about that :thumbup: *warning* may not apply in all cases. (I paid my $150 court ticket online instead of going to court, in my efforts to be responsible, my parents got furious at me.) And college, that all depends on your parent's predisposition to college. I can't really help you with that, but just remember that hopefully they say what they say because they love you. It may not come out right, but try and follow their adivce. When they say you're going to fail, don't take that as you're worthless, but that they want you to study harder, and not take college as a joke, maybe they did when they were kids.
